Hello Travelers! All are welcome to stay in our guest home in lovely Pacific Palisades, nestled between Malibu and Santa Monica. Our home is a five minute walk from hiking trails leading to the Santa Monica Mountains, a 10 minute walk to the Palisades Village and a 15 minute walk to the beach! Stay and enjoy the California Life!

Guests will have full privacy as they relax in this peaceful space. There is a driveway with both pathway and stairs that leads from the street to the back guest home. The guest home can comfortably accommodate up to Three guests -- 1 queen sized bed (sleeps two) and 1 leather sofa (sleeps one). The bathroom has a stand-up shower, toilet, and sink, along with complimentary shampoo/conditioner, towels, and other accessories with one step to get into bathroom, and another step to access the toilet. The kitchen space has granite and porcelain countertops with island space for work or eating, as well as an electric cooktop with hood vent, stainless steel appliances (toaster oven, kettle, coffee pot, mini-fridge, etc.), and table ware. In addition, the space includes cabinet space, dressers for clothing, USB charging stations, a wall-mounted 4K HDR flat screen TV (DirecTV Satellite, Roku, Amazon FireStick, etc.), and Wi-Fi.

Ample free parking is available on the street. Please do not block driveways. Bus stop just around the corner that can get you all over LA.

We expect all guests to keep the shared spaces clean and tidy. Guests will be able to lock the home to ensure privacy and safety. This space is not suitable for infants and small children. Also, there is a small dog on the premises. The backyard and patio are shared spaces. Absolutely no smoking on the premises.

Please note per LA home sharing ordinance, our guesthouse is for maximum 2 adults and any other guest must be under 18 years old. This guest can sleep in our very comfortable leather couch.

If guests need to borrow anything (power converters, toiletries that were forgotten at home, etc.) please feel free ask, and we may be able to supply you with what you need.

To ensure proper cleaning and preparation of the guesthouse for the next reservation, we have a strict check-out time. Any guest that has not checked out by 11 am PST is subject to a $20 late check-out fee.

For safety and security there are external security cameras around the property, never facing the guesthouse.

We know that everyone is concerned about safety these days, so we personally cleaned and sanitized the rooms. We keep a pretty tight safety protocol because we visit my elderly parents and our grandchildren regularly. So, our guests don't see much of us during their stay, but they are always free to text us with questions and needs. .
Our guests are given all of the privacy they desire. We will be in the house during their stay to respond to any needs, but we wish our guests a delightfully private experience of the canyon and we enjoy our privacy too! An especially designed guestbook will provide wireless internet access codes, as well as maps and details about local attractions, beaches, restaurants, clubs, art galleries and museums.

The Neighborhood

Our home is situated on five acres so our nearest neighbor is acres away! There are no street lights in Topanga so the nights are filled with the stars, the rising and setting moon. Topanga is well known for its quiet and tranquil beauty. A perfect getaway for city dwellers that need a break!

Getting Around

Guests will need to rent a car to get around our private paradise, but we will provide excellent maps and listings of local attractions, beaches, restaurants, entertainment, and art galleries and museums.

Everything was as described, beautiful room, comfy beds etc. the rooms were very clean, lovely windows and sliders for fresh air. My husband needed to work a bit & there was a desk in one of the rooms and he also worked on the patio, wifi was fantastic! The highlight for us was the private outdoor space that overlooked the canyon. We loved having our coffee on the patio ( which was provided every morning & delicious) and spending our evenings sipping a glass of wine . This incredible two story cabin in the heart of Topanga is for nature lovers. It has a lovely outside covered deck which feels like you are floating in an oak forest. DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your party will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.

Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

You can hike, mountain bike, do horseback riding or sit at a outside fire in the evening. The landscape is amazing and you will not believe that this is part of Los Angeles. We drive to work every day to Santa Monica, driving along the beaches on the PCH the famous Pacific Coast Highway passing the ocean, seeing dolphins & seals and fish hunting pelicans.

TOPANGA - the place of the people - is an amazing place to be in this world. This little bohemian town is nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains and was muse to many famous artists and musician and writers ( some still living here ). Elysium fields and Rodeo grounds were in a less than a 3 mile radius from here.

Space:
The guesthouse is like a Studio apartment (this is part of our house , but there are no joining walls to any living areas )and accommodates 2 comfortably.The guesthouse is located on the lower level of our property and has its one entrance from the driveway via a ' grand staircase' ( 10 wide long steps) to the lower yard. It is partly located under the end of on of our decks in the main house. It is one room with a huge California King bed ( Organic futon & bedding), it has a kitchenette with refridgerator, 4 burner stove top, Microwave with integrated oven. Table and chairs inside and outside. The bathroom is small but a has a beautiful pebble shower with stones from the beach. There is lots of outdoors space as well.It is very private. If you travel with kids we could provide a baby-crib or a roll away.

Pets are ok as long as they are kids friendly.We do have 2 very friendly black Labradors in the main house.

Just 3.5 miles from the ocean. 20 minutes to Santa Monica. 20 min to Malibu, 20 - 30 min to the Studios.

The town itself has plenty of picturesque areas and is popular for weekend tourists. We have a few beautiful restaurants including the famous INN of the Seventh Ray, a french Bistro, a nice Mexican place,Rocco's Italian, Froggie's a bohemian american/ asian quinine as well as 2 wonderful coffee places.
Topanga is home to the Theatricum Botanicum (Will Gear) an open air Shakespeare Theatre with world class perfomance which attracts visitors from all over Los Angeles.
There is a Hippy Spirit about Topanga. In the 60 & 70 ties this was home to Elysium fields and famous Rodeo Grounds. Bohemian Lifestyle, Artist, Musicians.

There are beaches all along the PCH. When you drive down the hill you are right at Topanga State Beach, a popular Surf Spot with some beach restaurants perfect after a long day in the sun.
A little bit up the PCH you come to famous Malibu. Go to the amazing beaches, walk by the Celebrity Villas on the beach, surf, go shopping & spy out for some of those people you know from the movies, have a possibilities.
Beautiful & famous beaches, cliff trails, beach restaurants, whale watching spots in certain month of the year.
Hire a sailboat or take to ferry to Catalina Islands or go on a whale watching boat trip.

We've decorated in our vision of an authentic French apartment with some Topanga ambiance. Fringed lamps, king plush mattress + original bathroom door from the 1st settlers of this historic property. Additionally, there are lovely private trails & creeks to explore stunning canyon scenes. Public hikes + Topanga town 2 minutes away.

This charming cabin is decorated in French style. It features a comfortable king size bed, lovely decorative stone fireplace, beautiful antique work table and full bath featuring a clawfoot bathtub + separate shower. In the living space, there is an open plan vaulted ceiling living room with piano, fireplace and full kitchen with all amenities. The Historic 1914 Stone Cabin is a lovely mix of antique and modern, nestled in the mountains with surrounding lush woodlands, creeks, and nearby hiking trails.

There is a beautiful view of the canyon in the daytime and an abundance of stars at night. A fire is permitted ONLY in the LIVING ROOM - please bring your own supplies. **Please note that using the fireplace in the BEDROOM is NOT PERMITTED as it's not functional.

The unit is completely self contained and private but please note there are two other apartments surrounding the cabin which have their own private entrances and amenities.

We have a brand new wireless router with extremely fast WIFI at 150mb per sec. We also have a new, very reliable tankless hot water heater that never runs out of hot water for the bath/shower..

We provide all basic needs except toiletries.

You will be nestled in a 13 acre mountain village with other cottages, forests and mountain views. You’d never know you were anywhere near a city!

Visiting this property is a very unique experience, some describe it as “glamorous camping”. No extensive photo taking, NO PARTIES, NO LOUD MUSIC, quiet time after 9pm, Dogs are welcome for a $18 fee per pet, per night. Cats are not okay for their own safety and allergy restrictions. Dogs are not permitted to be left unattended during your stay. If it causes a disturbance, a $25 fine will be implemented. $40 fee for loud music or excessive noise.

DISCLAIMER: This is not a standalone cottage. This is a private home conjoined to other units all with their own private entrance. This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your party will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside, some dust or a spider web - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.

Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - WIFI - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

3. (Only from our house to PCH) Take Topanga Canyon Blvd south to Tuna Canyon Rd to PCH

Please note there are three separate buildings on this property that share a parking area (each with 2 reserved spots each). Each has its own private outdoor area--we welcome you to hike up the hill at the back of the property to access the hiking trails, but please respect the privacy of each unit's private outdoor space (which is clearly separated).

There is a shared washer dryer attached to the back side of the house.

The State Park access is right out the door up the hill, offering ideal access into endless trails, stunning views and a good chance of spotting California wildlife.
The property is right on Topanga Canyon Blvd, so it's easy to hop on the main drag, grab a coffee en route to the beach at Topanga Living Cafe, breakfast at Topanga Table, or enjoy a romantic dinner at the magical Inn of the Seventh Ray. Directly across the street is Topanga Creek Outpost, where you can rent bikes to go adventure. We are 10 minutes from the beach/PCH, 10 minutes from Woodland Hills/101 Fwy, 20 minutes from Santa Monica/Venice, 15 minutes to Malibu and 25 minutes from Studio City.

A car is recommended for getting around in the Topanga area.

There are 3 buildings on this property. The rental house is completely private and has its own private garden reserved parking, so you very much feel that the space is your own. We respect your space, however we are of course available to answer any questions or provide recommendations.

Family bookings: we have listed under the booking rules that we do not accept babies/children since we have some decor which is not well-suited for kids as well as a high-end white couch that could be stained. If you would still like to book, we are happy to welcome you, but please note that you will be fully responsible for any damaged/broken items or stained furniture, which may be quite pricey (and could exceed the deposit).
