For those worried about noise from I-70, this cabin is a newly renovated cabin that has brand new windows and doors, as well as foam insulation sealing the cabin from any road noise. We also provide sound machines for anyone accustomed to sound machine background noise. Minimizing all road noise was a big focus for us during renovation so don’t worry about noise!

The cabin is just steps away from everything Glenwood has to offer...
The Red Mountain/Jeanne Golay hiking trail is literally across the street, providing panoramic views of the Roaring Fork Valley below. A short walk through the trees places you at Veltus Park, which lies along the Roaring Fork River for rafting, fishing or a cool dip in the water. And you'll find tennis and basketball courts there also.
PLUS just a short drive and you are in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley with all of it's skiing, rafting, hiking, rock climbing, and fine dining, including the glamour of Aspen or Vail.

Or you may choose to stay at the cabin to just sit back and relax on the porch or under the shade of the trees, enjoying the beautifully landscaped yard and the sound of the birds overhead.

The cabin is able to accommodate 4, as there is a loft with queen mattress OR use the pull out sofa in the living room.
However, when the living room couch is pulled out, there is little room for anyone to move about. and though the loft has a queen mattress on the floor, the ceiling is very low and there is no room for anyone to stand upright.

This was one of the first school houses up the creek in New Castle, and the only one preserved. It is comfy and has a nice deck for a fantastic view up the creek to the sunlight ski resort. It has family style sleeping upstairs and a futon down.

This renovated cabin was on skids, and we have added a beautiful sunroom/living area with a walk out grade patio to complete the design. It has solar power, with a back up generator..and has a pull out couch, as well as twins in each bedroom, so sleeping capacity is 6. We have a wonderful weber grill, as well as a fire pit on the patio, outside dining and a nice covered front porch, for shade in the hot afternoons...also has a gazebo, on the top of the goat pen here on the Ranch. Nice place for a nap, or practice your morning or evening yoga!

The Ponderosa Cabins, est.1939, offer their own kitchenettes, clean and well-appointed cabins for guests to enjoy the best of Glenwood Springs, with downtown being less than a 5-minute drive. Near the Glenwood Adventure Park and Hot Springs, amongst 17 total cabins on a 2-acre property, this location will soon be a destination for Western-style weddings, and large family retreats (coming soon!).

Each cabin has been remodeled and has a fresh twist on an old cabin. The decor will vary slightly, but we call our style "Rustic Luxury".
Cabin 2 "Hoss" has a Queen bed and all linens, a small living room area next to the bed with 2 chairs, as well as a small kitchen with cooking essentials, a small refrigerator, stovetop and oven, coffee machine and coffee, plates, cups and bowls for TWO, and a small dining area. Each cabin also has Wi-Fi, cable TV, and A/C. All cabins are quaint and cozy!
Guests will have their own entrance and separate living area to themselves. There are communal spaces in the grassy areas around the cabins, and guests may also use the Laundry Cabin, located in the center of the property. *This is NOT a pet-friendly cabin! Please check with us for pet-friendly cabins!

We are available any time need arises- just give us a call! Emergency numbers are posted in the cabins. There is also a full-time on-site manager in Cabin 16 if you need immediate assistance.

The Ponderosa Cabins are spread out over 2 acres, right off of Highway 6 (parallel to I-70) in West Glenwood Springs. Historic and iconic, this property feels like a little oasis in the city- and if you overlook the nearby hotels and roads, you might even feel like you are staying in a remote mountain getaway! Located about 2-3 minutes from the Iron Mountain Hot Springs Pool and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, 3-5 minutes to downtown Glenwood Springs and the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, and the Amtrack train station. A few short minutes away (walking) is the famous, "Vic's Charcoal Burger". Don't miss their delicious burgers, shakes, and fries- served from an iconic 1950's drive-through!

Private parking for each cabin (labeled) near the Laundry room (center of property). There is a Valley Taxi service, limited Uber/Lyft options, and a local bus that has a stop nearby (called "Ride Glenwood").

This property is in transition from long-term rentals to its original intent of short-term rentals. There are several cabins that still have long-term tenants, but we are gradually changing those over. Any feedback is appreciated - and we truly hope to make this a great stay for you! *This is NOT a pet-friendly cabin! Please check with us for pet-friendly cabins!
PETS ARE ALLOWED in this cabin ($20 per pet, per night). All towels, bedding, linens are to remain in the apartment at all times - towels are NOT for pool use!! Keep in mind the easiest way to communicate with us is via VRBO messaging system; please use this message system, and we will respond promptly. Our goal is to keep our cabin well maintained and secure for all of our Guests. We want you to enjoy your visit; hopefully, these house rules will help you enjoy and understand our property. As a guest, I agree to the following terms and conditions:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Pet fee $150.
-No dogs left alone in unit. Please do not book if your dog can not be left in a crate.
-Absolutely no pets allowed on furniture especially the bed.
-Extra cleaning fee of fifty dollars per hour will be charged.
-No aggressive dogs allowed.
-Must be potty trained.
-Guests traveling with their pets are responsible for their pets and must keep them well behaved.
-No constant barking allowed.
-Dogs must be on a leash while outside unless approved by the owner.

2. The premises are to be used only as a private vacation residence for registered Guest (s). The Guest (s) will provide the Owner with a complete list of all occupants of the premises. The Tenant will not allow occupancy in the condo more than that agreed upon in the reservation. No Parties or group gatherings, other than registered Guest (s), shall occur. The maximum number of Guest (s) is four (4) persons.

3. The person booking the reservation must be over the age of 25 and be an occupant of the unit during the entire reserved period.

4. The river can be extremely dangerous, especially during high water in the springtime. Enjoy responsibly at your own risk.

5. There is a campfire down by the river that guests can use when legal. Again, use at your own risk. SMALL CAMPFIRES ONLY!

6. Smoking: 100% Smoke-Free premises. Guests (s) or Guest (s) of Guests cannot smoke anywhere on the property grounds, either inside our condo or outside. Please do not rent if you are a smoker even if you plan on smoking off the property. Any sign of smoking will result in an extra $500 cleaning fee.

7. Guests to maintain a clean environment outside. Food items should be kept inside to prevent attraction of bears. Please keep all cabin doors and vehicle doors locked at night to prevent any possibility of bear intrusions.

8. Check-­In/Check-­Out: Check-in instructions will be provided to you before your arrival. Check-in is at 4 PM MST. Check-out time is 11AM. MST. If you check out later than 11am, you must arrange with the manager or you will be charged an additional day. Early check-­in and late check­-out requests are available for an additional fee and may be added based upon availability. These requests must be made 24 hours in advance. Please message in writing.

9. If the cabin is left excessively dirty, we will charge an added check-out cleaning fee.

10. Any issues with the cabin need to be brought to our attention right away during your stay so that we can make it right.

11. Lost and Found Items: We are not responsible for lost items or damaged items. In addition to shipping and handling charges to return items left behind, we charge a $25 fee to look for and retrieve lost items.

12. Cancellations: Our cancellation policy follows VRBO's "strict cancellation policy" please refer to VRBO site in addition to this policy; we do not provide refunds for unforeseen developments of weather including rain or snow storms. We strongly suggest that you purchase private travel insurance.

13. No Daily Maid Service: We provide bed linens and towels. There is no daily housekeeping. For reservations 14 days or greater a mid-­stay clean is required for $150.

14. Guests Liability: Guests agree to accept liability for any damages caused to the property by guests or Guest's guests, including but not limited to landscaping, misuse of appliances, and equipment furnished. If damages are more than the damage waiver, the Guest agrees to reimburse owners for costs incurred to repair/replace damaged items. The rental is equipped for housekeeping with dishes, cookware, silverware, and glasses. Please do not remove any furnishings, equipment, or items from the unit, including any linen, dishes or other items from the unit.

15. Guest understands that there is no guaranty that properties adjacent to the cabin will be free from disturbances, including but not limited to noise or inconvenience from construction, traffic, or other guests or neighbors, and any such disturbance shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

16. Illegal and or Disruptive Activity: We reserve the right to remove any individual from the premises for any illegal or disruptive behavior on the premises. We reserve sole discretion in determining if a guest should be removed from the premises for illegal and or disruptive behavior. No arrest or conviction is necessary for us to remove an individual from the property. If an individual is removed from the property for such activity, no refund will be issued for money paid. Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We ask that everyone respect each other's privacy and quiet enjoyment by keeping music, televisions, etc. at a moderate level at all times.

17. Hold Harmless: Owners do not assume any liability for any loss, damage, or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither do we accept liability for any inconvenience arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity, or plumbing. We will use our best efforts to ensure that all equipment within the unit is in good working order, although neither Manager nor Owner guarantees that any equipment will not break down during your stay. In the event of a breakdown, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to remedy the situation as soon as possible after notification of the breakdown. Additionally, such a breakdown does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustments for any such mechanical failure. Nor will we accept liability for any loss or damage caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, or other reasons beyond our control.

18. Internet: We do not guarantee internet and cable connectivity. If there happens to be an issue with the service it often will be due to the provider and a tower being down and they promptly repair. The guest may contact the manager or owner to notify them of any issues. Guest understands that no refunds will be given for Internet connectivity issues or lack of service.

19. Walkways: The Guest is fully aware that the walkways can be dangerous, that they can be slippery when wet, and that injury is likely to occur to anyone not using caution. Guests should observe and adhere to all rules and policies as posted at the property. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned accepts and assumes all risks involved in or related to the use of walkways and stairs into the cabin.

Additional Terms and Conditions: The Guest, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges actual Owners from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of injury or whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold actual Owners free and harmless of any claim or suit arising there from. In any action concerning the rights, duties or liabilities of the parties to this Agreement, their Principals, agents, successors or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.

21. Natural Disaster Policy: We do not offer refunds or reschedule bookings due to any natural disaster activity. If you are concerned about the possible interruption, cancelation or delayed travel due to natural activates out of our control, you are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance at the time of booking. Without travel insurance, no refunds will be given for storms, wildfire evacuations, or natural disaster. We are not liable for events that may interfere with your scheduled occupancy, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government agencies, fire, strikes or terrorism, and war.

22. Guest(s) expressly recognize that any insurance for property damage or loss which the Owner may maintain on the property does not cover the personal property of Guest (s), and that they should purchase their own travel insurance if desired.

23. Again the Pet fee is $100. Guest(s) traveling with pets are responsible for their pets and must keep them well behaved. ABSOLUTLY NO DOGS ON BED. Pet hair is very time consuming to remove from blankets. They are to be on LEASH at all times while outside unless otherwise approved by the owner. There is wildlife and other distractions that could cause the pet to wander. They may never bother or approach wildlife. If there is any damage due to the pet the guest(s) are responsible for the cost to fix the damage. NO AGGRESSIVE dog is welcome on our property. THE ANIMAL MUST BE POTTY TRAINED TO BE ALLOWED.

The cabin was impeccably clean, and the layout made it perfect for our family of five. The cabin was stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen, and the gym was great to get in a workout. We loved the decor, such as the swivel chairs to enjoy company or turn and admire the view. Our only advice would be to take the Cattle Creek route on Google maps, its a bit longer drive but paved for majority with 2 car width throughout. We would definitely return—highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway!"

- Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet.

The second floor is accessible through a NARROW spiral staircase (not suitable for children under 5ish years old), and has a queen sized mattress on the floor (no foundation or bed frame), small upstairs patio, TV and half bathroom. The second story is a very low clearance due to the gabled roof of the A-frame cabin, therefore it is also not recommended for very tall people, or those who might be unable to access the bedroom upstairs through the very narrow and steep spiral staircase.

Outdoor Activities: Hiking and Fishing along East Elk Creek are very popular pursuits and avid mountain bikers may find the New Castle network of trails to be a special experience. The town has wonderful restaurants, kid-friendly parks, a variety of shops and the nearby Lakota Canyon Golf Course. Glenwood Springs and the world famous Hot Springs are twenty miles away.

Winter Wonderland would be an understatement here, as the ranch sits at 6,500 with ample snowfall for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing into the Forest and Canyon above. The West Elk Nordic trails at 9000 ft. are well worth the short and scenic drive from the ranch. Guests will savor and cherish the unique combination of activities in such a tranquil and pristine environment.

- "There were a few issues with the furnace being turned on the day we got there but the owner was on it immediately. There were problems with the wifi and the owner had it resolved in the end. The property is located just off the interstate so it makes it easy to access nearby attractions. Beautiful log cabin on 40 acres at 9,000 Ft. with full kitchen and all the amenities of home at the top of the Flat Tops. Queen bed is comfortable but bunks and twin mattresses most definitely need updating. The rest of the cabin is heavenly. Very remote, beautiful and relaxing. The trails were awesome and we spent several days riding. We saw a black bear and cub about 1/2 mile down the hill. Very exciting. Aspen were in full show! Everyone had a fabulous time except those sleeping on the twin. Overall very high rating. Host was very accommodating even though we did not get a chance to actually meet. Thank you Carl for taking good care of us! Hope to return next year around the same time. KM"

The private queen bedroom has a closet and a few cabinets for clothing, a queen bed with linen, bedside table with plenty of outlet access, and a fan. The loft upstairs are shorter living space with lots of lights, a railing, and beds with either 3 twins or 1 double bed & 1 twin. Some of the lofts have a small closet.

The space
The little cabin is quaint and comfortable. It has a full kitchen, cozy sitting area with gas fireplace, and separate bedroom and bath.
There is an outdoor patio and grill open to rock formations behind. In front a little lawn for laying under the stars.
The space surrounding the cabin is open to beautiful views welcome to wander around or hike the mountain.

Guest access
The entire cabin is available to guests. It is located on a hill in the middle of our 9 acre property with open space to wander and a private path to hike the surrounding rock formations with magnificent views of the mountains. Below is a private creek to fish or sit and relax. We share the property line with BLM, so the private path leads to hiking galore.

Other things to note
Our 9 acre property winds up and around sitting at the end of a half mile dirt road.
4-wheel drive is definitely needed in the winter. There are only a few spots that require this.
We are a fairly secluded spot, with few neighbors. The cabin sits by itself at the back of the property. At times you will see, or hear us working around, but we respect the privacy of our guests.

This studio cabin originally built in 1939 is completely and beautifully remodeled- complete with a brand new fully-stocked kitchen, flooring, Queen bed, Smart TV, walk-in glass shower and live-edge oak bar counter. Guest Coin Laundry room (next to Cabin 11) is a shared space, and there is a grassy outdoor firepit area that is also a shared common area. If you use the fire pit (guests must supply their own wood), DO NOT leave the fire unattended! ABSOLUTELY ensure the fire is completely OUT before vacating the area.

BBQ/Picnic Area:
Please notify the owners if you notice the propane is getting low. And please, as a courtesy to others, leave the BBQ and picnic area CLEAN!

Other things to note
TEMPERATURE:
The thermostat is on the wall behind the TV, to the left. When you adjust the temperature warmer, it will automatically turn on the furnace heater (which is to the right of the television, large metal grate from the floor to the ceiling). There is an overhead fan in the living room area, and an A/C unit on the far back wall, to the right of the sliding glass doors - if you need to cool down:-)

TRASH:
If you have extra trash, there is a dumpster in the center of the property, right next to the driveway (you passed it on the way to your cabin). :-)

LAUNDRY:
There is a guest coin-operated Laundry Cabin available 24/7. It is located a few cabins down from the dumpster, in the center of the property. The entrance of the Laundry Cabin faces the front of the property (faces Hwy 6) and has a few concrete steps up to the concrete pad in front of the cabin. You will need your own detergent and coins.

Historic and nostalgic, the Ponderosa Lodge feels like a little oasis in the city- and if you overlook the nearby hotels and roads, you might even feel like you are staying in a remote mountain getaway! The "rustic luxury" cabins are spread out over nearly 2 acres, right off of Highway 6 (parallel to I-70) in West Glenwood Springs, and about 5 minutes from the Iron Mountain Hot Springs Pool, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool and Downtown Glenwood Springs.

The space
This adorable cabin has been TOTALLY remodeled! Cabin 10 "Virginia City" has a Queen bed and all linens, a small living room area next to the bed with 2 chairs, as well as a small kitchen with cooking essentials, a small refrigerator, stovetop and oven, coffee machine and coffee, plates, cups and bowls for TWO, a remodeled bathroom, and a small dining area. Each cabin also has Wi-Fi, cable TV, and A/C. All cabins are quaint and cozy! This cabin's bathroom and kitchen share the wall with the neighboring cabin's kitchen and bathroom (lots of sound barrier!!). This is NOT a pet friendly cabin-- please contact us for pet friendly cabins!

Guests will have their own entrance and separate living area to themselves. There are communal spaces in the grassy areas around the cabins with BBQs and a fire pit (wood not supplied), and guests may also use the LAUNDRY Cabin, located in the center of the property. *This is NOT a pet-friendly cabin!

Other things to note
This cabin shares a common wall behind the kitchen and the bathroom wall with the other cabin's kitchen and bathroom wall, however it is its own individual cabin

The Ponderosa Cabins, est.1939, offer their own kitchenettes, clean and well-appointed cabins for guests to enjoy the best of Glenwood Springs, with downtown being less than a 5-minute drive. Near the Glenwood Adventure Park and Hot Springs, amongst 17 total cabins on a 2-acre property, this location will soon be a destination for Western-style weddings, and large family retreats (coming soon!).

RAD cabin is a small historical home, however highly functional and very comfortable. This owner managed vacation rental has everything one needs and expects, from a fully stocked kitchen, to cozy living room with a gas stove in the winter months, and AC in the summer months.

The queen sized bedroom has a walk-in closet area for luggage and to hang clothing.

The living room has a pull-out sofa that unfolds folds into a full sized sleeping bed. The pull-out mattress is very high quality and comfortable. There is a full laundry room for your personal use, Washer and Dryer. Wifi and cable/ 55" 4K TV, Great place for a couples retreat, small families, or single person to enjoy quiet space.

The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking with everything you need to enjoy home cooked meals, including a dining area for two.

The outdoors space is very private and roomy. There is a gas fire pit with awesome patio furniture, including a gas BBQ. There is an apple and cherry tree. When the fruit trees are in full bloom we encourage you to enjoy the fruit, we do not chemically treat the trees.

Escape to this serene mountain getaway nestled beside a peaceful reflective pond in the heart of rustic Western Colorado. Surrounded by open space and mountain views in every direction, this secluded getaway offers the perfect blend of comfort and nature.

Located 16 miles west of Glenwood Springs off I-70 with easy access to hot springs, ski resorts, and hiking and biking trails.

All guests must be 13 or older due to safety near the pond.

The space
The Cabin at Sunset Ridge is located near the center of our private 14 acre lot, which is bordered by thousands of acres of public land with mountain views in every direction. It truly feels like being in a pristine wilderness but with all the comforts of home!

Inside you will enjoy a spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 950 sq. foot cabin with many amenities for your stay. The cabin is 30 yards from the main house where we live, but there is nothing to block your view of the surrounding mountains and reflective pond.

Both bedrooms are spacious, each with a king sized bed and windows facing south toward the pond. There are plenty of pillow options to suit your taste, and extra blankets if needed.

The living/dining room has ample room for relaxing, working, games, reading, or watching TV. We have a good selection of board games, high-speed wifi, and streaming services on the Roku TV - but with so much to do around here, you may not need them!

A full size outdoor grill is available, and inside, the kitchenette has a toaster oven, air fryer, microwave, blender, 2-burner cooktop, pots and pans, and an under counter fridge so you can prepare your meals here to enjoy in the cabin or outside. Or venture in to town for a wide variety of dining options.

In the mornings and evenings there are often deer other wildlife on the property. Enjoy your morning coffee with views from the many windows in the cabin, outside under the shaded gazebo, or sit next to the pond and watch the reflections dance across the glassy water.

If you enjoy disc golf, or just walking in the woods, feel free to try our on-site 9-hole Disc Golf Course while you are here! Just be sure to bring your own discs! Or just walk the course as it meanders around the property and around the pond.

And last, but certainly not least, we don’t call this place Sunset Ridge for nothing! The sun sets over the pond every night and you will have a front row seat! Take a seat and settle in for golden hour and watch the red rocks on the ridge light up with the last of the evening light. The views are truly breathtaking and will quiet your soul and leave you feeling rejuvenated.

PLEASE NOTE: The Bair Ranch property is expansive and this cabin is within a 20-minute drive from I-70, and an approximate 40-minute drive to Glenwood Springs and other nearby towns. NO Self Check-In: Check-In is between 4:00-5:00pm at the Bair Ranch Office. Should you require a later check-in, notify us as soon as possible so we can work to arrange a late check-in with the ranch staff. Check-in past 7pm is not permitted.

THE SPACE
The Caribou Cabin greets you with a homestyle seating area, leather furnishings, and an old-fashioned wood burning stove. The basic kitchenette (without a refrigerator or oven) is equipped to prepare a simple meal for the family. The bedroom features comfortable log furnishings and the cozy loft, is only appropriate for older children, There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room for additional sleeping accommodations.

In addition to the sheep ranch operation, the Bair family also offers western activities onsite, including horseback riding, shotgun shooting, sporting clay shooting, and off-road adventures with a private jeep or RZR tours. These activities must be reserved through Glenwood Adventure Company or the Bair Ranch Office.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
There is a lodge on the property that can be rented in conjunction with this lodge for larger groups of up to 18 people. The lodge is a 3-bedroom vacation rental that sleeps 14, Airbnb listing #959628873300735078.

This cabin is uniquely off-grid, run strictly by solar power. While it has your basic needs, it does NOT have a refrigerator, oven, television or Internet. You will need to BRING A COOLER with ice for your drinks and perishable food items. It is recommended that you bring drinking water.  See details regarding the coffee maker under Additional Notes below.

You will receive a gate access code prior to your arrival. When you arrive at the gate, enter the provided code to enter the private property and then follow the directions to the Bair Ranch Office. Once checked in, ranch staff will guide you to the Lodge.

A 4WD or AWD VEHICLE IS A MUST due to unpaved, steep mountain roads and the potential for high levels of snow in the spring and fall seasons. Roads leading to the cabin become very slippery and dangerous with extensive rains. If heavy rains occur during your stay, you may be required to remain in the cabin as long as the road conditions are dangerous. If heavy rains occur prior to your arrival, it could cause a delay with your check-in. Please note that there is a 10’ clearance height restriction at the entrance gate.

This home is not appropriate for people with mobility issues due to sloped, rocky walkways, uneven surfaces and stairs.


The loft is great for kids however due to the steep ladder access, this space is only suitable for children of at least 6 years of age.

It is very important to closely monitor your electricity consumption by turning off all lights when not in use. There is NO cell phone service but a signal can be obtained 3 miles down the road near the ranch entrance or the office. 

PETS or ANIMALS of ANY KIND are NOT PERMITTED. The Bair Ranch is a working ranch where livestock and wild animals are abundant. There are large dogs roaming the grounds periodically herding the livestock. Bringing a domestic animal to the property could be dangerous to the livestock as well as the ranch dogs.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY. The use of tobacco, cannabis, or vapor devices is strictly prohibited.  Disregarding this Rule may result in a fine.

The Cabin does NOT have air conditioning although there are fans for your comfort. It stays fairly cool in the summer due to the higher elevation.

The Cedar House is centrally located in the heart of the valley, for an easy commute to all the attractions this area has to offer but will give you the sense you are miles away from it all. This house is a one-of-a-kind from the exceptional wood work through-out the home from local cedar trees. The trees that surround the property and tranquil setting give privacy, peace and beauty. Sit and enjoy the sound of the stream flowing and birds singing from the decks that overlook Divide Creek.

This property has farm land surrounding the house, at times other people will be seen checking animals, and water, etc. Your privacy will not be affected. However with permission this portion of the property can be used for walks and hikes as well as across the street to enter BLM. There is no hunting allowed on the property or hunting on the BLM that joins the property. Hunting can be accessed 2 miles up the road or 7 miles to forest.

• This rural creekside cabin is located in the Colorado mountains which is shared with many creatures both great and small. Some of the tiny ones may find their way into the house from time to time, especially when doors are left open. This may include, but is not limited to, ants, elm seed beetles, flies, wasps, and on rare occasion even a snake or a mouse. Therefore, this home is proactively treated by professionals twice monthly (i.e. you may see a trap or two throughout your stay). Please do not book this home if this makes you uncomfortable. Refunds will not be given for critter sightings.

This property is a 35-minute drive to the grocery store in the nearest town. Nestled on 40 acres experience tranquil views, wildlife, and relax with your family in a beautiful cabin. This cozy cabin has 4 bedrooms and a loft to host your big family for the perfect get-away! The main floors boasts a king size bed, full bath, 1/2 bath, kitchen & living room. As you go downstairs, there will be another living room, full bath, 3 bedrooms and laundry. Unwind on the back porch as you grill dinner or rock your troubles away on the front porch enjoying the extensive wildlife

The space
The main floor has a King bed room and full bathroom as well as a 1/2 bath in the front hallway. The loft has a queen bed with a full bathroom. The downstairs area has 2 king bedrooms, 1 queen bedroom, 1 twin bed, a separate living room, full bath and laundry, a spacious mud room and extra refrigerator. The first level and loft are heated with a wood burning stove (firewood provided) and the basement has several electric fireplaces with a main propane fireplace in the living room (instructions for igniting it are located toward the bottom of the fireplace). The kitchen is located on the main level and fully equipped. The back deck is spacious and has gorgeous views for you to enjoy while grilling. There is a gas/charcoal BBQ grill combo as well as a Traeger pellet grill and a propane double burner on the deck. You will need to bring your own charcoal and pellets for the grills.
Off of the back deck is a fire pit with custom benches.

PLEASE NOTE: The Bair Ranch property is expansive and this cabin is within a 20-minute drive from I-70, and an approximate 40-minute drive to Glenwood Springs and other nearby towns. There are many unique considerations and features of this lodge. Review the listing description in full before booking.

NO Self Check-In: Check-In is between 4:00-5:00pm at the Bair Ranch Office. Should you require a later check-in, notify us as soon as possible so we can work to arrange a late check-in with the ranch staff. Check-in past 7pm is not permitted.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
You will receive a gate access code prior to your arrival. When you arrive at the gate, enter the provided code to enter the private property and then follow the directions to the Bair Ranch Office. Once checked in, ranch staff will guide you to the Lodge.

A 4WD or AWD VEHICLE IS A MUST due to unpaved, steep mountain roads and the potential for high levels of snow in the spring and fall seasons. Roads leading to the cabin become very slippery and dangerous with extensive rains. If heavy rains occur during your stay, you may be required to remain in the cabin as long as the road conditions are dangerous. If heavy rains occur prior to your arrival, it could cause a delay with your check-in. Please note that there is a 10’ clearance height restriction at the entrance gate.

This home is not appropriate for people with mobility issues due to sloped, rocky walkways, uneven surfaces and stairs.

Mounted taxidermy is on the main level of the Lodge in the great room and dining area.

This Lodge is uniquely off-grid, run strictly by hydroelectric power. While it has your basic comforts (e.g. satellite internet, TV with streaming apps), it is very important to closely monitor your energy consumption by turning off all lights and unplugging devices when not in use.

Cell phone service is weak but available via WiFi calling/texting. Otherwise, a signal can be obtained 3 miles down the road near the ranch entrance or the office.

WiFi is sourced through the Starlink satellite system and can be intermittent at times so not ideal for remote work.

It is recommended that you bring your own bagged ice and drinking water with you. See details regarding the coffee maker under Additional Notes below.

PETS or ANIMALS of ANY KIND are NOT PERMITTED. The Bair Ranch is a working ranch where livestock and wild animals are abundant. There are large dogs roaming the grounds periodically herding the livestock. Bringing a domestic animal to the property could be dangerous to the livestock as well as the ranch dogs.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY. The use of tobacco, cannabis, or vapor devices is strictly prohibited.  Disregarding this Rule may result in a fine.

The Lodge does NOT have air conditioning although there are fans for your comfort. It stays fairly cool in the summer due to the higher elevation.

This Lodge has only one full bathroom with a shower, important to note for larger groups.

Travel Protection: We HIGHLY recommend purchasing our trip cancellation insurance as there are NO REFUNDS if canceled within 7 days of arrival, regardless of the reason (including illness, flight delays, weather, road conditions, etc.). Protect your vacation with RentalGuardian in case of cancellations, emergencies, and more.  Specifics will be provided in your confirmation email so you can get started and travel with peace of mind.

Included in the price of your rental is an Administrative Fee of $59. This non-refundable damage protection insurance policy, in lieu of a damage deposit, is required protection insurance provided by Waivo for up to $2,500 in accidental damage. Minimizing road noise was a big focus for us during renovation but it's important to take note of and we cannot minimize it entirely when outside.

In the winter we recommend guests have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up the mountain. The road is unpaved and we can get a lot of snow.

This home features two master suites with king-size beds as well as attached full baths, 2 bedrooms with Queen size beds, and one bedroom 2 Queen sized bunk beds. There is an additional 2 full baths in the home. This cabin-style home is the perfect escape into the mountain with access to tons of outside space and only a few minutes drive to downtown Glenwood Springs.

Kitchen:
This space is a newly renovated kitchen with all the necessities you need to make those big Sunday family dinners or quick midnight snacks. The Mitchell Creek Retreat comes with new appliances, including a washer and dryer, dishwasher, and new propane grill.

The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need for a gourmet dinner, including pots, pans, serving dishes, platters, and knives for the chefs in your party or group. There is a coffee pot for your early birds, including coffee filters and grounds. Take your time and enjoy the early morning sun on our flagstone patio with a scenic view of the fish and waterfall.

Guest access
Guest will have access to the majority of the property. This includes access to the courtyard with an outdoor table in the back of the house, a shaded front porch with an old-time swing, and a flagstone patio next to Mitchell Creek with a roaring waterfall and creek-fed pool. In addition, guests can hike around the property with access to multiple yards, including a small apple orchard. Guest will also have access to hike around the property.

Other things to note
*****Please note: While the natural flagstone pool is quite beautiful, you must be careful with small children. The pool is frigid due to the mountain spring-fed creek. While the creek is very shallow, the flagstone pool created in the 1920s is very deep. About 8 ft deep, this pool is great for your polar plungers but is not recommended for non-swimmers. The pool is not fenced and requires adult supervision when children play in the main yard.

**** Please note: that your hosts (Hattie and Trent) live on the property in a separate apartment above the garage. They will be happy to answer any questions and provide local insights, giving you plenty of space to enjoy the property individually. No pets allowed. There are no shared spaces other than the yard and central patio.
