This interior designers cozy renovated Spanish home was built in 1923.the house has 2 bedrooms, 2 and a half bathrooms, dining and living room, a great kitchen with breakfast bar, hardwood floors and tiles throughout (1700 sq. feet / 520 sq meters). This home is kept home very clean and uncluttered. The decor is eclectic with treasures, art and furniture that the owner collected while traveling all over the world. The house is not suitable for young children. Unfortunately, I can't take bookings, nor visitors with children under the age of 12. I also do not allow pets.

The spa-like garden and covered patio is private for guests with sun loungers and an outside a shared garden and dinning area that can be heated at night. The heated cabana style patio is furnished with luxurious Restoration Hardware furniture and succulent potted plants. All areas of the house and garden are well lit during the night.

High speed Wi-Fi all around the house, 42-inch high-definition TV with 800 cable TV channels. Brand new Washer and dryer, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, state-of-the-art Viking range with oven. There is coffee machine, which I supply the coffee and tea in the kitchen and the drinking water is filtered. Microwave.

The MASTER BEDROOM with en suite bathroom is decorated with art, rugs, books. CAL king bed with lush linens. Double-glazed French doors open to the garden and patio.

The 2nd BEDROOM with en suite bathroom with bathtub, is decorated with vintage accessories and framed 1970's prints. Queen size Tempurpedic bed with lush cotton sheets.

Both rooms have blackout roller blinds and curtains, iron & board, hairdryer, and extra blankets. Plenty of fresh towels, all laundered with hypoallergenic eco-friendly detergent. I provide basic toiletries like hand-soap, toilet paper and facial tissues. All you have to do is pack your suitcase!

The owner maintains the house and live and work in the guesthouse in the back of the property which is separate from the main house.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS SAFE.I provide a FREE PARKING and Tesla charger.
Public buses, going in all directions are within a 1 minute walk. The bus stop to the beach in Santa Monica is a 2 min walk. Ubers arrive very promptly when ordered. Above all, I would like you to have a relaxed and inspiring visit at my little oasis in the City of Angels where good things happen!

- "We didn't have a comfortable two nights stay. One shower wouldn't drain and was unusable. The other one struggled to get hot water. The "comfort home" is in a backyard. The deck stares at the living room and bedrooms of that house infront of it. Other windows/views face fences or an alley with construction, homeless and tents that played the radio loud at night. Rooms had no blackout curtains and it faced east, making it hard to sleep in. To get to the house you have to walk by the side door of the front houses kitchen and living room. Someone was staying there and it was awkward for both parties when we came and went. There was no true privacy here. For the cost and the commission Expedia charges you can find much better, higher quality places within a 10 min drive of this residence for a lower price. Don't make the mistake we did. We informed the host about the issues we had and how we didn't have a good stay. They had nothing more to say than "sorry to hear that"."

With Free WIFI all around the house, this very light and airy room has a separate private entrance; not through the main house. Empty hanging closet with shelves. Double French doors open to lush garden and patio. Framed art, bedside table and lamp, rugs, desk and office chair. Lush cotton sheets and bedspread, 4 pillows, extra blanket and portable fan. Halogen recessed lighting throughout the bedroom, window blinds, curtains and hair dryer. Iron and ironing board are located in the closet.

There is a new mini fridge & new Hamilton Beach single serve coffee pod maker (which replaced the large maker with glass carafe shown in some photos). Cups, glasses, plates, utensils and complementary 2 bottles of water. The main house and kitchen area are not part of the shared facilities. These amenities and dishware are available upon request.

Plenty of fresh towels all laundered with hypoallergenic eco-friendly detergent. Basic toiletries like hand-soap, toilet paper and facial tissues are in the room. Other toiletries can be provided on request.

After the professional photos were taken, we decided to add a small table to hold the microwave and coffee maker which are shown in some of the photos. Under the table is the mini-fridge which is in one of the photos as well. They all sit neatly in the corner of the room near the French doors. The private lush garden patio is for our guests. We occasionally access the garage through the side entrance which is attached on one side of the patio. The patio is furnished with comfortable table, chairs and succulent potted plants. All areas of the house and garden are well lit with Malibu Lights during the night.

We will be happy to try and take care of any special requests before and during your stay. We would like you to have a relaxed and inspiring visit at out little oasis in the City of Angeles!

Security

There are two security cameras at the exterior front entrance of the house.

Guest Access

The house is gated, quiet and secure. You will get a code for the front gate and a key for access to your room through your own private entrance - to go in and out as you please. Bathroom is en-suite. You are invited to enjoy the table and chairs outside under the Palm trees and Birds of Paradise. The back patio area is private for our guests. During the day, you might hear the family next door as some afternoons their kids can be heard playing for a short time. Once a month the meter reader for the city utilities walks through the back yard to read the meter quickly.

While we don't list the kitchen as part of amenities, we will gladly keep larger food items in our refrigerator for you or if possible heat it up for you at your request. Parking is FREE on the street in front of the house. Be sure to let me know if you will have a car as permits are requited. They must be placed on the dashboard of the car on a daily basis.

Interaction with Guests

The only interaction will be with me or my partner Jaime, but we have a separate entrance. We have a Labrador Mix dog named Xena. She is a rescue and is very friendly and loves to play. You may see us come or go through the garage in the front part of the garden patio from time to time. We live in the main house and rent out the Master Garden Suite. The gardeners come on Wednesdays or Thursdays and have access to the property to clean and trim the grass and trees.

For guests with cars, please be aware of street cleaning on Monday and Tuesday from 12n to 3pm. Tickets are $73 and they are very strict.

The Space:
Located in Hancock Park, #TheMaisonNet is just off one of L.A.'s most famous streets, Melrose Avenue - in a walkable neighborhood filled with charming tree-lined streets, and excellent local coffee shops and stores. This not-so-tiny home has plenty of space for everything you bring. While the layout can accommodate up to 4 people two guests are perfect; a third can sleep on the fold-out couch in the loft, and a fourth guest can sleep in the loft net if needed.

Speaking of loft nets: hands down, my favorite part of designing this space was realizing we could utilize part of the second floor as a fun, funky hangout space: yep, you can lay in it! The loft features a projector, sofabed, in-wall dresser, skylight, the loft net, and an absurd amount of pillows. I have a feeling this will be the most popular hangout spot in the house.

The private bedroom has a sliding pocket door for additional privacy and is furnished with a hybrid queen memory foam and spring mattress, dual nightstands with lamps (each featuring USB and electrical ports), plenty of drawers and closet space, a new Smart T.V and... well… a shower that will certainly bring some heat to the bedroom. End your day under the waterfall shower beneath a massive skylight in this beautiful modern open bathroom.

Don't be fooled by the minimalist kitchen design; you'll have everything you need to pretend you're cooking yourself dinner from scratch (even when you're actually walking around the corner to eat at the famous Pink's Hotdogs). The custom-built kitchen features a new refrigerator, microwave/oven combo, cooktop, and two coffee stations (yes two… a Nespresso maker and also a french press, because we love coffee). There are also pots, pans, silverware, plates, cleaning supplies, and most importantly…a dishwasher! Its hiding behind two drawers that aren’t really drawers.

In terms of amenities, we've got you covered. You'll have access to minor yet essential things like an iron, blow dryer, towels, soap, and a shared washer and dryer (located in the mini-laundry room just off the main house in the backyard). The projection screen in the loft and the flat-screen T.V. in the bedroom are both 'smart' and will connect you to your streaming services (just make sure to log out when you leave).

And lastly, we are geeks when it comes to 'smart home' stuff. Everything is smart. Alexa can control the lights, the heated floors, the locks, the music, the projection screen, the blinds, the skylight, and even… the faucet. Yes, you can tell Alexa to pour different measurements of water! (Overkill? Yes. But fun. Keep an eye out for little notes around the house for things to try out.)

2. The Main House (2b 2b house where we live).
3. #TheNomadPad (studio for long-term airbnb renters).

#TheMaisonNet and #TheNomadPad share a large backyard, and both have access to the washer and dryer located in the mini-laundry-unit… ok its a shed, but its a cute shed. You'll have access to the entire tiny home. There are two entrances, a private one through the alleyway and the other through the side gate of the main house. Both doors are smart and will open with the code you receive when you book.

The Neighborhood:
Honestly, you’re at the corner of 4 awesome neighborhoods. I’d say we are technically in Handcock Park.

Hancock Park is a genteel residential enclave dating back to the 1920s. Well-preserved mansions in architectural styles such as Tudor and Italian Revival occupy large lots with broad lawns and porticos. Surrounding the Wilshire Country Club, the area includes Windsor Square and Larchmont Village, which features a quaint shopping and dining strip. Synagogues on La Brea Avenue serve the Orthodox Jewish community

But you’re also so close to Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Fairfax district. It truly is the best of so many worlds.

Getting Around:
The neighborhood is very walkable. We are literally feet from Melrose Ave.

Parking: you’ll have 1 pass which allows you to park on the street.

Metered Parking: There is also metered parking along Melrose if you need additional parking.

Scooters: Bird, Lyft, and Lime are all fun apps you can download to use scooters to get around.

Uber/Lyft: Use ride sharing to avoid drinking and driving.

Subway: Believe it or not, we have a subway! Uber to the subway in Hollywood and get back and forth to places like Downtown without getting stuck in traffic!

Other Things to Note:
There are visible exterior cameras in the alleyway entrance, the backyard, and ring doorbells that monitor people coming and going to maintain secure premises. Cameras are only on the exterior, and THERE ARE NO CAMERAS INSIDE THE AIRBNB.

There is a noise monitor in the unit to detect if sound levels go beyond a certain level (and can be used to detect unauthorized parties). THIS DOES NOT RECORD SOUND; it only alerts us when the decibels get too high, especially from 10 pm to 8 am.

Interaction with Guests:
Because of our jobs we may not be living in the main house during your stay, however we are always available by phone or through the airbnb app. If we are home, you’re always welcome to come knock on the door should you need anything, but text may actually be quicker.

There are three living spaces here at Melrose Space: The Slytherin Studio or NomadPad (where you will be staying), the Tiny Home next door, and the Casita/Main House in the front. THE BACK YARD IS A SHARED SPACE.

You can access the studio through the side gate. It’s very private and all of my guests get along great. The door to the studio is smart and will open with the personal code you receive when you book.

The Laundry Shed is only shared with the Tiny Home next door. The front house has its own laundry.

Honestly, you’re right at the intersection of 4 awesome neighborhoods. Just minutes North is Hollywood, East is Larchmont, South is Hancock Park and West is Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. The neighborhood is residential, family friendly, and very WALKABLE.

The house is located in the best area of Los Angeles, on a residential street, you are less than 5-10 min away to Beverly Hills, Rodeo Dr, Sunset Strip, The Grove, West Hollywood, and numerous shops and restaurants.

SAFETY:
The neighborhood is extremely safe. It is ok to walk around in the early morning or late at night.

HOUSE:
Living room of the house is cozy and relaxing. There is a fire place, plenty of books, L shape couch with pillows, and Cable TV with 200+ channels.
Dinning room is fine with designer furniture.
2 Bedroom have Queen size bed, 1 bedroom have King size bed. All the rooms have plenty of closet space, and mirrors.
We can provide you with an extra air mattress if you need to.
There are 3 bathroom in the house.

The back yard of the house is large and completely private. There is a large oasis pool with waterfall & jacuzzi, fire pit and garden dinning area.

Parking? Yes, there's on-street permit-parking directly in front of the villa, viewable from indoors, day and night. At night, the street is illuminated by several high-intensity LCD street lamps. Host provides permit, returnable w/key at end of stay.

Public transit? Yes. Metro bus stops on Beverly Blvd. only two blocks away, a 2-min walk. Metro bus stops on W. Third St., about four blocks away, a 7-min walk. These give access to Metro bus lines going east to downtown and west to Beverly Hills, Westwood, West LA and Santa Monica, etc. Useful Metro bus #14 going east at Gardner/Beverly connects quickly to Metrorail station at Vermont/Beverly. From there, visits to the various areas, whether Hollywood, Downtown, or even Exposition Park (the California Science Center--via #754 bus) possible and take about 25-40 min. Taking the bus the other way, west, first, gets you to a number of north-south buses (207/217) at Beverly/Fairfax, and onward in about 40 min to places like Getty Center in West LA/Brentwood. Metro "Rapid" buses are express buses also available to the Westside. Please utilize search programs and maps, of course, to scope your destination(s) while using system. Also, plan on visiting a number of places within an area such as Hollywood or Downtown, since it's mostly feasible to visit only one of those areas per day.

Kitchen amenities? Yes, these include basic stoneware, silverware, pots, pans, glassware, containers, appliances, etc.

House stays cool? This part of L.A. sufficiently inland and elevated that the installed ceiling fan & A/C unit are rarely needed. Villa stays cool on the hottest days--five windows open to and admit the daily, southwesterly, offshore breeze. Coastal L.A.'s climate is very cool and dry, with low humidity, few bugs. Patio's French door, tall side windows openable.

Is the area safe? Yes, residents freely use the sidewalks and streets at night, but not noisily, to reach their cars and attend parties and get-togethers, which are common. Front patio and street parking in front of house bathed in beams of light from bright LCD streetlights steps away. House has own exterior lights, barred windows, and deadbolt locks.

On-site professional agent-manager? Yes. Available 24/7 by messaging, phone or "live" by appointment to assist with maintenance, cleaning, security, emergencies and guests' other needs.

Is area "hip"? Yes, it's a hip combination of quiet/private, on the one hand, and metropolitan/cosmopolitan, even touristy, on the other.

Food stores nearby? Yes, again, you'll be able to take a short walk to multiple Ralphs, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Erewhon food stores nearby.

Close subway station? Besides Vermont/Beverly, there's Hollywood/Highland, site of Kodak Theater and film industry's annual Academy Awards ceremony.

Earthquake hazard? No. House has withstood all L.A.-area tremors/earthquakes for many decades without damage. Its foundation lately serviced and retrofitted to the frame (during calendar years 2016 and 2017).

Parking? Yes, there's on-street permit-parking directly in front of the villa, viewable from indoors, day and night. At night, the street is illuminated by several high-intensity LCD street lamps. Host provides permit, returnable w/key at end of stay.

Public transit? Yes. Metro bus stops on Beverly Blvd. only two blocks away, a 2-min walk. Metro bus stops on W. Third St., about four blocks away, a 7-min walk. These give access to Metro bus lines going east to downtown and west to Beverly Hills, Westwood, West LA and Santa Monica, etc. Useful Metro bus #14 going east at Gardner/Beverly connects quickly to Metrorail station at Vermont/Beverly. From there, visits to the various areas, whether Hollywood, Downtown, or even Exposition Park (the California Science Center--via #754 bus) possible and take about 25-40 min. Taking the bus the other way, west, first, gets you to a number of north-south buses (207/217) at Beverly/Fairfax, and onward in about 40 min to places like Getty Center in West LA/Brentwood. Metro "Rapid" buses are express buses also available to the Westside. Please utilize search programs and maps, of course, to scope your destination(s) while using system. Also, plan on visiting a number of places within an area such as Hollywood or Downtown, since it's mostly feasible to visit only one of those areas per day.

Kitchen amenities? Yes, these include basic stoneware, silverware, pots, pans, glassware, containers, appliances, etc.

House stays cool? This part of L.A. sufficiently inland and elevated that the installed ceiling fan & A/C unit are rarely needed. Villa stays cool on the hottest days--five windows open to and admit the daily, southwesterly, offshore breeze. Coastal L.A.'s climate is very cool and dry, with low humidity, few bugs. Patio's French door, tall side windows openable.

Is the area safe? Yes, residents freely use the sidewalks and streets at night, but not noisily, to reach their cars and attend parties and get-togethers, which are common. Front patio and street parking in front of house bathed in beams of light from bright LCD streetlights steps away. House has own exterior lights, barred windows, and deadbolt locks.

On-site agent-manager? Yes. Professional agent-manager available 24/7 by messaging, phone or "live" to assist with maintenance, cleaning security and guests' other needs.

Is area "hip"? Yes, it's a hip combination of quiet/private, on the one hand, and metropolitan/cosmopolitan, even touristy, on the other.

Food stores nearby? Yes, again, you'll be able to take a short walk to multiple Ralphs, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Erewhon food stores nearby.

Close subway station? Besides Vermont/Beverly, there's Hollywood/Highland, site of Kodak Theater and film industry's annual Academy Awards ceremony.

The studio apartment is walking distance to so many tourist atracciones , the restaurant Pink’s Hot Dogs is 2 blocks away, the Hancock Park neighborhood with the well preserved mansions from 1920 were celebrities like Antonio Banderas and Nat King Cole made the neighborhood their home is only 10 min walking and the famous Grove shopping center and Farmers Market are 29 min away .

The newly renovated studio apartment has a double bed, all linen are included. Extra pillows, blanket and linen are available on request at no extra cost.

There is a closet with mirror doors.

In the kitchen you will find a fridge, gas stove and oven, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and all necessary cooking utensils.

The dining table sits confortable 2 people and it can be used also for working.The studio has high speed internet an an ergonomic chair and printer are available on request .

Bright and sunny, 450sf furnished private one bedroom mother in law apartment centrally located in Melrose Village close to The Grove. The unit has an independent separate entrance, sitting area, bathroom, kitchenette and outdoor garden.

The space
Private attached one bedroom mother in law apartment with its own separate entrance. The bedroom has a queen size bed and a large work desk with view of the garden. Patio doors off the bedroom lead to the garden and shaded outdoor sitting and dining area. The sitting area has a vintage couch and chairs. The renovated bathroom has a smart toilet with built-in bidet and automatic heated seat. A small fully equipped kitchenette for preparation of light meals. There is another guesthouse on the property but the guest there has use of a separate outdoor patio area. However, you may hear and see the guest in the backyard.
Located in the West Hollywood/ Melrose area. You can walk to many restaurants to pick up food or easily pop across the street to pick up needed supplies at the CVS conveniently located on the corner.
Please note the unit is not acoustically private because of the shared walls. You will be able to hear the tenants in the attached main house. The Google mini in the bedroom can be used for white noise.

Guest access
The entrance to the mother in law unit is at the back of the house. To enter walk down the driveway pull the string on the white gate. You will see the other detached guesthouse directly in front of the driveway gate. That is NOT the unit. The mother in law is ATTACHED to the main house and the entrance is at the back of the house. Walk straight back and make a left when you see the backyard. The door will be unlocked and the unit ready for you. If you requested a parking permit in advance the keys and parking permits will be inside the unit. Wireless internet name is Michelle and the password is matrix123 .

Other things to note
To use the stove turn the ignition knob counterclockwise pass the on indicator then set to desired temperature. The bathroom has a smart bidet toilet, please do not manually close the lid use the remote control to manage the functions. I've noticed comments about the cleanliness of the unit. The couch and chairs have stains that make them look dirty but make no mistake they are clean. They are steamed cleaned and the cover is washed frequently. They just have sentimental value to me so I keep them as is. Also I want to point out again the unit is not acoustically private, it's an attached mother in law unit so you will hear the tenants in main house.
Overnight parking is on Gardner south of Clinton.
