A retro Californian inspired floating accommodation for guests who crave the unseen. Located on the absolute waterfront of the Gippsland Lakes, Victoria in Australia’s idyllic Far South East. Idle Lake House is a tribute to its relatively untouched location, with connection to its local environment, proximity to the locals and saltwater culture.
While it may look petite, Idle Lake House is surprisingly spacious, sleeping four in two queen-sized bedrooms. There’s a separate bathroom, shower room and a powder room and a large living room with an open-plan kitchen. The sense of space is reinforced by the use of curved walls and floor-to-ceiling glass framing the unbroken lake view. Sliding doors lead to a deck with outdoor seating, with a steel ladder providing entry into the cool green water of the lake should it get too hot, and boat mooring right out front.
Idle shares the vessel with a public floating sauna. The sauna has its own entry point and is not accessed from your accomodation.

Have you always looked at the boats on the dock and wondered what it would be like to stay on one? well now you can.
This accommodation is adult only.
The boat is not available to leave the mooring, but you will be as close to the water as you can get. You’ll get a real boat life experience.
Our Boat is moored in the calm waters of North Arm and right in the centre of town, walking distance to everything, cafes, restaurants, pub, Supermarket all within blocks of your mooring.
The space
Our beautiful Searay is located on a secure jetty with security gate access.
As pictured our boat has above and below deck dining tables, small kitchenette,and a typical boat style Bathroom( compact but functional).
There is a double bed on the lower section of the living area, as well as an elevated bed, which can also be used as a bed or for just for relaxing.
I’ve tried to picture all this in the photos provided but please reach out if you need any more information.
All electricity and water are connected, so no worries about charging phones, hot water, microwave, kettle etc, everything works as it would at home.
A stand up paddle board is also provided if you feel like some exercise.

Your booking the entire space for hotel style accommodation use only, the boat isn’t available to leave the mooring.
Other things to note
It’s important to note that the lake is tidal, and so the boat can often have a bit of a step up to get on and off, reasonable mobility is required for access.
There are also stairs into the cabin.
Another important thing to note while staying on board is that the showers need to quicker than normal and the toilet where possible is no paper, ( all drains lead to the ocean ) this will be explained on booking but will not effect your stay to much.

The space
The luxury accommodation sits on a floating platform moored in the western harbour on The Esplanade, the lake separated from the ocean by a long, thin spine of land.
Idle is all yours, and the space around it is shared by fellow nomads, yachtsman and sauna enthusiasts. Usually, the area around the boat is quiet, and sometimes it's a hive of fishing, hot / cold plunging, boat building and community. Lakes Entrance itself is a picture of wild East Coast activity in summer, and almost abandoned in winter. We love both equally.

Idle is a boat and we want you guys to have some wine, for God sake do some dancin and be safe around the water. We haven’t much railing so as not to interfere with your view, so please just be safe on the decks and don’t go breaking any bones on this trip.
Idle shares the platform with a public floating sauna. The sauna has its own entry point and is not accessed from your accomodation. As a team we designed this vessel and both of our business’ for fun and good times so you may notice some noise and splashing from the north end. Please know that both business’ have done absolutely everything we can to prevent any interruptions for all of our patrons, however noise travels so damn well over water that unfortunately you may notice KOHO’s guests at times. Our vessel as a whole is a vibe and meant for good times, so take it all in and enjoy embrace the fun.
