- "We stayed two nights at the Grand View Resort. The in-room mizuburo and onsen bath were a treat,.and definitely the best thing about the room! The bed was sufficiently firm, and very large. Pillows are on the softer side. Water pressure in the shower room was good. The complimentary breakfasts were delicious. We recommend the Taiwanese style breakfast over the western style one. They're both great, but that Taiwanese breakfast was just a little more special. We had one dinner at their Chinese restaurant, and it was excellent as well. Staff were always helpful and very courteous without being overbearing. We also appreciated the complimentary shuttle service to Beitou and Xinbeitou Stations. The only downside to the place is that its location is far into the mountainside, and not walkable during summer."

You can tell it is an old resort, but it is very clean and well maintained. The room was fine. The pools are nice. Breakfast was good and it was nice that the breakfast was served until 12pm. The beach/rock pool area is amazing! we saw lots of creature there. However, dining is very inconvenient at the hotel and quite expensive. There was only one restaurant serving dinner and only one option - hot pot. it was nice but we can't have hot pot for 5 nights! We didn't drive so it wasn't easy for us to get to Kenting night market with young children. Overall, I would recommend the resort as it is nice and relaxing there. However, the dining really put me off to stay there again. "

Due to the historical nature of the location, the rooms are not as uptodate as one would expect from a modern hotel. I wish we could have stayed more nights (we only stayed 2 nights) as the beach was wonderful. Be sure to ask the front desk to call a taxi for you as there aren't as many taxis that will just pass by due to their secluded location. This is not the hotel for you if you are handicapped as they do not have an elevator. "
