Whimsical Hollow is a darling full log cabin that is nestled among some of the highest mountain peaks in Colorado. The views are absolutely amazing and the home is surrounded by spruce and pine trees. It is a serene and very romantic location. The home has all new furniture and amenities of the highest quality.

The romantic living room has a wood burning fireplace for cozy nights around the fire (you may want to bring extra wood!). There is a dining room with a table that seats 4 and a fully equipped kitchen. There is additional seating at the kitchen bar also. You will find everything you need to make your family chef happy.

There is a bedroom with a king size bed on the main floor. It has beautiful mountain decor and furnishings. It is next to the full bath which has a walk-in shower. The decorations throughout the home are exquisite. Everything reflects the cozy romantic atmosphere of a luxury mountain cabin. Upstairs there is a second spacious bedroom which also has a king size bed. It too has new furniture, linens and amenities. You will love the views from the bed. You can look right out of the two story windows and see the beautiful white capped mountains. What a way to wake up!

The property is on a dead end road with very few properties. It is not a busy and crowded location. You will most likely not see anyone during your stay except an occasional visitor such as a moose or fox. There are also deer and bears in the area. If you watch closely you may even see some elk. The front porch runs the length of the front of the house and has comfortable seating where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee and take in the gorgeous mountain views. There is a gas grill provided behind the home.

The area is know for it's unlimited outdoor activities. Almost anything you can think of is within minutes of the home. You can hike and explore the National Forest right behind the home. There is a road just above the location of the home that you can hike to the end of and be right in the National Forest. Many of the famous 14'ers are located in this area where you can hike or climb. Horseback riding is just a few minutes from the home at the Platte River Ranch. They have hay rides, hour long rides, and even evening steak rides. If you like white-water rafting, the Arkansas River is only a few miles away. You can raft at Buena Vista. They have a variety of trips from safe photo floats to wild rapid trips. ATVing is also great in the area. There are multiple locations where you can ATV. One Trail over Mosquito Pass takes you right into Leadville where you can enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants in the restored mining town. This is a fabulous place to shop for antiques too!

Our adventurous spirits lead us to purchase our cozy log cabin in 2015. This is a place to get away and unplug from the noise of the city, recharge and be rejuvenated by the awesome surroundings. (It is only a 95 minute drive from southwest Denver on 285. We avoid the crazy I-70 traffic and congestion). Through our front window, we have the spectacular view of Mt. Sherman, which is a 14"er". Enjoying a cup of coffee from our welcoming and relaxing porch and watching the sunrise burst above Mt. Sherman is a wonderful way to greet the day.

This beautiful area and our cozy log cabin are just too special not to share. The fellowship of family and friends is what has inspired us to open our home and hearth. This is a great log home in a beautiful location. NO CLEANING FEES. Located 4 miles south of Fairplay in a gated community, Warm Springs Ranch, that borders National Forest land. This property is a Convenant Controlled Community which is a Gated Community. Due to drought conditions in the West, Fires Will Not Be Permitted. You are liable to see elk, antelope, deer just outside the entrance to this area. At night, the stars seem to jump out at you and views of beautiful mountains abound. The changing seasons brings surprises of beautiful aspen and great snow, while you are cozy in the cabin with a welcoming propane stove and all the amenities of home. All roads are well maintained but four wheel drive is required in the winter months. Skiing in major ski areas can be found at Breckenridge (29 miles), Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Monarch, Loveland and others. There is some thing for everyone and stocked fishing ponds located within the subdivision with no fishing license required. Lovely Rec Center in Fairplay.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms - one rather large loft concept upstairs and one downstairs both with baths. Main floor has the kitchen/dining and living area with plenty of natural light. Lovely front porch which allows one to sit on and admire the scenery or eat outside on a large wooden picnic table.

Aspen Acres is an adorable cabin nestled in the woods south of Breckenridge in Park County. The location is perfect for skiing and boarding in Breckenridge, ATV-ing, hiking, or just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful solitude. The great room and kitchen were just renovated in early 2023!

The home has 2 bedrooms and one bath. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a Queen Bed with a set of bunk beds.. There is a bath with a shower/tub combo. The bath also has a washer and a dryer. There are two family rooms. The upstairs has two comfortable sofas and a television with satellite programming as well as a DVD player, so bring along your favorite movies. The main floor has a cozy wood stove that adds to the charm of the home and seating area to relax and chat. The floor to ceiling windows give you a fantastic view of the mountains.. The kitchen is well equipped with all dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. You will have everything you need. There is a dining table for 6 and extra room at the counter if needed.

The home has a large deck on the back of the house with great views. In the summer and fall months, there is a picnic area with table and lounging chairs nestled in the aspens. As a bonus, there is a shed that can be used for guest storage (e.g. skis, etc.)

Breckenridge is only 25 miles from the home. Other Aspen Acres ski venues (Copper Mtn Keystone, Vail, Monarch, Ski Cooper) are roughly 40 miles from the home. Other winter activities nearby include cross country skiing, snowmobiling. During the summer, there's white water rafting, hiking, ATV trails, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping. You can relax and just enjoy the natural beauty or head out to the nearby towns/resorts/parks, and enjoy the unlimited winter and summer activities the area has to offer.
In the summer you will be in the center of all activities including old mine ruins, Montgomery Reservoir, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Quandry and many more. Fairplay (just 5 miles away) is the activity center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is often referred to as the Base Camp for all activities some of which include hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, 4-wheeling, ATVing, mine exploring, canoeing, kayaking, and much, much more. Alma is only 5 minutes away and offers dining, shopping, and entrances to some of the most beautiful drives in Colorado such as Kite Lake, Bristlecone Pines, and Mosquito Pass.

Guest access
A quick 15-minute drive from the town of Fairplay. Once you turn into the community you will need to drive roughly about 5 miles to the house. For the first mile, there is paved road, following that is an easy 4 miles drive on grated dirt roads. During the winter months, there is a plow for the main road. Although this is the case, it is still recommended that you have AWD or a 4x4 vehicle as the snow can accumulate quite high at time.

The driveway is plowed and maintained in the event of snow. So there should be no problem parking on the driveway.

I have had nothing but excellent service provided from the host in terms of cleanliness, additional perks of quality hair shampoo, conditioner, and included shower hand towels which are normally not provided by majority other host bookings. Communication with this host has been the best experience especially for incoming first time travelers to Colorado as recomendations have been suggested from activities, high altitude preparations, and assistance locating the cabin."

The space
Location:

Nestled in the picturesque mountain town of Fairplay (home of Historic South Park City), our home is centrally located for almost any mountain adventure. Hiking, fly fishing, ice fishing, horseback riding, ATVing, and skiing (Breckenridge) options are located within 30 minutes. In 45 minutes, you can be in Buena Vista for white water rafting. In about an hour, you can be skiing at Monarch, Cooper, or Keystone, or soaking in the Mount Princeton Hot Springs. Seriously, Fairplay is one of the hidden gems of the high country.

Speaking of the high country, Fairplay sits at nearly 10,000 feet and is the 5th highest incorporated place in Colorado. The sun is strong and the weather is unpredictable, so be sure to pack for a variety of conditions. From October to May, you should plan on driving a high clearance 4WD or AWD vehicle.

The home is located just 5 minutes from the local grocery store and about the same distance from restaurants, bars, and breweries. If you have children, the Fairplay Recreation center is just around the corner, featuring an indoor pool and skate park; there is also a fantastic park near the rec center.

This 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home was designed with comfort in mind. The primary suite features a DreamCloud Queen Bed. The second bedroom features a DreamCloud Full Bed. The living room features a Queen pullout sofa bed by Poly and Bark.

Fitness—The South Park Recreation Center offers an indoor pool, workout equipment, and a skate park, and is located just 5 minutes from the house. Daily rates are available.

Outdoor Space—The backyard features a small deck that gets plenty of warm sunshine. The front porch is covered and features two sitting areas, with views of the majestic Mt. Lincoln.

Kitchen—The fully stocked kitchen features a fridge, range, toaster, crockpot, microwave and dishwasher, along with dishes, pans, utensils, and basic spices, and a fully stocked coffee and tea bar (tea, coffee, sugar, creamer, and honey).

Bathrooms—The primary suite features an ensuite bathroom. There is also a guest bathroom . Plush hotel-quality towels, toilet tissue, and 3-in-1 soap are provided.

Living Space—The great room features a large leather sofa, two barstools, a coffee table, dining table, a dartboard, and a Smart TV.

Laundry and Cleaning—A washer, dryer, laundry detergent, and bleach are available for your use. Other basic cleaning products are also provided, including dish detergent, cleaning wipes, cleaning spray, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

Technology—Keyless entry. Smart TVs (2). Satellite internet (be patient!).

We know that some adventures are not complete without your furry friends. We are happy to host your sweet pups, but we need your help to ensure that we can continue to offer this amenity to future guests. If your pet does not travel well, please make other arrangements.

- "We had a great stay in Fairplay! The space was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. Everything you need is readily available. We were able to easily drive into Breckenridge, Copper, and Keystone for day trips. I would note the queen bed in the non-bunk room is more firm and it was extremely windy while we were there - but that's more of an FYI, not anything against the property. " - "This place is awesome! The kitchen had everything we could have possibly needed, the bathroom was well stocked and the living room had a great selection of DVDs to choose from. I was particularly pleased to find the gem, Pay it Forward as that was one of my favorite films from the early 2000's. We really appreciated the cabin being pet-friendly as well and our dog had a blast exploring the area. You're pretty immersed in the local wildlife here and the view from this place is truly amazing. We were even lucky enough to see a moose just feet from the kitchen window one night. Even though this cabin is in a gated community, it's still very private and perfect for a nice little getaway from the city. As a note to future guests: bring some long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts, even in the summer, as it did get pretty chilly and windy at night. But I guess that's to be expected at nearly 10,000 feet. Thank you to the homeowners for sharing your lovely home with us, we would love to come back again!"

Up the spiral staircase, the main bedroom features a queen-sized Casper bed for restful nights, while the second bedroom has a twin bed and a dedicated workspace with Starlink WiFi—perfect for remote work or streaming. The spiral staircase leading to the upper floor adds charm but may not suit small children or larger luggage.

Important cabin information for a wonderful stay:

Temperature: Our A-frame cabin doesn't have air conditioning. Daytime temps hover around 70-75F° in summer, dropping to 42-50°F at night which will cool things off. We do have portable fans (Dyson on main floor and Lesko in each bedroom). These are also heaters and n addition to the baseboard & wall heaters.

Staircase: Embrace the unique charm of our spiral staircase leading to the upper rooms. Larger checked luggage might face challenges on these snug stairs. The staircase is not recommended for small children either.

Bugs: We have our home professionally managed to control pests. However, on a rare occasion, we have insects make it past the barriers set by the pest control into the cabin. If you are extremely bothered by bugs, definitely reconsider booking any remote cabin in Colorado (but check out our other rentals!).

Mud Season & Winter Driving: Early spring runoff may make our road muddy. Accessible year-round, our cabin recommends AWD/4WD with good tire tread in snowy months (Nov-Apr).

Outdoor Fires: Due to wildfires, please refrain from using any ember-producing equipment.

Water Source: Enjoy safe drinking water from our 283ft deep well. Conserve water to avoid potential well dryness. Hot water tank provides 10-15 min hot showers, reheating quickly.

Altitude: At 9,500 feet above sea level, stay hydrated.

When I reached out to Mike about it he instantly went into search mode and helped me reunite with my pups. - "My girlfriend and I stayed at the Elf Haus for a week to work remote and enjoy the mountains of Colorado in the summer. We were NOT disappointed. The house was immaculate and beautiful. They've thought of so many little details that I didn't know existed. The wifi worked great, the kitchen works for what you need, the coffee/espresso machine and entire coffee bar was so nice! The beds were comfortable, we worked on the deck in the mornings with coffee. There's beautiful hiking trails just up the road. Speaking of the road to the house, it's not particularly steep or worrisome in the summer; however, the washboarding of it (ripples) at times can creates a bumpy ride. 10000x worth the journey but be prepared for the car to rattle a little. Would 10/10 go back to this house and plan to again. We absolutely loved it."

• Have and off-roading vehicle? There are lots of roads to explore in the area that can take you to excellent views, remote locations and even ghost towns.
• Head to Buena Vista and check out the Arkansas River, only 40 minutes away. In the summer this area is a rafting haven between Buena Vista and Salida.

The cabin and the town are not perfect and come with quirky charm like uneven floors, a low ceiling beam, and chilly floors. Town is not polished- in a good way.

The kitchen is fully stocked. Take a look at the photos to get a good idea of what's there. The stove and oven are natural gas!

You will also enjoy a large mudroom/laundry room. Plenty of space to store your gear and hang your wardrobes to keep the bedrooms clutter free.

Want to bring your furry friend? Awesome! Our goal is to provide a space where kids and dogs are welcome. Dogs can have access to the large mudroom, which leads through the doggy door to the 2000 sqft fenced dog run. Enjoy a day on the slopes knowing your dog will be awaiting your return. We ask pets stay in this area when you are out. $75 fee per dog. 50lb limit. You can initially book our cabin for 1 dog. Secluded, well-appointed cabin right on Tarryall Creek, with wifi, more than 5 acres of solitude, and 360-degree mountain views.

This is our dream place to escape, unwind, and listen to the creek. It's remote and quiet, but accessible year-round: 2 hours from DIA, 1.5 hours from downtown Denver, and 50-mins from Breckenridge. Large kitchen (w/ fridge and antique stove), barnwood accents, huge 400sf deck, and historic decor from Como's gold rush. Dogs welcome, too.

The space
Our cabin sits on five acres at 10,600 feet elevation. We're close to Denver, Breckenridge, and Fairplay... but surrounded by so much national forest you could say we perfected social distancing.

Our cabin is just under 1,000sf, but it feels nice and roomy with a large living area and great kitchen. The bedroom is cozy, with a fantastic view of Mt. Little Baldy out the window and the sound of Tarryall Creek when the weather's warm enough to crack the window.

We're off-grid up here. Solar powers the cabin, so you have to watch your energy consumption, especially in winter. But propane heats the water and shower, and provides back-up heat to the cabin itself. (We much prefer the woodstove, which glows hypnotically when lit and provides a nice even heat throughout the cabin). Cell phone service is hard to come by, but we have a landline for emergency and local calls, and you can use WiFi calling to stay connected. You also can get cell signal about 2 miles back down the road.

So far, all of our guests have loved it here. Our cabin has seen engagements and elopements, and many more honeymoons, anniversaries, and birthdays. An album was written here, and a couple books, too. But most of our guests just come up for fun and relaxation.

You have full access to the main part of the cabin, but we ask that you leave the loft alone.

Other things to note
The cabin is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. There's a gas grill, pots, pans, knives, a blender, and most other items. Coffee is French press. It also has firewood (though we recommend you bring a bundle plus newspaper to get the first fire rolling).

After first snow fall, in winter (Oct-Apr), 4 wheel drive is required, and high clearance strongly recommended. The main road is plowed, but wind can create snow drifts at any time.

We allow booking up to 6 months in advance. So if it looks closed to reservations, check the date. It may open up at the 6-month mark.

1920’s log cabin with charming details including a sleeping loft. Walk to coffee shop across the street, local shops, restaurants, and lake. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, a sleeping porch with bunk beds, and a loft with two queen size beds. Fits 4 people comfortably. Ladder to loft is very steep so may not be a good fit for families with very small children. Fairplay is a small western mountain town and can be very quiet. It is located 30 minutes to Breckenridge.

The space
Our guests love staying in a quaint cabin in a small mountain town. If you want more restaurants and shops, Breckenridge is 30 minutes away. There is a rec center in town and a nearby path to the local lake. Fairplay also has one of the most unique museums which opens in the warmer months called South Park City.

We love dogs here in Colorado and your pet is welcome anytime in this unit! However we do have a few rules for your furry friend to follow:
- Please have your pet stay off the furniture.
- Please clean up after your pet. Please bag all waste.
- Please keep the barking and chewing under control
- Please do not leave your pet unattended.
- Please keep all your pets food inside at all times. Lot of wild animals in the area.
- There is a $50 pet cleaning fee. This covers the cost of the extra steps our cleaning crew must take to ensure the unit is sparkling clean for our next guest. Please leave this in cash on the counter before you leave.

The cabin is located within an HOA controlled community and is immediately adjacent to public lands. Situated in a quiet neighborhood with pleasant neighbors, the HOA rules do not allow pets to roam without leashes. However, they are welcome to play freely on the public land just beyond the fence in the backyard. Parking is immediately in front of unit A. Please be respectful of the other two units who we share parking with.

The space
Our cabin is located in a unique neighborhood of log homes, park model trailers, and tiny homes, all surrounded by the beautiful aspen trees that give this mountain community its name.

This quaint, 680 sq. ft. tiny cabin has one private bedroom on the first floor (double bed), one full bathroom, and an upstairs loft space that can sleep an additional 3 people. The loft space has one room with a double bed and an additional open space with a single bed mattress. The entire loft space has low 4ft. ceilings and a low railing that overlooks the living area. Small children should be supervised when in the loft due to the low railings and narrow staircase leading to it.

You will have neighboring tiny homes and park model trailers/ RV's close to the property. The Whispering Aspens neighborhood is a tight-knit, welcoming mountain community.

Fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, oven, dishwasher, auto drip coffee maker, and everything you need to make a home cooked meal.

4 person dining table and 2 bar stools to enjoy your meals.

Enjoy your own private outdoor space with a wrap around deck and outdoor dining table. Two yoga mats are provided for your use.

The community clubhouse located at the entrance of the Whispering Aspens neighborhood offers shared grills. It is a short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the cabin.

The cabin can accommodate a maximum of 5 guests. This includes 4 adults with 1 child.

Parking for 2 cars is available directly in front of the cabin via the front driveway. ⚠️ Street parking is not permitted

The cabin does not have air conditioning, as most mountain homes do not. Please open the windows and screened doors to enjoy the mountain air. There is a portable fan and a ceiling fan available for your use.

The cabin has radiant wall heating controlled by the wall thermostats. Portable heaters are also available for your use during the winter months.

Whispering Aspens is a dog friendly community. Please keep your dog on a leash when they are outside. One (1) small dog is welcome, as long as they are well behaved and house-trained. Exceptions may be made for two small dogs, please notify us if more than one dog is accompanying you. We charge a one time pet fee of $50. We do not allow cats at this time.

A fenced dog park is available for your pup's enjoyment located behind the community clubhouse.

Please note the high altitude of Fairplay being at almost 10,000 feet. It's important to stay well hydrated and dress warmly in the winter.

Fishing during spring/summer/fall in neighborhood ponds (no ice fishing nor ice skating allowed).

Our log home meets a high quality checklist. The kitchen, for one, is stocked with ample cooking equipment such as various pots and pans, a crockpot, a hand mixer, a new Keurig machine with complementary pods, cutlery for 12, and has a clean double door refrigerator and freezer. This home also includes cooking and baking supplies, such as spices, sugar, flour, cupcake and various baking dishes. The bedrooms have a closet, window treatments and beds with soft, clean bedding and comfortable mattresses. In each bathroom, there are 4 or more sets of plush towels. Toiletries include soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

You get entire gorgeous log home to yourself plus garage access with self check-in. You can roam around the 3 acre property (see boundaries in images) to play, walk, sled, use treehouse etc. as well as hike on community trails, play tennis or basketball, go fishing, hiking, and biking. Please stay on our property only -- see map in photos. Keep speed in neighborhood to 20mph—higher speeds ruin the roads, spread dust, noise, and reduce safety.
35 minutes from Breckenridge, 15 min from Alma & 10 min from Fairplay. Access is easy using HWY 285 from Denver or 1.5 hrs, or HWY 9 from Colorado Springs (1.5 hrs).
Hunting and shooting is not allowed on lands in the HOA, so you can go on peaceful hikes right out the door. The trail map is located in the photos for the listing, as well as at the cabin. There are forests and meadows to explore on walks/hikes, or in the winter, you could also use your cross country skis or snowshoes.

Other things to note
Our Log Cabin is on a large 3 acre lot in the forest, within an HOA - Please note that our community is a gated, covenant-controlled area, ensuring a peaceful, beautiful, and secure environment. We kindly ask all guests to adhere to the community guidelines, including no parking on Park County or Warm Springs roads. Any ATV, dirt bike motorcycle, Snowmobiles etc. need to be trailered inside the HOA. There is next door USFS for all that!

No campfires, no loud outdoor music, and no shooting of firearms.

Dogs are allowed with a fee (add as a guest to booking) on the gorgeous property, as long as they are not barking uncontrolled, are trained/obedient to stay off beds and all furniture, and are supervised at all times and on-leash outside my property lines.

Usually internet is fast and reliable, weather is great year round (cool in summer, wonderful spring and fall (amazing aspen forest surrounds cabin). Winter is about 10 degrees cooler on average, than Denver, CO.

• As for being at 10,000 feet, 95% of people are fine (we have a lot of guests from low elevations across the nation including Texas, Kansas, California, Florida, the Midwest and other states close to sea level). As long as you’re not doing any seriously strenuous activities like hiking a 14,000 ft peak or something, you will be fine.

Almost all of Colorado’s ski resorts and mountain communities lie between 8,000/10,000 ft., with ski lifts taking you up to 12,000’.

Warm Springs is also super quiet, private, and a treasure. The wild Rocky Mountains! You will very likely see many native songbirds, raptors, elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, possibly moose, and occasional bobcats, bears, and mtn. lion. We have seen multiple moose, elk, deer, (often walking in out land) a bobcat behind the cabin, and a bear with two cubs on the hiking trail about a mile from the cabin. Neighbors have seen mountain lions on their land although I have not ever seen one.

Please have fun, and likewise be cautious with respect to not to leaving out trash, food, wrappers, grill stuff, etc. The area is amazing and you will be very happy to experience more of Colorado from this 3 acre, private property.

We invite you to enjoy our sweet cabin in Fairplay which is only 3 miles away from historic downtown Fairplay where you can bike to local shops, bars, and restaurants. The Middle Fork South Platte River runs right through Fairplay and has excellent fishing and there is even a beach to use in the summer time! Tons of hiking nearby and the cabin is only 25 miles away from World class skiing in Breckenridge, only 45 minutes to the hot springs in Buena Vista, and literally a few minutes away to 14’ers Mt Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, Bross and Quandary Peak. Local wildlife is abundant. We have prepared this cabin to accommodate travelers and vacationers with all the things we value most in our accommodations when we travel. We have furnished the house with all the items we use on a regular basis including a fully furnished kitchen.

We take pride in our cabin and hope you will have unforgettable memories in our space. Our house has ample room for you to spread out all your gear and local guidebooks to help you plan for you next day’s adventure. After a full day out exploring and enjoying the amazing mountain outdoors you will come back to the cabin and relax. We have an outdoor hot tub on the deck where you can soak in and enjoy the panoramic view or gaze the night stars while sipping your favorite drink. Outdoors, you will also be provided with a grill and eating/sitting area on the deck. We have a high-capacity washer and dryer and provide all the basic laundry supplies. We are both avid adventures and can give suggestions on the area’s best climbs, skis, and hikes.
After a full day of exploring Summit and Park County you will enjoy our home’s open living space which invites togetherness and easy conversation. This cabin sits on over an acre of land. The property is surrounded by tall evergreen and aspens. There are few neighbors and traffic, as this property is located on a dead-end road.

Our secluded home is 3 bedroom/3 bath cabin that can accommodate up to 10 guests. We have a King bed in the master bedroom, a queen in the second bedroom, twin over full and another twin in the bunk room downstairs, and 2 twin beds in the loft.

The space
Whimsical Hollow is a darling full log cabin that is nestled among some of the highest mountain peaks in Colorado. The views are absolutely amazing and the home is surrounded by spruce and pine trees. It is a serene and very romantic location. The home has all new furniture and amenities of the highest quality.

The romantic living room has a wood burning fireplace for cozy nights around the fire (you may want to bring extra wood!). There is a dining room with a table that seats 4 and a fully equipped kitchen. There is additional seating at the kitchen bar also. You will find everything you need to make your family chef happy.

There is a bedroom with a king size bed on the main floor. It has beautiful mountain decor and furnishings. It is next to the full bath which has a walk-in shower. The decorations throughout the home are exquisite. Everything reflects the cozy romantic atmosphere of a luxury mountain cabin. Upstairs there is a second spacious bedroom which also has a king size bed. It too has new furniture, linens and amenities. You will love the views from the bed. You can look right out of the two story windows and see the beautiful white capped mountains. What a way to wake up!

The property is on a dead end road with very few properties. It is not a busy and crowded location. You will most likely not see anyone during your stay except an occasional visitor such as a moose or fox. There are also deer and bears in the area. If you watch closely you may even see some elk. The front porch runs the length of the front of the house and has comfortable seating where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee and take in the gorgeous mountain views. There is a gas grill provided behind the home.

The area is know for it's unlimited outdoor activities. Almost anything you can think of is within minutes of the home. You can hike and explore the National Forest right behind the home. There is a road just above the location of the home that you can hike to the end of and be right in the National Forest. Many of the famous 14'ers are located in this area where you can hike or climb. Horseback riding is just a few minutes from the home at the Platte River Ranch. They have hay rides, hour long rides, and even evening steak rides. If you like white-water rafting, the Arkansas River is only a few miles away. You can raft at Buena Vista. They have a variety of trips from safe photo floats to wild rapid trips. ATVing is also great in the area. There are multiple locations where you can ATV. One Trail over Mosquito Pass takes you right into Leadville where you can enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants in the restored mining town. This is a fabulous place to shop for antiques too!

As native Coloradans, we love the outdoors, the spectacular seasons, and the diversity of nature.
Our adventurous spirits lead us to purchase our cozy log cabin in 2015. This is a place to get away and unplug from the noise of the city, recharge and be rejuvenated by the awesome surroundings. (It is only a 95 minute drive from southwest Denver on 285. We avoid the crazy I-70 traffic and congestion). Through our front window, we have the spectacular view of Mt. Sherman, which is a 14"er". Enjoying a cup of coffee from our welcoming and relaxing porch and watching the sunrise burst above Mt. Sherman is a wonderful way to greet the day.

This beautiful area and our cozy log cabin are just too special not to share. The fellowship of family and friends is what has inspired us to open our home and hearth. Moose Creek Chalet is a custom cabin built w/ talent and a lot of love! It is absolutely adorable. The cabin is decorated in luxurious mountain decor and finished with beautiful custom wood work. From the moment you drive up to the cabin you will see how much care and thought went into this home. It is surrounded by beautiful Pine and Aspen trees and has stunning views of the white-capped `mountains. When you walk in, you enter the open living room, dining room, and kitchen. The ceilings are high and lofted and the luxurious decor will take your breath away. The living area has comfortable leather seating and a large flat screen TV with satellite programming. There is even a cute electric fire place to add to the ambiance. The spacious kitchen is open to the living area and the dining room. It has modern stainless appliances and gorgeous granite counter tops. It has everything you will need for your stay including all dishes, pots and pans, and silverware. There is a large dining room that seats 6-8. There is additional island seating at the kitchen counter top. You will love everything about Moose Creek.

There is a full size private bedroom with a queen size bed. It has beautiful wood furniture including a dresser you can use for your stay. All linens are provided in the home. They are new luxurious linens. We use a 3 sheet system with a fitted and 2 flat sheets. You will really sleep comfortably in the cool mountain atmosphere. Upstairs there is a large loft with two queen size futon beds. The room has a flat screen TV and a large game table where you can work your favorite crossword puzzle or play a board game. The furnishings are comfortable and very tastefully decorated in mountain decor. There are sliding doors that open to a large upper deck. The views from up there are magnificent. You can see white-capped mountains and the beautiful surrounding forest. There is another bathroom off of the loft. This is a full bath with a walk in shower that has custom tile work. It is comfortable and inviting. There is a second private bedroom upstairs with a queen size bed and a private en suite bath. It too is comfortable and beautifully decorated. There is a third bedroom downstairs that is small but very cute. The kids will love this "secret" room. It has two twin beds. The second bed is a pull-out under the other.

Outside there is a back deck that has patio furniture and a gas grill. You will enjoy sitting outside and watching the wildlife in the area. There are deer, moose, fox, and an occasional bear. If you are into bird watching, you will love the mountains. There are many different species of birds, including the native blue bird which is the small cute one like in the Disney movie Snow White. The home is right around the corner from a National Forest entrance and Thompson Park. You can take nightly hikes on one of the many trails in this area. If you like ATVing, you will love this area! You can go right into the Breakneck and Browns Pass areas where there are lots of fun and some challenging trails. They are also amazing trails to hike or snow shoe in the winter. Horseback riding is just minutes from the home. The Platte River Ranch is an amazing place for family, friends and kids to ride or enjoy a hay ride or steak dinner ride. If you are an avid fisherman, the Platte River offers Gold Medal fishing. There are also several lakes nearby that are known for great fishing. They include Antero Reservoir, Spinney Reservoir, and Eleven Mile Lake. Montgomery Reservoir is also a beautiful place to fish and hike. There are many jeep trails and ghost towns and mining towns to explore in the area. Fairplay has the famous restored 1800's mining town of South Park. You will want to be sure to visit this town before you leave. Rafting is also nearby in Buena Vista on the Arkansas River.

The home has 3 bedrooms. There is one bedroom with a king size bed and another bedroom with a queen size bed on the main level. There is a shared full size bath on this level. Downstairs there is a third bedroom that has 2 full beds. The large recreation room has a television, lots of comfy seating and toys for the kiddos. There is a shared full bath on this lower level as well with a shower/tub combo. There is a new 4-6 person cedar barrel sauna available. This is a great place to relax after a day of skiing or hiking. The home also has a new Foosball table which is a great activity for the entire family. The kids and adults alike will love playing this game.

Gold Trail Retreat is only 25 miles from the 5 star ski resort of Breckenridge. It has world-class skiing and boarding. There is also snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice skating, alpine tubing, and much more. Keystone and A-basin are also only a short drive from the home and offer additional world-class skiing. As mentioned, it is very close to many of the 14'ers which so many people come to Colorado to climb. Whether you are a climber or casual hiker, the area has beautiful trails to enjoy right from the property. If you are not into hiking, there are always horses to ride, white-water to conquer on a raft, snow shoe trails, cross country skiing, and many other activities to challenge each and every person. If you are just into beautiful drives, there are many that we can recommend with old mines and pioneer towns to explore. There is fabulous outlet mall shopping in nearby Silverthorne where you can shop and pick up any supplies and clothing that you need for your adventures. It is just an awesome place to stay. There is no hustle and bustle and absolutely NO traffic and traffic noise. You are close enough to the activities to enjoy them if you want but far enough away to have your own peace and solitude.

The area has so much to offer in the way of activities. In the summer, there is horseback riding right down highway 9 at the Platte River Ranch. They have 2 hour rides, half day rides, and dinner rides. It is a great place for the family to go and ride through the forest and mountain meadows. They give you a true old West experience. There is fishing very near the property. There are several spots and parks near the home where you can fish. Hiking trails are all around in the Pike National Forest. Many of the famous 14'ers are in this area like Mt. Sherman, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Democrat, and the Buffalo Peaks. If you like ATVing, bring them along and there are many many areas to ride in like Breakneck and Browns Pass and 4-Mile ATV park. Mosquito Pass Road is very very close to the home and you can ride right over Mosquito Pass into Leadville where there are 100's of old mines to explore. You can even ride right into town and enjoy lunch or dinner at some of the quaint refurbished mining town restaurants. There are lots of antique shops to explore as well. It is an awesome day trip.

If you like outlet shopping, Silverthorne is only a short drive and has great shops. Breckenridge also has dozens of great unique shops. Just call us and we can point you toward the nearest ghost town or hiking trail. Be sure to visit the restored 1800's mining town of South Park which is right in Fairplay. It is truly a must see!
