- "The amazing property, inside and out, the beauty of Flathead Lake and the sunsets, the sounds of the water lapping on the beach, activity options too numerous to fit in under a few weeks…I could go on. Bob and Barb are gracious, responsive, respectful, helpful hosts. An experience we’ll be talking about for years to come." - "Fantastic stay. The property was exactly as portrayed in VRBO. Please note: It is very important to me that your stay is comfortable, so there are a few things I'd like you to know:
The driveway is steep and it's dirt, but easily accessible Spring through Fall in most vehicles. 4WD/AWD, GOOD TIRES, AND A SOLID SENSE OF ADVENTURE ARE A MUST DURING WINTER CONDITIONS (which can start as early as October and last through March.) While I do my very best to make sure the driveway is clear and the house is accessible, there are times when Mother Nature will win the battle. Many guests have parked at the landing area halfway up and have enjoyed hiking in the second half (a few hundred yards). Or, you may have to park on the side of the road at the bottom of the hill and hike in a bit further. Gotta love Montana. ;-)
There is a short, steep uphill walk (takes about a minute) on a trail from the parking area to the house. There is a short staircase to the bathroom and a full staircase to the loft.
Television apps include Netflix and Pandora. You may access other apps with your own account.
The sauna is available September 1st - June 30th. The sauna is closed July and August.
Nature House is the perfect place for solo travelers and couples, but can accommodate up to 4 people. While I adore young children, Nature House is really the ultimate "grown up" and children are not allowed.
- "This house was so perfect. It was not right on the lake, but still had great views. It was quiet, clean, and decorated to create a calming ambiance. The luxurious shower and tub made us feel very spoiled. And it had the best stocked kitchen that I have ever experienced in a rental property (knives, cutting boards, pots, pans, TONS of spices, and stocked with several snacks). The host did an amazing job putting together a space that felt rejuvenating and relaxing. State park is down the road and allowed us to enjoy the lake. Multiple restaurants close by. Tons of cherry orchards and stands. So it is peaceful, but has many options for eating and activities nearby. I would not hesitate to stay again!"

Located 12 min. from Polson this little lake house is all about the water. Each bedroom has lake view windows offering a wonderful breeze and sounds of the lake. We have a washer and dryer and the kitchen is very well equipped. The dining table has an expandable leaf for larger groups but you probably won't use it because you will be on the deck enjoying the awesome view as you grill out. The house is small but more than adequate. It was completely remodeled in spring of 2015. The deck is enormous, the dock is gigantic and the boat house is just awesome with a commercial sized sauna to cook yourself in before you leap into the lake. there is also a kitchenette so you can entertain all day next to the lake. There are 2 adult kayaks, 2 kids kayaks, multiple snorkel sets and 2 stand up paddle boards available at no extra charge, just be sure they are put away safely after each use to keep them from blowing away if the wind picks up. There is parking for your boat at the dock while your present and a mooring buoy for unattended parking and at night. do not attempt to use the dock during rough water, it will result in damage to your boat.
This property is all about the water and having fun with your family. Safety bay is deep and generally very calm hence the name. The perfect setting for enjoying the lake from the dock lounge chairs.
- "Jeff’s place was clean, super cozy and easy. Fantastic place for two couples for our long weekend. They communicated well with any questions we had. The boathouse and lakeside toys were easy to access. The sauna was also terrific. Loved our stay." - "Stayed here for a week, will 100% be back. SUPs and kayaks provided were amazing to use. Tucked away in a quiet bay with friendly neighbors, great patio to have meals and the dock is the perfect hang out area. The house is comfortable, updated and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer."

Hardwood floors, stained concrete, large windows over looking the lake, and an open floor plan.

There was easy access to the water, the location on the peninsula was quiet and relaxing, and the view from the deck was worth the 20 hour drive from California!!! Special thanks to Northwest Travel Magazine for naming us 'One of the Northwest's Best Waterfront Vacation Rentals'. And to Tesla for featuring our house in their campaign and providing us with an electric car charger for guests who would like one. Our home resides on Finley Point facing Skidoo Bay with views of the beautiful Mission Mountains. Just a few steps beyond the stone steps of the house is the lake shore, you’ll see the sun rise each morning over the mountains.
Our home is a newly constructed craftsman style home with architectural inspiration from Greene and Greene. Rock and stone prevail inside and out.
In the winter, radiant heat throughout the house keeps the wood and stone floors warm to the touch. The great room features a 20’ rock fireplace and there is an outdoor courtyard with a fireplace for year round use. NEW 2025 - Air conditioning. (Mini-splits)
Autumn, described lovingly by the locals, brings incredible beauty and solitude. Picture yourself sitting on the Adirondack chair with a steaming cup of coffee watching the loons skim the lake. Or take your kayak out for a scenic view on the calm lake.
Winter on the lake is surprisingly mild yet offers two ski areas to choose from. Winter is the perfect time to enjoy the snow recreation options or to just get a fire going, curl up on the leather sofa in the library and read one of the 1,000+ books offered in the house. Or enjoy a fire in the outdoor fireplace, bring your hot chocolate outside and watch the stars.
The house is configured for privacy with the master wing separated from the guest wing by the kitchen, dining, great room, and library. The master suite has a queen size bed. French doors swing open to the outdoor courtyard and fireplace. The master suite bathroom amenities include a double walk-in shower, Japanese soaker tub, double sinks, and a washer and dryer. The guest wing has three bedrooms and a laundry room. A large bedroom faces the lake with a queen bed. There are two additional bedrooms, one with 4 bunks and one with two bunks and a double bed. These guest bedrooms share a large bathroom with a double shower stall and two vanities. The bathrooms are both nicely appointed with travertine stone floor and granite vanity.
There is an additional half bath off the dining room with a pine cone sink pedestal, pine cone light sconces and rock trim behind the vanity.
The kitchen is well equipped for the gourmet chef with a five burner cooktop and double ovens. You’ll find every small appliance and utensil imaginable in the kitchen. There is a large walk-in pantry fully stocked with a wide array of spices and has plenty of room for your groceries. With a slab granite island, and richly stained alder cabinets, you’ll find the kitchen an inviting place to gather. The beauty of the kitchen is heightened by the 20’ceilings, trusses that are an extension of the great room and sweeping views of both the lake and cherry orchard behind the house.
You may dine in the large dining room (table with extensions seats 12) overlooking the outdoor fireplace courtyard and lake, or make yourself comfortable outside under the covered patio overlooking the lake. The covered patio boasts an oversized Weber gas grill with a side burner for full meal preparation al fresco!
We also offer a spacious loft above the garage as a separate rental unit or as an addition to your house rental. The loft has a queen bed, bathroom and sweeping views of the lake. (Not available in winter.)
You’ll find everything you desire in a vacation here: rest, relaxation, outdoor activity and great family time. Please contact us soon and book your vacation week.
NEW: Our neighbors on Skidoo Bay recently posted a really wonderful video depicting fun on the lake. Ask us about it.
FALL: Fall brings a brilliant blue sky and quiet to the lake. The weather has been particularly nice in September over the past several years. It's a big, northern state, so there are no guarantees, but lately it seems like we've had longer summers up there. October can often be sunny and crisp and beautiful, even if you lose your warm lake water for swimming. More often than not, I've enjoyed nice Indian Summers into October, with those blue skies in the day, wood smoke and the smell of the orchards at night, and sometimes snow across the bay on the top of the Mission Mountains. Glacier Park is usually open well into the fall. At Apgar campground, far south in Glacier Park, you can walk out onto a bridge in the fall and watch a dozen or more bald eagles gather to feed on salmon. I'm biased, and it's probably because I rarely get there in the fall anymore, but it's one of my favorite times to be at Flathead Lake. Winter brings skiing through the snow-covered trees of Whitefish Mountain, and the good camaraderie of (other!) Canadian bargain-hunters. And spring brings the blossoming of cherry trees above our house and throughout the Flathead valley.
WINTER: Because we have deep roots there, and because it’s where we built a house near water that laps upon the shore like words of Yeats, we spend our winter holidays in Montana. In the easy seasons it is a reliable heaven on earth. In the winter it is either snow-covered peaks against bright skies - or grey isolation.
This Christmas, the strain of travel weighed a little heaver on eye and muscle when the first morning hours arrived, enveloped by low clouds and the dark of the longest night of the year. The world was in harmony only with the lure of another hour in a feather bed. One querulous goose flapped and honked over a hundred of its kind, all floating on the cold lake with a caking of snow on their heads and backs. They ignored him, and we all claimed a little more sleep.
And then, when the world was right, the inevitable call of one bird to some willing other began again, and the day could unfold toward coffee and breakfast. It’s in that moment that the vacation begins, and you are no longer tempted to begrudge the forsaken comforts of Christmas enchiladas and the twinkling lights of the village we leave behind here.
Nowhere in the city do you get that call and response, and such a reliable ordering of things.

Here you will find a small public beach that is rarely used. (Shhh... only locals know of it's existence!) It is untamed with driftwood and cattails on the shore. There is no dock for use, but you won't need it to launch the kayaks. The water is shallow for 100 yards or more. Sit in the cool water, swim out a ways, or kayak into the vast Flathead Lake. It is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River and has spectacular views in every direction. - "Cozy, daylight basement perfect for the 2 of us and our puppy. Very clean and well-stocked. Porch was a nice place to sit out at the end of the day. Cheryl and Brett were great hosts. They’ll visit as much or as little as you’d like. Huck, their dog was a gentle giant as he played with our 11#, 8 month old puppy. We’re looking forward to staying there again." - "What can I say? Cheryl and Brett are amazing hosts. They did extremely well at being available to us at all times while still respecting our privacy. Brett loaded up the kayaks and drove us to the lake without us even having to ask. Their dog Huck is an ABSOLUTE delight. I miss him already, such a good boy. The property itself is gorgeous. While we were there, we had deer sitings, a mountain lion, and a momma black bear and her cubs. We felt 100% safe and secure at all times though, they even have bear spray to take with you if you go hiking. Every small detail in the suite was considered. The wifi password is displayed prominently and easily, there are complimentary toiletries, and the decor around the house is absolutely adorable. Flathead lake is absolutely gorgeous and lived up to every drop of the hype. Kayaking was an amazing experience and we are already talking about making this a yearly trip. If you are looking at this property, book it with full confidence. We had a stunningly good experience and can't wait to see Cheryl, Brett, and Huck again next year."

- "We had a great time with gorgeous sunsets every night over Flathead Lake! The owner thought of every detail to make the place welcoming and comfortable." - "Great location and views. House was as advertised. Quiet neighborhood and well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and living area. Nice and relaxing stay. " - "Cozy enveloped by woods at the very end of this peninsula. Lovely peaceful and good vibes " - "Four adults stayed for 4 nights. This place was perfect. Incredible views. Saw mountains, the lake, deer (including a 10 pt Muley!), and even a black bear 2x on returning to the house. The house was immaculate, stocked with anything you could need. Would recommend it to everyone. The owner had fast responses to all questions. Driveways are a bit rough and would be challenging in winter. Deck boards need some attention. We didn't even use the second house except to play some pool. This is a great place to stay! "

Two cabins, right on the lake and nestled on a cherry orchard, offer an ideal gathering spot for family reunions and large groups. The property was formerly a resort in the 1940s on pristine Flathead Lake in the Skidoo Bay area. The lower cabin was restored from the original 1940's resort cabin with a new addition added. Both cabins offer an excellent location with stunning views of the lake. Both cabins have a total of three gas fireplaces, three living rooms and fully furnished kitchens, 4.5 bathrooms, two balconies with up close views of the lake, two large decks and a large fire pit area right on the lake. The boat dock was rebuilt and the lakeshore was updated with a new seawall and improved landscaping allowing more lounging space. There are two washers and two dryers provided as well. With plenty of room to spread out it’s the perfect family stay for visitors with children. During cherry season (end of July beginning of August) visitors can enjoy famous regional Flathead cherries to their hearts content. The property offers enough privacy that you can hunker down and get away from everything for a peaceful retreat. This is a summer only rental with a ONE WEEK MINIMUM STAY. Events (e.g. weddings or other) must be pre-approved by owner. Additional cleaning fees and a bed tax apply. No smoking. Boats will need to be put in the lake in at the nearby Finley Point State Park. Boat dock may not be used for overnight mooring and boats should not be kept at the dock if the weather is unfavorable. Owner/Property Management Company is not liable for damage to watercraft if occurs. Parking for RVs or boats must be pre-approved by owner. We highly recommend guests purchase travel insurance as wildland fires can affect the area.
The cabins are only 8 miles from the nearest town and about 20 minutes from Big Fork, a great tourist destination. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Mission Mountains, Mission & Flathead valleys and Flathead Lake on your way to Glacier National Park, The Bison Range, and other Federal & State Parks all within a 2 hour drive or less. The lake is surrounded by State Parks that allow camping and have boat ramps. The perfect retreat for a visit in Big Sky Country.
Safety: Cameras are on the exterior of the premises for security purposes. Caution- cement pad, sea wall and boat dock are right on the water without rails. Decks that are high above ground, and stairs in both cabins, and high retaining wall by garage. Children must be supervised at all times. Front deck on lower cabin closest to water has 15 person max. capacity.

We spent much time kayaking, paddle boarding, and surfing, and the water was never crowded. We especially appreciated how well appointed the kitchens were, plenty of utensils and cookware. My family would love to stay here again. John T." - "This place is amazing! Not only is the location perfect and the owners super responsive, they have (literally) every possible thing you could need! Honestly, all you need to bring is food and clothes. The lake temperature was perfect, the beds are comfy and the homes are beautiful!"

Remodeled all throughout, plus new crib dock and buoy. This home was remodeled throughout in 2022. It features four bedrooms and three baths, large kitchen with a pantry, island, living room and built in banquet dining area. Every bedroom features a large closet and is connected to a bathroom. The property has a lovely orchard, level lot from the house to the lake with beautiful views of Flathead Lake. Filled with great amenities!
- "Our stay was just great - the hosts were wonderful and easy to communicate with. Location was fine and everyone enjoyed running down the lawn to the dock in the morning to swim/kayak or fish. The house was well appointed, everything functioned as it should. Lanni and Curt keep the place well maintained and were very attentive to our needs. The only item I'd point out to be aware of is that two of the beds shown on the listing as Queen size are actually only full sized mattresses on queen frames. Minor issue (except for my 6'3" son-in-law who lost the draw for the king bed). Would absolutely come back!"

Feel free to keep your boat at our newly surfaced private dock, which features a boat lift with a 6,000-pound capacity and is just steps away from the cabin. Additional deposit and signed waiver are required to use the boat lift. Swim, fish, or relax on the dock, cement breakwater, or dock-side patio. S'mores await at the firepit and the new landscaping makes lake access a breeze.
Treat yourself to a magnificent sunrise or infinite star gazing over the Mission Mountains from our spacious, two-level deck, just off the main floor living space. The lake views will take your breath away! The deck has plenty of seating on comfortable, all-weather furniture, as well as a propane grill, and an outdoor heater for a cooler, summer evening. If you need a little shade, just roll out the retractable awning.
Our three-level home is modern, clean, and comfy. It features hardwood floors on the main floor and in the loft. The living room looks right out at the lake and has a decorative rock fireplace. If you’re not up for breakfast outside, you can opt for either the small table or the eat-in breakfast counter. The small galley kitchen is both functional and modern. It has a dishwasher, gorgeous cast-iron electric stove (new but made to look antique), refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, crockpot, and all the staples.
The main floor also has a bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The bathroom on this level has a jetted tub, as well as a shower. Upstairs, the spacious loft features a king-sized bed, facing a wall of windows with unending lake and mountain views, not to mention a cozy reading nook.
Consider sending the kids down to the fully furnished basement, which stays cool all day and all night in the summer. The basement has one room with a double bed. While the room functions as a bedroom, it does not have a door or an egress window. The basement living area has two sets of twin bunk beds, a 42-inch television, and lots of space for games and puzzles. The basement also has a second bathroom with a shower. The utility room includes a full-sized washer and dryer, as well as a second refrigerator, which is perfect for all your summer drinks!
Boat lift available with signed waiver and additional $200 deposit.
- "The views from the house were stunning! We were able to drop the waverunners into the water and keep them at the dock all week. The house was clean and accommodating, although the bedrooms and bathrooms were small. The king bed is in the loft, so don't expect privacy and it's very bright in the mornings and loud if you have people that stay up late, wondering ear plugs and eye mask. Also, the pillows on the king bed were flat and dingey. The kids said they loved their beds/pillows though. The kitchen was well stocked, but small. No kitchen table, just a counter and small breakfast nook. The AC units worked great. TV in the main living room was really small. The shared gravel driveway was a bit tight with the trailer, but we made it work. Overall, the stay was great, and none of this bothered us too much because we spent most of our time on the dock or on the lake. We enjoyed the sereneness of the lake and the deer that would frequentl the property."

The owners are very nice and helpful, very quick to answer any questions and they have almost every pamphlet available for activities to do around the area." - "We found this house by chance when our original booking was cancelled by the owner two days before departure. We could not be happier with how things worked out. Brad and Lisa went above and beyond to make this a great stay. Great communication made check in smooth, and their welcome note with information was helpful. The house is lovely with plenty of space for the six of us to spread out and settle in. The kitchen is well stocked making meals in easy. Plenty of towels, hot water, and paper products. Photos of the house do not do it or the location justice. Everyone in our group highly recommends this property and we hope to visit again. "

- "We loved the property, location and the owners were easily accessible and easy to work with. Highly recommend." - "Our family had a great stay. Everything went smoothly, the house was clean and just as advertised, and we loved being on the lake." - "If you are looking for an amazing time on Flathead Lake, look no further! We rented this outstanding property for a small family reunion in July. I cannot say enough about how perfect the cabin, lawn, massive deck, and water access was for our group. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous from the furnishings to the décor and lighting. The beds and linens were super cozy and the air-conditioning came in handy during the 95 plus degree days. The grandparents appreciated the separate sleeping quarters with private bathroom which enabled them some privacy and quiet from the main house if desired. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to spend time on the large deck, which provided ample seating room for the whole clan staying there plus some family who just dropped by for the day. Down at the water, there is an awesome roped off swimming area with soft sand under your toes. And the bay provides excellent shelter from the wind plus an epic view of the Mission Mountains in the background. This place is an absolute gem! And to top it off, the property owners are fantastic and gracious. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We will definitely be back year after year."
