After turning off 4 mile and driving over the creek, you will arrive at Casa del Sol by walking up flagstone patio steps and entering a spacious, sunny studio. There is a bedroom nook with a comfortable king size bed, a fully stocked kitchen, cozy kitchen table, and a large soft couch for relaxing. There is a spacious bathroom which includes a closet and a washer and dryer. The living space has multiple wide windows looking out to the mountains. You have your own balcony where you can enjoy the views of Mount Sopris. The vaulted 20-foot ceiling allows there to be a comfortable open loft accessible by a ladder where you will find a full bed and living space.
Casa del Sol is perfect if you are hoping to experience the mountain town life and yet be able to retreat to a quieter space - or if you want to be a 10-minute drive away from Sunlight Ski Resort. Casa del Sol is uniquely located between Glenwood Springs and Sunlight Mountain Resort- each one about 5 miles away on Four Mile Road.
Casa Del Sol is great for couples but can accommodate up to 4 guests. Please note, that Casa Del Sol has a studio style layout, thus privacy is limited if the group is more than a couple.
Please also note that the driveway serves 3 other residences, spread out on more than 10 acres (plus 10 acres of mountainside). The nearest house is 30 yards away. Casa Del Sol sits on top of a garage, which is simply used for storage (not cars). We live in the next house over, and we have great relationships with each of our neighbors. The families include children and a few friendly dogs.

Where the driveway crosses the creek, there is a small field on one side (for playing ball and running around), and on the other side an open area with horseshoes and creek access. This area is open to guests as well as neighbors (but you will usually have the space to yourself). There is no fishing at the creek (but there are several rivers in the area that boast world-class fly fishing). In the spring the creek will be much higher, slowing to a meandering stream in the summer.

In the summer, the hike up Ski Sunlight is beautiful and quiet - you will often find yourself the only one there. Four Mile Park offers hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. If you are a runner or biker- Dry Park Road is less than a mile up Four Mile, and offers 8 miles of compacted dirt road which meanders through open ranch land and sagebrush. You can access Carbondale if you keep driving, 11 miles total. This is near the Spring Gulch Nordic Ski Center, a wonderful place to classic or skate ski in the winter.

Ski Resorts: Ski Sunlight is a short ten-minute drive up the road. Sunlight offers a wide variety of terrain, with a friendly local charm.
Aspen is forty miles away - and boasts four world-class resorts - Snowmass, Highlands, Buttermilk and Ajax. The crowds in Aspen are minimal compared to the resorts closer to the front range.
For more world-class skiing, Vail and Beaver Creek are an hour away to the east.

***Special Note for winter guests - All wheel drive or four-wheel drive autos are required when staying in December, January, and February. Difficult conditions may also exist in November and March. We have the driveway professionally plowed and generally do not have problems. However, inappropriate cars can and do get stuck as elevation changes exist on the driveway as well as the possibility of slick ice and deep snow. Stuck cars do cause problems as the driveway services three separate properties. You are required to provide information about the cars that will be driven during the winter. Guests that become stuck are responsible for all associated costs.***

THE SPACE
The is an open floor plan with a comfortably furnished living room and a flat screen TV. There are two nicely appointed bedrooms with antique furnishings, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed and a twin bed. All new mattresses as of 2022!

The partial kitchen with a small breakfast bar area is equipped for preparing simple meals and there is additional outdoor seating for 6 and a gas grill to enjoy the beautiful river scenery. Adirondack chairs and a small picnic table are also available on the Roaring Fork River beach.

Enjoy time spent on the beautiful patio, casting a line or with a picnic dinner at the river's edge and experience total relaxation while listening to the soothing sounds of the rushing waters of the Roaring Fork River. Whether you seek an adventurous mountain getaway or a peaceful riverside retreat, this is the ideal home base!

The owners are part time residents and occasionally occupy the upper level of the home however there are no shared spaces and the apartment is completely separate and private.

All of the units have separate entrances and no shared indoor spaces. However, the units are adjoining, so there is some potential for noise (although we do ask all guests to please be mindful of one another by observing quiet time between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.). You may also see others enjoying their designated outdoor area on the property during your stay.

The owners occupy one unit for part of the year and will gladly offer any assistance. The other unit is another vacation rental. Larger groups are welcome to rent both units, which will accommodate up to eight (8) guests. Please inquire if interested.

Full size stocked kitchen and bathroom compliments this comfortable country studio apartment. Bed can be a king OR 2 twins for versatility for our guests as well as a queen size sofa bed, perfect for a small family or 3 adults. This is an open space studio, the only door/closed space is the bathroom. Unit offers blinds in all windows to give full privacy. Enjoy the outdoor patio, complete with BBQ, a pond view and garden are all part of the experience. Dog, cats, goats, chicken, geese, turkeys, pigs and cows all call this place home with our 4 children.
The apartment was the original garage turned into a mother in law suite by the previous owners. We currently remodeled to give a fresh modern feel and all the amenities to make it comfortable for guests. You have complete and sole access to the apartment. It is not a shared space, it’s equipped with all the items you need to cook meals, eat and relax.
A limited stock of supplies is provided for your stay; shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, paper towels, aluminum foil, ziplock bags, sugar, coffee, coffee filters, olive oil, and vinegar.
In our shop we run a construction business but have also created a relaxed hang out that includes pool table, foosball, ping pong, hot shot basketball, futon and TV.

This rural home is in the CO mtns and we share the space with many animals, we ask you are aware of leaving doors/windows open to assure those smaller critters do not make their way in. Keeping your area tidy with food both inside and out will help mitigate them also.

The apartment is a private, quiet space, facing our backyard that gives you a feeling of seclusion. The unit has one bedroom with a queen bed; however, we have an air mattress if needed, for an additional guest (please let us know if needed). The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need to cook meals. The patio space has two chairs and a picnic table, along with the private entrance to the unit. Please enjoy our radiant floor heat, which is especially nice in the bathroom on the tile floor! We have a washer/dryer available if needed, upon request.

There is a TV in the living room and also one in the bedroom, both are internet/app-based. The TV in the living room is a new Smart TV with various apps and a ROKU with channels. The TV in the bedroom has a ROKU with channels. Example media available is Netflix, Discovery+, Hulu, Peacock, Prime, ABC, NBC, ESPN, and more. If a desired channel is not available, we will do our best to add it for your stay!

Enjoy walking in our quiet little neighborhood on numerous walking/biking paths and explore the parks nearby. There is an off-leash dog park across the street. This private, locked off apartment is located on the lower floor of a two story home. There is a large patio area just outside the entrance door, complete with table and chairs, and access to the front yard. Please do not access the backyard or garage, as it is private.

I do live upstairs, and request quiet hours after midnight.

There are two free parking spaces: 1 in the driveway and 1 anywhere along the street curb. The driveway is fairly steep with no turnaround at the top, so if you are uncomfortable with backing down, I recommend parking at the bottom along the street and walking up. Otherwise, there is a parking spot available in the driveway at the base of the stairs, next to the blue and white trailer.

Please be respectful that I have a strict no-pet policy. If you are bringing a service animal, I would appreciate the heads up as I also have pets on the property who occasionally go outside. Both bedrooms are both nicely furnished with a queen bed and sitting area. The living room has a pull out sofa.

The well equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal. An outdoor gas grill is also available.

Start your day with a cup of warm coffee on the porch while enjoying the beautiful mountain views; and end it by watching a movie on the large flatscreen television or gathered around the fire pit, reminiscing about your day's adventures.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: This rental is one of three newly renovated units located in a single residence on a five acre parcel of land between New Castle and Silt, Colorado. Each unit has its own bedroom(s), bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. All of the units have separate entrances and no shared indoor spaces.
