The property is placed on 9 acres of land with wonderful view. Very private and quiet. Perfect place to be out of the city . 400 ft balcony above the water gives a beautiful sunset view. You can enjoy fishing, biking , walking to the near woods area. We are 4 miles away from downtown Newton . The house is 20 min away from Effingham where u can find restaurants , shopping malls , bars , coffee shops . The house was build like a hunting lodge in mind . The walls are decorated with antique guns ( which are not functional, they are artifacts ) , taxidermy figures to create the perfect image of a European hunting lodge .

Enjoy this whole house with plenty of space. It’s 2 stories with 2 full bathrooms and an equipped kitchen. Wifi and Smart TV. There are 3 private bedrooms, as well as an air bed in the upstairs extra living space. A washer and dryer are available for use as well. This house is comfortable and clean, but nothing fancy. We have a lot of traveling contractors and workers in our area, so the house is tailored to suit their needs.

We are 4 miles away from downtown Newton where u can find gas stations, grocery stores. The house is also 20 minutes away from downtown Effingham where u can find restaurants, shopping malls, bars, coffee shops.
The house was built like a hunting lodge in mind. The walls are decorated with antique guns(which are not functionable, they r only artifacts), taxidermy figures to create the perfect image of a European hunting lodge.

- "stayed 7/24-30, multi family trip, ages 11-65. had fun! spacious, tons of potential, needs some serious TLC if they continue to rent. a/c went out on the second day. owner sent a tech right away and eventually the issue was fixed. tv in the basement only has 4 cannels - all PBS. that tv (along with all of the stereo and dj equipment) was useless. owner should remove equipment - takes up tons of space and didn't work. tv should be updated to smart tv. middle floor has smart tv. kitchen was spacious but the countertops were filled with too many small appliances, not enough countertop space. lots of random utensils. stovetop worked but the oven did not, unable to cook several meals that we had already bought groceries for. top floor bedrooms were comfy bc they had window a/c units. beds were ok, nothing fancy but all were comfy enough for us. SO MANY wasp nests on the property - needs some serious pest control. boat ran but was rundown and had several wasp nests in it. kayak had no paddles. lake was not swimmable- we drove 40mins to beach to swim several days. lots of animal remains on the property. need more garbage bins outside! could have been cleaner - clumps of hair and socks under couches when moved, bugs in tub and sinks, etc. loose dog came on the property several times, unsafe. house met most of our needs. with TLC, house could be AMAZING! house would be 5/5 if owner removed unnecessary stuff, gave it some TLC, and made it more renter-focused, felt lived in."

The space
Our loft has a studio layout with a private attached bathroom. It is on the top floor (up a flight of stairs) of one of Jasper County's original buildings. The first jail was housed in the basement in the 1900's. This building once boasted the first "water closet" in town. The renovated space once inhabited by local families, also served as office space.

Guest access
Your stay grants you access to the second floor loft. Enter the building and you will find a doorway marked LOFT. From there, you will access via a private code and go upstairs to enjoy a studio style apartment space. One large room with living, dining/kitchenette, office space and sleeping area. You will also have a private full bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Street parking is available as well as a private parking lot to the rear. A sensory garden, interactive mural and outdoor seating/yard space is available. It is perfect for a small bocce game, some al fresco dining or just a little fresh air. Bike over to the Eagle Trail system that starts at the old river bridge and trek to Sam Parr State Park! Guest membership at our neighboring local gym or a private dance lesson at the nearby Dance Hall is also available upon request. Ask about a private healing massage or yoga session on site as well!

We have a main floor master bedroom that is a queen size bed. The room is next to another bedroom that has a bunk bed with trundle bed which can sleep up to 3 people.
The main floor has beds for up to 5 people.

Up stairs you will find 2 bedrooms with queen beds in each room.
The upstairs hall is furnished with a velvet couch.

This is a very old home and due to the age some things a bit limited like outlets. We do have a power strip in the hall up stairs but some rooms do not have outlets. This home is meant for connection with people so we encourage being able to disconnect from technology and soak in the beauty the slowness and relax in a piece of history.

4 Bedroom - 3 full bath home. The second living room has a sleeper sofa. This property can comfortably sleep 10. This cozy home is located on a quiet street, just blocks away from downtown Newton. Great fishing at Newton Lake is approximately 10 miles away. Enjoy an outdoor movie at one of the few Drive In Theatres (seasonal) left in the state. Sam Parr State Park has a beautiful picnic area with an easy walk through the woods around the lake. And many other fun stops to enjoy!.

Our home features a large living room and family room. The dining area is perfect for enjoying family gatherings. The master bedroom has a walk in shower and garden tub. Two bedrooms are joined by a Jack and Jill bathroom. The fourth bedroom has access to a bathroom featuring a tub/shower combination. There is also a washer and dryer available for use.

Pets are not allowed. If guests arrive with pets, all security deposits will be forfeited.
