During your stay at our apartment you will have full and private access to the entire apartment on the third floor. You will not have access to other common areas of the apartment building. Due to previous guests not following instructions we have restricted access to the back patio. You can only use the back door as an exit or entrance. You may not loiter on the back patio. None of the chairs or other items on the patio are ours so you would be disrupting our neighbors and using their property without permission. No smoking in the unit also applies to the back patio as well. Check-in any time after 3 pm and as late as 11 pm, check-out at or before 11 am.

We strive to make your stay with us as great as possible and in order to ensure that we exceed your expectations we have some rules that will make sure your visit goes smoothly.

-Do not use our towels to remove makeup or anything else that will stain them. If our towels are permanently stained we will charge a fee to replace them.

-Take care of our space and the items within it. When you arrive, we ask that you REMOVE YOUR SHOES before entering the apartment to avoid damaging the floors, rugs or carpet. We will charge you a $150 fee for professional cleaning if we notice any damage is done to the rugs or carpet. During your stay treat our home as if it’s your own, do not damage anything within the unit. Do not leave food out without proper containment because it will attract insects. If any damage has been done to anything in the apartment we will charge a minimum $300 fee to replace/fix what has been broken. Prior to your departure, do your best to tidy up by throwing garbage in the waste bin, washing any kitchenware (cups, plates, pots, pans, silverware) that you used, placing towels in the hamper, and leave the room in overall good shape to make the cleaning process more efficient. If an excessive mess is left after your stay which requires us to spend extra time cleaning it we will have to charge an additional cleaning fee ($50/hour or more).

-Keep track of your keys please. Losing the keys that you will be provided could cause a host of issues and potentially put a damper on your trip. Please do your best to know where they are at all times. If keys are lost or not returned to the lockbox we will unfortunately have to charge a $300 dollar fee to cover the cost of changing locks and having new keys made.

-No partying. We have strict rules against partying in our apartment and having guests that are unaccounted for when making the reservation. We do not accept reservations for people intending to host bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties, or any other kind of party. If there is any evidence of smoking in or around the apartment, illicit drug use, excessively loud noise after 10 PM, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation immediately without refund. We have a very good relationship with our neighbors and intend to keep it that way which means noise levels must be controlled so they are not disturbed. They will notify me if there is any evidence of these activities occurring during your stay. If we find any evidence of smoking in the apartment we will assess a minimum $300 fee to restore the apartment to its previously smoke-free condition.

-No pets allowed. A fee will be assessed if any pets are allowed into the unit, and will also result in an immediate cancelation of your booking without refund.

-Parking. There is free street parking throughout the residential neighborhood however you can access the whole city through the CTA train nearby so we would definitely recommend saving the money you'd spend on a rental vehicle if you have the option!

-There is no thermostat in the apartment, the heat is controlled by the building. It can get very hot at times.

We were able utilize the kitchen for meals, and the apartment was big enough for everyone to have their own space. Like a previous guest, we had a little trouble initially getting into the apartment building, but the owner was quick to reply with a solution and we had no issues after the first day. Thank you!"

- "We loved staying here! Would 100% stay again.Really clean and comfortable! Loved the mattress. Easy check in and out. Close to great businesses for dining or shopping. Close to the Brown line and a few buses for all our transit needs. Air-conditioned, thank god! There were all the amenities you expect like pots and pans, soap and shampoo in the shower, and even an iron and ironing board! We felt a lot like locals for our short 5 day stay!Basically perfect except for some small issues. The biggest issue was that host didn't respond to my texts when I had questions. A much smaller problem was that the speakers were blown out on the TV so it made a buzzing sound, we didn't really want to watch TV so whatever, but you might. The toilet tank refills kinda slow and you have to hold the flusher for a few seconds to make it flush right, tiny problem, but it would have been cool to have a note before I got scared I broke it. Last and definitely least there was precisely 1 cockroach on our last day (out of 5) and we had been exceedingly tidy. I mostly mention it because it surprised me in the shower and that was unpleasant."

I reached out, the communication was quick and helpful and led to what would be the first of dozens of trips to the basement to reset the breaker. Over the course of my stay I had to reach out numerous times and explain that everything in the apartment was off and with nothing but my phone plugged in, the breaker was still tripping. I was met with courteous responses but no change or support from the building's super. I tried to be understanding but if I had known the situation wouldn't be improved I would've reached out to VRBO and asked about canceling/moving or something. The final message/follow-up from the host about escalating things with the building was never followed-up on and nothing was addressed. The next message I rec'd was a reminder of how to check-out and a thank you for my stay. I was in Chicago for work, meeting new potential clients for potentially future work opportunities and I could rest or sleep."

The space
*There is free street parking on Eastwood Ave on a first come first serve basis. We do not have a designated parking space. Please be sure to read all the street signs, tow zones, before parking to avoid tickets and tows.*

During your stay at our apartment you will have full and private access to the entire apartment located on the 1st floor (Apt 1 East). You will have access to the laundry room located in the basement. You will not have access to other common areas of the apartment building. Due to previous guests not following instructions we have restricted access to the back patio. You can only use the back door as an exit or entrance. You may not loiter on the back patio. None of the chairs or other items on the patio are ours so you would be disrupting our neighbors and using their property without permission. No smoking in the unit also applies to the back patio as well. Check-in any time after 3 pm and as late as 11 pm, check-out at or before 11 am.

Also, very chilly Friday morning, would have liked to be able to turn up the heat since it was in the 20’s outside. We did get a quick response from a manager and managed to get in. The apartment was not very clean. There were cobwebs, small spiders and dirty floors. The overhead bedroom light was out and there were no light bulbs. The shower curtain was moldy and the window sill in the shower was rotten. We also had to clean the toilet before it could be used. It really would not take much to make this appear as it was represented in the online photo. We will not stay here again."
