In the mornings enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea as you walk out the door onto the sundeck overlooking the expansive private meadow before you finish breakfast and head off to explore for the day. And equally enjoyable when you return for a picturesque sunset dinner . The cabin is set up for three guests with a comfortable queen bed in the primary bedroom and an ultra thick twin size bed in the second bedroom. The full kitchen is well stocked with the majority of the cooking supplies and utensils you'll need to make quick meals on the go for your daily picnics or put together a leisurely dinner on the gas stove and oven. The full bathroom with shower and tub is designed to be compact but comfortable and well equipped. The front loading washer and dryer are well taken care of and located in the bathroom. All the BBQ utensils you'll need to enjoy the Gas Weber Grill are also provided. Hot and Cold sink near the BBQ for your convenience.

During your visit, please be sure and walk across the scenic meadow to take in the view of Scotty Point and the Pacific Ocean from the viewing terrace - a lovely place to have happy hour while watching the sunset in to the ocean. There is a deck box on the entry deck that has a few beach/lawn chairs and some toys for the kids for those beach trips or just to kick a ball about the meadow.

You can do some of these hikes by just walking out your door - especially the Dry Lagoon to Stone Lagoon one. - "Wow. This place was amazing. We loved our stay here. Our family of 4 stayed here as our home base while visiting the Redwood National and State Parks. It is secluded and surrounded by nature. It has most everything you could need or want and the hosts were so very kind and welcoming. They also have a binder filled with excellent information for you to view upon arrival . The exterior of the home is a little more faded than the photos, but the inside is exactly as pictured. We enjoyed viewing the wildlife in the area. We saw banana slugs, Roosevelt Elk in a nearby meadow, and a small female black bear in the back yard! We definitely recommend this place when staying in the area!"

It is snuggled into a mature redwood forest with a third of a mile of well groomed trails. Raven Ridge Retreat is located up a hill protecting it from the fog and wind of other beach side properties; this is a peaceful, private experience where the beauty of nature satisfies your craving for tranquility. Four benches have been placed along the trails to relax and to enjoy the exceptional creek and forest views. Around the front yard there is plenty of sun exposure. Quiet, except for the occasional sound of seals in the distance, and songs of chickadees, winter wrens and Douglas squirrels; this is truly a retreat. This wood-sided home has an outside hot tub on a private deck adjacent to the upstairs bedroom. The spacious front patio has a fire pit for those who want to spend their evenings outdoors. There is a ping-pong table in the garage. For the lawn there are croquet and bocce ball.

Inside, granite countertops and a cooktop stove are centrally located for gabbing with each other over cocktails. The wet bar is where those cocktails originate; the cabinets are all custom made. All the proper amenities are here, whether you are planning a lavish dinner or want casual dining on the patio. There is a king sized bed in upstairs main bedroom and a walk in shower with his and hers sinks and showers. A set of twin trundle (day) beds in downstairs bedroom (can be made into a queen bed), and a fold-out couch/futon with a comfy mattress is in the upstairs loft. The 2nd bathroom is also located downstairs on the main level. The living room offers a t.v. with basic cable. Two ponds full of goldfish, water lilies and a pump-powered waterfall between them are a perfect place to have lunch and a chance to glimpse a threatened species, the red-legged frog or Pacific giant salamander. The large lawn is perfect for bocce ball or croquet. The backyard is a lush shade garden, full of ferns, Japanese variegated grass and more rhododendrons and Japanese maples. From there, the forest drops off towards McConnahas Mill Creek. This is the home that you will long to return to year after year.

Welcome to The Wind and Tide where forest meets sea. Our newly remodeled home is situated on three acres of forested cliffside overlooking the Pacific, just north of the seaside village of Trinidad. Tranquility awaits as you take a dip in the hot tub and relax by the fire pit, soaking up the sounds of sea lions, the views of migrating whales, and sunsets and stargazing galore. Tide-pooling, agate hunting, and exploring Sue-Meg State Park is just a short drive down the road.

Our home was built with views in mind – the open living room, dining room, and kitchen are designed to feature breathtaking seascapes at every turn.
The view from the dining room’s built-in window seat is perfect for curling up with a book or fueling up with breakfast before a day of adventure.
The views continue from the downstairs queen bedroom, complete with a desk and closet, and the upstairs loft with two queens and a nook perfect for reading or playing games – an assortment of books and board games are stocked for your use.
You’ll sleep soundly in the comfort of new Casper mattresses with the sounds of waves crashing from below.
The Wind and Tide has one full bathroom with plush towels and a washer and dryer available for your use at any time during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with a new glass stove-top, dishwasher, and fridge; it’s stocked with all the cooking utensils and kitchen tools you’ll need. Complimentary coffee and tea are provided for you, with a drip coffee machine and a French press, too. The dining room seats six and features a lovely old growth redwood table restored from the original home.
We’ve added a few more creature comforts to make you feel at home, including a remote-controlled gas fireplace, a flat screen TV (with Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+), and high-speed internet throughout the house. There’s a telescope for scouting sea stacks, watching for whales, and checking out the Milky Way if our famous Humboldt fog cooperates.
Outside is a Traeger barbeque under a covered awning and an eight-foot redwood picnic table to dine al fresco – outdoor dining with spectacular views doesn’t get any better than this!
After a day of exploring the north coast, you can unwind around the outdoor gas fire pit or take a swim in the hot tub while you soak in the beauty of all that surrounds.

You can adventure on-site, too, by taking a hike down our private beach trail to explore tide pools and hunt for agates. Please note: this is a rustic, rugged, and strenuous trail requiring shoes and the stamina to make it up and down the steep cliffside. Please use it at your own risk. For those guests ready for the challenge, it’s a beautiful hike down to a serene and private beach. Like much of our rugged coast, there is no swimming on this beach, but the views are magnificent - be sure to keep an eye out for agates on the shore and sea lions in the distance.

Note- We are currently having issues with our indoor gas fire place and waiting for a part to arrive before it will work again. Thank you for your understanding and patience. The house is heated by central heat and this is more for looks than an actual heat source. *

Our home is located just a few minutes from Sue-Meg State Park. We are located a short drive to all the beautiful beaches that Trinidad has to offer. A 20 minute drive to Ladybird Johnson Grove, one of the most incredible redwood forests in the world. A 5 minute drive to the town of Trinidad, where there is multiple restaurants, a supermarket, gas station and multiple shops to explore. Trinidad is known for its sea kayaking, whale watching, fishing, surfing, good eats and breath taking hikes along our beautiful coast line.

The Wind and Tide is located 15 minutes from the Arcata-Eureka/Humboldt County Airport. Getting around in rural Humboldt is easiest with a vehicle. Humboldt is renowned for natural forest, river, and ocean spaces, offering a multitude of hiking and outdoor sport activities. Humboldt also offers a plentiful dining scene with coastal cuisine and locally grown fare peppered throughout the county.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Sue-Meg State Park – located just minutes away from the house, with forest and ocean vistas, hiking, and native-run interpretive trails featuring a traditional Yurok village dwelling. Wedding Rock and Agate Beach are popular stops at this park.
Redwood National and State Parks/Prairie Creek State Park – located 25 minutes north of the house lie stunning and ancient redwood giants. Famed Fern Canyon and Gold Bluffs Beach (advance permit required through the Parks Service) are sought-after destinations from travelers all over the world. Visit the big named trees – like Corkscrew Tree and Big Tree – as you walk among the old growth. Ladybird Johnson and Redwood Creek trails are great for beginners.
Trees of Mystery – located 45 minutes north in Klamath, just past the Humboldt County line, is a favorite spot for kids on the north coast. An amusement park of sorts with giant redwoods, a native museum, treetop gondolas to ride in, and a skywalk to get up close and personal with the redwood canopy.
Avenue of the Giants – located 70 minutes to the south, is a world-famous stretch of highway winding along the Eel River with old growth redwoods throughout. This avenue is a tree-lover’s dream, boasting the world record for forested standing biomass, pristine cerulean swimming holes, and more trails than you could explore in a lifetime.
Larrupin’ and Moonstone Grill – Trinidad has two upscale dining options close to the house, both offering a unique taste of Humboldt’s vibe and local seasonal ingredients.
Moonstone Crossing – Trinidad’s local winery with daily tastings available.
Headie’s Pizza and Pour – a local spot to grab a slice of gourmet pizza and a beer before taking a walk through town for shopping and souvenirs or down to Trinidad State Beach to check out the lighthouse and the pier.
Lighthouse Grill – famous for their savory cornbread waffle cones with mashed potatoes and brisket, homemade ice-cream, and all-around delicious fare.
Murphy’s Market – Trinidad’s locally-owned grocery, convenient for stocking the fridge with everything you need to cook at your home away from home.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lukk Enn. The home was clean and ready for us, with lights on and even music when we arrived. It has all the amenities we needed. We were pleased to find that we were right in the middle of a redwood forest, even more so than I could see in the on-line photos. Comfortable seating both inside and outside for two to four people. The area is off the main roads so it is very quiet, but still close enough to highway 101 so that we could easily explore the area. We spent several great days at Redwood National Park, Sue-meg State Park, Trinidad State Beach and the cute town of Trinidad. Make sure to have dinner at the Larrupin’ Café – great mostly locally-sourced food. One note – use the driving directions the host will provide and do NOT use navigation apps – they will send you down an impassable road."

This street-level, private-entry large room with windows on two sides affords the guest views that can't be described. Out the front window, you overlook sparkling Trinidad Bay. Out the west windows you see the Pacific Ocean and can also watch amazing sunsets. Trinidad is a quaint village with art studios, gift shops, wonderful restaurants, and more. We are just a moments drive to see the redwoods.

A small room with a desk and a closet in a house on a 1-acre property in the redwoods. A sliding glass door provides a private entrance and a view of the garden and forest behind the house. There is a mini fridge, coffee and tea supplies and a shared bathroom in the hallway outside the room. There are two skylights and the curtains are not room darkening. You should either be a morning person or you might want to use an eye mask.

The space
We are in a redwood forest on a 1-acre lot. There is plenty of parking in the front, and the guests have access to most of the property including the rear deck, octaganal yoga deck, any fruits that are in season, the backyard grassy area, trail around the perimeter of the property, campfire pit, and a pond. It is usually very quiet here except for the occasional yard maintanence in the neighborhood.

Guests have access to the kitchen (if the stove is in use, there is another on the rear deck), the livingroom, and the yard. The yard includes the rear deck, the octagonal yoga deck, backyard grassy area, short trail, pond and campfire pit.

I enjoy interacting with guests, but don't require it. Eric lives in the yurt in the backyard. One of us will be available in case you need anything.

Guest access
The full upstairs studio, including bed, bathroom, kitchen and deck is for guests use. Apt is accessed from private entry door on the ground floor, with 15 stairs to go up to get to the private apartment. Starlink Wi-fi is available , No public transportation. Parking available next to the apt. Guests are also invited to walk down the adjacent sidewalk to hosts house and enjoy the deck at that house that has a great view of the ocean, Trinidad Head, and the dock at Trinidad.

Other things to note
Car rentals available at the airport if you fly in. Canoe rentals now available on Scenic Dr. at the shopping center.
Scenic Dr is narrow in some places. And sometimes has pot holes that the county hasn't fixed yet. Scenic Dr is about 3 miles long. About 2 miles of that is right above the ocean with about 5 trails
The long and bumpy driveway to our house is mostly dirt, and is subject to the weather. We drive it safely but carefully in a 2023 Toyoto Camry.
Trinidad is a small ocean town of about 300 people, with various good eating places, both snack and full menu, a fully stocked grocery store, museum, gift shops, fishing, casino, and of course, the redwoods are only 35 -40 minutes away. about 25 miles.

We have extensive gardens and the property entrance has a large hedge around the driveway. We have very few lights in our neighborhood so the stars are lovely. the studio has a small deck and patio that is private to the studio and parking is directly in front of the studio.

The access to the bathroom is tight so just a heads up. There is walking space around the whole bed but is tight.

This cozy cabana has recently been renovated. It is located on a beautiful 8 acre farm surrounded by redwoods, only 10 minutes from the seaside town of Trinidad, CA. Here you can explore restaurants, galleries, shops and more. Trinidad is about a half hour from the Prairie Creek Visitor Center of Redwood National Park.

The space
The cabana is surrounded by a large yard with a fire pit and a barbecue area, perfect for relaxing evenings. The inside of the cabana is compact, clean, and simple. The kitchen is small and fully equipped with a fantastic oven/range, mini fridge and all the basics needed for making for delicious meals. There is a comfortable double-size bed with lots of pillows and even a TV. The bathroom is located through a glass sliding door off the deck. It is a fully enclosed water closet with both a shower and toilet.

Guest access
The Garden of Eatin’ is a small farm full of veggies and fruits, including an orchard. It’s a sustainable system, garden to table. A lot of the food goes out into the community. It is also home to several farm animals including pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and cats.

There are 2 working dogs that live on the property to protect the farm and the pigs. They do bark.

The space
Treasure Cove truly is even more of a treasure now with new renovations inside and out. The style is modern but warm and boasts more windows for ocean views. Rinse off the sand with the outdoor shower then soak in the six person hot tub on the patio and watch sea life, fishing boats and all the ocean has to offer. Treasure Cove comfortably sleeps 6 and is great for a few couples or a family getaway. This custom, 1810 square foot, two story home located just a few houses away from downtown Trinidad has great ocean views and coastal access trails (Trail located directly in front of home leads to Trinidad Head & Beach). Relax by the fireplace and enjoy the large Smart T.V. Log on to Netflix and have fun watching your favorite shows and movies.

The three bedrooms plus two marble full bathrooms are located downstairs. Sleep to the sounds of the sea in the Main bedroom complete with slider to step out and enjoy the bay views, covered patio and hot tub. The Main bedroom has plenty of privacy w/ a King bed, T.V. and en-suite bathroom w/ shower. The 2nd bedroom also has a King bed, ocean views and direct patio access to the hot tub. This room also has a large flat-screen T.V. The third bedroom has a Queen bed. All bedrooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The second and 3rd bedroom share another beautifully marble tiled bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Upstairs is the living room, dining area, kitchen, and a conveniently located half bath. It has a very well equipped kitchen and brand new breakfast bar with everything a cook would need. The furnishings are modern, stylish and comfortable. The wood burning fireplace simply adds to the ambiance (complimentary wood supplied). You can also enjoy the upstairs expansive deck and grill on the propane barbecue while taking in the panoramic view of Trinidad Harbor.

We have provided FREE wireless internet, expanded cable T.V and a super fun finished garage complete with a ping-pong table, kids game area and bean bag chairs. Washer & dryer also located in the garage. This home is within easy walking distance of local beaches, pier, lighthouse, hiking trails, restaurants and Murphy’s Market.
