The immediate neighborhood is not fancy but seemed safe. A $15 Uber/Lyft ride to downtown, slightly more from/to O’Hare. For us, making a short overnight stay en route to connecting with Chicago friends and rental car travel to a neighboring state, this was an excellent value, and an enjoyable guesthouse experience!"

As you enter, you will be blown away by the soaring 9-10' ceilings and open & airy layout. Spacious master bedroom with queen bed, dressers and walk-in closet. Second bedroom contains two twin beds.

Living room features a futon style couch for extra sleeping capacity. Five people can be accommodated in the apartment. The heart of the apartment is the vast living room/dining room area. THE SPACE:
The apartment is located in a newly remodeled traditional Chicago multi-flats building from the early 1900. It sits in an urban neighborhood and as an older building some noise transmission from the street and between units is inevitable, similar to what may naturally occur in any apartment building.

Please note that the private parking behind the building is shared between three units and is on First Come First Serve basis. It can hold up to 4 cars stacked 2 by 2, which means that in order not to block guests from other units by parking behind them, only two units can potentially park at the same time. If your party is traveling with multiple cars, please park one behind another as a courtesy to other guests. Free street parking is also available.

We are two blocks from the Green Line, with access to downtown Chicago in 30 minutes. There is a grocery store, Pete's Fresh Market just slightly over a half a mile walk from our house.

We currently have one dog and one cat inside the house, and some mini goats outside.

Our home offers many opportunities to interact with both people and animals. Because our home has such a high amount of traffic, the common areas will have that "lived in" atmosphere, more typical of a hostel than a hotel.

Please note that the basement unit is connected to the first-floor unit via a staircase located inside the entrance of the main home. We kindly ask that guests be mindful when entering the building, especially when the owners are home. The owners will not enter the basement during your stay unless assistance is requested.

Please also note we have a friendly French bulldog living in the first floor unit. She won't get in the way unless you want to say hi! Guests also have full access to the gated backyard, which is perfect for dogs to run and play freely—we just ask that you clean up after your pets.
