For those worried about noise from I-70, this cabin is a newly renovated cabin that has brand new windows and doors, as well as foam insulation sealing the cabin from any road noise. We also provide sound machines for anyone accustomed to sound machine background noise. Minimizing all road noise was a big focus for us during renovation so don’t worry about noise!

The cabin is just steps away from everything Glenwood has to offer...
The Red Mountain/Jeanne Golay hiking trail is literally across the street, providing panoramic views of the Roaring Fork Valley below. A short walk through the trees places you at Veltus Park, which lies along the Roaring Fork River for rafting, fishing or a cool dip in the water. And you'll find tennis and basketball courts there also.
PLUS just a short drive and you are in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley with all of it's skiing, rafting, hiking, rock climbing, and fine dining, including the glamour of Aspen or Vail.

Or you may choose to stay at the cabin to just sit back and relax on the porch or under the shade of the trees, enjoying the beautifully landscaped yard and the sound of the birds overhead.

The cabin is able to accommodate 4, as there is a loft with queen mattress OR use the pull out sofa in the living room.
However, when the living room couch is pulled out, there is little room for anyone to move about. and though the loft has a queen mattress on the floor, the ceiling is very low and there is no room for anyone to stand upright.

This was one of the first school houses up the creek in New Castle, and the only one preserved. It is comfy and has a nice deck for a fantastic view up the creek to the sunlight ski resort. It has family style sleeping upstairs and a futon down.

This renovated cabin was on skids, and we have added a beautiful sunroom/living area with a walk out grade patio to complete the design. It has solar power, with a back up generator..and has a pull out couch, as well as twins in each bedroom, so sleeping capacity is 6. We have a wonderful weber grill, as well as a fire pit on the patio, outside dining and a nice covered front porch, for shade in the hot afternoons...also has a gazebo, on the top of the goat pen here on the Ranch. Nice place for a nap, or practice your morning or evening yoga!

The Ponderosa Cabins, est.1939, offer their own kitchenettes, clean and well-appointed cabins for guests to enjoy the best of Glenwood Springs, with downtown being less than a 5-minute drive. Near the Glenwood Adventure Park and Hot Springs, amongst 17 total cabins on a 2-acre property, this location will soon be a destination for Western-style weddings, and large family retreats (coming soon!).

Each cabin has been remodeled and has a fresh twist on an old cabin. The decor will vary slightly, but we call our style "Rustic Luxury".
Cabin 2 "Hoss" has a Queen bed and all linens, a small living room area next to the bed with 2 chairs, as well as a small kitchen with cooking essentials, a small refrigerator, stovetop and oven, coffee machine and coffee, plates, cups and bowls for TWO, and a small dining area. Each cabin also has Wi-Fi, cable TV, and A/C. All cabins are quaint and cozy!
Guests will have their own entrance and separate living area to themselves. There are communal spaces in the grassy areas around the cabins, and guests may also use the Laundry Cabin, located in the center of the property. *This is NOT a pet-friendly cabin! Please check with us for pet-friendly cabins!

We are available any time need arises- just give us a call! Emergency numbers are posted in the cabins. There is also a full-time on-site manager in Cabin 16 if you need immediate assistance.

The Ponderosa Cabins are spread out over 2 acres, right off of Highway 6 (parallel to I-70) in West Glenwood Springs. Historic and iconic, this property feels like a little oasis in the city- and if you overlook the nearby hotels and roads, you might even feel like you are staying in a remote mountain getaway! Located about 2-3 minutes from the Iron Mountain Hot Springs Pool and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, 3-5 minutes to downtown Glenwood Springs and the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, and the Amtrack train station. A few short minutes away (walking) is the famous, "Vic's Charcoal Burger". Don't miss their delicious burgers, shakes, and fries- served from an iconic 1950's drive-through!

Private parking for each cabin (labeled) near the Laundry room (center of property). There is a Valley Taxi service, limited Uber/Lyft options, and a local bus that has a stop nearby (called "Ride Glenwood").

This property is in transition from long-term rentals to its original intent of short-term rentals. There are several cabins that still have long-term tenants, but we are gradually changing those over. Any feedback is appreciated - and we truly hope to make this a great stay for you! *This is NOT a pet-friendly cabin! Please check with us for pet-friendly cabins!

Keep in mind the easiest way to communicate with us is via VRBO messaging system; please use this message system, and we will respond promptly. Our goal is to keep our cabin well maintained and secure for all of our Guests. We want you to enjoy your visit; hopefully, these house rules will help you enjoy and understand our property. As a guest, I agree to the following terms and conditions:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Pet fee $150.
-No dogs left alone in unit. Please do not book if your dog can not be left in a crate.
-Absolutely no pets allowed on furniture especially the bed.
-Extra cleaning fee of fifty dollars per hour will be charged.
-No aggressive dogs allowed.
-Must be potty trained.
-Guests traveling with their pets are responsible for their pets and must keep them well behaved.
-No constant barking allowed.
-Dogs must be on a leash while outside unless approved by the owner.

2. The premises are to be used only as a private vacation residence for registered Guest (s). The Guest (s) will provide the Owner with a complete list of all occupants of the premises. The Tenant will not allow occupancy in the condo more than that agreed upon in the reservation. No Parties or group gatherings, other than registered Guest (s), shall occur. The maximum number of Guest (s) is four (4) persons.

3. The person booking the reservation must be over the age of 25 and be an occupant of the unit during the entire reserved period.

4. The river can be extremely dangerous, especially during high water in the springtime. Enjoy responsibly at your own risk.

5. There is a campfire down by the river that guests can use when legal. Again, use at your own risk. SMALL CAMPFIRES ONLY!

6. Smoking: 100% Smoke-Free premises. Guests (s) or Guest (s) of Guests cannot smoke anywhere on the property grounds, either inside our condo or outside. Please do not rent if you are a smoker even if you plan on smoking off the property. Any sign of smoking will result in an extra $500 cleaning fee.

7. Guests to maintain a clean environment outside. Food items should be kept inside to prevent attraction of bears. Please keep all cabin doors and vehicle doors locked at night to prevent any possibility of bear intrusions.

8. Check-­In/Check-­Out: Check-in instructions will be provided to you before your arrival. Check-in is at 4 PM MST. Check-out time is 11AM. MST. If you check out later than 11am, you must arrange with the manager or you will be charged an additional day. Early check-­in and late check­-out requests are available for an additional fee and may be added based upon availability. These requests must be made 24 hours in advance. Please message in writing.

9. If the cabin is left excessively dirty, we will charge an added check-out cleaning fee.

10. Any issues with the cabin need to be brought to our attention right away during your stay so that we can make it right.

11. Lost and Found Items: We are not responsible for lost items or damaged items. In addition to shipping and handling charges to return items left behind, we charge a $25 fee to look for and retrieve lost items.

12. Cancellations: Our cancellation policy follows VRBO's "strict cancellation policy" please refer to VRBO site in addition to this policy; we do not provide refunds for unforeseen developments of weather including rain or snow storms. We strongly suggest that you purchase private travel insurance.

13. No Daily Maid Service: We provide bed linens and towels. There is no daily housekeeping. For reservations 14 days or greater a mid-­stay clean is required for $150.

14. Guests Liability: Guests agree to accept liability for any damages caused to the property by guests or Guest's guests, including but not limited to landscaping, misuse of appliances, and equipment furnished. If damages are more than the damage waiver, the Guest agrees to reimburse owners for costs incurred to repair/replace damaged items. The rental is equipped for housekeeping with dishes, cookware, silverware, and glasses. Please do not remove any furnishings, equipment, or items from the unit, including any linen, dishes or other items from the unit.

15. Guest understands that there is no guaranty that properties adjacent to the cabin will be free from disturbances, including but not limited to noise or inconvenience from construction, traffic, or other guests or neighbors, and any such disturbance shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

16. Illegal and or Disruptive Activity: We reserve the right to remove any individual from the premises for any illegal or disruptive behavior on the premises. We reserve sole discretion in determining if a guest should be removed from the premises for illegal and or disruptive behavior. No arrest or conviction is necessary for us to remove an individual from the property. If an individual is removed from the property for such activity, no refund will be issued for money paid. Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We ask that everyone respect each other's privacy and quiet enjoyment by keeping music, televisions, etc. at a moderate level at all times.

17. Hold Harmless: Owners do not assume any liability for any loss, damage, or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither do we accept liability for any inconvenience arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity, or plumbing. We will use our best efforts to ensure that all equipment within the unit is in good working order, although neither Manager nor Owner guarantees that any equipment will not break down during your stay. In the event of a breakdown, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to remedy the situation as soon as possible after notification of the breakdown. Additionally, such a breakdown does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustments for any such mechanical failure. Nor will we accept liability for any loss or damage caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, or other reasons beyond our control.

18. Internet: We do not guarantee internet and cable connectivity. If there happens to be an issue with the service it often will be due to the provider and a tower being down and they promptly repair. The guest may contact the manager or owner to notify them of any issues. Guest understands that no refunds will be given for Internet connectivity issues or lack of service.

19. Walkways: The Guest is fully aware that the walkways can be dangerous, that they can be slippery when wet, and that injury is likely to occur to anyone not using caution. Guests should observe and adhere to all rules and policies as posted at the property. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned accepts and assumes all risks involved in or related to the use of walkways and stairs into the cabin.

Additional Terms and Conditions: The Guest, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges actual Owners from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of injury or whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold actual Owners free and harmless of any claim or suit arising there from. In any action concerning the rights, duties or liabilities of the parties to this Agreement, their Principals, agents, successors or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.

21. Natural Disaster Policy: We do not offer refunds or reschedule bookings due to any natural disaster activity. If you are concerned about the possible interruption, cancelation or delayed travel due to natural activates out of our control, you are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance at the time of booking. Without travel insurance, no refunds will be given for storms, wildfire evacuations, or natural disaster. We are not liable for events that may interfere with your scheduled occupancy, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government agencies, fire, strikes or terrorism, and war.

22. Guest(s) expressly recognize that any insurance for property damage or loss which the Owner may maintain on the property does not cover the personal property of Guest (s), and that they should purchase their own travel insurance if desired.

23. Again the Pet fee is $100. Guest(s) traveling with pets are responsible for their pets and must keep them well behaved. ABSOLUTLY NO DOGS ON BED. Pet hair is very time consuming to remove from blankets. They are to be on LEASH at all times while outside unless otherwise approved by the owner. There is wildlife and other distractions that could cause the pet to wander. They may never bother or approach wildlife. If there is any damage due to the pet the guest(s) are responsible for the cost to fix the damage. NO AGGRESSIVE dog is welcome on our property. THE ANIMAL MUST BE POTTY TRAINED TO BE ALLOWED.

Private parking for each cabin (labeled). There is a Valley Taxi service, limited Uber/Lyft options, and a local bus that has a stop nearby (called "Ride Glenwood").

The cabin was impeccably clean, and the layout made it perfect for our family of five. The host, Scott, was super gracious and made us feel welcome, the jar of honey was a great touch and also delicious. The cabin was stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen, and the gym was great to get in a workout. We loved the decor, such as the swivel chairs to enjoy company or turn and admire the view. Our only advice would be to take the Cattle Creek route on Google maps, its a bit longer drive but paved for majority with 2 car width throughout. We would definitely return—highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway!"

If you damage the cabin (including INDOOR SMOKING OF ANY TYPE- VAPE, MARIJUANA, CIGARETTES, ETC.), you may be charged $250 a minimum or more, or the actual cost of repairs/replacement of damaged property. There are OUTDOOR SMOKING AREAS ONLY AT EACH LOCATION.

- Pets must not be left unattended unless kenneled.

-Any disturbances such as barking must be curtailed to ensure other guests and/or neighbors are not inconvenienced.
- Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet.
- Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Host, the Host's property, its owners and its operators from all liability and damage suffered as a result of the guest's pet, and the Host reserves the right to charge guest's account commensurate to the cost of such damages if applicable.

This vintage cabin at the PONDEROSA LODGE in Glenwood Springs has been recently remodeled. Come stay at the Historic Ponderosa Lodge cabins, where the Old West meets modern-day with a fresh twist of whimsy. Pets welcome (on leash outside) with $20 pet fee per night. Rustic and playful, these cabins all have kitchens, queen beds, cable TV, and internet. Located just minutes from downtown Glenwood Springs. Private parking for each cabin.
