Welcome to Doma Napoli – a historic gem in the heart of Little Italy! This 900 sq ft unit offers everything you need for a great stay, including one assigned parking spot, mini-split AC, a full kitchen, 2 TVs, washer/dryer, and more. This unit is located on the first floor of a two-story home and even comes with a pool table for you to enjoy. It's right in the heart of Little Italy, just a block away from Piazza della Famiglia—a charming European-style plaza with cobblestone streets, string lights, and a beautiful fountain that gives it an old-world, romantic vibe. There's plenty of seating where you can relax and enjoy food from the nearby food hall or one of the many surrounding cafés and restaurants.

Just one block away, India Street offers tons of dining options, especially classic Italian spots that serve up delicious, authentic dishes. Welcome to your secret hideaway in San Diego! The Frida House has a private entrance so you can easily come and go and is located in quiet, family-oriented neighborhood in the Sherman Heights historic district just a few blocks from downtown San Diego.

The Frida House is just minutes away from the convention center, Petco Park, the Gaslamp District, the Coronado bridge, Balboa Park, and the San Diego Zoo.

The space
Our little cottage is just around the corner from all the best parts of downtown San Diego and Balboa Park. We're also just a few minutes from the San Diego Zoo and Coronado Island so you'll have plenty to do while you're here.

Or you can stay home and enjoy our quiet neighborhood with the afternoon sea breezes and pleasant patio. There are a couple great coffeeshops and restaurants a few blocks away or you can do a San Diego classic with the amazing fish tacos from the five star neighborhood taco truck one block over.

The Frida House is ideal for two, but can easily be set up to sleep three (or four in a pinch).

After all, we have very good reviews, but we are not a full-service hotel. In fact, the least expensive motel in San Diego County is Motel 6 for approx. $86 per night and is located near the US/Mexico border in San Ysidro (30 minutes away). Our apartment is far better than a basic motel room as it is located very close to downtown, refrigerator, microwave oven and much more! Additionally, we take cleanliness very serious and provide a clean apartment for our guests. We DO NOT have all the bells and whistles of hotel such as 24 hour staff, pool, vending machines, etc.

Second, to finalize and fully confirm your reservation, you must confirm having read and agreeing to the "KNOW BEFORE YOU GO" document.

Further, like most of California, this neighborhood is culturally diverse (including some homeless people nearby) and if that makes you uneasy, perhaps this isn't a good fit for you. However, if you do choose to make a reservation here, PLEASE DO NOT later leave less than 5-stars review of the location due to the homeless people. Our apartment is reasonably priced for San Diego standards and based on location. For example, most downtown hotels are easily priced at $150+ per night (more on special event dates) for a basic room without outdoor space, laundry machines, etc. So, we hope you'll keep all of that in mind when you do your review following your stay.

Also, it's worth noting that this particular apartment is located on the first floor (a few stairs to go up to building though), has one shared common wall to next unit, has lots of natural light and four windows for cool bay breezes and ceiling fan to keep cool (see notes about Air Conditioning/extra fee).

The apartment has recently been updated and repainted. The space includes a bar that functions both for eating and work-space. Just below the bar is an outlet for your laptop and two USB charging ports for mobile devices (bring your cords though). Currently, this apartment does not have a TV.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

This is apartment is in a vintage (over 100 years old) apartment building. Although vintage, the systems have long ago been updated and there's plenty of hot water. Apartment is suitable for up to two adults sleeping in same bed. Sorry, no pets allowed. Apartment includes k-cup coffee maker, tea pot, and small refrigerator. Guests can eat or work at the bar (free WiFi). Please remember, guests are expected to wash their own dishes before checkout.

Bathroom has towels, wash cloths, hair dryer, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and lotion. Entire building is nonsmoking/non-vaping of any products. All guest are expected to be courteous to long-term residents, including respecting quiet time (10:00pm - 7:30am); please consider taking-off your shoes when entering to reduce noise transfer.

WHY A SECURITY DEPOSITS:

Many AirBnB hosts require a security deposit in the event guests damage the property, damage the furnishings or steal the furnishings. The security deposit is similar to when a guest checks-in to a hotel. Hotels usually place a hold on a guest's credit card in case of damage to the room, theft or incidentals. Fortunately, we have not had any of these bad experiences, but deposits help assure such! AirBnB handles the security deposit and all payments, so rest assured that a third party is involved.

CLEANING FEE:

While this building tends to be very quiet (we expect all guests to comply with quiet hours) and most residents close the door slowly, the door makes a small amount of noise when it opens and closes. There is a queen and full bed as well as a pullout sofa bed (W/twin mattress & newly added foam mattress toper). Home is about 700sq ft. of comfortable space. This home includes top of the line stainless steel appliances. Tile flooring throughout, mirrored closets, Iron board , Iron, starch and sewing kit if you are in a bind. Kitchen is equipped with Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and toaster along with essential cookware. Fully stocked kitchen to cook for a weekend or a month. Portable heaters and fans as well as ceiling fans. Is this a work/study stay in Downtown? There is a dedicated workspace for Laptop with essential office supplies. Patio is free to use at your convenience. Note: it is a passage way to the tenant to other house inside the property.

Welcome to your urban cottage just steps away from downtown San Diego! The Queen Anne Cottage combines brand-new renovations with historic charm. The Cottage has a private entrance so you can easily come and go and is located in quiet, family-oriented neighborhood in the Sherman Heights historic district just a few blocks from downtown San Diego. It is minutes away from the Convention Center, Petco Park, the Gaslamp District, the Coronado bridge, Balboa Park, and the San Diego Zoo.

The space
The Cottage is part of a larger Queen Anne style craftsman/historic home that is newly renovated. You have a separate entrance, private patio and use of the entire space. It is a small studio, but has all you need for a comfortable stay in a location that gives easy, walkable access to everything downtown (Petco park, Gaslamp, Convention Center, etc). Balboa park, the San Diego Zoo and Coronado Bridge are about one mile away. The unit includes a smart TV, Air Conditioning/Heating, Wifi, mini-fridge/freezer, microwave, Keurig Coffee Maker (coffee provided) and basic utensils.

You have full access to the private patio and entire unit. While there is no shared space, the cottage is attached on one wall to the larger home our family lives in. As such, you may hear us between 8am and 10pm.
