Tashi’s cabin, in Leadville Colorado, is half way surrounded by a porch, so you can just sit there and watch Mount Democrat turn red as the sun sets over Mount Elbert. Across the road are the beaver ponds of the very upper headwaters of the Arkansas River.
If cozying up a leather recliner in front of the crackling fire is more your style, move inside and relax by the crackling fire in the wood stove with glass door.
In the morning, it may be hard to get up as you just lay in bed looking at the aspen trees through the window but then again…you can keep on watching them from the kitchen window as you prepare a nice breakfast!
Tashi is a two bedroom, one bath cabin, sleeps 4 with a queen size bed and two twin size beds.

- "If you are looking for a true cozy cabin that is not in the woods, but convenient to town, this is it. Loved cooking on the stove which brought back memories of childhood Thanksgivings of cooking on the same Tappan stove. Aside from the road noise, we enjoyed every minute." - "Great cozy place, just a few minutes from downtown Leadville. Very special place, we got engaged on top of Mount Sherman the weekend we stayed here!" - "This was our third trip to Leadville over Spring Break, having skied Copper Mountain twice and Ski Cooper once. This place continues to be preferct for our family of four. It's located on the north side of town, about three miles from the Leadville Safeway to the south. You are closest to Copper and Ski Cooper, both north of Leadville. You have the feeling of being in a secluded cabin setting, yet less than a few minutes from the grocery store. There are many personal touches to really make you feel at home. It's about 20 miles to Copper Mountain, one of my favorite CO mountains, as the mountain is huge, one of the famous 'Summit County' hills, lift lines are short, and it's not pretentious. Plus, being able to stay in Leadville vs a high-end condo is more appealing to our family. And, the owner is a really easy guy to work with. Although we have never met face to face, I consider Paul a friend after three years of swapping snow reports! This is our second year in the Tashi, a 2-bedroom cabin, one BR with a queen, the other bedroom with twin beds. We stayed in the Buckeye once, also an awesome cabin. Kitchen is well stocked, huge porch, very clean gas grill for your steaks or burgers. The woodbunring stoves work great, maybe too great. Three years and we still can't get a comfortable 'burn', either too hot or needs more wood...but it's fun having a fire. Beds are comfortable, and the living room has easy seating for four. It's a cabin...plugs are a premium and with this being the 'gadget age', ie phones, computers, Go-Pro, boot dryers, i-Pads, Nooks, Garmans, etc (kind of embarrassing!), it can be a challenge. But, there are a few plug in power strips to get stuff charged as long as you don't want it bedside. Also, no dishwasher or washer/dryer, but the website accurately reflects that. Pictures are spot on! At the end of the day, if we plan to return to Leadville, I wouldn't consider another property unless this one is booked. No, it's not a five star condo, but good luck finding one in Leadville, as that's not Leadville's vibe. It's clean, comfortable, priced right, and just an absolutely charming place to stay. You have a great feeling of being in the mountains, with town only a few miles away. "

Luna's cabin, on the very upper headwaters of the Arkansas River, is surrounded by aspen trees, which fill the rooms with gold in fall and flicker in the wind.
This log cabin is equipped with all the modern amenities but still sets you back in the past where time went by at a slower pace.
As you are day dreaming looking out the window from the bedroom, just let yourself go and dive in the down comforter for a little nap and have a real dream… unless you’d rather sip on a glass of wine or a hot chocolate on the sun drenched deck overlooking the beaver ponds.

A tidy, well loved cabin. Deck overlooking pond is beautiful, we love the light and reflection. Quiet neighborhood. Would return for sure! One small caveat, we found difficulty with streaming. We were able to text and check email from phones, so that works!" - "Thanks from KS to CO"

Leadville is a neat town if you want to explore there as well. Town on a Hill Coffee shop was a daily trip for us. The cabin itself is nice. Could use an update to the master shower to make it a little bigger. Other than that, no complaints and we would stay here again. - "We spent 3 nights here and it was perfect! Plenty of room for the two of us and our dogs. Everything was just as advertised, with no surprises. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Leadville!" - "Location was great and the cabin just made you feel at home and relaxed. Back porch was a great space. Plenty of space in the living room. Picnic table and fire pit in the backyard. Visiting in July, you wouldn’t expect to be able to sleep with the windows open but we did! We never turned the air conditioning on because of the cool mountain air and the trees provided enough shade from the sun to keep the cabin cool. Would definitely stay here again."

Stay in the mountains this winter and ski your heart out! We know you will absolutely love Leadville in every season. Our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home is fully stocked. With ample seating for guests, laundry and open concept living, you will enjoy the rustic decor and accommodations. Whether you just need a peaceful place to retreat, cook and enjoy a movie or a comfortable bed after hours of exploring or hitting the slopes, you will love this location! Sitting at 10,000 ft, the balcony boasts an incredible view of Mount Massive and is the perfect base camp location for more outdoor activities than you can name — spring, fall or winter — and we are inviting you for an extended stay.
Located just under 2 hours west of Denver, Leadville is a unique and historic old west mountain town, the city with the highest elevation in North America! The views are stunning!
In the spring and fall you can enjoy everything from biking, hiking, fishing, rafting, ATV tours, zip lining, train rides, horseback riding and even hot springs....all local or within one hour drive time. We can't wait to give you our list of faves!
In the winter, you are 10 minutes from Ski Cooper and 25 minutes from Copper Mountain Ski resort. More world-class skiing is less than an hour including Vail and Breckenridge. Local winter activities also include snowmobiling, snow shoeing, tubing, dog sledding, ATV tours with tracks and more.
Great shopping and dining...oh the yummy food...awaits in downtown Leadville plus the Silverthorne, CO outlets, TJ MAXX, Target and more are just about 35 minutes away...past the gorgeous Frisco/Lake Dillion area.
The museums and history of Leadville are also so, so interesting. One of our most favorite excursions is biking the 13 mile Mineral Belt Trail which features a self-guided tour of the history of Leadville and it's mining community. Stories of Doc Holiday, Baby Doe Tabor and the infamous Molly Brown are fascinating. History has been preserved and is so fun to explore!
This destination is a place you will want to come again and again! An outdoor enthusiasts PARADISE, Leadville is easily Colorado's best kept "secret."
***Easy parking and laundry room included. This home is not accessible and requires use of stairs for entry.
****PS: our three children really want you to know that they helped mix and pour the concrete for our new sidewalk! Be impressed.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil mountain getaway... we love our Air Capitol Cottage Leadville at 10,200 feet. Built before 1888, like many houses in Leadville, our cottage's uniquely sloping roof makes it one of kind and we love the cottage-y feel out to the amazing, private backyard. We also love the location, right off Harrison, close to our favorite liquor store, one block to the park, playground, and sledding. 2 blocks to downtown and the mining museum.
Air Capitol Cottage combines our love of the mountains and aviation! We love that the Leadville/Lake County Airport is a lot of pilot's "Everest"! 😉 At 9,934 feet, Lake County is North America's highest public use airport!
Our two bedroom home has one bedroom upfront with new barn door for privacy! Super cute room with closet, extra floor room for space/play and two windows! Then when you walk into the living room, it has lots of natural, a couch and chair, TV area and then blends into the dining room and kitchen. The nicely sized bathroom with shower/tub combo, stackable washer/dryer, storage and more! Finally, back to the primary bedroom with a queen sized bed, two closet and our beloved hobbit sized door out to the backyard!
The fully fenced, terraced backyard features beautiful aspen trees, propane firepit and chairs. It's a great place to spread out and let the kids and/or dogs burn off some energy safely.
- "We have stayed at this cabin several times now. We enjoy the quirkiness of a cabin that is well over 100 years old. The house was clean and the kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked. When we had a question, the owner responded immediately. The location is great for walking to downtown Leadville, convenient to Ski Cooper, and there is a walking/Nordic skiing path at the end of the street. We'll be staying here again!" - "This old house is well equipped and comfortable for our family. Centally location with easy walking to town and biking the bike path to cmc trails. Kitchen is tiny but well stocked with necessities to prepare a meal. "
