We’re apparently among the early visitors. We were on the second floor (a walk-up) (we’re a couple in our 70s, still reasonably mobile; stairway to 2nd floor could be challenge for some). The 2nd floor can accommodate up to 7, say, for a group, or a smaller number of individuals or couples. Three 2nd floor bedrooms, small, (each with its own digital lock); but spacious common TV, dining area, and modern kitchen, and modern bathroom — all simply but tastefully appointed. The immediate neighborhood is not fancy but seemed safe. A $15 Uber/Lyft ride to downtown, slightly more from/to O’Hare. For us, making a short overnight stay en route to connecting with Chicago friends and rental car travel to a neighboring state, this was an excellent value, and an enjoyable guesthouse experience!"

This is the main floor apartment with its own private entrance and exit to both the front entrance of home and the rear entrance of the apartment and the back yard. Fully furnished with two bedrooms 1 bath plus an office. Kitchen has been recently remodel with stainless appliances and a new washer dryer sits off the kitchen. THE SPACE:
The apartment is located in a newly remodeled traditional Chicago multi-flats building from the early 1900. It sits in an urban neighborhood and as an older building some noise transmission from the street and between units is inevitable, similar to what may naturally occur in any apartment building.

Please note that the private parking behind the building is shared between three units and is on First Come First Serve basis. It can hold up to 4 cars stacked 2 by 2, which means that in order not to block guests from other units by parking behind them, only two units can potentially park at the same time. If your party is traveling with multiple cars, please park one behind another as a courtesy to other guests. Free street parking is also available.

As is typical in classic Chicago homes, some noise from upstairs neighbors walking around may be heard. Some HVAC vents have lower ceiling clearance; guests over 6 feet should be mindful - but it doesn’t affect the comfort or usability of the overall space.

Air Conditioning & Heating Note:
The unit has central air conditioning that is shared with the upstairs unit, and the temperature is centrally controlled—so it cannot be adjusted from inside the unit. However, you can control the heat from inside the unit to suit your comfort.
