The Blackwood Arm property is a secluded coastal bush hideaway located on the sought after Gippsland Lakes, South Eastern Victoria. Just 10 minutes from the popular tourist destination of Lakes Entrance, 5 minutes from local golf courses, 3 minutes from the regional airport and still conveniently close to the pristine 90 Mile Beach.

The Lakehouse is located within walking distance to the East Gippsland Rail Trail and Wyanga Park Winery. As a guest at the Lakehouse, you will also have exclusive access to the private Blackwood Arm jetty on the tranquil North Arm where you can enjoy kayaking on the lake, a relaxing picnic on the jetty or just drop in a fishing line and test your skills against the local catch.

The Lakehouse is fully self-contained. This cosy cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and is able to comfortably sleep 4 people. Standard bedding in the Lakehouse is a Queen BED in the master bedroom and a Double BED in the second bedroom.

Linen, bath towels and beach towels are included in your nightly tariff quote, along with costs associated with your departure clean. We ask that you leave our guesthouse in a tidy condition when you depart.

Please note, as we are a private owner rental direct to the guest, there is no daily servicing of the guesthouse during your stay, however the guesthouse has laundry facilities including washing machine, clothes line and iron.

The Lakehouse has amazing 180 deg water views across the North Arm. The private balcony has an outdoor dining area which is fully equipped with BBQ to ensure you are comfortable whilst making the best of the view and enjoying romantic evenings watching the stunning sunsets.

We supply the linen and towels, a fully equipped kitchen and pantry essentials as well. We want our guests to feel like they have the comforts of home so you can just relax and enjoy yourself.

The Wheelhouse offers 2 car parking spaces right out the front of the apartment and room on the grass directly beside the apartment to park a boat.

There are picnic tables, a lakeside beach and a lovely grassy park directly across the road, perfect for a waterfront picnic or paddle.

When home, the owners live on the second storey, however concrete flooring, double bricks and a considerate, friendly demeanour minimises any noise.

The Wheelhouse is fully self contained and our aim is for you to feel that you have all you need.

We are flexible and available for guests as required. Our preference is to always welcome our guests in person on arrival. If we’re not available to meet you in person, a self checkin welcome pack will be provided for your comfort. In any case, we’re always contactable via phone, text & email at any time.

The neighbourhood of Marine Parade, Lakes Entrance is waterside, tranquil, and close to many attractions and amenities. You can paddle board, kayak or launch your boat from across the road or at one of the other boat ramps along Marine Parade. You can set up a picnic on the grass or on the lakeside beach literally a stone’s throw from your front door and settle in to experience all that Lakes Entrance has to offer.

There’s a walking / running / cycling path across the road that meanders its way right around the town, up Jemmy’s Point and back along the lake if you’re keen. There are hire boats located all along Marine Parade and there’s waterskiing, fishing, relaxing and lovely views right at your doorstep.

Bullock Island is at the western end of the street and you can set yourself up there for an early morning coffee and watch the dolphins play in the channel or witness the most spectacular sunsets and see the sun melt into the lake as the waters of Bass Strait and the Gippsland Lakes system meander their way through the entrance.

The Wheelhouse is situated in an idyllic location where you’ll be able to leave your car and walk to just about every attraction in town.

Getting around is easy - The Wheelhouse is central, so many places and shops are an easy walk. Car, bike, taxi, bus or boat too - there’s a bus stop out the front, boat ramps cross the road and along Marine Parade, taxi rank nearby and car parking spaces on-site. There’s room on the grass beside the apartment to park a boat, too.

As with many properties on Marine Parade, the front of The Wheelhouse is unfenced so supervision of children is important.

We ask that guests not cook or eat crabs (xiè, 蟹) inside, however we can provide an outdoor cooking facility for use if requested and there is also ample outdoor seating within the vicinity of the apartment.
Guests are to ensure the apartment is left tidy and that the dishes are washed.

We have a tremendous rural environment with many bird songs; very peaceful and a great place to refresh. Many people like the mud brick and private courtyard area. We have a small kitchen area under the eaves with a sink and double hot plate; inside, there is a microwave, kettle, double hot plate, and toaster. We also have an electric barbecue for your use. The very private apartment is part of the main dwelling but is separate. We have a pioneer water tank with a silver embedded anti-microbial tank liner which means we have pristine and healthy water.

You'll have full and private access to two comfortable guest bedrooms, with a queen-size bed in one room and two single king-size beds in the other. With peaceful views, a small living area, a kitchenette, and a bathroom.

Downstairs, the second and third bedrooms feature a queen bed and a single bed, respectively. A full bathroom with a toilet serves these rooms. The downstairs bedroom has its own heating, and all beds are fitted with electric blankets for extra comfort.

We provide fresh bed linen and towels for your stay, along with extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobes. If you prefer a linen change during your stay, kindly bring your own. Please also bring your own beach towels.

The cozy living area includes a 3-seater recliner lounge, a smart TV-LG, CD player, and a Bluetooth-enabled record player to connect your iPhone for music. The extendable 6-seater dining table offers stunning views, making every meal a pleasure. Wi-Fi and Netflix are available for your entertainment.

The fully stocked kitchen includes all crockery and cutlery, plus a full-size refrigerator, 4-burner stove, convection microwave, glass oven, rice cooker, and essential cooking supplies (spices, salt, pepper, and oil) for your first few days.

Complimentary toiletries, laundry detergent, coffee, tea, and milk are provided for the first two days. A small hairdryer, iron, and ironing board are also available for your convenience.

For outdoor adventures, a picnic basket with a rug and disposable utensils is stored above the laundry—please kindly replace contents if used. You’ll also find National Geographic magazines and storybooks in the downstairs double bedroom.

Designed for comfort, the villa features grey blackout drapes and window screens to let in refreshing sea breezes, with some tinted windows for privacy. The living area has a remote-controlled air conditioner for heating and cooling, and Two main bedrooms has Dyson Cooler heater airpurifiers, sigle bedroom has heater and a fan.

Step outside onto the spacious, fully undercover deck with privacy screens, a 6-seater table, cushioned chairs (stored above the laundry), and an outdoor power point—perfect for relaxing in peace.

Additional amenities include a washing machine, clothes rack, and laundry basket. Main bedroom bed draws holds first aid supplies, batteries, cleaning materials, and small tools for minor needs during your stay.

The villa is yours to enjoy, along with access to the park’s shared facilities including the pool, games room (with table tennis), BBQ areas, and children’s playground.

🚗 Parking:
Only one car park is available next to the house. Please park in the designated concrete area to the left of the villa, between the children’s park and the house (see photo). Parking elsewhere or incorrectly may incur a $25 fine. Additional vehicles can use the common car park just 50 meters away or speak to the management to aggange on extra cost.

🧺 Laundry:
Guests may use the common laundry facilities, which have extra washers and dryers for a small charge.

🚴‍♂️ Children:
Kids are welcome to ride bikes in the park, but must follow safety rules. No electric bikes allowed to ride inside the park.

Our peaceful property is a quaint self contained unit which is separate from the main house and has bush views.

Please note that we have recently changed our house rules and for safety and suitability reasons we no longer accept bookings with children. We also cannot accommodate pets.

Please note that WiFi connection is poor inside the unit but ok on covered deck.

No charging of EV permitted but there are two stations in town that we can ferry you too if we are available.

The space
Welcome to Lakes Entrance and our little piece of paradise. We love meeting new people and having you stay with us while you take a breather from traveling or city life.

Our quirky B and B built of colourbond insulated steel, like our house, and is a peaceful and self contained space very private from the main house and completely self contained. It is decorated to a high spec inside with homely touches and comes with free WiFi (albeit not strong connection inside but ok on covered deck),a comfy bed with pillowtop mattress, large verandah/deck for bird and wildlife watching, own bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and washing machine and full kitchen with everything you need including condiments. Our space is heated and cooled with a reverse cycle air conditioner and this gorgeous accommodation (well most people seem to think so) is all on one level with no stairs and is wheel chair and walking stick friendly. Please note though that the bathroom is not very large and some wheelchairs may not fit.

We love people from all nationalities visiting us and it's what enriches our lives. We love to get to know you all, especially those who understand the ethos of Airbnb (that this is our home and we delight in sharing it with you).

We have a great ocean view from the front of the property (your unit has bush views), are very friendly, though know you like your own privacy, and have a lot of local knowledge to ensure your stay with us is as interesting as possible. Just ask and if we can help, we will.

The accommodation is separate and away from the house, ensuring you have peace and quiet (although we can't guarantee the birds won't wake you). Lakes Entrance is a seaside resort that is fairly quiet but comes alive in Summer and Easter.

We have the train and bus that comes to Lakes Entrance and we can pick you up from the bus stop. Please let us know it's no problem.

Provisions for a continental breakfast are provided including eggs from our own chickens (if they are laying!), juice, yogurt, granola, toast and jams and full cream local milk (if you require other varieties please supply your own).

There are lots of attractions in the area, boating, fishing and much more. We are 3-4 hours east from Melbourne and look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Most things are provided such as linen, towels (including beach towels if required), cutlery, crockery, coffee, tea, and lots of little extras or pick your own herbs and vegetables (seasonal) from the garden.

While the unit is really for 1-2 adults - 1 queen bed, there is a double couch that might be suitable for two friends traveling together.

Check out is 10 am or flexible especially if we have no one else coming but please ask us beforehand and consider that we do have to clean the room at some stage for our next guests. Check in is after 2pm (latest 9.00 pm).

Access to the 90 Mile Beach is just a hop, skip and a jump over the road on the iconic footbridge. Cunningham Arm, part of the Gippsland Lakes is a safe and ideal spot for paddle boarding, fishing, water skiing and swimming. Make sure you keep your eyes open to see the resident Burrunan Dolphins and seals. Once you exit your vehicle you won't need it again until you regrettably have to say goodbye. Free onsite parking there is also boat parking available by prior request
