New, modern 1 bedroom apartment with space for 4, located within walking distance of downtown Larchmont Village, major studios and restaurants. This unit is on the 1st floor of a home with a separate entrance and completely locked off from the rest of the owners' house. Completely private, including your own back yard! The unit contains a kitchenette, fridge, 2-burner hot plate, convection microwave, sink, and coffee maker. There is a king in the main room and a full Murphy bed in a private separate space in the den area. There is no designated parking space, but there is usually ample street parking.

- "I own a special effects company and was in Hollywood for a production shoot at a nearby studio. Decided to forego a hotel for a more comfortable, convenient, quiet and "at home" experience for my extended stay. The Larchmont Character Building is a beautiful, well-maintained historic property that has four professionally managed suites situated on a very nice street. The rooms are large, well furnished and tastefully decorated and my 1,100 square foot suite had a fully equipped kitchen and full sized washer and dryer. Off street parking was a huge plus in an area where parking is sometimes challenging. The location is excellent and in close proximity to restaurants, bars, a grocery store, studios and the historic Larchmont Village shopping district. Even though I had a rental car, I walked to dinner a couple of nights when I didn't cook. Osteria Mama offered excellent Italian and the famous Lucy's El Adobe is just up the street. This place is in the heart of Hollywood if you're into all the local attractions. I'm a discriminating frequent business traveler who typically stays in 4 or 5 star hotels and this was a very welcome alternative. I just wish my wife had been along for this trip as she would have loved it. I will be a repeat customer."

This is a duplex, There is a total of two units that are completely separated.
You have full access to the upstairs unit with two separate entrances, back and front door . Unit is completely private and feels very much like a single family home. There is lots of parking in the back that is secured with a rolling gate.
Please note that the hot water takes about 5-6 minutes to heat up since the water heater is in the back yard. 4th bedroom does not have a bath so the 4th guest needs to use one of the bathrooms in the rooms , water temperature might fluctuate if all used at once .
We might look 2018 modern but the home was built 1928, please use with care .

Gorgeous gated and private 5 bedroom, 5 1/2 bath Villa on large lot and 4,100 square feet of living space with airy high ceilings in a beautiful neighborhood. A beautiful fully stocked chef’s kitchen with an open floor plan makes it a wonderful gathering place.
Smart TVs, completely gated and closed property including a safe in the master bedroom.
Outside area has an amazing lounge space, swimming pool & Barbecue area.

Location suited us for where we wanted to go in LA. Minor hiccup in the beginning where holiday check-in fees were sprung on us but ultimately not charged. Should have been mentioned upfront if so. Pool decks and outdoor decks probably weren’t cleaned often so when people went in & out barefoot left tracks. But otherwise, towels, beddings, all bathrooms and laundry rooms were well equipped and we had a great stay."

The two bed 2 bath house is painted green and has a lush yard and large front porch. The furniture is mostly mid-century and antique. The living room has newly installed dark wood flooring and a unique crosshatched beam ceiling accompanied by a stunning white fireplace. Sunlight shines through casement windows onto the various houseplants. The master bedroom has a lush bamboo garden view. There is also an attached vanity with a large mirror and a bathroom with an above-ground tub. The second bedroom has large casement windows and a view of the backyard. Each bedroom is furnished with a luxurious king size bed, ensuring a comfortable and restful night's sleep. The second bedroom can be converted to two twin beds as well. The primary bedroom has it’s own bathroom and shower as well as a dedicated desk/work space. The living room is cozy and inviting with a fireplace and plenty of space to curl up and watch a movie. The fully equipped kitchen is a chef's dream, with modern appliances and perfect for cooking up a storm.
Step outside and enjoy your morning coffee on the private patio, or sit around the firepit in the shared back yard and enjoy a glass of wine with the guest in the back house.
With easy access to popular restaurants, shops, and entertainment options, you'll have no shortage of things to do during your stay. We can't wait to host you and make your trip to LA a memorable one!
Guest Access:
There are three living spaces here at Melrose Space: The Casita (where you will be staying) and two units in the back: The MaisonNet is a one bedroom tiny home for long term rental and The Nomad Pad is the studio that I live in. While the front yard is entirely yours, THE BACK YARD IS A SHARED SPACE. The Casita has a side gate that tenants use to access the back houses. You’ll have access to the entire two bedroom home. All of the doors to the house are smart and will open with the personal code you receive when you book.
The Neighborhood:
Honestly, you’re at the corner of 4 awesome neighborhoods. I’d say we are technically in Handcock Park.
Hancock Park is a genteel residential enclave dating back to the 1920s. Well-preserved mansions in architectural styles such as Tudor and Italian Revival occupy large lots with broad lawns and porticos. Surrounding the Wilshire Country Club, the area includes Windsor Square and Larchmont Village, which features a quaint shopping and dining strip. Synagogues on La Brea Avenue serve the Orthodox Jewish community.
But you’re also so close to Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Fairfax district. It truly is the best of so many worlds.

The neighborhood is very walkable. We are literally feet from Melrose Ave.
Parking: you’ll have 1 pass which allows you to park on the street.
Metered Parking: There is also metered parking along Melrose if you need additional parking.
Scooters: Bird, Lyft, and Lime are all fun apps you can download to use scooters to get around.
Uber/Lyft: Use ride sharing to avoid drinking and driving.
Subway: Believe it or not, we have a subway! Uber to the subway in Hollywood and get back and forth to places like Downtown without getting stuck in traffic!
Other Things to Note:
In an effort to maintain a secure premises, there are visible exterior cameras in the ally-way entrance, the back yard, as well as ring doorbells which monitor people coming and going. Cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras inside the airBnBs. There is a noise monitor in the unit to detect if sound levels go beyond a certain level and can detect parties. THIS DOES NOT RECORD SOUND, just alerts us when the decibels get too high, especially 10pm to 8am.

We are a family of creatives. I have lived in Los Angeles, New York City and not nearly long enough in France. My work has been in start ups, short documentaries and writing. During a working holiday to Dublin, Ireland two years ago, we booked our first three AirBnb stays. We had such awesome adventures in Dublin town and then at a farm in the middle of Ireland, we thought it might be fun to do the same with our home in Los Angeles. It has been a blast!
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Your own private ensuite bedroom with an outside entry and comfy sitting porch where you can enjoy morning coffee, a tasty meal or an evening drink. The studio is attached to a 4 bedroom Hollywood/Larchmont Village/Hancock Park area home. Folks seem to love the ease and accessibility of our Cozy Suite with private bathroom. Towels and linen are provided.
With views of the front garden our tiny terrace suite is a little oasis in the middle of the city with an "old Hollywood" feel.
Pets are welcome, however there is an additional $20 fee per day payable in cash or via PayPal that will be added after you book.
Very close to Hollywood and to Downtown Los Angeles. We are just a few blocks from Larchmont Village and our local bookshop, Chevaliers. Between Kiku Sushi, Village Pizzaria, Vernetti and Chan Dara for dining and the fantastic ice cream shops: Jenni's and Salt and Straw living here is a real culinary delight! Our space is conveniently located in central LA with a Pavillions supermarket close by (4 blocks). The metro and the Hop On /Hop Off buses are right around the corner to take you to Downtown LA, Universal, Santa Monica, Union Station, or anywhere else you want to go!
There are a couple of incredibly sweet kitties and our 2 year old pup that also live on the property.

Our Cozy Suite room has a tiny terrace attached with its' own private access through exterior French doors. As our guest, you will have your own keys to the suite and front gate. You can secure your luggage and valuables in a locked room behind security gates. A true indoor/outdoor space with a covered porch with table and love-seat. Including a mini-frig/freezer, microwave, tea kettle and French coffee press, you may also enjoy dining al fresco in the front garden!
Our back yard is being worked on so we ask guests to remain in the front for now. Many Thanks!
Other things to note
We live behind security gates in a safe neighborhood. When you step inside you can leave the hustle and bustle of the city. The tall trees allow for a fairly private setting.
FREE on street parking with the exception of street cleaning from 12-3pm on Monday on the East side of the street and 12-3pm on Tuesday on the West side of the street.
As an additional safeguard, please always lock your car and bring all valuables inside.

Located in the historic Hancock Park neighborhood, this location is central to Downtown LA, Hollywood/Silverlake, and West LA. Located in one of the most desirable areas of Los Angeles, the home is very safe, quiet, and on a tree-lined street amongst other beautiful homes. Plenty of street parking.
The space
The space is located in the guesthouse on the lower level with its own entrance. It's a converted cabana with custom features and amenities. You enter the seating area, with a comfortable sofa, smart tv, and accent tables, equipped with plenty of outlets and USB A and C ports. The bathroom is fitted with custom marble, double vanity, and a large shower. The bedroom is through the bathroom, fitted with a queen size bed, desk, and kitchenette.
The bedroom has no windows. There is plenty of street parking and the home is outfitted with exterior light paths and landscape.
Other things to note
While the place is nice and comfortable, it is ideal for travelers who are interested in exploring the city and spending more time out and about but would also like to come home to a space that is nice, comfortable, safe, and clean.
It does not have a full kitchen for cooking. There is a microwave, Keurig coffee machine, electric tea kettle, toaster, and minifridge for convenience.
The pool is not available for guests to use due to liability reasons and we appreciate your understanding.

Stylish, Clean, Comfortable and oh so QUIET. You will get a good night's sleep here! Our 300 square foot, detached guesthouse used to be a recording studio, so it is sound-proofed. Sleep day or night on the brand new, very comfortable King mattress. Flat screen TV has Netflix and basic television channels. High speed wireless internet, Keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea is provided. The space has the look and feel of a boutique hotel room, but yours for far less than you would pay at an actual hotel in the area.
When our guesthouse is not booked, no one is living in it. We don't keep any of our personal items in the guest house, and we book exclusively through Airbnb. Every piece of furniture and decor has been thoughtfully selected and put in place with your needs in mind. We hope you enjoy your stay!

Please note there is lots of "green" on the lot and we strive to keep the area surrounding the house friendly to the environment. This is a "natural" space in an urban setting. Feel free to sit under the majestic 100-year-old Chinese Elm tree. Also, take note there may be a bug or two! I reiterate there may be a bug or two, which should not interfere with your stay. Please take advantage of the Southern California weather to sit under the stars and enjoy the outdoors.
The house, built in 1925 makes for a wonderful ambiance and comes with all the charm, good energy, and hospitality that I would expect to receive when traveling. Centrally-located, dedicated parking, and a place where I can enjoy a restful sleep. The unit has a full private bathroom, strong Wi-Fi, smart television, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and an AC unit for the occasional heatwave. If you plan on being in the room, or leave the room with all windows shut for extended periods, please circulate the air in the room. Ventilate by opening a window or using the small heating/fan unit during the winter and the A/C unit during the Summer.

I clean the space personally, so I know that some of these reviews are NOT accurate, odors can be do to guest that do not open windows for ventilation nor the run the fan. There is a brand new AC unit in the room.
The vast majority of guests have told me how beautiful of a space it is. Come enjoy it! Ratings are very subjective and people are funny in their behaviors. Nothing is wrong yet they leave a less than positive review. Oh well!
Please note there may be erratic construction (doesn't happen all the time), and shouldn't interfere with your stay as well.

There is someone at the house most of the time. Yet, let's make time to meet. I love getting to know my guests and answering questions if your time allows. I have met super interesting people along their journeys through Los Angeles, I would love to meet you as well.
The entrance is through a private back gate with an automated lock. Then, follow the path to your private guesthouse with its own automated door lock. Our building is situated in a historic and prestigious area of Los Angeles, which has been home to many celebrities. Hollywood tour buses often make their rounds in this neighborhood.

As a corner penthouse unit, we're situated farthest from the main streets of Rossmore Ave and Clinton St, which minimizes noise penetration more than any other units in the building. As a penthouse, there are no residents above us. Furthermore, our unit's floor uses a triple-layered combination of a soundproof sheet, gypsum concrete, and another soundproof sheet to mitigate noise from the unit below. Our room walls are also professionally soundproofed with sound-deadening materials, ensuring a quiet and comfortable environment.
Your room's door knob is equipped with a lock that can be used from the inside.
This is a safe neighborhood, and our building employs 24-hour private security. Surveillance cameras are also installed in common public areas for added safety.

The underground gym is also accessible 24 hours a day, though please note it is currently under renovation and may not be available.

There is plenty of street parking around the building (street parking only). We offer a monthly preferential street parking pass for free. We are located in the residential area of Hancock Park in Los Angeles. This Spanish style house has been deemed historical by the city. The available guest room and bath are located on the lower level of the house.
Ideally located and a 5 minute drive to West Hollywood, 20 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to downtown, with easy access to bus line and freeways.
The house is walking distance to Melrose Avenue, La Brea Avenue, Highland Avenue and Hollywood Blvd. Restaurants are all in walking distance or a quick drive, including the highly desired Osteria Mozza, as well as, Thai, Chinese, Sushi, Italian, Vegetarian/Vegan, fast food, etc. It is also close to museums, The Grove, Larchmont Village, Hollywood Bowl, Universal Studios and Paramount Studios.
We are about a 30-45 minute drive from both Burbank and LAX airport (depending on traffic - welcome to LA).
The guest room and bath can be accessed through a locked driveway gate to the backdoor of the house. The room features a king size bed, hardwood floors with area rug, a writing desk and closet. The renovated bathroom serves as double access to the lower level floor, as well as being attached to the guest bedroom. This bathroom is exclusive to the unit when occupied.

The space
Guests have loved the ambiance, privacy and home away from home feeling of this standalone guesthouse apartment. Enjoy extensive amenities including a fully equipped kitchen, linens, towels and your own washer dryer.
The fantastic location is so central that there is little, if any, need for a car, but free street parking is plentiful with no restrictions except for street cleaning a few hours, twice per week.
This has been an excellent long term space for extended work, staycations and those relocating to Los Angeles.
Guest access
The gated entry to the courtyard leads to your private space, where you enter at ground level. Once inside, the space is yours alone, including the balconies. Please note that there may be guests in the main house, so showing consideration by limiting noise in the entry courtyard is appreciated.
Other things to note
Being a city property, the apartment is subject to some traffic noise. There are both a white noise and a nature sound machine for use in the bedroom for light sleepers. However, if you are overly sensitive to this kind of ambient sound, and have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. It is important that my guests are comfortable and have the best stay possible.
