Our Yurt is a perfect winter sojourn. We are in a finite zone where the high deserts soar up into the Rocky Mountains. Thus, the wonderful small town of Paonia is temperate in winter, with access to the best winter sporting one direction and calming desert in the other.
In Southwest Colorado 2 miles west of Paonia, is a Yurt nestled on a large wrap around redwood deck anchored by two mature Elms and is wonderful year round . and The building is situated in close proximity to the North Fork of the Gunnison River. The Yurt is a sanctuary far removed from neighbors and below the sight-line and activity of Highway 133.The property meanders above and below the Yurt for a quarter of a mile along the river’s edge. There are established wildlife corridors for Elk and Deer. Eagles, Red Tailed Hawks, and Blue Herons nest on the property or directly across the river. Robins routinely inhabit the trees directly above the sheltering Yurt.
When entering the 700 square foot Yurt, a 14’ high skylight inset in a mad array of knotty Aspen, draws you to its center. Here the fireplace anchors the middle and the remaining amenities unwind to the outside of the circumference. Here there is full ADA kitchen and ADA bathroom, queen size bed, dining table, and sitting area. The surrounding river, mountains and cultivated farmland can be viewed ten different ways through 8 windows and 2 French doors. The San Juan guest house has gravel driveway parking spaces that leads to your own private entrance. Although the guest house is connected to the main house it is not shared with the rest of the house and is locked off. Upon entering you will have a full kitchen with all the kitchen ware for cooking and eating. There is a living room for relaxing, a dining table for your meals or space for work. There are 2 bedrooms one with a new queen bed and the other is a new double bed that you can catch a good nights sleep on as well as a twin size futon for additional sleeping spots.
The Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park view is seen from the front of the house and is only a 20 minute drive to the south end road that goes to the main entrance. Ouray Hotsprings is about a 45 minute drive and in between you can visit the beautiful Ridgway State Park. The center of Montrose town is about an 8 mile drive where you have all of the major retail stores such as target, Walmart, fast food chains and more. I highly suggest visiting Main Street to shop at all of our wonderful local stores from gifts and coffee to local eateries. Last but not least try gazing on your porch!

This custom apartment at The Cedaredge Lodge is our crown jewel! It features stunning woodwork throughout, 2 private balconies, a wood stove, a beautiful kitchen and dining area and an upscale bathroom. The upstairs has a king bedroom and a unique catwalk to a loft with two covertable queen chairs. The bedroom on the main floor has two twin beds and plenty of storage space. There is a sofa in the living area.

We have a 750sq foot Carriage House that is cute as can be! It has one bedroom with a queen bed, big full kitchen, bathroom with a shower, an up very narrow stairs a tv/sitting room with a couch that can be made into a bed. Cable, WiFi, use of the hot tub on the propert, and a private parking space. We are in the heart of Downtown Montrose just across the street from our local coffee Shop and just a few doors down from the local home/Brew Pub.

- "It's a bit smaller inside than we thought but was fine for our needs. Main floor is bedroom, kitchen, & bath. Living room is a loft/attic upstairs. Very steep stairs and very low ceiling. Good for kids. Was summer so enjoyed our breakfasts on the porch with a view of interior yard between main house and carriage house which was quite pleasant. Hot tub was a bit hidden in the grape arbor but was a lovely early morning respite. Brewpub 2 doors down and coffee across the street were both good choices. Kitchen is well equipped including a dishwasher which is always nice. Bed is comfortable and shower pressure is good & big towels always seem to make things pleasant."

Apartment is newly remodeled space in the main house. The house is on 4 acres working farm that has other rental cabins and glamping tents. It is situated in a rural setting with nearby farms, orchards, vineyards and public lands.

Within a mile of the farm are 5 wineries and the town of Paonia. Some guest walk, ride bikes or book the local Colorado Detours shuttle. But most drive their personal vehicles. While the wineries are fairly close in proximity, steep roads must be negotiated to access them.

Fort Austin is friendly pet friendly. This place is designed to offer your well-behaved pup a vacation also. Our insurance company does not allow us to host pit bulls, german shepherds, wolf hybrids, dobermans or rottweilers.

Note: Fort Austin is a working farm/orchard/vineyard, to keep it green and productive the sprinklers will be operating 24/7 from April thru August. While sprinklers are irritating to some, they are cathartic and peaceful to others. Guests are welcome to move sprinklers or turn one off, altogether if they find them to be irritating in any way.

Walk into this space and feel the mountain theme greet you as you relax from your adventures of the day. The perfect base camp for hiking in the San Juans, fishing the Gunnison River, visiting the Black Canyon, or just visiting friends, our apartment offers the fastest Wi-Fi around (Elevate Fiber), your own entrance and parking spot, with kitchenette and full bathroom. Cooking options include a hot plate, microwave, and Instant Pot with air fryer functions.

Sink into the queen sized bed and enjoy the comfort it provides. We know a comfortable bed is important, and we love our personal mattress so we bought one just like it for this space. There is also a queen sized sofa bed that has a 5" memory foam mattress, and as sofa beds go, it's quite comfortable!

This apartment was just built in 2020, and is a "bonus room" above our personal garage. You will have your own entry and parking spot. There are stairs to access the apartment.

There is a big window with nice views out the one end of the apartment. You will also have your own thermostat with heat and A/C available.

Landscaping has recently been completed and is beautiful.

Baby accessories are available if requested. (PackNPlay, stair gate, etc)

Location: We are located several miles west of Montrose, right off Spring Creek Rd. in a small subdivision with three houses. Our house is the tall, grey stucco house in the middle.
Easy access to:
MTJ - 8 min; GJT 1hr 15 min; Ridgway 35 min; Ouray 45 min; Telluride 1 hr. 30 min.
Laundromat and car wash are 5 minutes away, Montrose Hospital is 10 minutes away, Cobble Creek golf course is 5 minutes away.

There is a fire pit in the backyard, a garden area to walk through, and a professional level sand volleyball court, all available for use with prior permission. We do use these ourselves, but if we aren't using them we're happy to share them with you!

Avery`s Escape is a deluxe suite with full bath, kitchenette, living room and bedroom. The private entrance is right off the huge log porch where guests will find deck furniture to enjoy the incredible views and cool breezes. The bedroom window seat just may be the best place to curl up with a book. High speed internet provides very fast upload and download speeds for the digital nomad. A walk in the hay field at night opens to the night sky crowned by the Milky Way. Your pup will be able to stretch their legs for a run in the orchard.

Guests tend to hang out on the huge log porch or the redwood deck that serves as the pavilion stage. The common area fire pit and porch swing is becoming a guest favorite. The entire property is 4 acres and guests are welcome to walk the field, lounge on the porch or relax in the shade of the pavilion. Fort Austin is a small event venue, occasionally you might encounter guests attending a concert, art event, reunion or meeting. Events are limited to 85 decibels, 10pm finish and parking away from cabins and apartments.

Tim loves interacting with guests who desire the same. Great conversation, life stories, funny events, and deep questions are welcome here. Bring a cigar, sip a cognac, share a beer and make new friends.

Averys Escape is located on Fort Austin, a 4-acre working farm. It is nestled among small farms in a rural setting. Orchards, vineyards, pastures and wild lands surround the property.

Most guests drive their personal vehicles to get around this area. Although 5 wineries are within a mile, steep grades make for tough hiking, but some guests are able to handle it.

Fort Austin is friendly pet friendly. We welcome well-behaved pups and felines. But our insurance company does not allow pit bulls, wolf hybrids, german shepherds, rottweilers or dobermans. This place is designed for relaxation, peace, and quiet. People and pets who fit into that vision are welcome here.
Fort Austin is a small event venue, occasionally you might encounter guests attending a concert, art event, reunion or meeting. Events are limited to 85 decibels, until 10pm quiet time.

Note: Fort Austin is a working farm/orchard/vineyard, to keep it green and productive the sprinklers will be operating 24/7 from April thru August. While sprinklers are irritating to some, they are cathartic and peaceful to others. Guests are welcome to move sprinklers or turn one off, altogether if they find them to be irritating in any way.

This stylish place to stay is perfect for traveling nurses and people with internships. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you will need for an extended stay. The view of the San Juan mountains is spectacular. It has its own entrance and plenty of parking. There is a workspace available with WiFi available.

The space
The apartment has its own entrance with a handicap capability. There is a wrap around deck to view the San Juan mountains. The property has 350 degree views. You enter into a great room with a small but well equipped kitchen, a coat closet a sitting area and a beautiful pool table. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a desk at the end of it. The bathroom is beautifully tiled and has a walk in shower. The dressing area has a wardrobe and a full length mirror.

You will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located cozy basement. Two blocks to Grand Ave where you'll have everything a rural town has to offer at your fingertips. One bedroom with a king-sized bed. Couch in living room has a hideaway queen-sized bed. Kitchenette has small appliances and induction cooktops but no stove. I live upstairs with two children who are home half of the week. I will make sure they are respectful and conscientious but there may be noise.

The space
Private entrance to the basement apartment that has a comfortable living room, bedroom with a king-sized memory foam bed, a locking door and a spacious bathroom (which is only accessible through the bedroom). The couch has a hideaway bed that can sleep 2 people and the chaise has room for a child. I have comfortable memory foam blow-up mattresses in case anyone doesn't want to share a bed and you need more accommodations. Smart TV. Kitchenette. Bathtub. Small desk to work at.

Guest access
The basement apartment is your humble abode and there is a private entrance via the exterior stairwell. Note there is a light-switch at the top of the stairs outside as well as a light-switch inside by the front door that will light up the stairwell if you need it. Being a dark-sky community, it's nice if you can turn it off while you're not using it.

Other things to note
I use natural products when cleaning the bedding and space. I don't use dryer sheets. There is a spout at the kitchenette sink for filtered drinking water.

I allow dogs but ask that you put down pet sheets that are provided on the furniture and wipe paws that might be dirty. Everything you need is inside the bench seat at the front door.

There is an alarm clock for you to use that also functions as a white noise machine.

We are an unique lodge on the southeast edge of Montrose, Colorado. Our location is convenient to Ridgway, Ouray, and Telluride, and is only 30 miinutes fromthe Black Canyon visitor's center. In the summer we have a large organic garden as well as many places to sit outside and enjoy the views of the San Juans.

The space
IMPORTANT: Make certain to take a photo or print check in instructions before you arrive as the internet can be spotty especially if you have Version!!!

1) The TV is meant to roll so it can be viewed from the couch or the queen bed. **Be mindful of the extension cords when the TV is moved as it lays across the floor and can pull the TV off the stand and be in your walking path.

2)The Smart TV has free programming but no local channels. You can log into your Netflix, Hulu, etc. with your login and passwords. Don’t forget to log out!

3) There is WiFi access. Passwords provided in guest information book.
The cell coverage in Paonia can be spotty at times.

4) Please let us know immediately if you see any problems with the apartment.

5) Trash. If you have excess trash there is a trash can labeled "1" near the parking area

6) Please enjoy the balcony with no more than 6 people at one time.

Other things to note
The trundle bed in the living room can be made into two twins or a king bed. For king bed slide the lower bed out, and look for the perpendicular tabs which hold the two bars under the mattress apart. Hold the tabs out of the way and squeeze the bars together. While holding the bars together, gently lift the whole thing and the bed will pop up to the height of the other bed. Look for a strap and a padded center space filler in the dresser. Strap mattresses together and put king sheets on, which are in chest next to the trundle bed.

The Loft on Grand can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children.
The Brick building was constructed in 1908 and has 3 residence on the second floor where our loft is located. The main floor is a commercial space, where a Physical Therapist and performance trainer work on keeping Paonia healthy.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The carriage house was just recently remodeled and guests moved in immediately without ever placing an add. Unfortunately we did not get final furnished photos, but will update this weekend after move out. This is a real gem centrally located in easy walking distance of local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries and more.

Due to safety considerations, we are not suitable for children under 12 or animals. One of our dogs can be territorial around other animals, although she is fine around people. You will enjoy the privacy of the 2nd floor suite all to yourselves. There is a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and a small refrigerator in the kitchenette for your convenience, plus a bbq grill on the deck. This is a brand new build that was just finished in June of 2023. There’s 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two twin beds. 1 full bathroom with shower including a tub. There’s a full size kitchen that is fully stocked and a washer and dryer is also included. There’s a tv with Roku in the living room and dining table that seats 4.

The Loft is located in a small neighborhood at the end of the gravel drive. The living space is above a detached garage, with the entry on the backside. Outside the loft there is a large parking space that could accommodate 2-3 vehicles. There is availability to park a trailer upon request.

Other things to note
As you climb the stairs to the front door, there is a deck with chairs to enjoy the view of the creek that runs through the back of the property, and the trees that surround it. Just off of the parking area, there is a fire pit situated next to the creek. The creek is a decent size and moves quick. Please keep a close eye on children and dogs, as the creek can be dangerous.

If you are traveling with we kids, there are baby/toddler travel essentials available upon request (Pack n play, bouncer, baby gate, etc.)

The space is new construction within an existing building, has high ceilings, big south facing windows and is generally bright and airy. This is the downstairs apartment with "The Loft" being available to rent on Airbnb as well.

Welcome to our charming and cheerful two-bedroom apartment in the heart of Montrose! Attached to our 100+ year old house, this upstairs unit features a sunny deck, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or al fresco dining. Inside, you'll find a comfortable queen bed in one bedroom and a bunk bed with a full and twin mattress in the other, as well as a full-size sofa bed in the living room. With room for up to 5 guests, we've found that it best fits families or up to 3 adults comfortably.

Inside the apartment, you'll find all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. There's a stocked kitchen, full bathroom with a shower (it's compact but functional), and even a washer and dryer, so you can pack light and have everything you need right at your fingertips. This secluded loft studio is at the end of a private road with a private entrance. We are members of the dark skies community making star gazing truly special here. The loft studio is very spacious with vaulted ceilings finished in shiplap wood making the space warm and inviting. This new construction has a great kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. And all the amenities to cook full meals. There’s a dedicated workspace, bathroom with full tub and washer/dryer.

The space
The loft studio is above a large garage behind the main house. After driving by the main house, and parking, you will have total privacy to the loft as its entrance is at the back of the garage. We live on a small Mesa with around 7 households. We know all of our neighbors and would ask that you drive slowly to respect the safety of their dogs and kids as well as drive slowly by our main house. Please also watch for any deer on the road.

The loft is above our garage. We occasionally will be opening the garage door which would make a bit of noise. The parking area you have is large enough for a pull behind camper, horse trailer, boat trailer ect.
