When you stay at our 3 bed 2 bath El Porto Duplex, your group will have access to 2 separate apartments. The larger apartment in the front of the property includes 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Your group will sleep on fantastic memory foam mattresses wrapped in fine linens and wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. Almost every day is sunny. The average temperature is between 65-75 degrees. The beach is a few steps away and there are great restaurants within walking distance. The infamous Strand sidewalk runs north and south for 26 miles along the beach. If you like to be active, a car is not necessary!

Come and live and play like a local in our coastal inspired guest apartment, in the highly desirable Sand Section just steps from the famous white sand of Manhattan Beach, California. This large 700 square foot studio apartment has a private entrance, parking for one car, and everything that you need to experience beach life at it's best. It's walking distance to the Pier and the downtown area, the heart of the city (as well as Hermosa Beach) which is filled with casual to fine dining restaurants, boutique shops and retailers.

The Surf Room is conveniently located on one of Manhattan Beach's famed walkstreets, a short walk to the sand and bike path in the popular south end.

The Surf Room is our large beach-oriented studio apartment. It has plenty of room for relaxing, as well as ample storage (hooks for hanging beach paraphernalia, towels and beach bags, cubbies for storage). It has a separate bathroom area with a walk in shower, a bar area for morning coffee and/or afternoon drinks and snacks, lots of seating for just hanging out. You will also have access to a private outdoor area with views of our lovely beach, use of bikes, and beach supplies that you may need during your visit. And parking for one car right outside your door! Our family enjoys it, and we'd love to share it with you.

The unit is set up to accommodate two people. A maximum of 2 people are allowed to stay overnight in the Surf Room. Any adjustment to this must be OK'ed by us at time of booking.

Our unit is in a prime location, steps to the sand, walk to downtown Manhattan Beach with shops and restaurants, also a 20-minute walk or short bike ride to Hermosa Beach with it's restaurants and nightlife. *Please note* our home is located in a lovely residential neighborhood, so large groups, excessive noise, and late nights are discouraged. Absolutely no smoking or vaping (or use of any type of illegal drugs) allowed on the property, including on the patio.

It’s designed specifically to be extremely comfortable for a fabulous getaway.
The apartment has unique amenities. You will have a coveted parking spot right in town (PLEASE NOTE - A LARGE SUV WILL NOT FIT IN THE PARKING SPOT). It's also one of the few places at the beach with air conditioning (Hopefully not needed, but you never know). For kids and adults we have sand toys, boogey boards, beach towels and umbrellas. And of course, the unbeatable location.

This is an apartment to relax in with friends or family. Absolutely no parties whatsoever, or loud noise. Please respect the neighbors.

Wake up and fry an egg in the sunny eat-in kitchen, using the vintage, professionally refurbished O'Keefe & Merritt cobalt blue stove. We LOVE this delightful stove, and so do our guests—in fact, we find it provides a more even heat than today’s sleek, modern models.

A turquoise back splash, custom-made self closing cabinets and dining area with exotic monkey pod wood bar top and vintage tractor seat stools give the whole kitchen the feel of a fun Mexican restaurant—a great space to spend a night in.

The bathroom includes a brand new, cast iron claw foot tub with shower. Sink into it with a glass of wine! The toilet and pedestal sink are brand new, too. But we maintained the Spanish influence with custom made tiles, a new light fixture from Mexico, and a vibrant paint color.

One of our guests called it a “mini Mexican mansion”— The home is decorated with beautiful authentic Mexican furniture, light fixtures and artwork for our guests to enjoy.
