We’re apparently among the early visitors. We were on the second floor (a walk-up) (we’re a couple in our 70s, still reasonably mobile; stairway to 2nd floor could be challenge for some). The 2nd floor can accommodate up to 7, say, for a group, or a smaller number of individuals or couples. Three 2nd floor bedrooms, small, (each with its own digital lock); but spacious common TV, dining area, and modern kitchen, and modern bathroom — all simply but tastefully appointed. The immediate neighborhood is not fancy but seemed safe. A $15 Uber/Lyft ride to downtown, slightly more from/to O’Hare. For us, making a short overnight stay en route to connecting with Chicago friends and rental car travel to a neighboring state, this was an excellent value, and an enjoyable guesthouse experience!"

Check-in could not be easier with coded entries at the street and the coach house. We had checked with the owners in advance to learn that there were only stairs with handrails leading up to the living quarters, but none indoors, which was important to us. This modern, tastefully decorated place is remarkably well equipped - every time I thought “We could use…” there it was! Plus items you’d not expect in a rental: a steamer, a blender, a wine rack and cooler, first aid kit, robes, a printer and on and on. Finally the location is all that you would want: a quiet place on a beautiful street. And just a half block to main streets filled with restaurants, bars, coffee houses, retail stores, etc! We loved this coach house and appreciated the owners’ attention to detail and cleanliness. We, and other extended family members, will be booking it in the future."

- "Property is as described. Very clean and updated. Bed was a very comfortable king size. Kitchen and bathroom have everything you need. We never had troubles finding a spot for parking on the street near the house. The owners were very accomodating with us when we had delayed arrival and departure due to flight issues. I think there must be an AC unit or a furnace inside one of the closet which was a little noisy when we arrived, but owner must be aware of that and we did not hear it at night. Also basements in general can get a little chilly when AC goes in the rest of the house, something to keep in mind in general. Overall this was the best stay on this trip so far and I would definitely recommend the place."

This is your launching pad to see the city! It is a vintage apartment with your own private entrance and space. It is within walking distance of a large selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. With a bicycle, cab, Uber/Lyft, bus or EL train you can be downtown in minutes. In close proximity to many of Chicago's great locations such as Wrigley Field, The United Center, White Sox Park, etc... Located in the Ukrainian Village it is a safe, welcoming neighborhood with plenty of history.

Like many places in Chicago it has some 100year old unique characters. This is a garden unit as we call it in Chicago which means its a couple steps down below outside grade. There are also plenty of modern details though like fast and reliable wi-fi connection and charging ports for phones/electronics. There is a office with a office desk/chair to work on. The bedroom has a queen sized bed with a dresser and closet. I provide two suit case stands. It has a large TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and locals stations to watch. I provide some guide book information about the city. We put together a guide book of walk-able neighborhood suggestions. If you are long term traveling you have access to free washer and dryer. Please be aware that you may need to duck slightly in some isolated spots especially if you are above my height of 5'-10". I have no issues at my height but I do have to duck a little to get in the main door.

While the unit felt safe, perhaps there could be a lock on the door leading from the laundry area into the actual unit. We weren't sure where the second interior door led (upstairs? another unit? a closet?) and wished we could've secured our door. It's a nice unit and a good location for our plans. "

Newly remodeled spacious 2br/1.5ba apartment with modern finishes, smart tech & security, in a hip, central neighborhood minutes from downtown Chicago and part of all that hot and trendy Humboldt Park has to offer. THE SPACE:
The apartment is located in a newly remodeled traditional Chicago multi-flats building from the early 1900. It sits in an urban neighborhood and as an older building some noise transmission from the street and between units is inevitable, similar to what may naturally occur in any apartment building.

Please note that the private parking behind the building is shared between three units and is on First Come First Serve basis. It can hold up to 4 cars stacked 2 by 2, which means that in order not to block guests from other units by parking behind them, only two units can potentially park at the same time. If your party is traveling with multiple cars, please park one behind another as a courtesy to other guests. Free street parking is also available.
