Our large party were treated well throughout by the friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast too" - "Staff are amazing at this hotel. They make your stay very special. The food is wonderful. Always plenty of choice for breakfast and we can highly recommend dinner. The wines were very nice. The standard room we stayed in was very clean but small. Limited storage for clothes. Lovely bed and pillows. Nice toiletries and big fluffy robes and slippers. The location is good up a bit of a hill from the harbor but most things are on a hill in St Peters Port. We would highly recommend this hotel. "

My room was nice although very close to reception which meant I could hear (and see!) comings and goings until 10pmish. Liked the small friendly atmosphere around the place. - "Beautiful hotel. Our room was very warm and the air con didnt work very well but there was a plug in fan which helped. The small pool and spa area is nice. Only downside is the very steep hill between hotel and the port area. There is a shuttle a few times a day but it may not be a suitable hotel for people with mobility issues." - "Very polite and helpful staff, lovely room which was made Spock and span every day." - "Excellent hotel, quiet, friendly staff, well maintained and delicious food. Outstanding professionalism of front of house, high-end, quiet, extensive well-thought-out wine list and delicious food in the restaurant." - "Our room was large and the view of the harbour from the balcony was very good. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable of the island." - "Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. Extremely nice room, obviously newly done up. One slight criticism: my room was right by the lift, which is really noisy." - "Very good service, cleanliness and location. Couldn’t fault the hotel." - "Beautiful location, helpful staff, good food." - "The hotel is in a stunning location with lovely grounds right next to the beach with tracks to take you on lovely walks. My room was fine, it was clean and facilities good. The decor will probably benefit from some TLC soon, and the bed was a little bouncy for me, but that is personal preference. The bar area and restaurant are lovely, the food very good, especially breakfast. Staff were amazing, very happy and polite. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Peninsula for a lovely break 👍👍"

Lots of walking and not many peoples marvellous.," - "we chose to stay at the Hotel to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary." - "Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The service was excellent, the food was too good, and Richard, the manager, was always available, attentive and charming. We look forward to returning next year." - "Bland exterior to road misleading. Inside nicely appointed. Refined dining room, with fantastic balcony where meals and snacks can be taken. Staff very pleasant and unobtrusively attentive. Food good but menu would be monotonous at a long stay. Crab sandwiches at lunch are fantastic. Charming lounges on lower floor are underused and are next to nice private cinema. Location is great - at the end of a long sandy bay and a jetty with views of the harbour. Small island. Possible to walk most of it in a couple of days. Lots of WWII memerobelia and forts. Picuresque town is 1/2 mile up a steep hill but there is a bus in August. On some days there is a train to top of island. Shop with basics nearby."

- "The setting of the hotel was absolutely stunning and the staff most pleasant would definitely use the Imperial again" - "Only a short bus ride away from the airport. We travelled by bus our entire visit, purchasing the Puffin Pass from the information counter at the airport. The bus stop is conveniently located just outside the hotel. Every morning we had a nice full english cooked breakfast which was included with the room. Staff are really friendly and helpful, would like to mention Eve, who worked the reception and also served breakfast in the mornings. She was very helpful helping us navigate the bus schedule, getting items that had been forgotten to replace in the room daily such as water & cookies, and call us a cab to airport due to issues with bus due to our departure being on a holiday may 1st. Even though she was busy getting ready to serve breakfasts Eve still managed to get us a cab. Big thankyou Eve for making our stay so pleasant. Beautiful hotel, and sea view directly accross from the ocean."

A listed granite barn on a very quiet lane, ten minutes from the sea, beaches, with a wealth of opportunities for walking and cycling on coastal paths, along tranquil lanes, all within minutes of the property.
The listed barn, and owner's house next door, have both been in the family since they were built a hundred years ago. The property has fields on three sides, which continue in agricultural use, mostly hay-making.
Restaurants and supermarket shopping are available close by, and the bus to St Peter Port stops 3 minutes away, at the bottom of the lane.

This lovely seaside cottage is located a few paces from a sandy, west coast beach and close to the island's stunning cliffs. Previously featured in Country Homes & Interiors magazine, the cottage features a working fireplace, exposed interior stone walls, tongue-and-groove boards, ship’s mast beams, distressed wood floors and a Shaker kitchen. Three bedrooms (one with en suite shower room), family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Small, sunny, fully enclosed back garden with decking, picnic table for six and bistro table for two. Washer/dryer/dishwasher. Pyramid system installed in 2023 provides constant, robust wifi.
Close to the beautiful Pleinmont cliff paths and nature reserve, Fort Grey Shipwreck Museum and Second World War Occupation historical sites. Restaurant/pub with sunset terrace within easy walking distance. Nearby is a Pony Club/ABRS accredited riding centre that offers hacks and riding lessons.
- "Authentic cottage with amenities and beach close by cottage beautiful and everything provided that you needed for your stay . Very pretty, cosy and comfy cottage with all the bits and bobs you need. 1-2 mins walk from the beach and hotel with restaurant nearby too. Definitely returning." - "We stayed at Foxfire Cottage for a week in September and we had a fabulous time. The cottage is a lovely historical building located literally minutes from the beach, a bus stop and a pub and restaurant. It really was the perfect base to explore Guernsey. All the rooms were comfortable, clean and cosy. We especially loved the stable doors at the front and back of the cottage! The Wifi at the cottage was a little patchy, probably due to the very solid stone walls! There was also some noise from the airport (possibly hard to avoid on an island). Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you!"

Morningstar is situated in the rural parish of Torteval, a peaceful haven away from the bustle of St Peter Port. It has easy access to: historic sites, from Tudor and Napoleonic castles to 2nd World War German fortifications, including the German Underground Hospital, the 22cm gun battery and Naval Observation post at Pleinmont, the Fairy Ring near the Tudor Fort Pecqueries; wide sandy beaches looking towards the Hanois lighthouse to the west; the pretty parish church and the unique St Peter's church, dating from the 14th century; and several cafes, pubs, restaurants and a fish and chip shop within a few minutes' drive, including the Imperial Hotel restaurant which has wonderful views over Rocquaine Bay and the Napoleonic era Fort Grey.
Although the drive has generous parking for cars, a bus stop is located a couple of minutes' walk from the house. For those that prefer cycling or walking, the speed limit is 35 mph and the lanes behind the house rarely have traffic. Nowhere is very far on Guernsey!

The Ellingham Cottages are nestled within the beautiful parish of St Martins in the south-east of the island. We are only two miles from the picturesque harbour town of St Peter Port and yet are perfectly located for easy access to the stunning south-coast cliffs for scenic hikes; tranquil green lanes ideal for leisurely walks and bike rides; and quiet sandy bays perfect for sunbathing away from the crowds.
The two-bedroom classic cottages at The Ellingham Cottages are on two levels and sleep 4 people, plus an infant (travel cots available on request). The cottages are available for weekly bookings with a Saturday changeover. There is another two-bed cottage which welcomes guests on a Sunday - listed separately.
Downstairs is a fully-equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, washing machine etc. The living room has two comfortable sofas and a dining table which seats 4 people. A high chair is available on request. The cottages have a 32" flat-screen TV, plus DvD player and free-sat channels. The bathrooms have either a bath with an overhead shower, or a separate shower.
The patio doors lead to a lovely shared terrace - a perfect spot for enjoying your breakfast. To the front of the cottage is a small garden that catches the afternoon and evening sun. Plus there is a large shared back garden with plenty of places to sit and eat.
Within just a few minutes walk is the parish 'high street', with some shops, a bakery, Co-Op, M&S Food Hall, garages, a pub, cashpoint and pharmacy. There is a regular bus service that runs past the cottage. The bus service is excellent - cheap, reliable and friendly drivers! This service travels to several places, including the main town of St Peter Port. There is also a circular bus route which you can pick up from The Ellingham which takes you all around the island.
Guernsey is a small island and thus relatively easy to get around. Whether you are wanting to lie back and relax on stretching sandy beaches, watch the bustle of the marina, experience culinary delights, or more active experiences, such as surfing, coasteering, wind-surfing, cycling, hiking, swimming or boogie-boarding - Guernsey offers something for everyone to enjoy. St Peter Port is exceptionally charming, set along the sea-front and with a cobbled high street and VAT-free shopping. A wonderful day can be spent browsing the fashion, beauty and jewellery boutiques before stopping for lunch at a harbour-side restaurant, before maybe visiting the house that Victor Hugo lived in when in exile from France. It is lovely to have a simple sandwich lunch sitting on one of the many benches overlooking the harbour filled with yachts.
The Cottages are a short walk to Sausmarez Manor, with it's sub-tropical gardens, sculpture park and weekly Farmers' Market. Other attractions are Castle Cornet, Vale Castle, the Occupation Museum, Aquarium, Oatlands Play Centre and boutique shops, plus there are the wonderful islands of Sark and Herm to explore - both only a short boat trip away.
- "Really helpful when booking and on arrival. Even went to the trouble of getting me gluten free bread and oat milk, thank you! Very clean, had everything we needed. Peaceful location, very near a bus stop." - "Cosy cottage with well-equipped kitchen, quiet location, easily accessible by public transport, too. Very welcoming hosts." - "This property is in a great location for exploring the best area of Guernsey. Easy walk into village, local pubs/restaurants and access to pretty bays. This property has a number of properties adjoining each other and sharing some outside space. No pool or views of bays from actual cottages is available but this was not a problem for us. Cottages are clean and modern and as described in listing."

The Ellingham Cottages is nestled within the beautiful parish of St Martins in the south-east of the island. Whilst only 1.5 miles from the picturesque harbour town of St Peter Port, it is also perfectly located for scenic hikes along the stunning south-coast cliffs; leisurely walks and bike rides along tranquil green lanes; and sunbathing at the nearby quiet sandy bays.
The Ellingham Cottages has 12 two and three-bedroom cottages. Three of the cottages are rated as 'superior' cottages as they offer that little bit more than the (still very lovely) 'classic' cottages. Guests can enjoy enhanced amenities such as wall-mounted televisions in one of the bedrooms, a private Netflix account, DAB radios and luxury toiletries. Whilst the classic cottages enjoy a shared terrace, these superior cottages each have a private terrace or courtyard with built-in BBQ.
Both superior cottages are on two-levels and sleep 4 people, with a king-bed in the master bedroom and two single beds in the second bedroom. The bathrooms have a bath with an overhead shower. On opening the patio doors of the Garden Terrace Cottage, there is a private walled terrace with a built-in BBQ and table and chairs. It has direct access to the large shared garden and gets the sun all afternoon and evening. The Courtyard Cottage has a private paved courtyard garden accessed from the bright and spacious living room. There is a built-in BBQ with a dining table and chairs, plus an outdoor sofa to lounge on. The third superior cottage is a ground-floor cottage and is listed separately.
The cottages are available for weekly bookings with a Saturday changeover.
We would be happy to make recommendations.

From St Peter Port, visitors can take the short boat trip to the beautiful neighbouring islands of Herm and Sark.
- "The superior cottage was immaculately clean and very well equipped. Location is a little way away from St Martin but close enough to the local, food serving pub and bus services to all parts of the island. Supermarkets close by for those who wish to cater for themselves. The only inconvenience for us was the bathroom being downstairs but it was no more than this. The week we stayed was extremely quiet leading to excellent sleep on a first class bed. All in all would recommend for two adult and two kids, four adults would be a bit tight unless very good friends!"

Les Carriaux Cottage sits within one of the most beautiful parishes on Guernsey, St. Andrew's. Located in the centre of the Island, St. Andrew's is ideally situated to reach all parts of the Island. So if you like to ramble or cycle around the country lanes, go hiking on the stunning cliff paths, surf or swim at the lovely beaches, we are close to it all. But the real advantage of Les Carriaux is it large garden and swimming pool, which is surrounded by a terrace. An amazing space for alfresco dining and the family barbecues.
The conservatory also provides a lovely space to read relax or for an evening drink. For those travelling without a car, the bus stop is a 2 minute walk, on the direct route inbound to St Peter Port and the main bus terminus and the Airport outbound. A 2minute walk to our local child friendly pub, The Last Post serving lunches and evening meals. Bicycles can be hired locally and can be delivered to the property. So all in all everything is on hand for a wonderful holiday.

- "We had a wonderful stay while vacationing in Guernsey! The house was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Our host, Bernadette was very responsive and accommodating. The grounds of this place are beautiful! It was too cold for us to use the pool but I wish we could have. Really went above and beyond for our expectations I can’t praise this enough! If we ever make it back to Guernsey, will definitely stay here again. Don’t pass this one up!"

The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower and fitted bathroom furniture. The living room has a dining area that seats 4 people. A high chair is available on request. The comfy leather sofas are perfect to sink into, after a day exploring Guernsey, to watch your favourite TV programme on the 32" flat-screen TV with free-sat channels, or to watch a DVD. The garden doors lead to a lovely shared terrace with outdoor tables and chairs - a perfect spot for enjoying your breakfast. To the front of the cottage is a small garden that catches the afternoon and evening sun. Plus there is a large shared back garden. You’ll love this cottage for its facilities, convenient location and the peacefulness!
- "Someone came to work on to outside of the house, but would have been good to be informed that he would come, as we were awoken by the bell ringing (unneccesarily). Otherwise we had a great stay!" - "Our cottage was perfect for our family. It was comfortable when we needed some downtime to just hang out and its location was a perfect location to base our holiday. It's not far from St. Peter Port, it's within walking distance of several fantastic restaurants, a market, Sausmarez Manor, and more. We had great walks to Moulin Huet Bay and Fermain Bay from the cottage as well. I'm really going to miss Guernsey but hope to return soon and would happily return to Ellingham."

The Hideaway is hidden up our side garden, out of view of the main house, in the peaceful village of Perelle, on the West Coast of Guernsey. It's compact but designed to maximise the space with separate bedroom with double bed and super comfy mattress and wardrobe with drawers. Modern shower room, kichenette and snug area, decking area with garden furniture and access to shared laundry room and hot tub. Heated with underfloor heating and double doors looking out onto decking and garden.
- "This is a delightful little Gem.. Susie and Paul have made wonderful compact accommodation in the Hideaway. They are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble . The Hideaway is very convenient for the local super store and for bus routes to St Peter Port and destinations around the island. Great place to stay - I shall go again." - "Just right for a quiet holiday away from the teeming crowds. Yet still convenient for all attractions and facilities on the island. Very welcoming owners and the property was modern and superbly equipped. Delightful!"

A fully modernised cottage which adjoins the main house, directly opposite the stunning Longis Beach and Fort Raz.
The Cottage sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms and the accommodation is set out over two floors and enjoys stunning views.
Pets are accepted by prior arrangement only and a small charge is made for this, payable in cash on arrival.
The island of Alderney is one of the UK's best kept secrets, only 80 miles south of the UK's southern coast and the cottage is located at the eastern end of the island, about 1.5 miles from the town of St Anne.
It should be noted that the island of Alderney is a separate island to Guernsey - a 15 minute flight away or just over an hour on a small boat. Our postal district is Guernsey which is why it may seem confusing!
- "After a very warm welcome we were very happy to find this clean, neat and cosy cottage where we felt immediately at home. The cottage was well equipped. The location on the island was unique with view on the sea and access to the beach. We are grateful for this extraordinary experience," - "We loved this property with views of the sea to wake up to and the beach a stone throw's away-mostly deserted in June. The night skies were amazing too. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds with seats to sit outside. Orange tipped butterflies danced at our feet and we saw Hummingbird moths. The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need and Gill and Nigel are very friendly and helpful. St Anne's is about 3 miles away but taxi's anywhere are £5 and are very efficient-we used A1 Taxi's when we didn't want to walk. The island is a paradise for nature lovers with Alderney Wildlife Trust trips available to see bats, blonde hedgehogs, puffins and "Gannet Rock". Volunteers spend a year on the island doing work for the Trust which we were very impressed with. There are lots of places to eat out in Bray and St Anne's-all the meals we had were very good. We highly recommend this property and island if you just want to get away fromm it all and take a step back in time-no one locks their doors on the island!"

- "Our holiday was fantastic! The property was well equipped, superb location with shops and eateries within 5-10 minutes walk (and all the food in the local restaurants was delicious!), well placed for many walks along the cliff paths and easy to reach destinations further afield by bus. The team were all very helpful, providing useful information about the local area prior to arriving. The Library is well stocked with information and DVDs. We thoroughly enjoyed the large outside area with the football goal and other equipment. Would definitely love to return again. Thank you :)"

Our self catering cottage with stunning sea views on the beautiful, unspoiled island of Alderney, offers you the chance to relax and enjoy peace and quiet in comfort right by the beach. The cottage, which is adjoining the main house, sleeps 4 max.
Please note that although the location address says Guernsey that is a postal classification only - we are on a totally separate island (much smaller and more beautiful!) but it takes a little more effort to get to us!
The space
We are lucky enough to live in one of the world's most unique and amazing places and offer you the chance to come and experience it too. The "cottage" is actually part of the main house where we live so we will be neighbours during your stay. There are no other neighbours visible from the cottage as we enjoy total privacy. Please note that we are only licenced for 4 people so the use of the sofabed is restricted only to when guests do not wish to share double beds. We can provide extra bedlinen for the sofabed on request. The beds have duvets and there is an extra blanket in each bedroom in case you get cool in the night. We can also provide warmer or cooler duvets and can offer different pillows on request. Beach towels can also be provided upon request.
Guest access
Fully self contained accommodation over two floors with stunning sea views. Guests have their own garden area with seating and a separate elevated picnic table with stunning views
Other things to note
NB DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, BORDERS ARE CURRRENTLY CLOSED INTO THE CHANNEL ISLANDS FROM THE UK AND DUE TO OPEN IN JULY 2021.
The only way to get to Alderney from the UK is to fly. There are cargo boats from the UK which will take passengers but its a long haul and not very comfortable, so Aurigny, our island airline, offers a very reliable and personal service. Don't expect in-flight services, the little planes (now Dorniers as trislanders were retired in 2017) only take 16-19 passengers and are... well, a little noisy!! The island is rather behind the times (we like it that way!) but it does mean that those who are used to everything being open 24/7 will be disappointed, shops close at 5.30 every day except Thursday and there is still half day closing on a Wednesday, although we do have one supermarket that opens all day on a Sunday. We put the basic things in the cottage for your first breakfast, but if you are more organised a food delivery can be ordered to be delivered on the day you arrive which we will take in for you and put in the fridge etc. There are two cash machines on the island but it can be that they may be out of action for a short period so some back-up cash is always a good idea.
The per night price is all year round. Rates are for the property and do not change depending upon how many people stay.
