- "We booked the "Beachy" unit in this home, but were given the smaller "Peaceful" unit on arrival. That left us with a single bed for four people. Two of us had to sleep on the floor (Pacifica was booked up for an archery event). We contacted the host, and they were willing to cancel the second night, but we were left with the full first night for a more expensive unit and a host fee that was higher than the cost of the room. The host blamed Expedia/Hotels.com for the mistake, but neither is willing to make it right. The space was clean but very tight even for two people. The floor felt damp (possibly from a recent cleaning) and the bathroom was just behind a thin plastic accordion door right next to the bed (not for anyone feeling shy or romantic). We did not have access to any patio or terrace."

The space
This custom built 3bd/2bath Tuscan, Mediterranean style home, is in the quiet canyon neighborhood of Rockaway Beach, Pacifica. This house gives you the feeling no other will with it's beautiful natural light glowing throughout house, warm plaster walls, and radiant heat floors. On the first floor, you will find an open floor plan, which combines the kitchen, dining, and living area with balcony to enjoy views of street/neighborhood.

Cabo San Pedro has been in my family since 1964, and in recent years has been a very cozy vacation home for my Dad, my six siblings and our families. As the highest house on Pedro Point, we are graced with stunningly gorgeous panoramic views (no iPhone required). Perfect for a couple’s weekend, a business trip, or a solo retreat! For those who can’t bear to leave this special place, a fully equipped kitchen lets you comfortably eat in. Other amenities include a flat screen TV in the sitting area, and my Grandma’ s heirloom dining table.

As the highest house on Pedro Point, we are fortunate to have the best views around. We have an electric tram/funicular to carry people and luggage up the hill from the street level parking to the house. There are 12 steps from the driveway to the tram and another 15 steps from the tram to the penthouse, so our place is probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Some of our guests love to skip the tram and take the 180 steps from the street up to the house, it's up to you.

The penthouse is my Dad's favorite place to stay when he's here. It has an open, spacious layout with a full kitchen, sitting area, two dining areas and the sleeping area, plus a large bathroom. Huge picture windows go straight across facing the ocean and wrap around onto both sides giving us the amazingly beautiful views that make our place so well known. Whether you're sitting inside, enjoying a meal at my Grandma Joyce's hexagonal dinner table, lounging on the sofa, or delighting in the large deck, you'll be sure to love the our cosy place and its stellar views.

We're not the Ritz-Carlton, but if you're looking for a great place to stay in Pacifica, you have found it!

We are conveniently located in the laid back surf town beauty of Pacifica, and are just a quick drive into San Francisco and elsewhere in the Bay Area. Sonoma and Napa Valley are less than two hours drive north. It's usually a twenty minute drive to SFO (depending on traffic).

At the bottom of the hill from us is Soul Grind Coffee Roasters, Orange Theory Gym, Humble Sea Brewing Co Hight Tide Cafe & Creperie, Grocery Outlet, Burger Board, Nor Cal Surf Shop, La Playa Mexican. restaurant, and Ace Hardware.

There are two queen beds in the bedroom and a queen pull-out sofa bed in the living room. There is plenty of space to hang out inside and out. A large, open living space will meet all your needs, with a full kitchen, and a table that seats six. The bathroom is spacious, modern, and spotless. The best part is the large patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean - a great place to end the day while enjoying the sunset.

This guest suites is located in a unique spot in the quaint coastal town of Pacifica, in the Sharp Park Beach area. We are a small suburb of San Francisco, but you will feel like you are in a small town. A place where you run into your neighbors around town, and the locals are all very friendly. We pride ourselves on our "beach town" feel, of being relaxed, laid back, and appreciative of the beauty of nature.

If you want to be social, let us know, we love to meet new people. However, you probably wont see us at all, unless you specifically request to see us (or of course in case you need something or have an emergency, we are there for you).

The best way around the area is by car, but if you need to travel a distance or don't mind a good hike, stores, restaurants, and the beach are within walking distance... just beware that there is quite a steep climb to return home.

Just 15 minutes from SFO or downtown San Francisco, you are close to everything, but far from the hustle and bustle. You can even walk to the beach if you like!

You can drive to downtown San Francisco or take transit (we are just 10 minutes to the nearest BART station and only 15 minutes by train from there.) Easy access to freeways in any direction gets you wherever you want to go in the Bay Area.

There is plenty of parking here on site, both on the street or in the driveway closer to the side entrance of our house.

If you like to travel with a furry companion, we have a few common sense rules for everyone’s safety and enjoyment. For dogs, we require you keep them leashed when walking them because there are a lot of other dogs in the neighborhood and wild animals here in the hills and that you pick up after them. We also require that you don't leave them alone here, under any circumstances, ever. Finally, we ask for an additional $100 fee for cleaning to ensure we do a good job of removing all traces for our next guests so they never even know.

The private entrance guest suite is located downstairs in our 2-story home. My partner and I live upstairs and we both work from home. We are in our 40s-50s with 4 cats, no kids. See profile for more on us. We don't wear shoes in the house and don't party. And sorry folks, no parties allowed in the unit.

We have insulated the unit but this is shared living so you will hear some noise transfer. Your bedroom is below our kitchen and your living room is below our living room (and Charlene works in there--my office is on the other side of the house). The bedroom is on the street side. It has a double-paned window but you can hear cars (most through traffic during commute hours). Our bedroom is also on the street side but on second floor on other side of the house.

No pets allowed. No kids. We unfortunately cannot accommodate children because the unit and the backyard are not set up for them due to sharp edges, no childproof cabinets, unfenced hillside, ceramics, etc.

This spacious one bedroom unit is the middle floor of our duplex house, it comes with a well equipped kitchen and the absolute best views in all of Pacifica. You can see all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge on clear days, and when it’s foggy it feels like you are sitting in the clouds. There is a huge deck and we are fortunate to have birdsong all around. We overlook Pacifica Beach where there are surfers out every day of the year, often before the sun rises. There are whales to be seen out in the water, as well.

Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway, or just a home base for your adventures in San Francisco, our place will be perfect. In order to get up to our stunning views, there are quite a few steps that must be walked up, so we don’t recommend our place to anyone with mobility issues. We do have an electric tram that will carry your luggage and groceries up, so you won’t need to carry anything up more than a small amount of steps.

-Any drug use, including marijuana is prohibited. Cigarette smoking is not allowed inside the house, you may smoke in designated smoking areas in the backyard of the house, but not in the side yard.

- Report any damage to us immediately. so We can arrange for its replacement or repairs.

- Garbage Bins take out on Monday’s evening, bring back on Tuesday after emptied. Otherwise, A dumping fee of $50 will be charged after your stay.

- Please make sure Heat is turned off after leaving the house every time and during final checkout. An energy charge of $50 will be charged for each occurrence.

- "A cute and cheery little house in a quiet neighborhood so close to the beach! My favorite thing about it is its location. We live just on the other side of the bay but decided to stay on the coast for 3 nights while our kid attended surf camp at the beach. Beach is an easy 10-minute walk away. We pretty much walked every day to everywhere! To coffee shop, grocery store, ice cream, the cutest destination Taco Bell Cantina, and the scenic short trail to dinner in Rockaway Beach. The only drive we took was to surprisingly really good fish and chips on the north end of Pacifica; my English husband approved! The house itself is clean and very well-appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beddings were so cozy and comfortable—I want them for our house. Though we didn’t need it, access to a washer and dryer was nice to have “just in case”. My husband and I were able to work remotely with wifi. There was also plenty other extras. Overhead lighting was bright, almost too bright in the common areas! Plenty of natural light in every room during the day from all the large windows, which I also really liked. I can be obsessive about controlling light with blinds. The one thing we weren’t used to was light coming through back bedrooms at sunrise with closed blinds. We’re not morning people AND it was particularly sunny during our stay. I didn’t know anything about Pacifica at all until this stay. I’d definitely recommend this house and location to friends and family."

The only correction to note is that the walk to the beach is slightly longer than the five minutes stated in the property description. Google Maps calls it an 11 minute walk to the closest corner of the beach parking lot or 13 minutes to the sand. With our slower group of adults, teens and one three year old it took about 15 minutes to walk to the beach parking lot and another 5 minutes to our spot on the sand. We were still thrilled, though, to be able to walk there and not have to try to park our car at the beach. This is a wonderful home - we would love to stay here again in the future."

- "I travel to SSF fairly often, and Milbrae is one of my preferred places to stay when I am travelling for work. David's place was in a lovely neighbourhood - it's a quiet and safe location, and I couldn't really even hear the planes despite being so close to the airport!. The cottage is clean, *very* comfortable bed, great little kitchenette with gas cooker and fridge freezer - perfect for making small meals if one does not fancy eating out. Utility room and small study area were a great bonus. Location is great - you will need a car - but Trader Joe's and Safety a 6 minute drive away, the i280 is literally 3 mins away, and so it is very easy to drive into town, or out to Pacifica etc if you fancy some nice coastal walks. All in all a perfect stay for my business trip. I'm bookmarking this place for all my future stays from now on! And a huge thank you to David and Ling for their wonderful hospitality - was really lovely meeting you!"

GUEST VERIFICATION:

- Paying a non-refundable $60 damage waiver. The damage waiver provides coverage for accidental damage during your stay, as long as it is reported prior to your check-out. The damage waiver covers accidental damage that may occur during your stay. To ensure coverage, all damage must be reported promptly while you’re still at the property. - "Clean and tidy rental. Great views and open floor plan to enjoy them. House was a tad warm in the evenings - we purchased fans to help with air flow. Screens on doors- porches would allow for opening and the evening cool air and winds to cool the house. Seemed as if this is a full time residence with all the clothing and stored closet items. We enjoyed the stay for our short time."

You will have access to the entire house and its attached upper-level deck. Check-in is convenient with smart locks, allowing you to arrive anytime, even if your flight lands late at night. You will receive the passcode once your booking is confirmed.

The separate basement is reserved for supplement storage. You and your family/friends will be the only ones staying on the property.

There are 7 steps to the main entrance from the porch, and an additional 7 steps in the staircase to the upper level.

- Only guests named at booking are allowed on the premises. Violation of this rule will result in immediate eviction. Ask for approval, if you have visitors.

- NO PETS: We have a no pet policy, but if you must bring a pet, there is a fee of $200 per pet per stay.

- NO SMOKING: We maintain a strict no-smoking policy for the well-being of all guests. Any evidence of smoking inside the house will result in a $500 penalty.

- Late Check Out: Our cleaning company requires sufficient time to prepare the house, so they always begin their work promptly. The fee for late check-out is $80 for every 30 minutes.

- No Outdoor Shoes: Please note that our house has a no-outdoor shoe policy to ensure a consistently clean environment. We provide hotel slippers in case you don't bring them with you.

- To maintain a fresh interior, the fireplace is not to be used.

*Before booking, please thoroughly read our house rules. The main guest must be 30 years old, *sign* the pool waiver and good neighbor, complete our check-in form, sharing guest and visitor plans, and have positive review history.

These are our *zero-tolerance* house rules. Breaking *any of them* during your stay puts you at risk of immediate removal from the property, without any refund:

-only the # of guests booked on the reservation are allowed to stay overnight
-any additional visitors/plans for visitors must be disclosed to the host prior to the booking
-there can be no noise complaints from neighbors
-there can be no parking complaints from neighbors

If you feel your plans or guests are not aligned with this, there are other properties in the area that will work better for you.

We are Jessica and Alan. Alan is a builder and Jessica is a shoe designer. Together we labor over the details that define quality construction, safe, smart design, and gorgeous enduring comfort.

Alan’s hosting journey began as a kid, helping his Mom make beds for their family-owned Bed and Breakfast. And Jessica's began when her Father's floral design business lured her into her passion for colors, textures, then later textiles and high functional 3D art.

As a family, our love of travel and recent job opportunities have taken us away from our home and on to new adventures, bringing things full circle.

Our appreciation for authentic connections has afforded us the chance to meet some incredible people by hosting guests in our home. Our humble experiences from traveling have taught us so much about service, attentiveness, patience, and gratitude. We truly enjoy sharing our home and tending to the needs of our guests, and look forward to hosting you soon.

Here's the layout of our home:

When you enter, we ask you to remove your shoes on that small landing area (if not outside before entering). Then, you can go up or down.

Up to the main living level, it's wide open to the dining, kitchen, and two living areas. Or, you can go straight ahead down the hallway to one of three bedrooms (king, queen, two twins), and two full bathrooms.

Off the sitting area by the kitchen is a lovely deck with a grill, patio umbrella, and seating for six, overlooking the pool and back patio areas.

Oh, and also the canyon.

If you enter the home and take the stairs down, you'll find three more bedrooms:

one on the right, with two queen beds and a large TV (ideal for kids)
one on the left, with one queen bed
one straight ahead, with one queen bed

and another very large full bathroom

All the bathrooms have newly renovated showers and plush towels provided for each guest to use during your stay.



There will be a $150/day charge to heat the pool for the first two days, then $80/day for each following day.

We heat the pool to around 82 degrees, which is the recommended temperature according to the American Red Cross and the National Pool Institute. This is warm enough to keep bacteria from growing, yet warm enough to take the chill off.

At booking, we send a form to understand if you'd like the pool heated, if you're bringing pets, kids, etc.


Unfortunately, we cannot heat the pool and stock your favorite creamer without advanced notice.

We keep one pack-n-play, a high chair, and two baby gates in the home, which guests are free to use during the stay. Any damages to these items, or failure to adequately replace them where they belong, will result in a $25 fee or replacement costs, if necessary. Our cleaning crew and other guests rely on these items being found in certain places and in certain conditions, and don't appreciate any surprise inconveniences at check-in or turnover times.

Outside/Pool Area is Accessible**:

-via the upstairs sliding doors off the kitchen/deck
-via the downstairs sliding doors off the bedroom with the two queen beds
-via the upstairs master bedroom with the king bed

**{There is no pool access from the outside gates of the home.}

Should it become too warm in the Summer, there are three window A/C units that, collectively, cool all of the upstairs and downstairs of the home. They are best used as blast coolers in the late afternoon, as it cools down in the evening and the outdoor breeze is quite nice.

There are two TVs in the home, both are smart TVs/set up with Cable channels that include live news and sports:

-one in the family room off the kitchen
-one in the downstairs room with the two queen beds

The whole house has great Wifi coverage, with a mesh network set up to cast a signal throughout all of the property.

**We have been living in the home with our young child, and we've had a lot of things somewhat baby-proofed for her age. Guests with small children, please take note of pool access points.

If you book the home during Halloween or the Holidays, we will be decorating. :)

Guest access
There are four parking spots; two in the garage, and two in the driveway. When you book, we will be asking on our check-in form how many cars to expect.

Other things to note
This is a luxury multi-family rental. We cater to out-of-market guests who have a prior 5-star rental history. We are in a residential neighborhood, and this is our family home. We really like our neighbors, and we want you to get along with them, too. We appreciate your respecting our home and our belongings when you're our guests, and we will bend over backward to give you the 5-star experience you expect when you select our listing.

The main rental guest *must* be at least 30 years old. That main rental guest *must* sign the waivers which have been pasted into the house rules.

Each pet guest must be pre-approved and is welcome to stay for a per pet per stay fee of $100. There is a max of two pets per booking, and each pet requires a separate pet waiver.

We also require that any pet guest be on current flea and tick treatment and request the last treatment date, so please treat your pet at the time of booking.
