For long-term stays (more than 30 days) cleaning fee is $85 but I collect an administrative fee of $415 to cover additional cleaning. I have had too many long term vacationers not clean during their stay and I pay a lot of extra fees when that happens. You are expected to keep up with cleaning, remove trash, clean dishes, counters, wash linens, vacuum, etc. You know, like a responsible adult. If you leave the property in a clean condition and I don't incur extra cleaning fees, the Administrative Fee will be refunded.

This warm and inviting main level condo has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (bathroom adjoins the bedroom so you cut through bedroom to get to bathroom), living room, breakfast bar and eat in kitchen. It is fully furnished with 50" HD TV with Dish Network, Internet Access (25MB), fenced patio with BBQ, pots and pans, dishes, etc. Granite counters in Kitchen and Bathroom. Space saver microwave, dishwasher, electric range. Queen sized bed (IKEA 4 drawer under dresser) with comfy mattress, Full Sized Sofa Sleeper with upgraded IKEA memory foam mattress in living room. The building is smoke free but smoking is OK on the outside patio. We've added heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom to take away the winter chill! This is a nice condo. Perfect for a couple, small family or close friends looking to get away for some skiing or wonderful summer activities in Park County and Fairplay or in Summit County. There is a coin op laundry in the basement of the condo building. This is a great log home in a beautiful location. NO CLEANING FEES. Located 4 miles south of Fairplay in a gated community, Warm Springs Ranch, that borders National Forest land. This property is a Convenant Controlled Community which is a Gated Community. Due to drought conditions in the West, Fires Will Not Be Permitted. You are liable to see elk, antelope, deer just outside the entrance to this area. At night, the stars seem to jump out at you and views of beautiful mountains abound. The changing seasons brings surprises of beautiful aspen and great snow, while you are cozy in the cabin with a welcoming propane stove and all the amenities of home. All roads are well maintained but four wheel drive is required in the winter months. Skiing in major ski areas can be found at Breckenridge (29 miles), Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Monarch, Loveland and others. There is some thing for everyone and stocked fishing ponds located within the subdivision with no fishing license required. Lovely Rec Center in Fairplay.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms - one rather large loft concept upstairs and one downstairs both with baths. Main floor has the kitchen/dining and living area with plenty of natural light. Lovely front porch which allows one to sit on and admire the scenery or eat outside on a large wooden picnic table.

A quick 15-minute drive from the town of Fairplay. Once you turn into the community you will need to drive roughly about 5 miles to the house. For the first mile, there is paved road, following that is an easy 4 miles drive on grated dirt roads. During the winter months, there is a plow for the main road. Although this is the case, it is still recommended that you have AWD or a 4x4 vehicle as the snow can accumulate quite high at time.

The driveway is plowed and maintained in the event of snow. So there should be no problem parking on the driveway.

With nothing but trees surrounding you for miles, this quaint mountain home is the perfect escape for a relaxing getaway. Spend your days exploring the great outdoors before returning to recharge in this peaceful home. As you step inside you will find a rustic and warm style throughout the space with the perfect mix of mountain cabin charm. The home has recently been remodeled with brand new systems such as hot water heater, a septic system, and new windows, and boasts great Wifi so you can easily stay connected while in the mountains.

To reach the front door of the home you will first have to climb the 9 steps up to the front porch. Next to the front door, you will find a charming bistro patio set providing the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your morning coffee in the summer months. As you enter the home through the front door you will first arrive in the open living room/dining room/kitchen. The open and social layout makes it easy to stay connected with loved ones during your visit. To the left of the door, you will find the cozy living room with one large sofa and a loveseat providing ample space for you to sit down and relax. Tucked in the corner of the living room is a fireplace perfect for keeping warm on those chilly winter nights. A bright rug, two lamps, and two large windows add a cozy charm to the room. The living room also includes a TV, a variety of DVDs, board games, and puzzles so you can easily enjoy a family movie night or an evening of some friendly competition over a game of checkers.

To the right of the front door is the dining room where you will find a dining table with seating for 6. Adjacent to the dining room is the open kitchen making it easy to bring your warm dishes right from the kitchen to the table. The kitchen boasts all the equipment you will need to prepare a meal for your group including items such as a crockpot and baking sheets. The spacious counters and cabinet space will provide plenty of room for you to meal prep and store your food items during your trip.

A hallway located just off the living room/kitchen will take you to the home’s two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a laundry room. Directly across from the kitchen, you will come to the home’s first bedroom, a cozy space with a queen-size bed, a nightstand with a lamp, and a closet. Next to this bedroom at the end of the hallway, you will find the second bedroom. This room is a larger space with a queen-size bed, nightstands with lamps on each side, and a large closet. Two bright windows provide views over the surrounding trees so you can wake up and enjoy the view from the comfort of bed. On the opposite side of the hallway, you will find the home’s full bathroom. The bathroom features a single-sink vanity with under-the-sink storage space and a bathtub/shower combo. Next to the bathroom is a laundry room with a full-size washing and dryer making it easy to take care of any laundry needs during your stay.

At the end of the hallway, you will find a door that will take you out to the back deck of the home. As soon as you step outside you will be greeted by the tranquil setting that is all around the home. The deck includes a picnic table and a bbq so you can enjoy dinner outside while taking in the peaceful surroundings of nothing but trees.

This home is located in beautiful Alma, a quaint mountain town full of history, charm, and an abundance of outdoor adventures. Alma is known as being the highest incorporated town in North America sitting at 10,361 ft! The area is a gateway to endless outdoor adventures with several 14ers in close proximity. While in the area head over to one of the other historic mining towns such as FairPlay that is just five minutes away where you can enjoy the charming downtown area. Or, enjoy a drive over the 10 miles on Mosquito Pass, one of Colorado’s highest mountain passes that provides stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. Enjoy a day out hiking one of the many nearby trails such as Beaver Creek Trail, Pika Trail, or Pennsylvania Mountain Trailhead. In the summer months enjoy a day at the beautiful Lake Criterion or go fishing at Montgomery Reservoir. Breckenridge is just a 30-minute drive away where you can hit the ski slopes at Breckenridge Ski Resort or stroll Main Street and explore the many shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums there.

Getting Around:
This home is located just one mile off Highway 9 - the main highway in the area that runs from Alma and Fairplay up to Blue River and Breckenridge to the north. Its close proximity to this major highway and Highway 285 makes it easy to get on the road wherever your adventures take you. This area is known for its proximity to many of the area’s wonderful outdoor adventure locations such as Breckenridge Ski Resort and several 14ers such as Mount Quandary and Mount Cross. An added bonus of the home's location at the base of the mountain, you don't have to worry about driving up snowy hills in the wintertime.

The Summit Stage Free Bus' Park County Commuter Route stops in both Fairplay and Alma and will provide FREE transport all the way into Breckenridge.

It is also joined with the dining room and table that seats 6. It has a nice size kitchen with a fridge, gas stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and Keurig. The front patio has an amazing view of the sunrise and sunset along with amazing stargazing opportunities. It is in the middle of a national forest access way which provides walking paths that go in many different directions around the property. It sits on 1.6 acres of land so you will have some privacy space away from your neighbors. There is onsite parking with a driveway as well. We have a T.V. with Dish Satellite in the main living room as well as in 1 of the bedrooms. There are also a ton of games and dvd's to keep you entertained.

- "We wanted a little getaway during a holiday weekend and this home was exactly what we were looking for. The space is very cozy and comfortable with a large, open living area. The bedrooms and bathroom were also roomy but separated from the living space, so it felt private. The location of the home offers a full view of open space with lots of trees. It felt very quaint. There are so many windows so you really get a view while inside too. Kevin and Vanessa were both thoughtful and kind hosts. They go above and beyond for their guests and it helped make the space feel even more like a ‘home away from home’. - "We had a great stay in Fairplay! The space was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. Everything you need is readily available. We were able to easily drive into Breckenridge, Copper, and Keystone for day trips. I would note the queen bed in the non-bunk room is more firm and it was extremely windy while we were there - but that's more of an FYI, not anything against the property. " - "This place is awesome! The kitchen had everything we could have possibly needed, the bathroom was well stocked and the living room had a great selection of DVDs to choose from. I was particularly pleased to find the gem, Pay it Forward as that was one of my favorite films from the early 2000's. We really appreciated the cabin being pet-friendly as well and our dog had a blast exploring the area. You're pretty immersed in the local wildlife here and the view from this place is truly amazing. We were even lucky enough to see a moose just feet from the kitchen window one night. Even though this cabin is in a gated community, it's still very private and perfect for a nice little getaway from the city. As a note to future guests: bring some long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts, even in the summer, as it did get pretty chilly and windy at night. But I guess that's to be expected at nearly 10,000 feet. Thank you to the homeowners for sharing your lovely home with us, we would love to come back again!"

If you're not in the mood for TV, flip on some tunes on the record player or connect your own music via the Sonos speaker and dance the night away! If you are wanting to re-live your childhood, pull out the Super Nintendo Class Edition with over 100 games to choose from! While the cabin doesn’t have cable, the Smart TV has all the apps for you to login and stream your favorite apps! The electric fireplace adds to the ambiance, creating the perfect setting for an ideal evening in!

Up the spiral staircase, the main bedroom features a queen-sized Casper bed for restful nights, while the second bedroom has a twin bed and a dedicated workspace with Starlink WiFi—perfect for remote work or streaming. The spiral staircase leading to the upper floor adds charm but may not suit small children or larger luggage.

Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, exploring what Park and Summit counties have to offer, skiing at nearby world class resorts while avoiding I-70 traffic, or simply wanting an escape from the everyday hustle (and/or heat!) in our Hilltop A-Frame, we can't wait to host you!

Important cabin information for a wonderful stay:

Temperature: Our A-frame cabin doesn't have air conditioning. Daytime temps hover around 70-75F° in summer, dropping to 42-50°F at night which will cool things off. We do have portable fans (Dyson on main floor and Lesko in each bedroom). These are also heaters and n addition to the baseboard & wall heaters.

Staircase: Embrace the unique charm of our spiral staircase leading to the upper rooms. Larger checked luggage might face challenges on these snug stairs. The staircase is not recommended for small children either.

Bugs: We have our home professionally managed to control pests. However, on a rare occasion, we have insects make it past the barriers set by the pest control into the cabin. If you are extremely bothered by bugs, definitely reconsider booking any remote cabin in Colorado (but check out our other rentals!).

Mud Season & Winter Driving: Early spring runoff may make our road muddy. Accessible year-round, our cabin recommends AWD/4WD with good tire tread in snowy months (Nov-Apr).

Outdoor Fires: Due to wildfires, please refrain from using any ember-producing equipment.

Water Source: Enjoy safe drinking water from our 283ft deep well. Conserve water to avoid potential well dryness. Hot water tank provides 10-15 min hot showers, reheating quickly.

Altitude: At 9,500 feet above sea level, stay hydrated.

- "Mike was an excellent host. The welcome guide was everything I needed to know as a guest. The backyard was perfect for my two big pups however, they did get out of the fence chasing geese. When I reached out to Mike about it he instantly went into search mode and helped me reunite with my pups. The stay was nice and cozy, the cabin was well equipped with all the essentials and then some. Plenty of trails near by for the avid hiker and explorer. This stay will become a yearly staple for me. Live large and enjoy this new, modern home on four acres with expansive, panoramic views! Huge deck with views in all directions.

The property is about 20 minutes out of the town of Fairplay in a community knows as Redhill Forest which is about 9900 ft above sea level. :). The grocery story is about 20-25 minutes away so some say it’s a bit remote.

If you want to stay busy and don’t want to stay and hike around the house and neighborhood, check out surrounding larger towns to raft, hike, skiing, fly fish, etc. There is plenty to do around Fairplay.

Breckenridge is about a 40 minute drive just over Hoosier Pass, with world class skiing and restaurants. Buena Vista is a little over an hour where you’ll find fabulous rafting in summertime, shopping and more wonderful restaurants.

The house has two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, island in kitchen, huge finished basement with some games such as paddle sports, horseshoes and washers. There is also a loft with fold out bed and telescope.

Large Gas stove in living room operated with a remote, propane fire pit and heater on deck. House has forced heat throughout. Both bathrooms have heated floors.

We are telling the truth when we say, there is a view from every room! There are no sun shades so the sun comes beaming in, in the mornings.

This property is the perfect place if you are looking to relax in peace and quiet with beauty all around and within driving distance to other towns to enjoy eating, rafting, skiing, hiking, shopping, sightseeing.

- "My girlfriend and I stayed at the Elf Haus for a week to work remote and enjoy the mountains of Colorado in the summer. We were NOT disappointed. The house was immaculate and beautiful. They've thought of so many little details that I didn't know existed. The wifi worked great, the kitchen works for what you need, the coffee/espresso machine and entire coffee bar was so nice! The beds were comfortable, we worked on the deck in the mornings with coffee. There's beautiful hiking trails just up the road. Speaking of the road to the house, it's not particularly steep or worrisome in the summer; however, the washboarding of it (ripples) at times can creates a bumpy ride. 10000x worth the journey but be prepared for the car to rattle a little. Would 10/10 go back to this house and plan to again. We absolutely loved it."

This private home, within the Warm Springs Ranch gated community, abuts thousands of acres of National Forest and BLM land. You'll be driving up gravel and dirt roads, higher and higher, for about a mile to reach our comfy home at close to10,000 feet in elevation! Experience breathtaking panoramic mountain and valley views while sitting in the comfort of the living/dining/kitchen combo room, or outside on the wrap around deck, or sitting beside the outdoor fire pit. Finish your day of hiking, fishing or skiing with star gazing from this spectacular property. The solitude is soothing - no highway noise, no airport noise, just quiet.

Our home sits on a one acre lot within the Warm Springs Ranch community. Wild game (deer, elk, and moose mostly, but there have also been reports of bear and mountain lion) regularly roam the Ranch and, because there are no fences dividing the properties, sometimes they roam right onto our lot. Be vigilant of your kiddos! There are designated hiking trails within the Ranch, as well as five private fishing ponds stocked with rainbow trout. Bring your rods and reels!

There is a propane fire pit in the backyard to enjoy. The wood burning fire pit is strictly off limits per Park County fire ban. Please do not burn wood outside.

There is a small grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided) on the ground level patio. Cook your favorite steak or grill the fish you've just pulled out of the ponds while enjoying the view.

Warm Springs Ranch is a Covenant Controlled Community about 4 miles south of the town of Fairplay, Colorado.
