This lakefront home is centrally located in Southern Illinois on Lake Centralia. This home has approx. 2300sqft with 3 bedrooms 2 full baths, great room w/ tongue & groove cathedral ceilings providing beautiful lake views. The spacious kitchen has a large island w/ solid surface countertops & bar area. Tucked away in cove is the private beach area with dock perfect for fishing or rafting. You will love the relaxing feel of lake living!

- "Upon check in we were so impressed with the cleanliness of this property. Even more impressive since this is a pet friendly property. Worth noting that the main entrance is on the upper level (with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom). Master and living space is down the stairs. Our special needs daughter has some mobility issues so we walked her down the small hill to the beach entrance. Not a big deal at all. That master bathroom is AMAZING! I wish I had the opportunity to use the jetted tub (definitely no worries about the “ick” factor with jets as the cleanliness of the rest of the property was reassuring.). The GINORMOUS shower was perfect for accommodating the shower chair my daughter uses when bathing. Kitchen was well stocked but we could have used more variety of pots as we did a fair amount of cooking. We loved the great big table by the window. Tons of linens/towels and even shower products. Now for the main reason I picked this place…the sandy beach. PERFECT!!! The water was so warm and calm. The gentle slope into deeper water made it so easy for my daughter to enjoy the water. The sandy beach was a great place for relaxing and building castles. Very sunny so we set up a pop up canopy for shade which kept us very comfortable. We did spot a turtle it 2 and had a few visitors from a big noisy bird. We usually like to try new areas on our vacations but would definitely consider putting this one on repeat."

Fishing in the pond by the owners home is available by request- dependent on weather and current activities. Bluegill, Red-ear, and Bass. Catch and release or keep for dinner. We offer a 2240 square foot ranch lake house on Lake Centralia. With 3 good sized bedrooms (5 beds = 2 full bunk bed /2 queen/1 king bed) and 2 full bathrooms there is plenty of room for everyone.

We love pets and all animals are considered on a case by case basis with an extra fee.

The space
The open floor plan has a large kitchen that opens to a game room on one end and the dining / family room at the other. The vintage style kitchen has everything you might need including full-sized appliances, coffee maker, toaster oven, dishes for 10 , cooking supplies and so much more (if you have specific questions please ask). Just bring your food and drink! Some spices and basic condiments are customarily available.
Everyone can join in the fun friendly competition in the game room with foosball, shuffle board, pool table, air hockey and darts. The game closet will provide hours of fun with board games, Twister, checkers, cards and toys for the young ones.
What’s outside?? Lots of peace and quiet or more fun! A 528 sq ft deck overlooks the lake with plenty of seating and room for dining as well.
Still want more? Tire swing, fire pit with firewood and s’more necessities, horseshoe pits and plenty of run around or whiffle ball room. Plus fishing off the dock-have rods and reels for your use!

Originally built in 1918 by a member of the Kohl family, this building has been a focal point of downtown Centralia ever since. The property features old world architecture, with its solid brick structure, rich woodwork, and spectacular courtyard. The location is beautiful! A perfect quaint place to relax. The property offers a dock, which is in a no-wake zone.

There is a charcoal grill available as well as outdoor seating. Enjoy a campfire in the fire pit. Bring your fishing poles to do some fishing off the private dock. Many enjoy swimming as well. Please note that these are farm and country roads and they can be a little uneven. The short drive leading up to the property is gravel. This is definitely an off the beaten path location but GPS will get you there. Depending on your system the city may either be listed as Salem or Centralia.

- "Cute and clean lake home. The game room provided activities for all ages. Taught some kids how to play pool and darts. Ample sleeping space. Kids had fun casting off the dock. So nice to have a private boat launch so close. Spent hours on the lake tubing and skiing. Our group of 10 had a blast." - "This was our 2nd visit to this home. My husbands family resides in Centralia. This home allows us to visit with plenty of space for us while not crowding our families homes. Everything at this home was great. This time we did not rent the boat so it was a bit hot as you really cant go in the water near the home. I did not rate full stars for cleanliness. This was only because of the outside. The grill was extremely dirty and we spent time cleaning it last time we stayed at this home, so we skipped grilling out this time. There was no place (hole) in the table to set the umbrella, and the deck was full of debris. I kept wishing there was a deck broom available as i would have been more than happy to sweep off the deck. Other than that the inside of the home was very clean and had everything you needed to cook meals. My only suggestion is more forks available. Thank you for sharing your home."

Sip a cup a coffee from the oversized porch each morning, go for a kayak or canoe ride, or just relax in this home away from home. Hope you enjoy your stay!

The space
There is a relaxing patio and beach directly across the road. There is a 2 person canoe on the beach and a single seat kayak under the carport that are available to our guests. The canoe paddles are on the front porch and there are some life jackets in the coat closet near the front door. Use of the canoe and kayaks are at our guests own risk.

This property is located near an oil well so a petroleum smell is noticeable during certain weather conditions.

We have dish network and rural internet connection which can be slow.

Guest access
Guest may park under the large carport during inclement weather. There is firewood for the fire pit under the carport. There are roasting sticks for hotdogs or marshmallows inside the coat closet.

Other things to note
We allow pets but would like to know before arrival. We kindly ask our guests to please keep your pets off the beds and furniture! There is a $25/pet cleaning fee. We ask that guests leave the $25/pet fee in the blue box by the microwave.
