We ended up getting woken up in the middle of the night and throughout the mornings because of people simply walking around and sitting on the bed. The Neighborhood:
La Jolla Shores is a beach and popular vacation/residential community of the same name ideally situated in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The quaint La Jolla Shores business district is a relaxed, mixed use village encircling Laureate Park, on Avenida de la Playa in the village of La Jolla Shores.

The village has several fine dining restaurants as well as plenty of casual dining spaces, shops, and a few galleries. You can take surf lessons and rent surfboards, boogie boards, paddle boards and wetsuits from Surf Diva. Kayak, snorkel and bike tours are available at San Diego Bike and Kayak.

The beach is approximately one mile long and stretches from the sea cliffs just north of La Jolla Cove to Black's Beach south of Torrey Pines State Park. The Shores meets Scripps Institute of Oceanography campus and Kellogg Park (with an ideal kids playground and picnic area right next to the beach), encompasses the Scripps Pier and borders the San Diego - La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve to the south. A wonderful array of restaurants and cafes, ice cream, frozen yogurt, coffee and dessert shops, a neighborhood market, kayak, paddle board and bike rentals along with great shopping are all located on Avenida De La Playa, one block from the beach. Kayadon 1 is considered a well-equipped 1-1/2 bedroom, 1 bath unique beach cottage utilizing an open concept design. What is a half bedroom, you ask? The expanded living area can be sectioned off with a gliding wall for privacy to make a half bedroom with full-sized memory-foam murphy bed and closet. The kitchen includes all new stainless steel appliances and windows that open to create an indoor/outdoor dining area, seating up to six people. Serve up your family and friends, just like a local beach bar. The large out door living area has plenty of comfortable seating for people watching and enjoying the cool ocean breeze. For the evening, the fire pit and overhead market lights provide warmth and ambiance. The cottage is on La Jolla Blvd. which is active during the day, but quiets down at night. If you are a person who is an EXTREMELY light sleeper, we provide sound machines for each bedroom. Kayadon 1 can sleep 4 in beds depending on the closeness of your group with one queen and a full. Keep in mind, it will be cozy! The cottage is equipped with both washer and dryer as well as central air conditioning making your stay comfortable, no matter what the weather!

• Smoking is NOT permitted on the premises boundary (from where our driveway meets the street). This includes outside areas. Marijuana is NOT permitted to be Transported, Smoked or Stored on the property boundary. ( Anyone who has recently smoked marijuana is PROHIBITED from entering the property due to the fowl putrid odor transferring from the user, their clothes, breath to our interior) ZERO TOLERANCE IMMEDIATE EVICTION VIOLATION.

The ocean views were wonderful and the neighborhood was fun to explore. Thank you." - "This home was perfect for 2 couples. The first floor master suite and ground level entrance made it easily accessible/comfortable for my 83 yo parents & the views can't be beat. The upstairs master suite is lovely, spacious, and allows you to fall asleep to the waves every night. Location is in a quiet, walkable neighborhood (they were doing construction on a house a few doors down but it was never bothersome). We barely saw any neighbors and there was no issue with street parking in front of the house. Coffee, wine bar, and several restaurants are within easy walking distance. The house itself had a few minor wear and tear issues (freezer drawer and a pull out cabinet were very difficult to open and close), but nothing that detracted from the experience. My only suggestion to the hosts is to upgrade the outdoor furniture. The balcony/patio is the highlight of the home and where we spent the majority of our time. The fire pit is delightful, but the furniture around it is not remotely comfortable for any period of time. There's also very little shade offered by the small movable umbrella most of the day. A few nice outdoor couches and chairs with more (or a larger) umbrellas would make this home perfection."

This historic property (site of the La Jolla/Pacific Beach Electric Railway in the early 20th century) is surrounded by six acres of permanent open space. The property fronts on a paved path for bicycling and walking, so there is no street noise. Just a few steps up from the patio is a hot tub for two under a custom-designed redwood enclosure with tiny lights, equipped with two soft terry robes and beach towels. The property is on a gentle slope. Guests enter through a short private path. Spend time on another short path up the hill to a secluded platform and bench with an ocean view. THE SPACE
The La Jolla Shores Hideaway has recently been completely redecorated with a clean, modern, beach aesthetic. The condo has been designed with two separate entrances, and two separate living areas (kitchenette, living room, bathroom) that are joined in the middle, so that if there are two groups travelling together, each can have their own privacy if desired while still being able to easily connect with the other group. Alternatively, they flow together easily, if one family/group wants to spread out in the entire area.

The front living area has a separate bedroom with closet & King size bed. The back living area has an open concept with living room area, kitchenette & King size bed all open to each other. The back living area can be closed off completely from the front area, if your group would prefer it that way, or left open to flow easily through each side. Both living areas consist of a living room with ample seating including swivel chairs, a sofa that pulls out into a queen size bed, large TV with cable and Roku, kitchenette & full bathroom with marble clad, walk in shower. There is free Wifi throughout the condo.

The kitchenettes each have a microwave, sink, full/apartment size refrigerator/freezer, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker & electric kettle. There is also a propane BBQ grill available on the front deck with utensils.

There is a large deck off of the front living area which has an ocean view and overlooks Avenida de la Playa. The deck is private only to your group and has a comfortable/cushioned seating area, sun lounger and propane BBQ grill.

We have boogie boards, beach toys, umbrella, beach towels & beach chairs available for your use. We also have a small selection of board games to occupy your time when you aren't out exploring the area!

GUEST ACCESS
The entire condo will be available and private to your group while you are there.

It is important to note that the condo is on the second story of the building, therefore you will need to be able to climb one flight of stairs to access the condo.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Please note that the La Jolla Shores Hideaway is above a restaurant and right in the middle of the main part of La Jolla Shores, so there can be some background noise and music heard from the restaurant while it is open and people walking down the street. It isn't extremely loud but is definitely audible. The restaurant is open from 11am- 10PM.

Also note, that both kitchen areas are kitchenettes, so there is no stove or full size oven. We do have toaster ovens, microwaves, full size refrigerators, BBQ grill, electric kettles, etc. for cooking, warming, & storing meals.

Also, please note that two of the beds are sofa beds. One is in the main living room which is separate from the other bedrooms and one is in the same space as the second bedroom as it is set up like a studio apartment.

The Condo is on the 2nd story of the building, therefore all guests will need to be able to climb one flight of stairs to access the condo. There is no elevator available.

Throughout the house, the original art work of local award-winning artists James M Fisher is showcased; this is, as I understand it, the home where he grew up as a child, and he understands the light and textures of the sea there like no one else. For a magical escape that nourishes and restores both body and soul, surrounded by the beauty of nature, inspiring art, and charming architecture, I can't recommend Neptune enough."

The La Jolla Shores Beach Bungalow has been completely redecorated with a clean, modern, beach aesthetic.

The Beach Bungalow has 2 bedrooms and one full bathroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and comes stocked with many toiletries (including shampoo, conditioner & bath soap). Comfortable linens are provided.

One bedroom has a king size bed and the other has a queen size bed with a beachy vibe, room darkening shades and one set of linens provided. It's the perfect place to rest your eyes after a long day strolling the shores searching for shells or snorkeling with the (completely harmless but really beautiful) leopard sharks.

The kitchen is equipped with stove, oven, microwave, toaster and Keurig. We have all basic cooking pans and utensils so you can "stay in" comfortably when you're not enjoying all of the restaurants, coffee shops and markets in the area.

The living room area has plenty of seating including two sofas which can be pulled out into queen & full size beds. Linens are provided as well. Pease let us know if you plan on using the sofa beds so we can make sure all linens are ready for you. There is also a large tv in the living room area equipped with both cable and basic streaming apps.

There is free WiFi throughout the apartment.

We have boogie boards, beach toys, umbrella, beach towels & beach chairs available for your use. We also have a small selection of board games to occupy your time when you aren't out exploring the area!

Please note that the La Jolla Shores Beach Bungalow is above a restaurant and right in the middle of the main part of La Jolla Shores, so there can be some background noise and music heard from the restaurant while it is open and people walking down the street. It isn't extremely loud but is audible. The restaurant closes at 10PM.

The condo is on the 2nd story of the building, therefore all guests will need to be able to climb one flight of stairs to access the condo. There is no elevator available.

As required by the city of San Diego, all our guests must review and comply with San Diego's Good Neighbor Policy. We will be requesting for your email address in order to send this document as well as the stay packet prior to your stay.

Also, there is only street parking available. You may have to walk a block or few to get to the apartment when parked, however, we have not found it to be difficult to find parking during most of the year and give advice on where to look for parking if you do. In the summer months, on beautiful beach days, parking does become more difficult, but it becomes easier again overnight. I have, even on these days, been able to find parking following my recommendations. To avoid any issues on these days, you should plan accordingly but, if you can, we highly recommend leaving your car parked where you left it overnight and taking advantage of being only steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world:-) There is lots of non-time restricted parking in the area, so you can usually find a spot where you can park and leave your car, if that is what you decide to do! There is, additionally, a place close to the front and an alley in the back of the building where you can pull up and drop people & luggage off.

Quiet Townhouse nestled on a park with mature landscaping. It has a community pool, jacuzzi and BBQ area. There is limited off street parking as well as a two car garage shared with the other tenant. It has a large outdoor bridge deck for relaxing. It is ideal for a solo business professional, professor (it is less than a mile to UCSD) or traveling medical personnel as it is close to UCSD, Scripps and a short freeway drive to Kaiser and Rady's.

If you play the piano, by all means, enjoy playing my 1920s Steinway.

Spend time in my living room-dining room combination while enjoying a cup of coffee, reading a book, or working on your computer.

My front garden has two Martha Stewart chaise chairs and a high-top table. During warm days and evenings, it is a magical place to be surrounded by Mother Natue.

Stop in at our favorite 'hole in the wall' Mexican restaurant, Don Bravo Grill and Cantina, for super casual or picnic fare breakfast, brunch, dinner, or picnic for enjoyment at our local Calumet park overlooking the edge of the Pacific Coast.

Begin your evening with restaurant choices that include Italian, American, Mexican, LJ Crafted wine bar with charcuterie board, Wheat and Water designer pizza with addicting French fries, and healthy and creative salads, all within a few blocks away.

Boutiques, including clothing, massage, hair, nail, and facials, are within walking, biking, or a short Uber ride away. Businesses include computer repair, realtors, medical offices, CVS, and mail services.

Stroll around our Bird Rock village enjoying the pedestrian accessibility of: Gelson's grocery store, postal services and all of the above plus Bird Rock Surf Shop, surf boards, wetsuit rentals two blocks away. Electric bikes three blocks away.

Kick back and live like a local in this newly remodeled home in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to Windansea beach and La Jolla Village.
This is an ideal alternative to a hotel room.

Your guest room has it's own private entry, gorgeous bathroom with custom fixtures, large shower & includes a mini fridge/freezer with large ice cubes and filtered water in a 750 ml bottles. A Nespresso machine, pods, cups, creamers and sugars. Beach towels, umbrella & chairs included.

The space
Nicely appointed bedroom and bathroom within our newly remodeled home. It features a private side entrance. New Nectar queen size bed, 32” Samsung Smart TV, mini refrigerator/freezer and Nespresso machine. There are light filtering curtains on the windows with blackout cellular blinds behind them.

Although very private, this space is part of our home via an internal door. However, this door is fully locked and covered on both sides with thick sound absorbing curtains and bottom seal. Please do not disturb/move the curtain or open the door. Thanks.

Other things to note
The space has privacy and it’s own entrance. The room is centrally heated but has a small space heater and ceiling fan for your ideal temperature. There is no AC as we typically get a good breeze being so close to the coast. There is a ceiling fan. Also, we have a whole house water filter and softener system.

We do have a washer and dryer available for use by our guests. Both are easily accessible.

Finally, please understand that this is part of our home and quiet time is from 10pm until 8am. No additional guests, parties and especially NO SMOKING anywhere on the property (including yard/driveway). Thank you.
