I call my home The Nest. This is a prime location near shops, restaurants, DU, Safeway, and light-rail. You have a separate entrance to a fully remodeled basement apartment including 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, work-space, laundry room and kitchenette.
You have your choice between Marriott pillows, My Pillow pillows, and some temper-pedic pillows. (I take my pillows seriously!) There are 14 restaurants of all ethnicities within 400 yards, and a Starbucks only 100 yards away. Welcome to The Nest!
The space
This is a 1950's home that was fully and lovingly renovated just a couple years ago. I live in the upstairs level, and the garden level is all yours with a separate entrance -- even a separate custom-lit walkway from the street.
While I want to be here to greet you as you arrive, if I'm unable to there is a keypad entrance for easy access. The check-in hours are from 3pm to 8pm, but if you are here outside those hours, just contact me and we'll make it happen.
Guest access
You have a separate, private entrance with motion censored lights that light up your path at night. I will not enter your space during your stay here unless there is an emergency or at your invitation.
2 x bedrooms (The first bedroom has a queen bed, closet and dresser, the second bedroom has a queen bed and closet, and in the living room there is even a futon which can turn into a full-size bed (with two super cozy mattress toppers!)
This price is for 2 people but it will fit up to 6! (But that is cozy, I gotta tell you! I do ask for $10 per person extra for each person over the initial 2. Just let me know how many people and I'll give you a custom quote.
The kitchenette has a sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, LOADS of various coffees, creamers and sugars! Microwave, nutri-bullet blender, toaster, crock-pot, hot-water jug, basic dishware, and basic condiments.
NOTE: We do not have a hot plate -- by design -- and ask that you not bring your own.
The bathroom has a shower (no tub). The bathroom is small, but fresh and new and cleaned thoroughly after each guest.
All of these rooms are yours and won't be shared with anyone else.
Interaction with guests
I am in my portion of the house, but am here for you if you want to chat, get advice on the hot spots, where to eat, shop, directions, etc. If you're up for a walk, I'm always up for a walk through the neighborhood -- just ask! Maybe we'll even end up at the Thai restaurant near by!
Other things to note
I do have three cats, and while they have no access to your apartment you may hear them scurrying about early in the morning. Then, of course, they sleep the rest of the day because, well, they're cats. Note about cat allergies: The cats have never been in your apartment suite, but if you have serious allergies this might not be a good fit for you. I'm sure kitty hair can sneak through vents.
I do work from home too, so am in and out all day. You may hear me walking around. But I ain't dancin' with high heels, so it shouldn't be that loud!
There is street parking, but you'll want to park on the east side. The west side you can park from 6pm to 8am and all day Sunday. (The west side of the street is permitted parking for residents. The east side -- across the street -- has no homes so you have plenty of it!)
NOTE: The rates quoted are for two people, although 4 people can comfortably be here. But there is a $10 per night/per person fee over 2 people. Just mention it when you book and we'll work it out. Thanks.

I live in a very safe and quiet neighborhood and my neighbors are all aware I do short-term rentals and all are OK with it. My short term rental tax ID number is 301093. I renew my license every year. My home is located at Poplar and 4th. Major close cross streets are 6th Avenue one block east of Quebec. There are wide streets, plenty of parking and 35 minutes to the airport. I-70, downtown Denver in 15 min. RTD airport train at 40th & Colorado Blvd. is a 10 minute drive. There is also a bus pick-up within a 5 minute walk. I am also five minutes from the Lowry Eating Disorder Clinic Disorder Clinic, 24 Hour Fitness and Wings over the Rockies aircraft museum.
I do charge a one-time non-refundable pet fee of $75 for the stay. Please do NOT wash your dog in the bathtub, please clean up the yard after them and put their poop in a plastic bag before throwing it in the garbage receptacle. I do not allow pets on furniture or bed. In the bottom of the linen closet there are older towels to clean them and a couple of toys for them. I will allow only small dogs but I will need to know what breed and size the dog is first. My home is in a very safe neighborhood with wide streets. I don’t have a garage but you can park very close to the front door.
The neighborhood is transitional from original ranch homes like mine, to million dollar homes next door. I have a fully landscaped large backyard. It is fully fenced with a 900 square-foot grass area walkways and mulched areas and a patio with furniture and grill.
Guest access:
Neighborhood restaurants, walk to Starbucks in 5 min. Downtown Denver is 15 min. drive. Cherry Creek is 8 min. away for other restaurants, bars and great retail stores. I am close to so many great neighborhood restaurants, 24 Hour Fitness and Orange Theory within 5 minutes, bus stop can walk to in less than 5 minutes.
Interaction with guests:
I travel a lot for pleasure. I won't be around but will always be available via phone and/or text and e-mail. I have a combo front door lock with instructions on the front door. The combo will give you prior to arrival. My residence is non-smoking. If you need to smoke, do it outside only for both cigarettes and marijuana. Any questions you have prior to your visit let me know.
The neighborhood:
As I said, great wide streets in a transitional neighborhood. Wonderful, pleasant, friendly neighbors. Great location. I have a very large backyard and quiet area. A variety of restaurants. Please check out the Guidebook for places I have recommended.
Getting around:
There is a bus stop within a 5 minute walk on 6th avenue. There is also Uber and Lyft.
Other things to note:
I enjoy cooking so the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and gadgets. You may use the items in my refrigerator and spices, etc. to cook with and anything in the pantry. I have a Keurig machine for tea/coffee and a coffee maker with coffee provided. There is also an espresso machine in the pantry if you want to use it. I have paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo conditioner and soap available to you at a minimum. Help yourself to the snack basket. So, keep your car locked and valuables not left in your car just to be safe!

We offer a cozy den with great lighting, fireplace, large couch, kept nice and cool so you are never hot in any rooms in the Summer and toasty in the Winter. Large full size fridge with ice maker. After hours take the light rail downtown to enjoy night life, avoid parking fees, or worries about driving late nights. A $5 to $6 dollar ride on Uber/ Lyft to the rail stations for late night outings if you don't want to walk. Great lighting for coming and going on the side of the house where you park. Ample back patio lighting so you can always see to safely enter the apartment.

We found the location to be extremely convenient to the places we wanted to go and events we wanted to attend. Our son lives in the Cap Hill neighborhood and it was only a 10 or 12 minute drive. The Cherry Creek shopping area was not far away and very easy to find. Grocery stores were also close by. We discovered some great restaurants as well. We loved the spacious kitchen and found it to contain all of the essentials. The appliances were quite new and all were in excellent working order. The counter space was amazing and much appreciated for meal preparation. The gas grill was large and we were blessed with very mild weather so we grilled on Christmas day. The living room furniture was comfortable and we enjoyed stretching out and watching our favorite Christmas movies. The afghans and throw pillows added a homey touch. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and linens. The neighborhood was quiet and the fenced in back yard with a fire pit was more than we had time to enjoy. There was also a park about a block away. We plan to stay in this great home again!"

The basement is well-lit with bright lighting and features blackout curtains on three window wells for a restful night's sleep. The unique decor includes a beam-mounted chair swing, office area, multiple seating areas, spa like bathroom and a kitchenette, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Guests will have access to the entire basement, front porch, and personal parking space on the property. Adjacent to the property is a community park that has a seasonal community pool for our guests to enjoy.
Guests will have access to a private basement. The owner of the house is friendly, but will generally be out of sight. To access the basement walk through the front door, the first door to the right gives access to the basement stairwell. The basement door is fitted with it's own lock, and passcode. This house is located near some of Denver's main thoroughfares providing multiple forms of transportation. Uber and Lyft are easily accessible. Other forms of transportation include the bus lines, and the RTD Lightrail.

The space
The apartment is located on the first floor of a newly built, end-unit, three-story townhouse. While there are no stairs inside, there are three steps leading up to the main entrance. Upon entry, a shared hallway provides access to the private suite entrance on the left. The hallway is occasionally used by the host for garage access. The host resides upstairs, with both floors completely separated by soundproof doors and built-in walls. A personal keyless entry code will be provided before arrival.
Inside, the main living space features a kitchenette to the left and a spacious closet to the right. Further in, you’ll find a cozy living area with a pull-out couch and workstation. Behind the curtain to the right is the sleeping area and bathroom for added privacy.
The suite is kept comfortable with central air, and as the first floor naturally stays cooler, a space heater and fan are available if needed.

Remodeled in 2023, this funky apartment in our home is separated from the upstairs with private keypad entrance. The space
Our mid-century home has transcended its mod décor down the stairs into the apartment with fun design and cozy living space.
The kitchenette has a sink, mini-refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig stocked with plenty of coffee pods. We always put water bottles and a filtered water pitcher in the fridge. Plates, utensils and other kitchen amenities are provided.
The living room is cozy with two swivel, rocking lounge chairs, best for low key guests (not the party all night crowd). It has a huge TV that includes Netflix capability. We also have good ole Blu-ray movies and a plethora of games.
Just your basic bedroom with an empty dresser, closet space and a queen bed. Oh, and the heated mattress pad comes in handy during the winter months and a white noise machine for those with sleep challenges in new spaces. There is also an iron and ironing board available in the closet.
The bathroom is all new - shower, tile, and vanity. It's equipped with comfy robes and plush towels. No need to bring soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer ... it's all there.

Well lit, private entrance with keyless entry thru a short gate on the side of the house with reserved parking spot in the front of the house. You'll receive your personal key code and entry instructions upon booking.

Enjoy our newly remodeled, 700sq. ft. guest apartment with your own private entrance. We're ideally located both minutes from Denver's Cherry Creek neighborhood where you'll have access to the city's best restaurants, cocktail bars, and shopping and I-25, where you can easily get to downtown or out to the mountains!
The space
This guest suite is in the basement of our home and has a completely private entrance with a key pad on the side of the house (shown in pictures). Our space is walkable to coffee shops, restaurants and local parks and is also a few minute drive to Cherry Creek shopping district where you can find some of the best restaurants, cocktail bars and shopping in Denver. We are located just minutes from the highway that will give you quick access to the mountains or downtown. The light rail is also about a 5 minute drive (25 min walk) which would give you access to downtown or the airport.
The kitchen comes fully stocked with a refrigerator/freezer, air fryer/oven, hot plate, pots/pans and cooking utensils. The living space includes a desk for your WFH needs, cable and a Roku for your streaming services and WiFi. The unit does stay very comfortable and cool in the summer months as it is in the basement.
Please note the ceilings in the unit are 6 1/2 ft.

We are located in a quiet Denver neighborhood, just 12 minutes south of downtown and 5 minutes east of DU with immediate access to I-25. The space
Welcome to your Urban Mountain Lodge - where the rustic charm of the Rockies meets the heart of the city. We have created a space that embodies all we love about Colorado - a little bit mountain and a little bit city.
Please note, we do live upstairs with our two young children and you will hear us and the things life with children entails (laughter, crying, toys being dropped, baths being run, early morning footsteps, etc.). While we have never received complaints about the noise, we have provided sound machines in each bedroom, earplugs, and a complimentary bottle of wine to make your stay comfortable. The ceiling between the basement and the upstairs unit is also insulated to reduce noise transfer. We do our best to monitor our volume upstairs but please, expect noise similar to apartment-living.
The rental does not include access to the back or front yards since our children play there.
Like most old Denver homes, our house does NOT have central air conditioning; however, in the summer months, we install an AC window unit in the basement. Running the fans and opening the windows keeps it cool, as well.
The heat is controlled upstairs in the main part of the house. We keep the house at 72 degrees in the winter. We also provide 2 space heaters and extra blankets.
For sleeping, you will have access to 2 queen size beds and a pull-out couch as well as all bed linens, extra pillows, duvets and quilts.
The living area has a smart TV (with Netflix, Hulu, etc.), a few board games, books, and lounge seating.
The kitchenette is stocked with basic cooking supplies and utensils, dishes, a full-size fridge/freezer, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, air fryer, hot plate, and tea kettle. A sponge, dish soap, and dish towels are provided. Our kitchenette is best equipped for small meal prep as the sink is small, bar sized and there are no larger cooking appliances (oven/stove).
We provide a starter kit of Keurig coffee, cream, sugar, and tea bags.
The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, makeup wipes, hand soap, 2 travel lotions, toilet paper, and tissues. All bath linens are also provided.
There is also a laundry room with access to a washer and dryer. Laundry detergent, softener, dryer sheets, and iron are also provided for your use.
A pack-and-play and toddler booster seat are also available upon advanced request.
We also have a HEPA air filter to promote air sanitation.
**Please note, as of the 2024 Winter season we have decided to close the wood-burning fireplace indefinitely. As much as we love this amenity, after too many smoke-filled basements we have decided the safety of our family and our guests must come first. The fireplace now serves as a decorative element.

Free street parking is readily available. Our neighborhood is right off I-25 for easy commuting as well as half a mile from the city's RTD Lightrail that runs into downtown. Our neighborhood is also easily accessed by rideshare companies.

Our space is smoke-free (420 included), both inside and outside the property. This is a family-friendly rental.
We are committed to paying our cleaning crew a livable wage. We work with a professional cleaning team that ensures a spotless stay for each guest every time. Welcome! My home is a mid-century modern, open plan that is just a few minutes away from light-rail, and Cherry Creek. It's very easy to access I-25 and go either to the Tech Center or Downtown if you're driving. No matter your background, all are welcome.
The space
Two thirds of the house is open plan encompassing the living room, dining areas and kitchen. The back of the house holds three bedrooms (one of which is a library/office currently) and two bathrooms. It's been renovated but mostly in keeping with mid-century modern aesthetics in mind. It feels like a loft but has the benefit of a garden complete with honeysuckle, tri-color beech tree, Rebud, Japanese Pagoda, Japanese Maples (which I haven't killed yet), Weeping Pussywillow, Japanese Iris and of course, herbs, tomatoes and zucchini in progress.
During the summer, the house stays cool until around 3 p.m. (at which point I switch on the a/c or swamp cooler) even on days when it's 90 degrees outside. It has a great patio to enjoy coffee and croissants (available from the french bakery two blocks away). When the sun moves to the East, the patio is the perfect temperature for late lunches and dinners. Colorado gets over 300 days of sunshine a year so your chances are good for dining outside.

Your private areas are your room and bathroom. However, feel free to use the kitchen, patio and dining room. I also have a library/office if you need a place to work on a laptop or want to borrow a book for a few days. The master bedroom and bath plus the garage are off limits. I'm around a lot but usually have my head stuck in my computer. Happy to give suggestions on how to get around or where to go... As needed.

Other things to note
If you will be frequenting the grocery store, we have a Whole Foods a couple of miles north down Colorado Boulevard, a Trader Joe's a couple miles beyond that, a fantastic King Soopers over on Leetsdale and Cherry Creek (which incorporates a liquor store) and a close-by-for-essentials-Safeway a couple blocks south on Colorado Boulevard (not my favorite). Closest green-space is Ash Grove Park complete with basketball net... Cook Park is about a mile and a half east down Florida and has a public pool and indoor work out area. Washington Park with ponds, lots of people, coffee shops, Old Gaylord shopping district is about 10 mins by car. We have a 7-11 and a gas station within a few blocks though if heading back to the airport in your rental, you're better off using the gas station that is on Pena Boulevard close to the car rental return. Best way up to the mountains? Depends where you're going but we are close to both the 285 route and the I25/I70 route. Awesome things to do in summer in Colorado? Hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. Drive up to the top of Mount Evans (there's probably still snow). Visit Vail and pay for the chairlift up, hike all the way down and eat in the village. On the way back later in the day, stop in Idaho Springs for the best pizza in the state at Beau Jo's. It's pretty much an institution and is THE Beau Jo's at which to eat. It's just not the same in town. You can also drive up to Glenwood Springs and soak in the hot springs but that is a long drive there and back in a day. If you're craving water, you can go to Chatfield Reservoir for the day or Waterworld if water slides are more your style. Art? Surrounded by it. Cherry Creek has lots of galleries and artisan-style shops. The Art District on Santa Fe has awesome First Friday openings. The Denver Art Museum is fantastic. There's also the Denver Museum of Nature and Science - Latest exhibition is "Vikings". Other quickies? Was asked about mexican food recently. Upscale? Tamayo's downtown Denver in Larimer Square. Best Tacos? Marg's in Cherry Creek. Hands down. Best hole-in-the-wall-authentic? La Mexicana Taquiera in Highlands... Also in Highlands: Tacos Tequila Whiskey. Yum. There are also meet-up groups happening everywhere. Everything from tech groups to foodie groups to hiking. Great way to meet new people, especially if you're visiting to decide whether or not to relocate. I moved here in 1982. The weather is too good to move back to a rainy Commonwealth. One last thing, my dog does NOT shed.

The entrance is shared but I hardly ever use it because I use the garage door.

The living room offers plenty of plush seating for curling up in, a 50-inch smart ROKU TV, a secretary for working or studying, and a sofa that easily pulls out to a comfortable queen size bed. There is a bedside table and reading lamp next to the sofa bed and an adjacent closet with a luggage rack.
The private bedroom has a full size bed with bedside tables and reading lamps on both sides, a 44-Inch smart ROKU TV, a closet and luggage rack.
The spacious kitchenette has a granite countertop and includes a new microwave oven, refrigerator and dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker and K-cups, electric teapot with a selection of teas and hot chocolate, dishes, cooking utensils, flatware, and a bar height table with seating for two.
Just off the kitchenette is the super clean laundry room with a new Samsung washer and dryer, full size ironing board, steam iron, drain board sink with a generous butcher block countertop, a wall-mounted drop-down butcher block table where you can fold laundry or two kids can sit and play or eat, or where you can get some work done behind the closed door.
The bathroom offers a full-size shower with body soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a roomy, six-drawer built-in vanity with a large mirror, granite countertop and a luxury sink and faucet, outfitted with hair dryer, tissues and makeup removal pads.
The apartment has plenty of towels, sheets, blankets and extra pillows.
The patio has a dining table with seating for six and lounge seating for six. Coordinate with us to use the charcoal grill – charcoal & cooking utensils provided.

Your entry is the back door of the house, located on the patio. Park on the street in front of the house. Walk up the driveway and enter the patio though the gate. Enter your access code into the keypad to the left of the door. Detailed instructions will be provided upon booking.
You will have access to the basement apartment and the back yard and patio.

This cute 1243sf ranch style house is 10 min from I-25 off Colorado Blvd. Central to grocery, restaurants, hospitals (3mi Porter AdventHealth; 4 mi Swedish; 5.5mi Anschutz and VA). 10-15min to Cherry Creek mall, 10 min to DU, 20-25min to downtown, and 2 blocks from Cherry Creek trail.
The space
This house has all the amenities including Cuisinart k-cup coffee maker, toaster/convection oven, toaster, blender, soda stream, and everything you need for extended and short term stays. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need! That's because during the COVID shutdown, I had longer term stays and just decided to keep all kitchen essentials intact.
I provide full size toiletries and basics to start off your stay. Coffee/tea, sugar, honey are provided. To help you stay safe during your stay, I provide hand sanitizer, antibacterial spray and cleaners. Back room now has hardwood floors. For those guests who are working remotely, printer and extra desk and office chair are available.
Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, and AppleTV are included with your stay. 2 TVs

Guests have access to the entire house except the storage room, back room closet, and garage. This house will be privately yours during your stay. (roughly 1100 sf of space)
STREET PARKING OR AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY ONLY. My neighbor's yard is next to the driveway and continues to get the sprinkler heads (marked by snow marker stick) run over.
Other things to note
The house has a security system. There is one cameras outside of the house. Security cameras are disabled/turned off/offline during guest stay.
Landscapers come on Wednesday's to mow during the spring and summer months. There is snow removal service in the winter time but snow shovels are available in case you need to get your car out of the driveway before the snow removal service comes. They typically come late in the day.
I have a neighbor that has a dog(s) that barks when outside. They are kept inside most of the day but my neighbor has a doggy door on the side of the house. If the dog becomes a problem, please contact me ASAP so I can talk to my neighbor.
