- "Since it was winter and Christmas, it was well decorated with lights. The main lodge was extremely inviting and comfortable. The breakfasts in the morning were well thought out and highly appreciated by guests. It was a busy place in the mornings. The staff kept up with the demands of changing out food and beverages very well. Cleanliness was appropriate especially if you were in a room with a dog. Everything was in proper working order. Staff provided my mother with a hiking pole so she could get around more safely without slipping due to the fast build up of ice due to the weather. We found our room easy to regulate the temperature and that was very nice because we were in Glenwood during a cold spell. All in all our stay was nice. We found our main lamp between the beds dusty with some minor cob webs. As well the shutters when opening needed some cleaning. When we placed the dog food bowl on our floor under the sink we had some very tiny ants quickly come in from underneath the wall molding. We wiped the ants up on cloth and took them outside. Once we picked up the bowl the ants stopped coming in. The grounds for Antlers looked mostly nice and cared for. As for concerns, the neighborhood was less encouraging for security. We noticed people walking through the grounds who seemed to be loitering and seemed somewhat suspicious. One evening there were people yelling and a large party going on across the street. We kept the room secured but still felt a bit uneasy. "

Breakfast When I go somewhere I always like to know if there's a breakfast included and what kind. There is a continental breakfast that includes things like coffee, muffins, oatmeal packets, etc. (no hot items such as eggs if you're looking for that.) The hotel The facilities are of the style and budget that you would find at places like motel 6, Super 8, etc. Our room was a double queen. I can't speak for every room. But the beds in our room are of the style of spring technology on par with what you find in a budget hotel. The room was very clean, bed and pillows were comfortable and better than I have experienced generally in budget hotels. In my conversations with Cliff, he shared with me that they recently started managing the hotel and they are working hard to give the entire hotel a "facelift." They just installed new key card systems and are in the process of renovating the rooms and bathrooms. While you can always find issues with any place if you look for it, I gave them top scores because of their quality of service and it is very apparent that the management and all staff are working hard to "right the ship.""
