My three kids age ranging 11-12 and hubby felt very safe walking around. As far as parking there’s no parking garage but we were able to find nearby meter parking. 3 hrs was the limit until 10 pm however was able to find great free parking spots going towards H mart grocers. Overall, first time experience with Sonder properties truly exceeded my family and I’d expectations. All well worth it and would love to use Sonder again for future vacation stays. We’re apparently among the early visitors. We were on the second floor (a walk-up) (we’re a couple in our 70s, still reasonably mobile; stairway to 2nd floor could be challenge for some). The 2nd floor can accommodate up to 7, say, for a group, or a smaller number of individuals or couples. Three 2nd floor bedrooms, small, (each with its own digital lock); but spacious common TV, dining area, and modern kitchen, and modern bathroom — all simply but tastefully appointed. The immediate neighborhood is not fancy but seemed safe. A $15 Uber/Lyft ride to downtown, slightly more from/to O’Hare. For us, making a short overnight stay en route to connecting with Chicago friends and rental car travel to a neighboring state, this was an excellent value, and an enjoyable guesthouse experience!"

Check-in could not be easier with coded entries at the street and the coach house. We had checked with the owners in advance to learn that there were only stairs with handrails leading up to the living quarters, but none indoors, which was important to us. A full kitchen allows you to stock up on food and drink, and the dining room table sits 4 comfortably. If you’re in the mood to watch your favorite show, kick back in the living room – we have Chromecast so all you need to do is cast from your phone. Easy street parking in our neighborhood, no permits needed. Make sure to read the signs for street sweeping one side of our street is the first Tuesday of every month (excluding certain winter months) and the other side is the first Wednesday. The Western Blue Line is a quick 12 min walk (1/2 mile) which offers direct access to downtown, Wicker Park & O'Hare airport. The 606 walk/bike/jog path entrance is 4 blocks up on Rockwell. Walk less than a mile (directly East on North Ave.) to the heart of Wicker Park. - "Property is as described. Very clean and updated. Bed was a very comfortable king size. Kitchen and bathroom have everything you need. We never had troubles finding a spot for parking on the street near the house. The owners were very accomodating with us when we had delayed arrival and departure due to flight issues. I think there must be an AC unit or a furnace inside one of the closet which was a little noisy when we arrived, but owner must be aware of that and we did not hear it at night. Also basements in general can get a little chilly when AC goes in the rest of the house, something to keep in mind in general. Overall this was the best stay on this trip so far and I would definitely recommend the place."

There's free street parking that's first come, first serve. Most of the time we're able to park within 500 feet of the door, but if it's super busy, you might have to park a short block or two away. If that happens, feel free to throw on your flashers and drop bags in the unit before parking.

You're a 3 minute walk from the Chicago blue line stop, which runs direct to O'Hare Airport. From Midway Airport, you could take the orange line into the city and then exchange at Clark/Lake to the blue line for 2 stops to get to the Chicago blue line stop.

The blue line and 56/66 buses can get you to plenty of exciting spots in the city! The Salt Shed is just down the street, about a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive.

This is your launching pad to see the city! It is a vintage apartment with your own private entrance and space. It is within walking distance of a large selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. With a bicycle, cab, Uber/Lyft, bus or EL train you can be downtown in minutes. In close proximity to many of Chicago's great locations such as Wrigley Field, The United Center, White Sox Park, etc... Located in the Ukrainian Village it is a safe, welcoming neighborhood with plenty of history.

Like many places in Chicago it has some 100year old unique characters. This is a garden unit as we call it in Chicago which means its a couple steps down below outside grade. There are also plenty of modern details though like fast and reliable wi-fi connection and charging ports for phones/electronics. There is a office with a office desk/chair to work on. The bedroom has a queen sized bed with a dresser and closet. I provide two suit case stands. It has a large TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and locals stations to watch. I provide some guide book information about the city. We put together a guide book of walk-able neighborhood suggestions. If you are long term traveling you have access to free washer and dryer. Please be aware that you may need to duck slightly in some isolated spots especially if you are above my height of 5'-10". I have no issues at my height but I do have to duck a little to get in the main door.

2. No additional visitors - Only those listed on the reservation may enter the property. Any additional visitors must be declared and pre-approved.

3. Respect quiet hours - Keep noise levels down, especially between 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM. Failure to respect quiet hours or disturbances from an unauthorized gathering will result in termination of the reservation without refund and may result in additional fines to pay city tickets or HOA fines for violations.

4. Check-out on time - Please vacate the unit and return any issued keys by the agreed check-out time. Late check-outs will incur a $250 fee.

5. No smoking - Smoking of any kind is prohibited inside the unit and on the building premises. Evidence of smoking, including odor, will result in a $500 remediation charge. Local laws also prohibit smoking within 15 feet of any entrance.

6. Lockouts & lost keys - A $150 lockout fee applies per occurrence. Lost keys or remotes will incur a $50 replacement fee each.

7. Lost & found - We are not responsible for lost items. If something is left behind, we will attempt to locate it and ship it at your expense. Please check all drawers and closets before departure.

The room is small and could be good for short stays and for 1 guest, if you are 2 guests maybe this is going to be too small specially for luggage but could be a good option if you want to save some money as this is one of the most affordable options we can provide. If you are 2 guests and want to be more comfortable we recommend to book 2 bedrooms.

You will have to go through 30 steps or more to get in the apartment .

As most of United States Houses this is not made with concrete so you will hear people walking. It doesn’t bother most of the people but if you are a very light sleeper you should choose a modern apartment (three floor apartments or traditional houses all has the same problem) or have an earphone or something for block the sound.

We don’t consideraste this share place a good fit for kids, specially if they are younger than 8 years old.

We have an average WiFi if you need a very fast one you may considérate another option that could guarantee you that. If by any chance there is an WiFi outage we will work to solve it as soon as we can but won’t be responsible as that could happen with any internet provider in Chicago.

Bathroom, kitchen , living room , and hallway are share and even though we cleaned every single day in the morning, other guests could leave it dirty, or stinky, or messy after we cleaned, so it will be like that until the next day in the morning when our team clean again the space. Welcome to our lovely home! This place is literally next to Downtown Chicago. The freeway is just one block away so it’s easy to get in&out of the City. Free parking on the street(24/7). It has a train station only 0.5miles(10-12minutes walk) this train goes to Downtown & Airport. best thing! it has a bus stop right by the door of the building. This bus goes to the heart of downtown. Two bathrooms, wiFi, coffee maker, iron, shampoo, towels, everything you might need.

You can use both full bathrooms, kitchen, the living room and everything that we have at this place. In the room you will have a comfy queen size bed, night stand, lamp, iron, iron table, clean towels, clean sheets, comforter. The room has a lock from the outside. We provide WiFi, coffee, shampoo, body soap, hair dryer, hair brush, toilet paper, etc.

The room has one full size bed. If you want to add 3rd or 4th guest in the reservation I could add 1 extra air mattress with no extra fee if the reservation is set for 3 or 4. If the reservation is for 2 and you’d like to have an extra air mattress we charge $15p/night and we provide air mattress and linens for it. the room will become smaller for luggage becase you will have two beds on it. 1-You are a light sleeper or sensitive to noises: as you’ll hear everything, even when someone flush the toilet as Chicago houses are not make with concrete. The neighborhood is also noisy. We recommend to bring earplugs because you can expect noises.

2-If you are meticulously with cleaning: as even though we clean the place you can expect that other guests you share with could be not as clean as you wish and even though once a day the cleaner cleans if they already left and someone leave something dirty it’s going to remain like that until next day.

3- if you don’t tolerate smells: as you can expect cigarette smell, marihuana smell, strong food smell, body odor smell, animal smell, humidity smell, perfumes, air fresheners, but also you can expect the share bathroom left stinky specially after someone use it and any other kind of smell even in your bedroom because as we have central heat / AC any smell will circulate from the whole house. We don’t allow to cook smelly food and we will warn our guests when they do it and also we don’t allow smoking inside and we will enforce 200$ fine to those who do it, but sometimes you can expect that people won’t read the rules and can break those while we enforce them. You can expect any kind of smell at any share apartment as this one.
