You can walk around Diamond Head and take in the scenery at several vistas, and stop at some of the restaurants and shops along the way. Or, watch the surfers from the "Diamond Head Wall" with breathtaking views of some of the most popular surfing spots in Hawaii.

For Tennis and Pickleball lovers, there are plenty of public courts within Kapiolani Park, just a short walk from the Hotel.

There is a full-size kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, stove/oven).

The kitchen is fully equipped, including a coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, toaster, dishes and cookware. Modern dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave. Washers and dryers are conveniently available in the building with elevator access.

Our guests do not pay a resort fee. You don't need to rent a car! Exploring Waikiki from here without a car is convenient because it is easy to walk or take buses and taxis. There is a Russell’s convenience store selling a variety of supplies, food, snacks and alcohol just a five-minute walk from the Diamond Head Beach Hotel (adjacent to the New Otani Hotel).

There are excellent restaurants within a five-minute walk. Michel’s serving lunch and dinner is in the Colony Surf at 2895 Kalakaua. The famous Hau Tree Lanai is an open-air restaurant in the New Otani Hotel at 2863 Kalakaua and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.. The New Otani has two other nice restaurants ~ the Miyako Japanese Restaurant and the Sunset Lanai.

Further west on Kalakaua is Lulu Lulu’s at 2586 Kalakaua open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Cheeseburger in Paradise is located at 2500 Kalakaua open from 7:00 a.m. to 12 a.m. Duke’s, famous for brunch, tropical beverages and live music, is located at 2335 Kalakaua and open from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. You will also find McDonald’s, Burger King and Subway in the same area. - "We enjoyed the cleanliness of the studio apartment, security (need "key" to access the apartment's floor as well as the double entry into the apartment), parking availability ($40/day if paying for multiple days) and responsiveness to our many questions by Eve (she was quick to respond and very cordial) during our stay. The instructions on how to check in and out of the apartment as well as other facets of the apartment building that we received in an email were detailed and clear. Access to the freeway eastbound and westbound was easy to find. There's a minimart on the lower level of the apartment that's open for long hours - that's where we purchased laundry detergent and dryer sheets to do our laundry. There's a 7-eleven on the same block that we frequented for good local foods. There was also about 20 food booths/trucks across the street that had looked good and seemed to be quite popular during the evening hours. We enjoyed the strolls along Kalakaua Avenue during the early evening hours as well as several blocks on Ala Moana Boulevard to get in some exercise as well as check out the stores and eateries along the walk. The apartment is located on the Ala Moana side of Waikiki so the traffic is way less congested than in the middle of Waikiki. Overall, we (my wife and I) thoroughly enjoyed our stay there."

The stroll along the promenade into Waikiki is beautiful and relaxing, a must to grab those famous 'sunset selfies' to show to friends and loved ones.

The Suite has a small fridge, microwave, coffee machine with a few days' supply for your morning beverage.
There's a mini mart convenience store just 4 mins walk from our property that has most of the essentials and sunblock etc.

Our "Sanctuary by the Sea" is a cozy, corner, studio apartment that sits on the edge of the Diamond Head Beach Hotel and Residences building, facing famous Diamond Head State Monument on one side (our side) & the other, against the famous Gold Coast of the Pacific Ocean & Kaluahole Channel. Our unit is on the 6th floor with elevator and stair access and a great view of Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head as mentioned above and overlooks the sweeping landscape of Manoa, Palolo, and Wilhelmina Rise from the lanai. Lots of light and crosswinds make this a happy and breezy space. We also have a great little AC unit that cools the place down quickly if needed. We have somewhat of a bohemian, hindu-ish, asian, relaxed vibe with some special sculptures and pieces. We try to keep it clutter free and minimal so you have space to utilize counter space. We have a full bathtub and shower. The deep bathroom sink doubles as a kitchen sink for more space in the kitchenette, which includes pretty much everything you need to cook small meals (rice cooker, crockpot, dishes, glassware, silverware, electric griddle and burner, blender, toaster, coffee machine, electric kettle, etc.) We have a microwave oven that doubles as a convection oven as well. We also provide bathroom supplies such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper and paper towels. We offer a weather proof container filled with beach toys and gear, in addition to tennis rackets and a small cooler. Beach chairs and a fold up beach cart for easy transport to the beach. We have a mini fridge and a fold-up cart for easy transport of groceries as well in addition to drawer space for pantry items. My favorite spot is on the lanai overlooking DH, the park and our shared monkeypod tree. I also love the couch spot with a mirror reflecting Diamond Head for a cozy spot to curl up with a book or plan out your adventures around the island! PS, our cozy couch pulls out to a full-size bed fitted with new pillows, foam topper and sheets.

This peaceful part of Oahu boasts many attributes including close proximity to the fun-filled area of Waikiki, the quick access to Diamond Head, great surf spots and beach access in less than five minutes. Also located in this sweet little gem of a location is Kapiolani Park, one of the largest and 2nd oldest parks on Oahu. Both the aquarium and the zoo are in walking distance as well. Old Mans and Tongs are just 2 of the great surf breaks. Kaimana Beach is a great family friendly beach in walking distance. Take a quick hike up to the Diamond Head Lighthouse then cruise down to DH Beach Park for a refreshing cool down. Easy drive to shopping in Kahala (don't miss the Shangri-La Museum near that area), walking distance to the luxurious and outdoor mall, the International Marketplace. Maybe a 20 minute drive to our larger mall, the pristine Ala Moana. International graffiti from Hawaii's Pow!Wow! Festival along with cute cafes and boutique shops line the streets in the newly renovated area of artistic Kaka'ako is also an easy 20 minute drive. Famous Dillingham Fountain is literally right across the street from the building and is also a relaxing addition to decompressing on the lanai. Another gem in walking distance is the famous Michel's restaurant on the beach where from time to time you will find our big friends, the Hawaiian Monk Seals, beach themselves for a little rest. The legendary Kaimana Hotel boasts a long history with another ocean-front & fantastic restaurant, the Hau Tree, its namesake sitting as the staple and glorious centerpiece for this open-air experience and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is available to the public. Ala Wai Canal is just past the zoo where you can enjoy a morning walk or run while overlooking the Ala Wai Golf Course, watch the Kamehameha Canoe Club jet down the waterway, and gaze down the streets of Waikiki. Don't get me started on restaurants in these subsets surrounding our little slice of heaven! Too many to name!

Our rooftop pool will be closed from December 16, 2024, to the end of March 2025 with the possibility of extension into mid-April 2025. During this time, we’ve arranged for our guests to enjoy pool access at our neighboring hotel, the Bamboo Waikiki Resort.

Please note the following schedule for our rooftop amenities:

OPEN until February 10th, 2025: The jacuzzi, barbecue grill, recreational games, and outdoor dining areas.

CLOSED February 10th, 2025 – end of March with the possibility to Mid-April 2025 (tentative) : The entire recreational deck will be closed. Guests may continue to use the recreational deck at the Bamboo Waikiki Resort during this period.

Please do not wash red dirt in the shower or sinks as it will stain the shower or sinks. Also red dirt will clog drains. If you must please use garden hose to clean it. No muddy clothes or feces from diapers in the washer or dryer. After cooking please wipe the counters and stove as to not leave food residue. Please make sure metal security door is locked after you leave and that all appliances, fan and or lights are turned off when not in use. Being just one block off Kapahulu Street, you’ll have easy access to numerous local restaurants, all within walking distance. The beach is also just a 10-minute walk away, allowing you to fully enjoy the beach life.

This charming and compact space is ideal for solo travelers who value cleanliness and comfort. We hope to find someone who will take good care of the space and enjoy their vacation in a true local style.

The unit is equipped with basic appliances (microwave, coffee maker, small rice cooker, toaster, TV, air conditioner, and Wi-Fi). There are coin-operated laundry machines (washer and dryer) available behind the building. The kitchen includes dishware, cutlery, bath towels, and linen.

Please note that parking is prohibited on the property. However, street parking is available 24/7 around the apartment.

Private and comfortable room with private entrance located in the back of a 1939 pre-world war II Hawaiiana single wall constructed 3 bedroom home in Kaimuki with off street parking. Its close access to the freeway, Waikiki, bus lines, and University of Hawaii make it a convenient location. A brisk ten minute walk can take you to Leonard's famous malasadas (Portugese doughnut), ten minute walk to Safeway(grocery store) and a ten minute walk to Waialae avenue which is popular for restaurants.

The space
Get a good nights rest after a fun day at the beach, hike, or business meeting. New: queen - real bed, area rugs, pedestal sink, toilet, shower fixtures, and freshly painted, recently installed new remote control ceiling fans. Studio is furnished with a new coffee maker, new microwave, new mini fridge, hot water pot, cutting board and bowl.

Please feel free to use our beach towels, chairs, umbrella, and cooler for your snacks/drinks, reusable shopping bags.

The studio unit is attached to the back of the main house and doesn't share any spaces or rooms with the main house.
