Island life!!!

Ever wanted to stay on an island? Now is your chance. Close to Chicago and Rockford but you’ll feel like you’re in a far away land.

We have updated the cabin so no roughing it here, wifi for those tv nights, updated bathroom and a modern kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of TVs, a vinyl player, a stereo system.

There are two houses on the island however one is under renovation so you’ll be renting the newly renovated one that we just finished June 2022. Everything is brand new. Ready for renting. The smaller house will not be ready for rental at this time. You will still get the whole island to yourself.

You’ll have the whole island (5 acres) to yourself. You can play music as loud as you want (we have an extremely loud sound system)
We have a 2 person Kayak, paddleboarded, an inflatable boat that seats 4 adults, lots of river floats, fishing rods, lots of board games, two grills and a smoker. You’ll never be bored on this island.

Our boat driver will drop you off and pick you up. If you need boat service too and from the island throughout the trip that can also be arranged.

We have a John boat you can use the entire trip included in the stay

Completely remodeled and updated 975 square foot two bedroom cottage. Featuring 65 inch flat-screen HDTV, fully modernized kitchen with new gas oven, french door refrigerator, new Serta-Perfect queen mattress in master bedroom and pillow-top queen in guest bedroom.
This cozy cottage sleeps four comfortably, and has a full dining room and laundry with washer and dryer.
Amazing river views as soon as you walk in, but this home boasts a three season room furnished with a huge L-shaped sectional couch, surrounded by windows for spectacular views and comfortable relaxation.
Outside we have a large concrete patio fully furnished including a gas grill and even a hammock. There is a large fenced in grass yard leading down a gentle slope to the river where you'll find a nice fishing dock where you will see bald eagles, deer and other wildlife.
Preferred age limit; 26 and above. no children please, two day minimum. Due to insurance no swimming is allowed. Pet friendly negotiable. Limit 2 dogs and I do have a $30 nightly pet fee.
Just to be totally open as I did have a guest mention this. About a mile down river from my place they do have a trap shooting range and in the summer and fall you may hear them practicing. If you have any concerns or have questions about when they are shooting please don’t hesitate to contact me. I was able to find the schedule online. On a side note my dog is Very noise sensitive and from that distance it doesn’t seem to bother her as we spend a lot of time there when we can.. please feel free to contact me if you have questions. As the owner of this property, I have raised all 6 of my children here, and I've handpicked almost everything you see in the house. My kids grew up coming down the stairs on Christmas morning, or playing in the woods till the sun went down, and we have spent countless meals together in this kitchen. This home and property holds so many special memories and means so much to our family, and we love that we can now share this special place with other families so they can experience that joy as well.
Having said that, it is with the utmost sincerity that we ask you to treat our home with the respect it deserves. Please understand that this isn’t just a business to us, this is where my children have been raised and where we still come together to spend quality time with each other. Our cleaning staff is like family to us, and they put a lot of time and energy into getting the house ready for each group. Please help them out by picking up the house before checkout, it’s greatly appreciated!!

The property is located on the Rock River in Oregon, IL and is perfect for group gatherings up to 8 people. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on the Rock River. Golfing at Silverridge Golf course is about 10 minutes away. Like hiking? There are multiple parks close by from Castle Rock, Lowden State Park and White Pines. These are beautiful state parks that could take days and days to do all the trails. The house is 2 ½ miles from the town of Oregon which has multiple restaurants, bars, a grocery store and a Dollar General store for any emergency necessities that may be needed. Other activities close by; horseback riding, golf, and you can enjoy a lunch or a dinner cruise on the Rock River.

The cabin on the river is a must see. If you need to get away from it all, then this is the home for you. There’s a full-size kitchen with all the amenities to cook meals, an outdoor gas grill, and multiple decks to enjoy the views of the river. If the weather is not cooperating and you just want to watch TV, you can pop in a movie in the DVD, or watch TV with Roku next to a cozy gas fireplace. There are plenty of games to choose from and lots of books if you just want to relax with a good read.

The cabin has 2 bedrooms with queen beds on the 1st floor as well as a bathroom w/jacuzzi tub. There’s a bedroom w/2 twins beds upstairs along with a bathroom and a loft area that houses another queen bed.

Feel free to bring your canoes/kayaks or rafts as there is a launch pad up by the dam in town which you can drift down till you arrive at the house. What better way to enjoy your day than to float down the river.

If you're an early riser, you can enjoy seeing the sunrise. Or, enjoy a beautiful sunset at the end of the day all from the back deck. Into bird watching? There's hardly a day that goes by that you won't see an eagle flying along the river.

1. Pets are NOT permitted under any conditions. No drugs or parties.
2. Renters will not violate any city ordinance or state law in or about the premises.
3. The maximum number of guests is limited to the number reserved for. This includes any day-use friends or family who might be staying somewhere else at night.
4. This property requires a minimum stay of two (2) nights.
6. Fires are only permitted in the downstairs fireplace and in the outside fire pit when weather permits.
7. There is no lifeguard on duty, and guests who use the swimming pool do so at their own risk. These risks include: risk of property damage, bodily injury, including, but not limited to permanent disability, paralysis, and possibly death. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult.

There is currently no dock or direct access to the river. The Oregon dam is 10 minute drive and a popular fishing destination, as well as a public boat launch in Byron (5 min drive).

We enjoyed how quiet the neighborhood was...it made for a very peaceful stay. The bed was awesome and my husband and i slept very soundly. We were most impressed with the quickness that Ryan responded to us. Communication with him was excellent which is something that is very important to us. This is a lovely country cottage, set in the middle of farm country. This adorable bungalow sits on the grounds of the area's most elite Boarding Kennel, and Canine Training Facility yet is set apart with a private yard. Dogs are allowed with approval of the owners, and boarding or day care are available at an additional fee.
The kitchen is well equipped. There are two living areas, one more formal on the main level and a more casual setting on the lower level. You will find everything you need for a quiet get away with our without your pet. Absolutely no parties or smoking on the property.

The master bedroom features a kIng sized bed with a door directly into the main bathroom. The second bedroom offers a queen sized bed, and the third bedroom has a twin bed with a trundle bed tucked underneath. All of the bedrooms have their own smart TVs. There is a smart TV in the Dining Room, and a smart TV and DVD player in the living room, over the electric fireplace. In the living room level you will find a laundry area and bathroom. There is a deck in back with chairs and tables, overlooking the fenced back yard.

If you are more than 12.5" deep, you won't get into the questionable bathroom. The third "bedroom" (basement) does not have a window a person can get through. No mice or creepy crawlies.
