FYI: Our property is four houses over from William Faulkner's historic home where you will find Bailey Woods Trail.
A National Recreation Trail, Bailey Woods Trail links Rowan Oak, William Faulkner’s historic home, to the University Museum. Stretching approximately 3,000 feet, the trail takes about 20 minutes to walk, and bikes are not permitted on the trail. Bailey Woods is a heavily wooded area that William Faulkner was known to walk through. The trail was officially opened in 2008 and is a popular spot for hikers, UM classes, families and pets. The trail is incorporated into educational programming at the Museum in order to get children and visitors outside and active.

The apartment is approximately 700 sq feet. It contains a private bedroom with a queen size bed and full bathroom. The main living area, kitchen, and dining areas are in one big room.

- Balance of payment is due 60 days prior to the arrival date.
- Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM – We do not allow early arrivals as we are busy cleaning and sanitizing the property for your stay. Should we finish early, we will automatically notify you.

Come enjoy a stay in an older private home in the country, west of Oxford. A private bedroom with a double bed, as well as a private bath are located in a separate wing from the main house. Exterior has a wrap- around porch with seating and a swing to enjoy. Location is about 6.5 miles from campus. Adults over 25 years only.

The space
Located in 40+ acres of pasture land, the original home was built in 1935 and is a good example of Mississippi Craftsman style. Updates have been made to the original structure, including the bathroom, which was remodeled in 1999 and features a cast iron tub with shower. The original house was added on to in 2010, which is where the owner resides. The area around the house has been fenced in, including the parking area in front.

The owner will be available at any time during your stay to assist you in any way they can.

“The Little Loft in the Trees” is the perfect little cabin for a quiet weekend, couples get away or for a small family or even a hunting weekend. The cabin has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, smart TV and a collection of DVD’s.
You also have access to an outdoor grill and fire pit that is shared with the other cabin on the property. If there are renters we just ask that everyone be respectful of each other and share. If you want rent both cabins search the listing “Two Little Cabins in the Trees.”

As you enter the driveway there is parking to the left, which is ideal for boats, HOWEVER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO PARK UP THE HILL YOU ARE WELCOME TO PARK THERE. WE HAVE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES AND A REAR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS GETTING UP THE DRIVEWAY. IT IS A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY. There is also parking at the top of the hill behind the cabins. We just ask that if there are renters in the other cabin please be respectful and park in a manor that allows everyone the ability to move their vehicles freely about.
Each cabin has their own private entrance with a keypad lock. If you are renting both cabins at the same time your keypad code will be the same for both cabins.

We’ve stayed in these cabins ourselves while we were renovating them and our family had a wonderful time together! We were able to get away, but not to far away, and enjoy each other’s company. We created memories playing cards, eating meals and late night conversations around the table. We hope our guest are able make great memories here too.

And access to the outdoor grill and fire pit, we just ask that if there is someone else renting the cabin next door please be considerate and share. Guests agree to provide credit card information for a $750 security deposit hold. This hold will be released upon your departure f there is no damage beyond normal use and the house rules were respected.
