This is an entirely private, self-contained and separate two-level space in half of a wonderful Laurel Canyon home. Cool and comfortable upper and lower levels - bedroom and private bathroom on upper level and living room area/kitchenette on lower level. Guests have the entire space and private outdoor patio to themselves (there are no common areas shared with the owner who lives on the property).

In addition to the queen bed upstairs (sleeps 2), there are a number of sleeping options in the downstairs living room area (sleeps 1 adult + 1 child) including a very comfortable sofa (not a pull-out), sleeping pads and futon mattress (both for the floor).

THe patio was cozy and Stephen will set up the propane fire pit for a quiet evening in the Canyon. The Laurel Canyon location is a wonderland that is filled with the musical heritage of the LA 60's and 70's music scene. It is secluded and quaint and you forget that you are in a major US city, but you are 10 minutes from Sunset Strip, 20 minutes from Universal Studios, 45 minutes from the coast and it is easy to avoid the freeways to get there! 5+ STARS!"

This Laurel Canyon hills hideaway sits above scenic views in every direction. With multiple patio areas, a 50 foot long pool and in-ground spa, this private house is the ideal getaway from the city buzz. Just 5 minutes from Sunset Blvd, 15 minutes to the Hollywood Bowl and centrally located to all of the major attractions that Los Angeles has to offer. Stacked with special amenities, this hidden gem is ideal for couples, business travelers and friend getaways.
There are 4 levels to this unique property. When you arrive, the first level features the pool area which boasts a 50-foot long pool with a spa/ hot tub. There you’ll also find pool loungers and surrounding patio seating at each corner as well as a Wet bar equipped with a TV, mini fridge and towel warmers. Guests love to unwind in the hot tub while streaming a movie.

Next you’ll walk over the pool to level 2 where you’ll find a spacious, open-concept area where the kitchen, dining area and living room are decorated with all new appliances and high-end furnishings. Surrounding is a full length patio which is perfect for outdoor dining, grilling or just taking in the spectacular views. We highly recommend having dinner and a glass of wine on the patio table facing west at sunset- it’s a vibe! The kitchen is equipped with all of the comforts one would need including a coffee bar, Keurig coffee maker, kettle, cookware, spices, condiments and snacks. The living room features a down feather couch which surrounds a Frame TV equipped with all of the streaming platforms which are available as well throughout the house. Slide open the living room table to find games and books. The dining room table was custom-designed and extends in height and length to accommodate 4-6 people. A bamboo partition also leads to the laundry area.

At level 3 is the primary bedroom with some of the most awe-inspiring views of the Canyon that parallels a Mediterranean hillside. The king size bed sits next to an additional patio with French doors - perfect for taking in the serenity while enjoying a morning coffee. This level also features a dedicated workspace with a view, wood/gas fireplace, and a 55” TV with articulating mount. A favorite area of the house is a cozy chair to work, read or watch tv. The primary bathroom features a spa jacuzzi, rain shower and wand.

Perhaps saving the best for last is level 4 at the top of the house with 180’ views of the Hollywood Hills where guests can utilize any of the amenities which include a picnic table, heat lamp, fire pit and an unparalleled union of nature and entertainment. A favorite feature is the projector where guests can sit under the stars around the fire pit and enjoy popcorn and s’mores for movie night. Highly recommended for a lasting memory!

The modified A frame design of the Sunset Zen Villa features a 20 ft high, floor-to-ceiling, wall of glass with dramatic views of the Los Angeles basin and the southern California coastline out to Catalina Island.

The home has great outdoor space with lushly landscaped decking wrapping around all four sides of the home. The outdoor area includes a large hot tub, gas grill, al fresco dining, chaises and chairs, an outdoor chandelier and tropical specimen plants throughout.

Decorated in a zen modern-style, the living room features a new sectional couch and chairs and a new rug, a dramatic chandelier, 65" TV, Samsung sound system, stylish art and sculpture. The fully equipped kitchen features high end appliances and ample counter space.

The second floor master suite is reached from a spiral staircase overlooking the living room and spectacular LA views. The master suite features a king bed, new bedding, a sitting area with a couch and fireplace and a dramatic, newly renovated, bathroom ensuite that includes a large soaking tub, large glass shower and lots of natural light.

Double doors in the master bedroom open to a lushly landscaped, spacious private patio with comfortable seating and an incredible outdoor chandelier.

The charming, main floor, guest bedroom features a queen bed, an adjacent bathroom, decorative brick walls and large arched windows looking out to a landscaped deck and the LA skyline.

This home is gated and accessible through a private driveway shared with one other home.

- "We had an amazing time during our visit. Brooke was very responsive and accommodating and the view from the hills was breathtaking! Once we arrived, we didn’t want to leave the house and we would definitely love to come back again. " - "We never got check-in information before arriving. The name of the host and phone number on VRBO was for someone that had not been with the company for a year. When we finally spoke with the actual host, she told us that because our flight landed at 730pm that's why the house wasn't ready at 4pm? This makes zero sense. She told us to go eat at a restaurant or do something for 3 hours while they get the property ready. We were traveling with children and could not wait until 1:30 am our local time for the house to be clean when it should have been ready when we got there, so we got a hotel for the night. The next day we went to the the home to check in and it was not like the pictures. Dripping AC unit onto the floor, water pooled by the glass porch. Wet used towels around the hot tub, broken and loose floor boards throughout the home and around the hot tub. Dirty water backed up in the sink, an ant covered sponge in the other sink, no water pressure in the shower. Wires sticking up through the floor. We tried to get a full refund for the first night we didn't use and they gave us back only the cost of the room not the total cost of the night with fees and tax after trying to get us to take a prorated amount for the hours between 4pm and 11pm when it was actually ready. Location is great, but the host, company, and home itself are terrible. Stay AWAY! I tried to contact this company directly before posting this and they ignored me. I lost an extra 1200 because of this place."

About the Property:
A gated entry welcomes you to this multi-level property. The open floor plan allows for natural light and effortless indoor-outdoor living.

The primary bedroom has the most dazzling views of LA and is located upstairs in the main house with a modern loft-style design with open floor plan. Guests sleep in style & comfort in the attached 1B/1B guesthouse suite and the pool is the perfect spot for soaking up the sun and enjoying happy upbeat vibes of LA.

Upstairs, across the hall from the principle bedroom is another small bedroom with flat screen tv. This bedroom #3 is furnished with queen size bed.

The guest-house has a designated office/work space. It is attached to the primary house (adjacent to the kitchen) and has an exterior entrance accessible from the terrace. The jacuzzi is located on the terrace and the pool is solar heated.

The main house is 2Bedrooms/1.5 Bathrooms and there is an attached Guest House with 1Bedroom/1Bathroom. Both bedrooms in the main house are located upstairs.

The principal bedroom is designed with a loft-style that overlooks the living room area. It has a King size bed and flat screen Tv. There is a door to the bedroom and a glass partition-wall that is open to the living room as shown in the photos. The smaller bedroom upstairs is located across the hall from the principle bedroom it has a queen size bed, flat screen tv, and a small window that lets in natural light. The Guest house is furnished with a Queen size bed, a love seat that converts to a twin bed, and a designated office area with desk. There are 3 stairs to the entrance of the guest house.

- We have the house professionally cleaned & we provide new linens (sheets/ towels) for our guest.

Very Important to Note:

- This home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, and neighbors must be respected. Absolutely no parties or outdoor events.

- Quiet hours in the Hollywood hills are from 10pm - 8am.

- No smoking permitted in interior areas

- Guest are required to provide photo ID for check-in.

- Guest are required to sign the owner's rental agreement with house rules prior to check in. We will send a rental agreement to guest once the reservation has been made.

- Utility bills are paid separately by guest. Guest will be provided a copy of utility bills at the end of their stay and the amount will be withheld from the deposit prior to its return or paid separately.

- The security deposit is $5,000 USD and will be refunded less the cost of any damages/utilities.

2) No pets allowed except for service animals as required by law.

3) No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or similar (outside and indoors). Our state-of-the-art smoke detectors notify the fire department - $500 fee for false alarms or rule violations. City Code Section 41.50 B 18 b | High Brush Fire Zone | Prevent Wildfires | It’s the LAW.

4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates. If needed, send it to our office; we'll deliver to the property on your arrival day. We're not responsible for lost mail.

5) Quiet hours: 10:00pm to 8:00am to ensure peaceful atmosphere for all guests and neighbors.

7) Pool/hot tub: Never leave children unsupervised; no lifeguard on duty. No glassware; $1000 fee if glass is found. Use provided plasticware for safety. If kitchen lacks plasticware, please inform us. Please don't dispose of plasticware; wash and store them. Pool heating: $100 per day of your reservation; hot tub is free.

8) Day of Arrival:
Let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security.

9) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.

Check Out: 10:00am. Late checkout is based upon availability and needs to be approved in advance. Our late check-out fee is $100 for every hour after 10:00am. Additionally, if you want to check-out after 12:00 pm, then you will need to pay a fee equal to one full day. Please keep this in mind as the day of your departure approaches.

10) When you are departing the property, please make sure that you do not leave anything behind. Our team is not responsible for Lost or Stolen Items. If our team finds a lost item, we will ship it back to the guest. The guest will be responsible for paying the shipping cost plus a $50 service fee.

11) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.

Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. Door handles and high-touch spots get extra care. Staff wears masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. Our exceptional cleaning surpasses CDC standards.

This property contains an exterior camera at the front door which is motion sensored and is active during guests stay.

The room you will be staying in is called Serenity Room. Located on the north west side of the home the space you will be sharing is a two bedroom two bathroom in a quiet, full serviced and secure condominium.

The room has a lock on the door to ensure your privacy. It includes a comfortable twin bed, plenty of closet and storage space, and a desk & chair upon request. You will have a semi private balcony with a lovely sunset view and it is conveniently located right next to the private full guest bathroom.

You will have your own parking space in the underground garage and there is also a laundry room with full size washer and dryer that you are welcome to use. You will also have access to the common areas of the main space including a fully equipped kitchen, living room, plush reclining sofa, SMART television, a private guest bathroom with shower, as well as a private main room balcony and semi private bedroom balcony with an outdoor lounge area. 


The adjacent bedroom is lived in by myself and sometimes my small, well behaved senior dog. I'm a creative type which is reflective in the decor throughout. I am a respectful, friendly professional working in the entertainment industry. I typically work from home but have an office setup away from the guest bedroom and shared living area. At the front of the property is a large garden with dining table and separate bench on the patio area with a pair of new adirondack chairs. At the rear is a large deck with two tables. Relax at the cafe table and enjoy your first cup of tea or coffee amongst the bougainvillea while watching the hummingbirds. The deck is especially pretty and romantic at twilight with the twinkling fairy lights - perfect for a glass of wine at the end of the day!

There is a separate studio at the back of the property. The owner has access this space.

No Air Conditioner. The house stays relatively cool but there are cooling fans if/when needed.

HOUSE RULES:
This is a permitted vacation rental with the City of LA # HSR21-001273. We have a commitment to keep noise to a minimum and respect our neighbors and community. Below are the house rules that we must enforce. Please read them as well as all your guests prior to confirming your reservation.

* Minimum age policy is 25 years old.
* Valid photo ID will be required and the full names and ages of ALL GUESTS.
* NO ADDITIONAL OVERNIGHT GUESTS WITHOUT VALID PHOTO ID AND OWNERS WRITTEN APPROVAL
* Max occupants = 4
* No parties or events
* Quiet hours: 10 pm – 8 am. No outdoor music or loud voices during this time.
* No smoking indoor or outside the property - Laurel Canyon is in an extreme fire zone.
* No pets
* In the event of an emergency to perform necessary repairs and/or maintenance, we reserve the right to enter the property.
* Check-in is after 4 pm | Check out is at 11 am

MAX NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS:

The Property is to be occupied by no more than the maximum sleep number stated on reservation unless approved in writing by Management. If Guest exceeds the occupancy limit and falsifies occupancy information at the time of reservation, Guest shall be subject to eviction. "Occupants" includes small children, infants and any and all visitors. If more than the maximum number is found to be occupying the Property at any time, you agree that a charge of $100 per person/per day will be made to your credit card. Additionally, this Agreement may be immediately terminated without a refund of any amounts paid. No Exceptions.

STRICTLY NO PARTIES OR EVENTS - due to the City of LA's strict ban of parties of large groups we need exact headcounts of your guests at all times.
A party is defined as any combination of the following; ANY loud noise and/or excessive drinking that is disruptive to neighboring houses and/or guests outnumbering the maximum amount permitted as defined above. A party will result in an immediate eviction from the property with no refund given under any circumstance. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by owner in writing prior to the arrival date.

NEIGHBOUR COMPLAINTS
Actions by guests that result in neighbor complaints or police being called to the Property will result in a minimum $250 charge, which charge will be used to deal with legal issues and fines.

CITY OF LA NOISE ORDINANCE - QUIET HOURS: 10 pm – 8 am. No Outdoor Music or Loud Voices during this time. Please be mindful of our neighbours during your stay. The property's quiet hours are in place to ensure that you and our whole community can enjoy a restful night's sleep. We are dedicated to protecting our guests and neighbors from bothersome levels of noise. In an effort to do so, this property is equipped with NoiseAware technology. NoiseAware is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property.

Guest access
For those who love to be surrounded by trees yet close to city life, this cottage is perfect! An escape from the city yet close to West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Studio City and more. The iconic Sunset Strip is a 10 minute walk / 5 minute drive from the cottage. Santa Monica is 30-40 minutes drive and Malibu an hour. A short stroll from the cottage is Laurel Canyon's famous Country Store immortalized by Jim Morrison in The Doors' song, ”Love Street” as the "store where the creatures meet". There are plenty of hikes locally and lovely neighborhood walks.

Other things to note
Laurel Canyon is full of Rock and Roll history and famous as home to many of L.A.'s rock musicians. Perhaps most famously, the area served as inspiration for Joni Mitchell's third album, Ladies of the Canyon, released in 1970. "Love Street" was written by the Doors about this area in Laurel Canyon where lead singer Jim Morrison once resided. The Doors are one of the most influential american groups in rock and roll history, and embodied the communal and psychedelic spirit of the 1960s Laurel Canyon.

Today, Laurel Canyon still retains its friendly creative vibe and has a strong neighbourly community. The famous Country Store is where everyone hangs out and relaxes with a coffee from Lily's Coffee cart. It is a beautiful place to live - surrounded by nature ( it is not uncommon to spot the deer grazing on the hill ) and nestled amongst the eucalyptus and jacaranda trees. Laurel Canyon is close to some wonderful hiking trails including Franklin Canyon, Tree People, Griffith Park and Runyon Canyon. Take in the views from Mullholland Drive and watch the sun go down over the city.

A five minute drive away is Sunset blvd & Hollywood blvd with all its restaurants, nightlife, and attractions. Lots of great hiking trails are close by - Runyon Canyon, ( just off Mullholland Drive ), and Fryman Canyon are within a 10 minute drive, and Griffith Park, and the Hollywood sign are within 15-20 minutes away. If you fancy getting away further afield, Malibu with its gorgeous beaches and national parks is 40 minutes, and the charming town of Santa Barbara is 90 minutes up the Pacific Coast Highway.

This guest bedroom has a queen bed, suitable for a single person (or a couple would be an additional $89 per night.) There is another room available for other guests we may have at the time of your stay, or you are invited to reserve the other two rooms with us, separately booked on airbnb.

All bedrooms are overlooking hillside trees and guests awake refreshed and relaxed in the canyon.

The house was built in 1959 and has a casual south-of-France feel. We are on a quiet CUL DE SAC, with wrap-around porch and usual amenities: Washer/Dryer, Refrigerator, Microwave, Glass Cook Top and Oven, TV, DVR, W-FI, Pool, two seating areas, and large dining table to seat 12 for lovely dinners. Or join the host at one of the major comedy clubs on the Sunset Strip!

Important Info: For winter swims, we request an additional utility fee of $50 day and it takes 2-3 days for heating, with a 3 day lead for truly bathtub temperature pool. This is a non-smoking residence, indoors or out. Canyon Country Store is 5 minutes away, as is the four star restaurant Pacé. Enjoy a coffee and you may see some Hollywood stars writing and hanging there. A car is usually recommended for staying in the Hollywood Hills, and Uber or Lyft work also!

Your lovely bedroom is across from a little laundry room you are welcome to use, shared large bathroom with tub/shower and a powder room at entry. Plus outdoor hot shower by the pool! Great to dip in the cool pool then enjoy a steaming shower!

During your stay
We have two guest bedrooms available and listed on Airbnb, so you may encounter another guest during your stay! I am a comedian and you are welcome to join me for laughs at world-class shows at the Comedy Store, The Improv, The Ice House, and the Laugh Factory!

We encourage guests to "keep the party down the hill." Any meet ups with friends are to be held away from our residence for everyone's privacy, thank you!

We are 1,000 ft above sea level, Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills is the perfect equi-distance between Sunset Boulevard and the Valley! (Car recommended in the hills!)

This bedroom has a queen size bed, a view of the trees on the hillside, with good closet space. The laundry is across the hall, and 1 bathroom with soaking tub. Large windows, perfect for a writers! We've had several successful writers stay expressly to complete their projects in the quiet of the Canyon, with quick access to local restaurants and studio meetings.

Old Douglas Fir wood floors, an open floor plan and is terrific for enjoying meals at the oversized dining room table or by the fire. And join us at the World Famous Comedy Clubs on the nearby Sunset Strip!

We're on a quiet Cul-De-Sac - great hiking in the hills - challenging, steep, winding streets and rabbits and coyotes visit at night. Perfect respite from the city, yet right in the middle of LA's night life. Abundant, safe street parking.

Our home is a four-story residence situated on Grand View Drive in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. Perched high in the hills, the house offers expansive views and an abundance of natural light.
