- "Exceeded expectations. A wonderful home and beautiful surroundings. Warm, inviting and completely happy with all provisions. The warmth of the wood fire and the amazing view made this stay unforgettable. A great home for relaxation and exploring the surroundings. Thank you and hopefully we will be back. Renate" - "We hosted a special birthday weekend here as a base for hiking Wilson's Prom. What a delightful and enchanting property with everything you need for a great stay. We absolutely loved the stained glass, vintage decor and fireplace during what was the coldest weekend for 3 years! Despite the wet weather, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it gave us plenty of time for boardgames by the fire. The rooms are clean, comfy and warm. Kitchen is well-equipped. Plenty of room for lovely dining at home experiences and although we didn't use the outdoor seating area due to the rain, it was still lovely to walk around and enjoy the garden with the magnificent views. Kate is excellent to communicate with. We absolutely enjoyed our stay! Thank you for having us."

Located 15 minutes from the beautiful township of Foster, just 10 minutes from the gates of Wilson's Promontory (which now has free entry), and even closer to the magnificent beaches of Waratah Bay and Sandy Point (both less than 10 minutes by car), Quintana makes an excellent base for a holiday exploring South Gippsland.

Quintana has been custom designed with three families holidaying together in mind, although the layout would suit most large groups. The house sleeps 16 people comfortably with six bedrooms, including 3 with queen beds, and 3 "bunk" rooms (sleeping 3, 4 and 5), and a large bathroom and separate ensuite. Also a number of features to keep children happy, including a safely landscaped outdoor area with plenty of room to run (the block is 1.5 acres, fully fenced), a small basketball court (bring your ball) and a big screen smart TV.

A more recent addition is a schmick new woodfire to keep you toasty on those cold Gippsland nights! Firewood is provided... just bring some kindling.

Sorry, no pets.

Not suitable for bachelor/hens parties or schoolies.

Guest information

For this reason, we've tried to keep the pricing inclusive and simple, and the pricing calculated by the Stayz website is always correct, but to summarise.....

Weeknights: $500/night

Weekends (Fri/Sat nights): $600/night

Peak periods (Victorian school holidays/public holiday weekends): $650/night

These prices include the full capacity of the house (up to 18 guests), but you will need to bring linen. Each bed has a pillow, mattress and pillow protectors, a doona and blanket, so just bring your own sheets/doona covers/pillow cases and towels.

We have a 100,000 litre water tank with the latest in pump and filter technology, so the water is fully filtered and pristine at every tap in the house.

The house is well stocked with all the kitchen necessities for cooking for a crowd, including a 1 1/2 oven, two dishwashers and a large BBQ along with lots of bench space and a "crowd-friendly" kitchen design. There is a slow cooker, rice cooker, food processor, stick blender, 2 sandwich-presses and lots of servingware.

We hope all of these features will add to the enjoyment of your stay.

Frequently asked questions

The nearest shop is the Sandy Point General Store which is about 10 minutes away, and fine for some bread and milk. Foster is a more substantial town with 2 supermarkets and is about 15 minutes away. Many guests do their big shop in Leongatha on the way down where there is a choice of Coles, Woolworths and IGA.

Guest Reviews:

- "The property was perfect for our extended family of 15 to stay. Grandparents, parents and grandchildren. The house was perfectly clean inside and well appointed for holiday home. The large grounds had the grass freshly cut so looked great. The outside of house was a bit tired and could do with a fresh coat of paint. There is a very effective fireplace and external fire pit, but they dont provide enough firewood (one nights worth), which is annoying as you have to buy bags locally at exorbitant prices. However it was perfect for us and have rebooked for next year."

- "Booking went seamlessly. Accomodation was as described on booking site sharing a completely separate part of the house with our host Pauline. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. A beautiful breakfast was served in a north facing conservatory with a fantastic view over the rolling hills. Pauline was also very knowledgeable as to places to eat and things to see in the area. Thanks for a very enjoyable weekend. ," - "If you want a relaxing break, away from city life, this is the place for you. Pauline is wonderful with communication throughout the entire stay. The rooms are charming but what is breathtaking is sitting in the white chairs provided out the back overlooking the farms, fields and hills having a glass of wine. Another outstanding feature of our stay was the spectacular breakfast each morning. They were the best meals we had on our mini-break. Thank you Pauline and Ivan, we loved your property and welcoming nature. Regards Tiffany"

The space around the bungalow is used by our horses to move about, but we are always aware of maintaining your privacy where possible.

Feel free to respectfully use the space around the bungalow and share a moment with our horses.

You are working on country time now and most shops close early so we advise you stop at one of the general stores or supermarkets in Fish Creek or Foster on your way here or while out and about.

Amenities in your kitchenette include a coffee maker (pod) toaster, kettle, microwave, pancake maker/toaster, bar fridge, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, knives, Chopping boards and serving dishes. If you ask nicely Tim can share with you where he sources, and how he prepares the 'Perfect' local grown, grass fed, Rib Eye...YUM

Please note, due to the nature of our business pets and young children will need to be supervised around our horses as they are very friendly. We ask that you only interact with our horses from outside their paddock (over the fence) as they run in a herd and can be overwhelmingly curious.

We are approximately 4.5kms to Fish Creek, 7kms to Foster, 15kms to Yanakie, 41kms to Tidal River. Roll down the hill to Fish Creek or Foster along the Great Southern Rail Trail.

Bugs crawling all over us all night, filthy bathroom, shipping container too hot and the ‘futon’ definitely does not fold out to a bed. Not appropriate for a third person to sleep on. The cost does not equate to the level of accommodation - a tent would have provided better protection from bugs and heat."

Guest Reviews:

- "Our expectation was that this would be a quaint stay just outside Wilson’s Prom where we could relax and recharge. However, when we arrived at the farm we were a bit underwhelmed as it had old cars and junk around the property and minimal animals. There were at lease 5 cabins/yurts across the driveway and most of them shared a bathroom. The farm view cabin thankfully did have a kitchenette and private bathroom as well as A/C. However it lacked a few basics like sofa pillows instead of sleeping pillows on the bed and no towels upon arrival. We also unfortunately found a huntsman spider on the wall and later realized a window in one of the bedrooms had been left open by the owners. This overall made our stay less than relaxing. The positives were definitely that it was a quick drive into the park and had the basics. But I would not spend this much on a stay like this in the future."

Buffalo 3958 Summary:
House
Main Street 28, Buffalo, 3958

Summary:
Situated in the heart of South Gippsland’s rolling green hills on the Great Southern rail trail in a peaceful and private location is Buffalo 3958. A perfect farm stay Victoria getaway for fitness enthusiasts who like to take advantage of Prom Country. Where you can bring your bike, a horse to ride or a walk along the trail. We have a fully fenced horse paddock with dam and water troughs available.

If laidback feel is what you are after at, you may relax and enjoy for what nature has to offer.

The Space:
Buffalo 3958 is the ideal farm stay Victoria escape in Buffalo nearby Wilsons Promontory and Fish Creek Gippsland. A comfortable stay complete with a well-equipped kitchenette, air-conditioning and heating, a queen sized bed up in the loft, a sofa bed on the ground floor, which can be converted to a single bed size. It can sleep 2 adults (in the loft) and 1 child (on the sofa bed) comfortably.

The kitchenette has everything you need to cook your light meals with. A portable cooker, cookware, cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes & silverware, microwave and even a mini fridge. The portable cooker can be kept in the drawers when not in use to maximize space.

Our bathroom facilities follow ecologically sustainable principles, including a water less eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers). In Australia's severe climatic challenge of bush fires and drought, we help to save the environment by conserving water using an eco-friendly toilet. It is a water less system (no need to flush!), whereas a standard dual flush toilet would use up to 350L of water per week. An aeration fan helps in the decomposition process and minimizes odors.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings including dual access driveway, parking allocated to the tiny house, and the outdoor shower. Guests are not allowed to wander around the host's private residence.

The Neighborhood:
We are located in a quiet rural neighborhood, You will feel the country vibe and hear sounds of bird life and farm animals around. You will also see the rolling green hills, Eucalyptus, and native wildlife.

The Old Dairy, Fish Creek
House
Gippsland

The Old Dairy is a relaxed and comfortable place to return to after a day exploring South Gippsland and the beautiful Wilsons Prom. There is nothing too fancy here, it has simple charms and is spacious, homely and full of plants, we are sure you'll like it!

The space
On entering The Old Dairy a large hallway provides ample space for muddy boots or sandy shoes. A sideboard stores spare blankets, a picnic rug, hot water bottles and local tourist information and maps.

There is one large bedroom with a queen size bed and plenty of space for a cot. In the main living space there is a single daybed to sleep a third person, we can also supply a camping mattress should the third person prefer to sleep in the bedroom. All bedding is supplied.
We also have a travel cot but you would need to bring your own bedding.

The spacious open plan living space is comprised of a comfortable lounge area, a separate day-bed, a large dining table and a well equipped kitchen.
There is a wood fire with a plentiful supply of firewood and kindling; a selection of books, magazines and board games; free wi-fi and a bluetooth speaker.

The kitchen is equipped with an oven, a small fridge, a microwave, a kettle, 2 stovetop coffee pots and a toaster. There is a large selection of pots, pans, crockery and utensils. We also supply freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas; a range of basic dried goods (rice, pasta, beans and cereals) and - depending on availability - fresh eggs and fresh vegetables from our garden.

The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower (no bath, sadly). Towels, face washers and soap are supplied.

The Old Dairy yard is equipped with a bbq, picnic table, deckchairs, and a fire-pit. The paddock has large established trees (often home to our visiting koalas) and a young orchard. We are currently in the process of re-vegetating the nature strip running alongside the paddock, in the coming years this will provide more shade and privacy and flora for the wildlife, planting in the paddock will provide botanical shady retreats and secluded picnic spots.

There is a carport for one car and plenty of space for more.

Strictly no pets allowed.

My husband Mike, myself (Helen) and our two sons are very excited to be sharing our little Old Dairy, we lived here for 3 months when we moved to Fish Creek 5 years ago, then it was in a very sorry state. The surrounding paddock was waist high with grass and surrounded by huge pine trees. We've enjoyed re-vegetating the land, planting new trees, adding a veggie garden and giving the land a new-life. We hope you like the dairy as much as we do!

Guest access
Guests have sole access to the Old Dairy and the Dairy Yard and shared access to the paddock at the rear of the yard.

Amenities:
