Live like a local in our cozy little cottage! We renovated a garage which is located by our house on 10 acres of land and recently put in a seating area with Pergola.
Our land is south facing on a mesa with a beautiful view of the mountains. We grow 5 acres of medicinal herbs, vegetables and berries. Lots of coming and going on the farm so hopefully you like people and be prepared for a lot of activity. Looking forward to hosting you:)

The space
There are two rooms that are rented to guests and two rooms that are private. There is a 3/4 bathroom upstairs that is shared and has extra toiletries, towels, shampoo etc.
There is a 1/2 bath downstairs, through the laundry room that is shared and there is a door connecting through to the full bedroom.
Each room has a mini-fridge for your use, and you may also use the kitchen and fridge if you would like. I would appreciate you letting me know if you need fridge space ahead of time so I can clear a spot!
There will be coffee and tea each morning that you can help yourself to.

Guest access
The queen room is up the stairs and to the left as well as a shared bathroom directly across from this room. The other two rooms are private spaces - owners' bedroom and a storage room.

The double bed room is directly in front of the entrance door. It has a 1/2 bath that is shared by the owner and other guests. We ask that you don't lock this door when not in use.

There are motion lights leading up to the upstairs as well as a light switch at the bottom and top of the stairs.

Other things to note
I have a Australian shepherd dog named Sophie. I try to never leave her alone in the house if guest are coming. If you do hear her bark, just say her name and she will stop and probably bring you her Frisbee or just want a pet.

There is also a cat named Fred who comes in to eat.
She has recently been spoiled and thinks the whole house is hers but feel free to lock her out of your room if she is bothersome. I try to keep all doors closed so she isn't laying on the bedding at any time.

Beautiful and secluded guest house on the outskirts of Paonia, Colorado. Recently refurbished from floor to ceiling with recycled Bamboo flooring and zero VOC paint plus recycled and vintage fixtures. 10 minute walk or 3 minute bike ride to downtown Paonia. Our cottage features a walk in shower, queen bed, loveseat and kitchenette plus a beautiful flagstone patio. The Cottage features endless hot water, Roku TV, private patio, and a serene setting. A kitchenette is available with: Toaster, electric hotplate, tea maker, coffeemaker, microwave, and pots and pans for simple instant style meals. Free wifi and private parking is provided as well. This cottage is on the same property and is adjacent to our home. The cabin known as the "Gingerbread House" is entirely yours! *The Gingerbread House has no kitchen, bath or running water, but you can access the main house, (30 feet away) for amenities. The main house space includes three rooms guest can feel free to use: a kitchen, bath and an open studio great for artistic pursuits or leisurely activity!

The premises has a private feel with an earthen "Art Wall" surrounding the yard, and the building is only a few short minutes away from all the best places Paonia has to offer (such as the flying Fork right next door).

IMPORTANT
*The Gingerbread House sleeping arrangements is in loft with A nice wood VERTICAL LADDER so you will need to be comfortable climbing up and down. Yes, there is a railing so when your sleeping you can rest comfortably and not worry!

The Gingerbread House is a great spot for a week or weekend get away with a partner or solo! Rest, relax, read, hike, explore The Heart of Paonia or The Rocky Mountains! Day trip or head to The Hot Springs!

Our guest house was built in 2009 to accommodate the touring Tibetan monks who visit us most summers. It features high ceilings, lots of windows, a comfortable queen bed, and nooks inside and out for reading, dozing, and relaxing. "Much bigger than expected!" our guests say. Steps to hiking paths and mountain bike trails on public land. Loaner bikes for guests! One mile from downtown P-town. We use unscented cleaning supplies and hang sheets and towels to dry outside in the Colorado sunshine. Good internet, a huge library, but no phone or TV.
