It is located right in the middle of a ton of restaurants and coffee shops. You can walk everywhere. There is a bar downstairs so keep that in mind. The manager was very nice and accommodated us with the parking at the last minute. We loved the old windows and had them open the entire time we were there. This does not have an elevator so keep that in mind as we walked three floors each time. The tile in the bathroom was cracked and old however that did not bother us as everything worked. We will absolutely stay here again. The only complaint I would have it you are given a parking number to park in or you will be towed however I could not see the numbers when I parked so I parked in another spot not realizing they had numbers. I went to move my car in the morning and someone was parked in my spot. This hotel is quaint and located in a great area and I felt safe the entire time. "

The lots are about a 10 minute walk. If I did it again I'd take an Lyft/Cab from the airport. There are so many restaurants right on the marina that you won't run out of places to eat. Our dogs are part of our family. Two labradoodles and one Yellow Labrador welcome our guests but will give you space once they meet you. We all live in the front downstairs apartment.

- "Hosts were great - available but not hovering. Location was amazing, minutes to both the bay and the ocean! Close to shopping, restaurants but far enough away you are out of the noise and traffic. Parking can be tight on weekends, but we were always close enough it wasn’t an inconvenient walk. Everyone we encountered was super friendly. Laundromat is a couple blocks away on 62nd - you can wash and dry in under 45 mins. For the coffee drinking travellers who want to make sure they have the correct supplies, coffee pot is standard drip type and there is also a french press. We will be back."

- "The house was beautiful and clean. We were able to walk to the Aquarium of the Pacific, in less than 30 minutes. There are some homeless in the area, but felt safe in the day, we didn't really go out at night. There was 1 parking space. During the day parking is easy, but later it gets hard to find a spot. I saw an earlier review that mentioned a shortage of silverware and only 1 dishtowel. There are 6 forks, 1 large spoon, one small spoon and 1 dishtowel and 1 washcloth. There are 3 plastic wine glasses. So, other than being short on some items, it was a very nice stay. There is a Mexican restaraunt a couple blocks away that is good. "

Our home is 13 miles from LAX & 17 miles away from Downtown LA. This is a 3 bedroom house & we are offering 2 rooms to guests. I go to work around 7:30 AM and usually don't return home until 6 PM. Guests have until 11 AM to check out. After that, my spouse, Todd, will prepare the rooms so that the new guests can check in at 1 PM. The dogs will remain inside our master bedroom when both Todd and I are away from the home. There is no parking at the house. You will need to park it outside the complex on Main Street.

Other things to note
Amenities versus Price: We price our room rate very competitively compared to other listings in our area. Our place is best for budget travelers who just need a secure place to rest and are fine with basic amenities. If you are looking for upscale luxury accommodations, this is not the place for you.
If you have a phobia/fear of small 10 lbs dogs, please look for other accommodations. Absolutely no pets or emotional support animals allowed. One of my dogs is very territorial and aggressive towards other animals and there is just too much risk involved if you bring animals with you to my home. If you have pets or emotional support animals, please seek accommodations elsewhere.

If you don't like A LOT of houseplants, this place is not for you. Because there are A LOT of house plants next to the small bedroom. there aren't any house plants inside the small guest bedroom, but right outside it are A LOT of houseplants. Most people like or don't mind house plants, some guests just seem averse to them.

Smoking Pot/Marijuana: While it is legal to smoke pot in CA, we do not allow any smoking inside our home. If you are a heavy user of pot, please choose another accommodation.

Location: If you are looking for a place that has easy bus/train access, this is not the place for you. Our home is at least 20 miles away (or more) from Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown LA and Disneyland. We are close to Long Beach and not far from the border between LA and Orange County. Its best if you have your own vehicle to drive unless you prefer Uber or Lyft to get around town.

Our home is located inside a mobile park. Our place is located inside a nice community and the vast majority of our guests have enjoyed their stay at our home.

Earliest check in time is 1 PM. Latest checking in time is 11 PM. If you are arriving via LAX and your flight is going to arrive past 9:30 PM, there is no way you will arrive by 11 PM. Please seek other accommodations.

SOLO GUESTS ONLY! NO EXCEPTIONS. This also means we don't allow you bring in visitors into your room. If you want visitors into your room, then please find another place.

We understand that there will be situations in which you may have to cancel/modify a reservation last minute. these things happen. However, if you cancel/modify your reservation within 48 hours of your booking, you will need to pay for those 2 days. After that, we can issue you a full refund AFTER the 1st 48 hours of your booking/stay. We are not running a hotel with multiple rooms where we can easily absorb the loss of a room booking, nor is there any guarantee that we can get a guest immediately to replace you in such short notice.

House Rules

TV - There is no TV in the room

Gate Opener – the gates the complex close between 7 PM and 7 AM every night. Do not lose the gate opener that we loan to you. The gate opener is $35 to replace if you lose it. Keys are $5 if you lose them.

Parking – You can only park your car overnight outside in Main Street. You may park it in the guest parking spots during the day, but from 7 PM to 7 AM, park your vehicle outside on Main Street or it will get towed.

Luggage/Suitcase – please do not put your luggage or suitcase on top of the bed.

Mini fridge – the mini fridge in your room is for you to use. Do not unplug it or set the setting on High. Do not use the refrigerator in the kitchen except to get water.

Microwave – You can use the microwave in the kitchen. You are not allowed to use the stove and oven for cooking.

Drinking Water – you can get a red cup beside the kitchen refrigerator and get water/ice from the kitchen refrigerator.

Laundry – the washer and dryer are not normally available to guests. If you really need to use them, its $5 per load to use the washer & dryer together.

Garbage – If you have a lot of trash, please don’t make it accumulate because it attracts pests and vermin. Leave it outside beside the base of the stairs in the carport. This way, we can throw it out in the dumpster.

Bed – Please do not eat or drink on the bed. When you check out, we wash all the sheets in between guests, so you do not have to make the bed look nice when you check out. There is no desk in the room to eat your meals, so we encourage you to eat at the kitchen island counter or dining room table instead.

Bathroom – once per day, we will clean the guest bathroom. If the bathroom is particularly filthy, let us know immediately, so we can clean it. Always leave the outer door of the bathroom OPEN when you are not using it so that the other guest is not guessing if you are using the bathroom.

Smoking – Absolutely no smoking allowed inside the house. If you need to smoke, we set up a chair with a black ashtray beside it in the carport.

Noise – Please try and keep sounds/noise to a bare minimum between the hours of 11 PM and 7 AM.

Emergency – If you need to reach me immediately, then call me (don’t text me). All my texts are on silent mode.

Very small room in a small house that features a big garden. The room is right next to the kitchen and it is separated by a sliding door. The laundry room is directly next to the room and accessible from the small room. Laundry Room can be also accessed from Garden. This ranch-style cottage single-family duplex-style home features hardwood and tiled floors throughout! Lots of natural light throughout the house amidst large shady trees and bushes which surround the property.

This centrally-located home features a grassy lawn enclosed by a white picket fence. This former Citrus farm, dating back over 100 years ago, has lots of shady trees, plants and bushes which grow next to the windows for extra privacy, and adorns the backyard with BBQ grill, bonfire pit, hammock, and orchard fruits trees that attract a lot of birds and cute wildlife, including: raccoons, possums, and squirrels!

This single-family home is in a residential neighborhood has plenty of nearby street parking and is within a network of bike lanes, public transportation routes for buses. Also nearby, are many family-owned restaurants nearby that are excellent! (Peruvian, pupusas, southern home cooking, and a Louis drive-thru Burgers for delivery or drive thru).

Additionally, there are two brand name convenient stores (7-eleven, CVS) nearby, and a large park filled with large trees, which has a popular local skate park, community center for Zumba or yoga classes, softball field, basketball court, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and a playground with slides and swings for children. There is also a large library with high-speed internet.

There are also quite a few brand name fast food restaurants and convenience stores located within a 10-minute walking distance nearby: Carls Jr, McDonalds, Waba Grill, Subway, Chase bank, and Starbucks with Drive-Thru.

In addition to the year-round sunny climate—a world renown hallmark of the Los Angeles basin area of Southern California, this particular area of the basin which sits just miles from westerly and southerly coastlines has some of the most temperate weather. The Kitchen - for 24/7 available coffee made fresh daily, and an air fryer for quick healthy cooking and heating. Guests (staying at least one week), may reserve shelf-space for extra food storage in the kitchen’s large refrigerator and use of stove.

The front yard is available for you and your loved ones to enjoy. Grassy area is fully enclosed with a wooden picket fence.

The backyard - access by special request, I also have BBQ grill, fire pit with wood, and a hammock available in the backyard.

The Laundry room - free in-house laundry service and weekly room cleaning / linen-replacement for your convenience is provided, optionally, to guests staying at least one week, on Sundays.

During your stay
I have travelled and know what it’s like being away from home in the midst of an adventure trip or for work. To be very excited, yet still miss home at times. I also stayed at a number of different sorts of AirBNB properties with a different set-ups and locations, and empathize with what guests are looking for! So, whether you just want to rest, sleep, explore the city or chit chat a bit ..feel free! I would like you to consider this your home away from home.

Let me tell you this spot has the best weather! Located equally between downtown Los Angeles and the beach, this spot has one of the best temperature climates in all the Los Angeles basin. Featuring a charming quiet residential single family home neighborhood (one of the original neighborhoods of Los Ángeles) with a late afternoon breeze that gently flows in through the large ancient trees all around the area, yet in close proximity (5 minute drive) to 3 major freeways, bike lanes and public transportation. 2 other freeways are about a 10 to 15 minutes drive away. Explore away!

Other things to note
This property sits on what used to be a small local citrus farm almost 100 years ago. The trees around the are mostly large and native including some fruit trees… original Meyer lemons, mandarin oranges, and limes.

For any requested breakfast, I use on-site ingredients in cooking breakfast and will have extra fruits and snacks in the kitchen, when they are available, for consumption during breakfast hours.

Locally-grown fresh seasonal fruits from native trees are brought into the kitchen and available when in season. Fruits may include: green grapes (seasonal), anna apples (seasonal), Sweet mandarin oranges (native), Meyer lemon tree (native), and limes (year round).

Fruits, vegetables, breads, and coffee are available in the mornings in the kitchen. Upon special request, I cook breakfast meals served to your door (must be requested by 6pm the day before) and delivered at 8am.
