- "The town of Orick is a very old town but can’t beat the location to the redwoods. Plan on stopping at a larger town for food before getting to Orick. We cooked each night at the house. The house was amazing with a large kitchen and family room. Plenty of room for all to hang out without being on top of each other. The views are outstanding. - "The listing undersells this property! It feels larger and nicer in person. Views are amazing - not just the lagoon, ocean view too! The kids loved the cat that visited daily, the frogs in the pond, the mass of ripe blackberry bushes, and the banana slugs covering them in the mornings. Orick is a great central location for access to Prairie Creek State Park which has a ton of nice hikes for little kids, fern canyon, and also some National Park locations. It’s also a great spot for quick access to the nearby beach, or to head south to more epic beach landscapes or for dining options. We saw elk there everyday! The kitchen was nice to cook in, and the big primary bedroom worked great for a couple with very young kids to all be together. The ping pong and air hockey in the garage were also a big hit. We’d love to stay here again, highly recommend!"

Everything that you will need has been anticipated. Even my picky wife is satisfied. The house exterior, interior, and yard accessories are 10/10. If there is a down side, it would be the neighborhood. Then again, we are here for the trees, drives, and hikes. So that did not factor into our trip, thus did not matter much. Oh, the fact that we brought/bought our food to cook means we did not have rely on neighhood eatery. I highly recommend it. As the host's kitchen is beyond stocked with every utensil and spices. It would be a shame not to take advantage of it. The beds are well sized, clean, and of excellent medium firmness that would cure your weary sore backs from a hard day of hiking. The massive sized livingroom, kitchen, dinning room, and front porch made family relaxing a breeze. Each of us were able to find our own comfortable nitche hole to sit/lay down. The backyard is full of enjoyment: hot tube, steam room, BBQ, fire pit. Oh, the other downside is the internet. It is painfully slow and if you must rely on it for vital work, forget about it. It is not the fault of the host. The isolation nature of the place is what we were seeking, so bad internet is expected. So bring your books or HDD stocked with movies to enjoy. Host's DishTV gets excellent signal though. So there is that. Man, I can keep going. But I need to stop somewhere. Book it, you won't be disappointed."

We are tucked in the middle of the National Redwood Park & close to Fern Canyon and Prairie Creek Redwood State Park. We are 18 miles south of Trees of Mystery, 20 miles north of beautiful Trinidad with so many trails, beaches and lagoons in between. We are a great central point in all your adventures while exploring the beautiful North Coastal Redwoods while providing a cozy oasis to rest in between your adventures. Sometimes in our neck of the woods, we lose power. We now have a whole-house GENERATOR so your stay with us will not have much interruption.

- "A very welcoming, charming, and comfortable house close to Redwoods and the beach. We stayed here two nights and found it everything we'd hoped. It was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. We loved being a bit away from town. Very quiet. The elk are majestic and fun to watch. The kitchen is nicely outfitted, complete with coffee and a nice selection of spices to cook with. We loved having our breakfast at the table with a view of the meadow, elk, and trees. The game room in the garage has a nice selection of fun games - we liked the ax throwing. The location makes it a 2 minute drive to the beach for the sunset or to visit the Redwood visitor center. Heading in the other direction there are numerous hikes and Prairie Creek state park. We would definitely come back for another stay."

This cottage is one of three Cottages on our property and is stocked with all the amenities of home to provide a wonderful vacation in the middle of the Redwoods.

This cottage is on our 6 acre property tucked in the middle of the beautiful Redwoods with a Sauna on the back deck to relax in after all your exploring. This cottage has a large backyard with direct access to the creeks, fire pit, free firewood, & plenty of seating. The house has 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom (with Jacuzzi Tub), Living room, Dining Room, Full Kitchen, & Laundry Room. It sleeps up to 9 with a King, Queen, Full, Twin, & Queen Sofa Sleeper beds. Feel free to explore our property & enjoy the creeks that run through the back of the property where you can sometimes find the wildlife enjoying, as well.

You will have access to the whole house & back patio area. Feel free to walk around our 6 acre property & during the fall enjoy our wild berries that encircle our property. Don’t be surprised if you are visited by our Elk! We offer free WiFi for all your streaming, gaming, or conferencing needs.

Welcome to the Gateway of the Redwoods!

This historic home, situated in the middle of a picturesque Redwood Valley dividing Redwood National Park, Humboldt Lagoons State Park, Redwood Beach, and the small town of Orick, is a fun way to experience life on the farm for a small family or just the two of you.

Step through the front door and discover an open layout that includes a recently updated and well-equipped kitchenette, a dining table for four for meals, laptops, or family game nights, and a living area with a comfortable sofa, queen bed, full-size futon, full-size Murphy bed, and a large wall-mounted Roku TV for streaming your favorite channels. Thoughtful recent upgrades include refinished floors, custom woodwork, and bathroom updates, as well as fresh landscaping, flower and vegetable gardens, and exterior painting.

Additional amenities provided include a private washer/dryer and complimentary internet access.

THINGS TO KNOW
Well-stocked kitchenette with a small fridge, four-burner electric cooktop, microwave, convection oven, toaster, and dishwasher. Streaming TV services require guest accounts to access. Feel free to enjoy the veggies from the garden in the backyard when they are in season. Weather and carrier services can affect internet signals. A personal hotspot is recommended. The home is conveniently located off HWY 101, and the interior is well insulated, making the home feel like a sanctuary among the majestic Redwood Valley farms and ranches nearby. There is also a rooster on the property that crows in the morning.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Come relax in the heart of the Coastal Redwoods in one of our three newly remodeled Cottages that offers a beautiful, cozy retreat including exceptional clean standards. This cottage features 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, large living room,dining room, full kitchen, laundry room that sleeps 8. It is furnished with a King, Queen, & 4 Twins (2 Sets of Bunk Beds). We offer free WiFi for all your streaming, gaming, &/or conferencing needs.

This cottage is on our 6 acre property tucked in the middle of the beautiful Redwoods with a spacious backyard alongside Prairie Creek filled with all the amenities of home, perfect for relaxing after all your exploring. Feel free to explore our property & enjoy the creeks that run through the back of the property where you can sometimes find the wildlife enjoying, as well.

You will have access to the whole house, back yard & patio area with plenty of patio seating, Redwood picnic table, fire pit, and free firewood. During the fall enjoy our wild berries that encircle our property. Don’t be surprised if you are visited by our Elk!

We are tucked in the middle of the National Redwood Park & close to Fern Canyon, Gold Bluff Beach, Prairie Creek Redwood State Park. Please note: from May 15-September 15th, a day use permit is required for Fern Canyon. It is best to acquire this online prior to your arrival. We are 18 miles south of Trees of Mystery, 20 miles north of Trinidad with so many trails, beaches, & lagoons in-between. We are a great central point in all your adventures while exploring the beautiful North Coastal Redwoods while providing a cozy oasis to rest in-between your adventures.

Sometimes in our neck of the Redwoods, we lose power. Now we have a whole-house GENERATOR so your stay with us is not interrupted.
