While the property is older, it has the most incredible setting. Booking a superior room is absolutely worth it for the mountain-front views and electricity at all hours. The room itself is massive - the photos online do not do it justice. The bed has a clever mosquito net surrounding the whole "bed room" so you can still move within the net and use the nightstands. The room also has A/C which was fantastic. Didn't even sleep with the curtains closed in order to wake up to the incredible view. They did do turndown, which was mostly just to close the mosquito netting. The tub has a great view as well- the water doesn't get super hot because the tub is concrete to naturally cools the water a bit, but regardless it's fantastic. The food is great, while pricier than other hotels, you do get what you pay for. Great breakfast as well. This is a true gem and an absolute MUST if you're in the area. You will not regret it!"

She will help out with your laundry, she cooks you breakfast every morning and asks you what you prefer to eat, she keeps the bathroom tidy, towels ready and soap filled consistently. Mirado is the driver, he was great. He took me to go party at the clubs and would wait for me outside, he would be there everytime I had a flight, always helping me with my luggage, he also would help prepare breakfast if mme vola was out for the day. I really loved the room, it has an amazing view of the city during the day & night. I do recommend to bring a portable charger in case power goes go out. Out of the 15 days there, power only went out once for 3 hours. But that is common in Tana. When I come back to Madagascar I will stay here again. Thank you for everything, much love "

The location isn't ideal for exploring the city as it is quite a way out of town and the traffic jam into and out of town is intense... but if doing anything in the area (I was at a conference), or setting off on a tour or the airport, it is perfect. There are also many other good restaurants in the area, but after dark walking (especially alone) is not recommended - but any restaurant will happily call a taxi. I would definitely stay there again for the pleasant experience and it is exceptionally good value for the very reasonable rates. "

Expedia told the only way they could cancel was for them to contact the hotel. Knowing the challenges with calls in Madagascar, I told Expedia I would call myself as I am here in the country. Sandra answered right away and after I explained my situation told me she would consult with Oliver, the property manager the next day as it was almost 10 pm.
