- "Everything was perfect" - "The nook is just perfect. It has plenty of space for everyone. We were 13 and never felt squeezed throughout the week. It is super clean and the kitchen is very well equiped (for true, not like some other places where you only have the very basics...). The kids had a lot of fun in the game room. The yard is huge, we even played baseball (with the kids obviously, still too small for grown-ups !) The property is well situated in a quiet neighbourhood. The state park has some nice trails but they did not allowed swimming some days while it was in the national park just beside. So we headed to the national park most of the time. There is a bike path to the state park but none to the national park. However if you go by bike, the state park passe only lets 1 person in and you need to pay for each person. If you go by car, everyone in the car will get in with the same pass. So we ended up leaving the bikes behind for that. There are other bike trails but we didn't explore much. If you want to spend a lot of time in Chicago, it might be a bit far but still feasible. It was not the case for us, we stayed close most of the time. All in all, a very fun week. The nook was even better than expected. It is a sure call to rent here !"

The house is located about a mile from the beach and we never had a issue getting parking right by the beach. We loved the area. We went to a lot of different places within the National Park and nothing was farther than 15-20 minutes away. We also took the train to see a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. I loved being able to quickly drive down to the lake and catch a spectacular sunset! I also enjoyed running from the house and along Lake Michigan."

Located in upscale Valparaiso, Indiana. Conveniently located just one hour from Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Just 15 minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan and Indiana Dunes National Park. Close to downtown Valparaiso and Chesterton… quaint areas with a variety of uniques shops, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and apple and berry picking orchards/farms.

The farmhouse has an open concept with a fully equipped kitchen, and all brand new, stainless steel appliances. Everything you’d need to prepare an unforgettable meal, gathered in a light filled dining room that seats 16. There are 4 bedrooms, 11 beds and 3 baths, accommodations to sleep 16. {1 King Bed, 3 Queen Beds and 2 Queen bunk Beds, 2 Twin Daybeds with 2 Pullout Twin Beds, 1 Queen pull out sofa} Nearly every room enjoys panoramic views. The open living room/dining room boasts a great space for relaxing, playing games, and more. There are 3- 70 inch smart tvs with premium cable and a sound system in each living room. Enjoy a movie in front of a gas fireplace. We offer a Peloton bike in the upstairs bedroom already signed into our account to choose from a variety of workouts. The outdoor patio, directly outside the back door, offers a 6-person hot tub (open year-round with string lighting), gas grill, dining table, bags, and fire pit. Plenty of room for parking by the house!!

Access to the barn, which sits 100 feet or so away from the house, is NOT included in vacation rentals. We do ask that our farmhouse guests appreciate the barn from a distance, as it is not included in Airbnb rentals
Other things to note
We strictly enforce our 16-guest maximum. However, we can accommodate many people, and may be able to make an exception to this rule, but there will be an added fee of $75 per person, per day, after the first 16 guests. Airbnb groups may not host parties/events with non-overnight guests under any circumstances. Prior to your stay, we require a list of guests that will be on the property, with ages. We will also email a liability waiver that we will need you to print, have all guests sign, and bring with you yo check in. Security cameras will be placed outside, facing each gate.

NO fires in basement bedroom!!! It is for display only!!! You may use the gas fireplace in main level living room.

There is a $350 cleaning fee

This a non smoking and pet free home!!!
Absolutely no pets. There will be a $300 fine if any pet is brought into the house.

This property does not have city water, and is well/septic. The home utilizes the newest water softener on the market from OSBY.

Please note landscaping and pond maintenance may take place around the property during work hours on any day of the week--we try to let guests know when to expect any groundskeepers.

Lovingly named " Rivera House" by our friends, this cool house is located steps from the beach, combining the comfort and style of the home. It features a large, combined kitchen/dining/living room full of natural light and lake views. Two bedrooms on the second level share a full bathroom. The large room designated for children is located on the lower level of the home, and has it's own bathroom, with a walkout patio to a private backyard. 2 days minimum rental, please.
The space
Lower level of the house has a large space designed for children, and a full bathroom. 2 bunk beds and a trundle bed comfortably fits 6 children. A large Love sack chair provides nice seating for a gaming and /or TV watching.
The walkout patio leads to a fenced-in backyard. A gas grill, 6 chairs, a mobile fire pit will meet any dining and entertainment needs.
A master bedroom on the second level has 2 queen beds, a walk-in closet and an access to a full bathroom. A 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, and a closet for personal belongings and a closet for supplies.
A small workspace on the 3rd level has a couch and a small work table. Great space to catch up on the emails or to read.
A roof top seating area is our favorite. We have our morning coffee there, and watch the sundown over the Lake Michigan.
In the garage, we keep 5 bikes, 2 paddle boards, 6 beach chairs and 2 umbrellas, lots of safety vests for older children and adults.
The mobile ping pong table can be rolled out onto the driveway, and used for a family Olympics evening.
Bedding, bath towels and beach towels are provided. Fully stacked kitchen,- just bring your food, your crew, sunscreen and have fun!
Guest access
Guests can access all areas of the house, except the closet contents in the hallway on the lower level, and a jet ski in the garage that is not our property.

Access to beach was about 2 minutes by slow stroll. Owner encouraged us to use beach chairs, paddle boards, games, etc for fun at the beach. Neighbors were very friendly. We spent a day on Eastern side of Dunes National Park, and comparatively, Miller Beach (home’s location) was by far the nicest beach we came across. The only thing I would mention is that the kitchenettes in the various suites have small refrigerators and very limited cooking and eating supplies if you have a larger group and plan to cook or bake quite a bit or need quite a bit of fridge space. - "Fantastic location for visiting the Dunes and we loved our quick trips to downtown Valpo. Highly recommend eating at Lincoln Flats for dinner. We came here with our 2.5 year old and 5 month old and there was a lot of stuff to do. Just wish we could’ve stayed for a couple more days to fit more into our trip. The communication was great with the host and the neighborhood was very quiet and safe for families. The only thing we rated less than 5-stars was the water had a sulfur odor, but we chalked that up to irregular use of the pipes with it being a vacation rental. We bought bottled water and it wasn’t a huge issue. The place was clean and beds were comfy. Wal Mart was close by to stock up on groceries and the grill and kitchen were great. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re wanting to see the Dunes and Michigan City."

A newly renovated riverfront peaceful retreat on 10 acres in the woods, close to the Indiana Dunes National Park, the beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan, New Buffalo and Valparaiso University. Our home is also a good stop for travelers between Chicago, Indianapolis and Detroit. Beautiful 10 acres of wooded grounds ideal for fishing, birdwatching and relaxing in a beautiful nature setting.
The space
Our home has 2 bedrooms and a total of 4 beds. We allow up to 7 guests to stay at the home, but the beds comfortably sleep 6 (1 King, 1 queen, and 2 twins).
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the entire home and property. The garage will be locked and is used for owner storage. It is not available for guest access.

There are lots of hiking trails close by, too. The WiFi was fast enough for my buddy and I to both game separately (we are very particular about internet speed, so this was a must).
