The downstairs unit is owner occupied. This apartment is not for partying. If you want to "let your hair down", do it in our local bars, and then safely walk back for a good night's sleep.

We wanted to stay within walking distance of Progressive Field and we could not have chosen a more perfect location than Duck Island Getaway. Tucked in Ohio City where you are within minutes of wonderful breweries, restaurants and the West Side Market, this place puts you in the perfect place to enjoy this developing area of Cleveland. We did not want to rent a car and this unit is a couple of blocks from the Rapid Transit train station that runs from the airport. Very easy to walk to the unit. Our host, Mark, was easy to reach and super prompt to respond. He kindly offered to allow us to drop off our luggage so we could explore Ohio City before our check-in time. This unit is very nicely furnished with everything we needed. We did not need to go out for any basic necessity, and we were treated with some chocolates on the table and coffee, cream and sugar for mornings. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all enjoyed the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. Mark and his wife were perfect hosts and available for any questions. We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it to all."

- "We stayed in this house for two nights. We came in super late Thursday night and the driveway at 1am while sleep deprived will test your senses but is completely doable. We drove a dodge caravan and it fit just fine! After parking everything else was PERFECT!!!! Super clean, super cute. Everything you need is right there. Including the umbrella for for the table on the back deck. We hiked to "Blue Hen Falls" in the morning (its about a 25 min drive to Cuyahoga Valley National Park) We walked almost everywhere else we went, and not once did I feel uncomfortable outside. Brew Dogs, Great Lakes Brewing Company all good food and great beer! The Porco Lounge &Tiki room is an 8 min walk and is phenomenal. We did walk to the Stadium (about half hr walk) for a Friday night game and got an uber back. We went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the next morning (8 min drive) All in all is was a great place start to our baseball weekend and We will DEFINITELY RETURN~!"

- "We checked in after a long drive to find the WiFi wouldn’t work so the kids couldn’t watch tv, the property manager told us this is an ongoing issue he doesn’t know why owner hasn’t fixed issue. The towels and sheets were in the washer still dirty- we didn’t realize until my daughter went to take a shower. The shower is fancy but had a serious leak onto the floor which we spent an hour cleaning up waiting for help from the property manager who never followed up. Evolve the rental company also never followed up. We had to check out and move to a hotel last minute which was very expensive and inconvenient. "

There is an old world charm about Ohio City - a strong-knit community where you'll find people taking a walk with their small kids or their dogs, out for a run, grabbing coffee at the great local coffee shops (a 5 minute walk away!) and enjoying the local restaurants. You'll be in the heart of Ohio City's top restaurants, breweries and bars. The West Side Market is a 7 minute walk away and within a 3 minute drive you'll hit Tremont's restaurant and bar lined streets, and downtown Cleveland's best and Stadium! The Cleveland Clinic is a 10 minute drive away as well.

The home is located 2 minutes off the highway and a few minutes from downtown Cleveland. We are surrounded by restaurants and cafes all within a couple minutes walk and only a 10 minute walk to the famous West 25th Street filled with restaurants, ice cream parlor, the West Side Market, as well as a large grocery store, Dave’s. Driving times to the Stadium or other venues downtown is 5 minutes - the Cleveland Clinic is 10 minutes away. Uber and Lyft are always available day and night around Ohio City and only a couple minutes’ away when you order!

- "Clean rental, however door did not lock half the time. Bottom door handle was just there for show. Stairs were very icy and steep in the snow. Rental had general wear and tear which a pipe exposed through the ceiling near the TV. There was not a lot of seating in the living room which is surprising for a rental that sleeps 6 comfortably. Just honest feedback here. We enjoyed the time we were there."

For more than 40 years the Near West Side/Ohio City has been our home, and we wouldn't live anywhere else. It's diverse and friendly, walkable and interesting. The people are as unique as the architecture, and in recent years there's been an explosion of new restaurants, shops, breweries and people walking their dogs.

The RTA bus to downtown is 3 blocks away, and the Red Line train to the airport is a ten minute walk. You can easily walk or bike to West 25th St. with its many bars, shops and restaurants as well as the fantastic West Side Market.

The Gordon Square Arts District is only a mile west, downtown less than two miles east, and beautiful University Circle, with its colleges, museums and Severance Hall, home of the Cleveland Orchestra is a 15-minute drive (also accessible by the Red Line train).

Within a 4 block radius: Rising Star Coffee (best in town); The Transformer Station, a unique contemporary art space (free!); Momocho, Le Petit Triangle, and Johnny Mango (food & drink); Fairview Park (lovely green space just across the street); St. Patrick's Catholic and Franklin Circle UCC churches (if you're so inclined). A bike/walk trail to Edgewater Park on Lake Erie starts just a few blocks away.

Side entrance leads directly upstairs to the room and bath. You can come and go as you please. (If climbing stairs is difficult for you, we may not be your best choice).

Front porch is a pleasant place to watch the neighborhood go by, we encourage you to enjoy it and/or the back deck and garden.

If mobility is an issue, because it's a 2nd floor room, there are stairs to climb.

The Petite Back House features an open floor plan with a tiny, fully equipped kitchenette, cooking utensils supplied, dining room, in-suite laundry; compact but very efficient and modern. This is a true historic home built in 1850 which gives the house plenty of character and some notable eccentricities - house settling sounds, small cracks here and there, or the occasional plumbing quirk are normal with a home of this age. Rest assured that the home is maintained with high-quality care by the owner who lives on site & is always available for any support needed on.

The house is equipped with central AC, but it is not always sufficient while experiencing extreme heat so two window AC units are provided for summer months.

This quaint century colonial home has a clean, fully furnished, smoke-free (no smokers or smoking) upstairs apartment unit available. There are 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and front sitting space facing the park. The bathroom is at the back of the house with a large claw foot tub and hand held spray for use in the tub. There is NO shower due to the slanting roof ceiling.

One bedroom is furnished with a twin bed, dresser, bedtable, and lamp. The other is larger with a dresser, lamp, bed tables, and a full sized mattress bed. The living room has a sofa, recliner, coffee table, lamps, card table, office chair, and includes internet, antenna TV, and DVD player. Books, games, and DVD's are in the bookcase for your use. The house is located just 2 blocks from public transportation, 20 min. from the Cleveland International Airport, walking distance to the local library, several restaurants, pubs, shops, and the West Side Market. It is just 1.8 miles to downtown Cleveland, the home of The Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians, as well as Playhouse Square, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Science Museum, and a multitude of pubs and restaurants. Just 5 min. away, in the Detroit/Shoreway neighborhood (W. 65 St.) you will find more restaurants, coffee cafes, and the renovated Capitol MovieTheater, Near West Theater and Cleveland Public Theater (live performances and musicals).

Several hospitals are relatively close by and numerous medical personnel have stayed here for various rotations over the past years.
