The Hotel has been renovated but kept in the taste of its origins. The toilets and showers are shared like most old pubs, they were unisex so there was no waiting whilst another was empty because no one of that sex was using it . I never had to wait at all. The room opened out onto the 2nd floor veranda and we had afternoon coffee and the complimentary, morning breakfast, listening and watching the birds in the trees. Walking the area was great and the Clarence River sensational. We had to climb one set of steep stairs to the rooms but that is normal for such pubs. The staff were bright and friendly, the food excellent with us taking advantage of the $20 steak/parma deal. Both were excellent and the mud cake for desert made for a rich meal. We loved the setting and the surrounds. Like all old pubs it had it's oddities but that is what makes them special. We will go again next time we travel this way. Garry, Victoria"
