6010 Canal Street, originally constructed in the 1880, is located in the heart of downtown Peninsula, and is very private, comfortable and quiet. It retains its historic charm while providing modern conveniences to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The house is filled with sunlight during the day, and the original hardwood floors, painted woodwork, exposed brick and lighting create a warm and cozy retreat at night. The large kitchen and the dining room provide great spaces for cooking & dining, playing board games or simply spending quality time together. The living area and front porch overlook the Cuyahoga River and Towpath Trail providing a great place to relax while enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an evening a glass of wine. The kitchen has been remodeled as of January/February 2025 and includes induction cooktop, built-in convection oven/microwave and many other conveniences. Photos will be posted in late February as renovations are completed.

6010 Canal Street is situated in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and a perfect base for your getaway. It has direct access to the Towpath Trail, Buckeye Trail and Cuyahoga River. It is a 1-minute walk to the shops of Peninsula; 2-minute walk to the Winking Lizard restaurant (a great food and selection of beers and whiskeys); Fishers Cafe & Pub; Century Cycles bike rental; and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad station, Catholic, Methodist and historic non-denominational churches, and 4-minutes to the Lock 29 trail head, G.A.R. Hall (Civil War museum and concert hall), Peninsula Art Academy or Peninsula Public Library (for books and dvds).

It was perfect for my mom and son to join me for a bite at the two local restaurants, followed by a hike on the towpath. There were a few things I had to contact the owner on and he was very responsive and helpful. The house is definitely historic, which I love! Be prepared for creaky floors and the dings and dents that come with age. However, very comfortable, the HVAC kept up during my first day which was near 90 degrees, and the home was well stocked with everything you could need. My favorite was the sanitizer wipes. I always like to wipe down light switches, pull knobs etc. The beds were comfy and the furniture in the house was well appointed. I always like to share positive and any downsides for future rental seekers. It’s tough to label anything as negative but if I had to, I’d say the parking could be troublesome if you have more than two cars. We maneuvered one afternoon when both my mom and son stopped by. It’s doable. The basement, like in any older home, has some moisture which you can smell as you enter the home. We did arrive after a huge rain so this may not even be a thing typically. I’m thankful when people keep the historic charm alive in homes like these. I’m even more thankful when people share them! Kudos to Paul for doing both. Thanks!"

You will find everything from women’s high fashion clothing to a charming old bookstore to a classic board games shop. You will also find a gastric pub and an exceptional wine cellar restaurant.

Drive north and in two miles you will be able to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Boston Mills / Brandywine Ski Resort.

Head south and in 12 minutes you will find Hale Farm and Village, as well as Blossom Music Center where you can hear a variety of musical artists, including the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra. Drive a little further to experience the impressive Stan Hewet hall.

- "We had a sibling reunion in Peninsula. There were four couples, so we each had our own bedroom. The rooms (although two were on the small side) were clean and comfortable each with their own bathrooms. The kitchen was very functional and the dining room easily accommodated all of us. The common areas were comfortable and the amenities such as books, games, and area info were plentiful. The laundry is a great bonus. The location can't be beat as it is a short walk to the restaurants and shops in Peninsula as well as easy access to the national park. The hosts were very communicative and took care of the one very minor issue we had promptly. One thing to be aware of is that the only bathrooms in the house are those associated with the bedrooms, so no common area half bath on the first floor or the like."

VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT

THE PARTIES HERETO, IN CONSIDERATION OF THESE PRESENTS, AGREE THAT:
1. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: GUEST must accurately disclose occupancy including the number of adults, children and animals that will occupy said rented premises in the booking data provided through the online platform. That determines the maximum occupancy at all times and applies to day visitors and children as well. Unless otherwise approved by your HOST, occupancy over the indicated capacity may result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of amounts paid.
2. NO SMOKING or Vaping or illegal drugs of any kind will take place in or on the premises. Violation of this will result in a $500 charge. Vaping or smoking outside with windows and doors closed is accepted. GUEST is liable for the full cost to remove any odor from the home in the case that it exceeds the above charge.
3. NO ANIMALS of any description will be kept in or on premises without prior approval by HOST. * Animal Addendum is required with this contract for approval of pets, emotional support or service animals.
4. DAMAGE POLICY & INSURANCE– Guests must select either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. The refundable security deposit will be held for 7 days post check-out and will be refunded provided there are no damages. The damage waiver is recommended.
There will be no charges in the case that there is no:
A) damage to property, its contents or furnishings,
B) dirt, trash or other mess requiring excessive cleaning
C) There is no negligent damage due to inclement weather. It is GUEST’S responsibility to secure items on premises in the case of inclement weather or outside conditions such as outdoor umbrellas, or any other item that may blow away or be damaged by high winds, or other inclement weather.
D) any other costs incurred by your Host because of your stay. Any damage to the Vacation Rental or its contents must be reported before check-out.
E) GUEST is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or the local law enforcement.
F) No linens are lost, stained, or damaged.
G) The unit is left locked and secured when unoccupied.
To ensure that the proper party is held responsible GUEST must inform management within 24 hours of arrival of any pre-existing damage or issues or may be held responsible for any cost involved in repair to be taken from the security deposit.
Damage not covered by, or exceeding the coverage limit of, the accidental rental damage insurance, Security Deposit, or booking platform coverage, is your full responsibility. In the case that an insurance claim must be file with homeowner's insurance, the guest is liable to pay the deductible. You grant your HOST the right to be reimbursed via the booking platform or your credit card for any such damages, including, but not limited to, additional cleaning fees. If the booking platform refuses reimbursement, HOST has the right to pursue reimbursement by reasonable means including small claims court and/or police report. HOST does not make a habit of filing claims or requiring reimbursement for small expenses under $50.
5. CLEANLINESS– You are expected to treat the entire premises with respect, keeping in mind that this is an individual’s home and you are a house guest. Outside you can lounge under the Thule awning with your morning coffee. There’s also an outdoor hot water shower to rinse yourself and your gear. Other outdoor conveniences include a power jack, quick release LP gas connection for outdoor grilling (grill not provided) and well placed electric outlets in the center of the patio.

Inside, your personal getaway features a rear U-shaped lounge that converts quickly to a 2 person bed. Overhead air conditioning and heat. There are also two oversized bunk beds tucked behind the kitchen pantry and across from the built in entertainment center. Bring your Fire Stick or watch the local news on the swivel television wired for cable or the rooftop antenna. There is also a Furrion AM/FM/MP3 player with Bluetooth capabilities pumping music through 4 speakers (2 indoor and 2 outdoor) that you control, so you can listen to your favorite tunes inside, outside or both.

The far side slide contains the kitchen that is equipped with a stainless steel sink, two-burner cooktop, 3-way fridge and convection oven/microwave combo. Opposite the kitchen is the wet bath complete with a basin sink, overhead sunlight, and exhaust fan. This little camper has tons of storage inside and out that must be seen to believe.

Quiet and cozy one bedroom apartment in a historic downtown Bedford building. It is ideal for a comfortable get away that is readily accessible to the major highways in the greater Cleveland area and is easy to get to The Cuyahoga County National Park, Cleveland Metroparks and local Hospital campuses. We are located directly above a bicycle shop near several restaurants, bars and grills, coffee shops, and unique shops.

The space is comfortable for one to three people. For more than two guests we have a sofa that pulls out to a twin size bed and we also offer a queen-size inflatable air mattress. We have a fully equipped kitchen and a separate bedroom and bathroom that is accessed through the bedroom.

Please be aware that we do have an older American Bulldog/Pitty mix named Daisy. She loves visitors & can be a loud & exuberant greeter, but she is a sweet & easy old lady. She has full run of the back yard & will sometimes come to investigate & say “Hi” outside the Airbnb fence if you’re on the patio.

With the trees you can barely see any neighboring houses and it is a nice nature environment in the yard. The driveway off Wallings curves up to the house and there is plenty of parking up by the house.

Our house is located in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park which is renowned for cycling and hiking, with countless trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Bicycles can be rented a mere 1/2 mile away. We welcome visitors from all walks of life.

The space
Peninsula is a quaint village in Northern Summit County, Ohio, United States with a population of 600 and is part of the Cleveland - Akron Metropolitan Area. Located in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Peninsula has many hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Cycling is extremely popular here, with bike rentals (Century Cycle) 1/2 mile away for those who prefer to travel without their bikes. The Blossom Music Center is conveniently located on its outskirts. The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail runs through the village just west of downtown, and many cyclists and hikers stop for refreshments as it's the midway point between Akron and Cleveland.

There are two restaurants in the village (Fisher’s Café and The Winking Lizard) within walking distance which serves well the needs of the most distinguished beer aficionados. The quaint city of Hudson is 5 miles away with numerous restaurants, shops and bars.

Our air-conditioned guest house is a two-story home, which may be difficult for those who have issues with stairs (bedrooms and bath are on the second floor). It has a fully-equipped kitchen including many small appliances as well as laundry facilities. We are located on the Cuyahoga River well off the street in an area that is full of wildlife, notably deer and a large variety of birds.

Amish Country with its peaceful and pastoral views as well as tourist areas, can be reached in about 40 minutes.

Simple farm building entryway with four-foot wide carriage door opens into a great room with timbered cathedral ceiling with full kitchen, large dining table, and upholstered furniture. Small hilly pasture leading to a deep ravine can be seen out back windows. Enjoy watching the chickens from the deck or windows during the spring, summer and fall. Bathroom has a full-size shower.
