Convenient parking around the neighborhood is easily accessible or if you prefer, public bus transportation is available in front of the complex. Our apartment is on the second floor with stair access and also has a private secondary entrance through one of the bedrooms. Enjoy the laundry in-unit and a dedicated workspace if needed. Not major issues. I would stay here again, and I really appreciated the owner as I had my VRBO unit cancelled 24 hours before our trip, and they took care of us to accomodate us on such short notice. A great, fair priced place in a great location in San Diego. Awesome food locations so close by. Highly recommended."

This 1 Bedroom Apartment was Originally the Guest Quarters for the Main Home built in 1912. While it has been updated several times over the years- we have tried to restore some of its original features & charm while adding many modern comforts & conveniences. Entry is located right off the sidewalk, with easy keyless access. Enjoy a large great room with an oversized sectional, twin daybed & dining area with seating for 6. Fully equipped Kitchen with all of the Small Appliances & gadgets to make you feel right at home. This unit has premium, luxury bedding & towels, etc.. The Bedroom features an oversized, single seater chair that fold down to a lie-flat bed (not quite a twin, but think Business/ First Class Airplane Seat) with chargers built in. There are 2 large closets guests can use as well that have hangers, iron & an ironing board.

We supply all bedding, linens, towels, etc for your stay. We do not replenish disposable items or items that need laundering during your stay, Unit subject to construction noise from across the street during the days & times where construction is permitted, per local law/ ordinances.

Check-in Time is at 4pm the day of Arrival. We will send check-in instructions shortly before check-in time on the day of arrival. If you would like an early check-in, we offer an Early Check-In Guaranteed for 2pm the day of Arrival, for a nominal fee of $40.00. Please let the Host know upon booking or prior to your Arrival.

Modern, luxurious and prime location. All three in one just for you. Open plan, with top of line king size mattress for a great night sleep. Chic Boutique furniture and accessories that have been hand-picked especially for each unit’s needs. Inspired by a pronounced interior designer from our sunny San Diego. Including a sofa bed for extra sleeping space. The bedroom has privacy and is divided by a wall. There is also a living space with sofas and a kitchen table. The natural light in the unit is astonishing. Of course, if you prefer shade, we do have faux wood blinds that you can adjust to your liking. Kitchenette has a microwave and a fridge. Includes all dishware for up to four guests. Also includes an electric kettle, toaster and drip coffee machine. Everything you need to make your stay feel like a home away from home. We would also love for you to enjoy your outside space and the view FirSix has to offer.

The Neighborhood:
We are on the corner of Fir St and Sixth St in San Diego. Right across Sixth St is Balboa Park, one of the top destination attractions San Diego has to offer. You will find amazing Museums surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Walking through Balboa Park you will also find a lot of local vendors and artists. You can do your morning run at the park and enjoy Sunny San Diego. Conveniently located on sixth avenue and a CVS a block away from outside of the building. You will be within walking distance from restaurants and coffee shops.

and San Diego Convention Center are minutes away by car or a short Uber/Lyft ride.

Getting Around:
Having a vehicle is ideal anywhere in California but not necessary when staying at this apartment. You will find many things are at a walking distance or short Uber/Lyft ride. Electric Scooters available around the building and you can ride or walk to Downtown San Diego, Little Italy and Balboa Park Museums. The San Diego airport is 2.4 miles to our apartment, that is usually a couple minutes’ drive.

Parking
We do have a parking garage on the property, but it is limited and is on a first come first serve basis, the fee for parking in our parking garage is 30$ per day. There is also parking on the streets surrounding our building. However, it is meter parking. Be aware of the signage. Always make sure to lock your vehicle. Please make sure to email us prior to your arrival if you choose to purchase a parking day pass, so we can email a parking pass and you can place it on the driver's side dash where it is visible. We have an on-site laundromat and it is located next to the vending machines and management office.

The West Facing room has a lovely view with just a peak of the harbor and great off shore breezes. Hawthorn Historic Inn is a National Historic landmark
Bankers Hill was among the first to be settled in San Diego. "Mr. Jones" starring Richard Gere was shot on site. A rare building indeed.!
Patios, decks a huge kitchen and a public study give lots of room to each guest.

There are four decks overlooking the bay and city and a large patio with tables, chairs and a barbecue grill for your use. There is also a very large kitchen which is available for use if you want to prepare a meal. Guests access their suites through the corridor on the right side of the front house via a well lit path.

The path leads to the Shared Courtyard devoted to guests, where the Upper Suite stairs lead to their deck overlooking the courtyard and the Private Patio is adjacent to the front house's patio, separated by a privacy fence and potted fruit trees.

Other things to note
This property is in the flight path to the San Diego Airport and planes fly overhead during the day and subside at night. The convenient location to Little Italy also means close proximity to the 5 Freeway, which will create a consistent background murmur throughout your stay. Street parking only, which is typically plentiful during the week but can be busy on weekends due to people parking and walking to Little Italy.

Please note, for the safety and comfort of all guests there is a strict 2 person maximum, including children and infants. Any guests over the 2 person maximum are subject to a charge of $300 per person. If you would like to bring guests, the listing for both suites rented together permits up to 4 guests.

We are a national historic landmark, looking the same as when it was built in the 1890s; Bay and ocean views, built in 1900 and a National Historic Landmark, walk to Little Italy, Downtown and even Balboa Park. This historic Victorian has wide halls, and 10 foot ceilings that speak to a different era. Hawthorne Inn is exactly like it was in 1900. The building is under the flight path..

The space

Just as it was built, so it is! Travel back in time to 1900....immaculate and charming space in a unique historic landmark. Lots of photos in the hallways showing the area in the 1900's. A great garden and barbecue are on the first level patio. Wonderful views of San Diego from the shared decks. Quiet building. Great view from decks.
