Our home is a meticulously and creatively restored Mid-western farmhouse from the turn of the last century. It has a unique back garden with a large, shady stone patio surrounded by mature Maple trees and Redbud trees, along with beautiful shade perennials. The patio is comfortably furnished with wrought iron tables and chairs, benches and grill. There is also a sunny lawn surrounding the shaded patios.

There is a front porch with wicker furniture. In the lower level, along with exercise equipment, l there is a Finnish Sauna.

Given the dire nature of our global COVID-19 situation, we will have our place professionally cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival, with our cleaners following an enhanced cleaning process as part of the COVID-19 safety practices.

GENERAL (INDOOR):

You will have access to the whole house except the garage and utility area. This house is newly refurbished, from electrical work to appliances to the myriad of furnishings. The carpeting all throughout the house is brand-new, as is the tiling in the laundry room and full bathroom. All curtains and some light fixtures have been replaced to allow more light into the house, while also providing a cozy sleeping and wake-up experience. At the same time, we chose to maintain some of the original aspects of the house, so as to not fully rid the place of its charm. In regards to the fun features, we have a full-sized ping pong table (with paddles and balls provided) in the basement, board games & card games, children's books, and our previously-mentioned smart TVs with complimentary Netflix. For those that expect to get some work done, there is also a private office in the basement. Our WiFi network name and password will be provided in our welcome book. For our wintertime guests, feel free to use the fireplace. We just ask that you close the hatch after its use, and that you bring your own firewood.

GENERAL (OUTDOOR):

You will also have exclusive access to the whole backyard, the deck, and our grill. If you use the grill, please replace the gas for the next guests and be sure to clean and cover it after use. Further instructions for the grill will be included in our welcome book. The deck has a 6-person outdoor dining table & chairs for enjoying summer- and fall-time meals with a side of fresh air. We also have a fire pit that can be used to roast marshmallows or just warm up on colder days. Please be advised that that our lawn care team comes on Wednesdays to mow the lawn. They will enter and leave the backyard through the back gate, so as to not disturb you during your stay. We ask that our guests only access the backyard from the left sliding glass door and that you avoid all other doors, especially the back gate. This gate has undergone several recent small, temporary repairs, so we think it's best to just avoid using it altogether for safety purposes. In addition, the side, wooded walkway to the backyard from the front of the house should be avoided.

KITCHEN & DINING AREA:

Our kitchen is fully equipped. In addition to a fridge/freezer, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, and toaster, we have a drip coffee pot (along with coffee, creamer, and sugar), a Brita water pitcher, a blender, a rice cooker, and a slicer. We also provide a full set of pots & pans, cutlery, and cooking utensils. Grill utensils are in the kitchen drawers. Our dining nook seating comfortably seats 5 people; for the additional person, there's ample space on the end for a folding chair.

BATHROOMS:

We have a full bath upstairs and a half bath on the first floor. We will be providing body wash, shampoo, and conditioner but understand that many guests bring their preferred choices. Moreover, we will be providing towels, washcloths, q-tips, makeup remover pads, and cotton balls. We ask that guests please place their dirty towels (prior to checkout) in one of the two designated laundry baskets (located in the master bedroom and the laundry room). We will providing enough toilet paper for a 2-week stay. For those staying longer, we ask that you please purchase any extra, beyond what we will be providing.

BEDROOMS:

Our bedrooms contain, respectively, queen, full, and twin beds. There is storage space in all three bedrooms, both for folding and hanging clothes (hangers are provided as well). Bedroom #3 has a student desk that can be used for homework or catching up on some late night emails before bed. All bedrooms have full-length mirrors and room-darkening curtains.

ADDITIONAL SLEEPING:

Guests can feel free to sleep on the futon in the basement or make use of the pullout full bed in the family room sectional. If you need to use the futon, you might need to move the coffee table up a little bit or just move it over to side, in order to allow for enough space to flatten the futon from it's upright position. Extra pillows and linens are located underneath the basement stairs and in the linen closet upstairs.

BUGS:

The area in which our house is located is very close to several parks, a couple small bodies of water, and a forest preserve, not to mention that we are in a residential neighborhood. As a result, bugs are fairly commonplace both in and out of the house, especially in the spring and summertime. We do utilize a pest control service that helps with pest mitigation, but given the area in which we live, it just isn't fully possible to rid our house of all bugs. The best defense against these bugs is to keep all doors closed as much as possible. We do apologize in advance though if you come across any bugs while staying at our place.

LOCATION: The best thing about this house is the walkable location. Just three blocks to the River Walk for shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. THE HOME: This old Sears catalog house was built in 1914, but has been thorough renovated for modern living and style. The main floor has an open floor plan encompassing the family room, den, dining table, and kitchen. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: 1 queen bed; 1 queen bed (w/ twin bed sleeping loft); 1 twin bed. All bedrooms rooms feature vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans.

AMENITIES: The home is furnished and equipped for everything needed for a long term stay. The kitchen is supplied with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils needed for a home cooked meal. Bedding and bath linens and spares are provided for each room. High-speed wireless internet reaches to the back deck and the front porch for some serious work.

HISTORIC CHARM: Old homes are beautiful, filled with charm, but also have their quirks and this 100+ year old home is no exception. While the house has been thoroughly renovated, you will discover a few of these charms, such as a few windows that are difficult to open or a creaky floor here and there. The washer and dryer are located in the limestone walled basement, which may be judged by kids as "a little creepy".

This two-story 3 Bedroom 2.5 bath townhouse is fully equipped, and fully stocked to ensure a pleasant and peaceful stay.

As you enter the home you'll notice the open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen that freely allows you to move about the space and entertain, or pick a comfy seat to relax in.
The kitchen has newly updated cabinets, and countertops and a separate area to relax and eat. We also have a walkout in the dining area that leads to a shady courtyard where you could sit and wind down.

There are walking and bikinr trails just down the road. Just a few minutes from I-88 freeway to get you downtown Chicago. Great value for a room in Naperville. The mid and lower levels of the home are available for you to use. There is a kitchen, living and family rooms as well as a dining room table, and outdoor decks. You will have access to the coffee maker, teapot, as well as all kitchen utensils and cookware. You will have some space in the refrigerator if you'd like to purchase food for you to use. We have added a small refrigerator , microwave and can provide a coffee pot (should you request) to your space. We also have a washer and dryer as well as an iron and ironing board. One load of laundry soap will be included.

During your stay
I am now retired, but am out and about during the day, mostly, but will be home in the evenings. We are very well traveled, and friendly. We are happy to recommend food delivery, restaurants, activities, and transportation to different places.

Other things to note
We have a beautiful neighborhood with a connecting walking path to Naperville's River Walk. It runs along the Western Branch of the DuPage River. Easily walkable (~1 mile) to things like Naperville's art fair, “Last Fling", Summer Concerts and Downtown Naperville.

The second bedroom has a trundle bed which allows for extra space when needed. There is plenty of storage with a dresser, a built in shelf and closet.

The lower level houses the laundry station. The washer and dryer are new as of 2022. You’ll find drying racks, laundry baskets and laundry soap supplies.

The space
THE HOME: This old Sears catalog house was built in 1914, but has been thorough renovated for modern living and style. The main floor has an open floor plan encompassing the family room, den, dining table, and kitchen. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: 1 queen bed; 1 queen bed (w/ twin bed sleeping loft); 1 twin bed. All bedrooms rooms feature vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans.


AMENITIES: The home is furnished and equipped for everything needed for a long term stay. The kitchen is supplied with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils needed for a home cooked meal. Bedding and bath linens and spares are provided for each room. High-speed wireless internet reaches to the back deck and the front porch for some serious work.


HISTORIC CHARM: Old homes are beautiful, filled with charm, but also have their quirks and this 100+ year old home is no exception. While the house has been thoroughly renovated, you will discover a few of these charms, such as a few windows that are difficult to open or a creaky floor here and there. The washer and dryer are located in the limestone walled basement, which may be judged by kids as "a little creepy".

Newly renovated spacious (1,800 sq. ft.) townhome with an additional (600 sq. ft.) finished full basement. Located near Naperville downtown, approximately 1.0 miles away. Also conveniently located near Jewel groceries, Costco, Peet's Coffee, Starbucks, Walgreen and H-mart (Asian Supermarket). The Metra (BNSF) station is 0.5 miles away.

The space
The unit has two bedrooms with two beds. A bathroom is located between the two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a office space with a computer to access the internet and a TV.

The basement studio has a full bathroom, a sofa bed, a twin bed and a small office space, which also includes a computer to access the internet and a TV.

Guest access
We provide access to Netflix, Max (HBO & Discovery Plus), Disney Plus, Hulu, Amazon Video and ESPN Plus.

Also, WIFI is provided across the whole unit.

House Rules

1. Take off shoes at entrance. (We take pride in keeping the unit clean and tidy for all our guest, please be respectful and take off your shoes within the living areas.)

2. No Smoking inside the house (Cigarette butts must be disposed of in the ashtray provided in the back yard of the property.)

3. No pets allowed.

4. No food or drinks in the bedrooms. (Please use the dining areas when eating and drinking.)

5. Quiet hours start at 11PM. (Please be respectful of neighbors and keep the noise to a minimum after 11pm.)

6. No parties or events. (There are no parties or events allowed on the property.)

7. Turn off lights and appliances & shut doors and windows before leaving the property. (For your safety, please make sure to shut off gas on the stove.)

8. No unregistered guest allowed. (There is a maximum guest capacity of 6 people. There might be some exceptions made for and added fee of $80 per person. Please discuss with the host before booking.)

9. Wash dishes and throw away trash. (Please wash dishes that you have used and throw away trash before checking out.)

10. Report any damages and/or breakage in a timely manner. (Damages exceeding security deposit amount must be paid by guest and will be reported to Airbnb.)

11. Two car maximum and parking only in the arch driveway. (Park only on the arch driveway. Do not block the garage entrance.)
