The private room has a pass code lock on the door and is small but more than efficient.

40" TV with almost all of the cable channels (including premium), OnDemand, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Chromecast (for mirroring your personal device). Decorated with students or business travelers in mind but nice and comfortable for anyone! Full size memory foam mattress; Blackout curtains; desk with extremely comfortable office chair; full length mirrors, and storage space (shelving, drawers on bed, and closet). This room also has a mini-fridge with freezer for guests.

Room is steps away from the bathroom, which is mainly only used by one other person (who is rarely home). Access is limited to first-floor common areas and reasonable access to laundry is available for guests after staying 8 days. Guests must see host(s) before using laundry and are responsible for their own laundry supplies.

THE PARK AVE. BUILDING: You will love our charming apartments in this classic Mid-Century apartment building. The building is located on Park Ave. (1534) in historic River Forest.

The building has 6 units. All the units have been updated and renovated. In this building we have five 2-bedroom/1bath units and one 1-bedroom/1 bath units. The building is a three level building with 2 units at the garden (lower) level, 2 units on the first (middle) level and 2 units on the 2nd (top) level. Each unit has one dedicated parking space. We provide long-term accommodation for students doing internship rotation, and working on PhD and masters degrees. We also accommodate an occasional professional who is relocating. We provide long-term accommodation With new bedding, new pillows and a quiet, clean scholarly environment in a upscale location where you are safe to walk tonight and day.

Common areas are maintained on a daily basis however, everyone is expected to clean up after themselves when using common areas, kitchens and restrooms.

We are 1 mile from Rush and Loyola Medical Center. We are 10 minute walk to downtown Oak Park River Forest. We are one block from downtown Forest Park and we would be happy to show you around the area and help you get your boundaries.

We live in the top unit and are as available as you need. That being said, we very much respect your privacy and will not be checking in with you in person unless you request it.

It is located in the Madison district, with acclaimed restaurants, pubs, and unique boutiques. Downtown Chicago is a 25-minute train ride away. The local brewery across the street offers delicious beers and creative meals for the whole family.

We have a parking pad located behind our building. You can fit two cars on your side of the parking pad if they are parked in tandem. Some street parking is also available.
We are located .4 miles from the CTA Blue Line train - Forest Park Stop. It is about a 6 - 10 minute walk from the flat.
You can also take an Uber/Lyft into the city. It is about a 15 - 25 minute ride and it costs between $15 and $25.
We are located about one mile from the Metra Station (Union Pacific West) and CTA Green Line - Oak Park Stop.

Third bed is a queen sleeper sofa. We provide sheets and blankets for the sleeper sofa. You can smoke in the backyard. An ashtray is provided.

Monroe House is a recently remodeled 2 flat that was originally built over 100 years ago. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood it is only blocks from great coffee, restaurants & shops. It is perfect for solo & business travelers, families, couples. The unit includes 2 bedrooms with queen memory foam mattresses, full bath with tub/shower, kitchen with table for 4 ethernet connection & living room that has a Smart TV that has many apps where you can sign into your account including Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu & Apple TV. A fast & reliable wireless network is provided. The sofa, while available for spill over sleeping, is not appropriate for a 5th adult. This is a Rouse House property.

KITCHEN

Recently remodeled, with stainless steel appliances & an eat in table for 4. Every effort has been made to provide plates, silverware, glass ware, basic cooking pans & utensils. There is also a toaster & tea kettle. Salt, pepper, some basic spices & oil are provided. The refrigerator has filtered water & ice. The stovetop / oven is gas. There is a microwave & dishwasher. Dishwasher soap is provided. The coffee maker, ground coffee, sugar options are provided. There are also some snacks!

DINING

There is a table for 4 in the kitchen.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN

I highly recommend you bring baby gates if you have mobile infants or toddlers. I have a Pack n Play & a high chair available upon request. The fenced backyard is suitable for supervised children. We recommend bringing your stroller & enjoying a pretty walk thru the tree lined neighborhood or maybe up to Brown Cow for some ice cream. There is also a playground 3 blocks east of the home. PETS

Monroe House is dog pet friendly only in the 1st floor unit. There is a $100 charge PER pet, per stay to cover the additional cleaning required upon your departure. A pet bowl, bed & furniture covers are available. Pets can relax on the furniture IF it is protected by a cover. Pets are NOT allowed on any bed, including the pull out sofa beds. Evidence of pets in the bed linens will result in an additional extra cleaning charge. All pets must be current with all vaccines & be flea/tick free. Village ordinance requires all pet waste to be picked up immediately. There is a back yard courtyard, but at this time, we ask that you do not allow your pet to use it as their bathroom. At this time, cats & other animals are not considered. For longer than 14 day stays, an additional cleaning will be required as well as check out cleaning. I will discuss on guest by guest basis, depending on size & number of pets.

EXTRAS

I provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, makeup remover towelettes, cotton swabs. Please use the black wash cloths marked "makeup" for washing off faces. There are extra towels provided. There is 1 extra set of sheets in each bedroom should you need them. Dishwasher & dishwashing soap, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray, garbage bags, paper towel & laundry soap is also provided.

PARKING

There is 1 parking space available on the north side of the home off the public alley. Additional parking needs may be available & should be discussed with me.

Smartlock located on front door with code. You will have full access to entire 2 bedroom / 1 bath unit on the 1st floor of building. The fenced backyard is shared with the 2nd floor unit however there are 2 different areas for guests to relax. The BBQ grill is shared with 2nd floor unit.

Minimum age of guest renting is 25. Photo ID is required to verify. Renting guest is required to be occupant during entire reserved length of stay.

Additional guests over 5 guests have to be approved by HOST.

I require a vacation rental contract to be signed online. It will be emailed after booking & needs to be signed within 48 hours of booking & prior to arrival.

Backyard courtyard: at this time, we are renovating the courtyard. There is some seating & a BBQ grill available. There are no parties or excessive noise allowed. Lights out in the courtyard is 10:00pm. Monroe House is in a quiet residential neighborhood & you are absolutely expected to respect the residents who live here.

NO smoking, vaping, marijuana or cigars are allowed anywhere in or around home & property. If you or other guest smokes, do NOT BOOK.

Access to pool is 5 feet away through sliding doors that are secure at night. The bathroom has double Kohler vanities, a custom Kohler shower and a full washer dryer. We offer suntan lotion, detergent, toiletries and more. The private kitchen is just 500 feet away. It's fully stocked with coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher tea and other treats as well as silverware. This is the dream destination for those seeking some fun in the sun in the Midwest! No pool parties, please.

The pool house is located on the same property as the main house. It is completely private. We try to schedule our guests so the pool is not shared but sometimes there is overlap with the host. But it is rare. This is a greta Fall property as well. It includes three fire pits, a heated pool that runs through October and an awesome outdoor BBQ. No Pool parties, please.
