This Log Cabin has a open floor plan and large windows to view wildlife. There are two separate sleeping quarters, one in the loft, the other is on the main level. This cabin is most comfortable for a small family or two couples, but can sleep up to 6 people with need sharing including a queen air mattress upon request. There is both a cozy pellet stove and a wood fire place, and spacious outside deck. It is tucked in an aspen grove so plenty of wildlife can be viewed walking around the full acre property. The cabin is near recreation areas for fishing, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, off roading, geocaching, historical and scenic treasures. A perfect oasis to disconnect from busy city life and reconnect with the rustic quiet beauty of nature.

Winter is approximately late November through early April, during this season Roads are closed to road vehicles. Only tracked vehicles (snowmobiles) or skies are allowed. Winter parking lot is about 5 miles from Cabin. Bring your own snowmobiles/skies or rent snowmobiles in the neighborhood!

There is a huge construction project on HWY 50 which restricted our travel. However on our 2nd day they opened up travel south on HWY 50 to Arrowhead guests and owners to once an hour which was very helpful. Our flagger Sharon was a hoot and had a lot of knowledge about the area as well. We did not want to come home. 7 nights past by so quickly. If you are thinking about a quiet vacation with no interruptions book here! I promise you will not find a better place."

Please be advised that during these heavy snowfall months, you will need to make arrangements for snowmobile or side by side travel to and from the cabin to the winter parking lot where you must park your vehicle during your stay. The winter parking lot is located at the top of the Alpine Plateau Road.

This beautiful cedar cabin is located on a one acre wooded lot in Arrowhead Subdivision in the heart of the San Juan Mountain Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 9300 feet. All utilities are underground so none of the fantastic views are marred by power lines. The home rests in a clearing at the center of the lot in order to maximize views. The rest of the property is set in a combination of majestic dark timber and quaking aspen.

There are two Master Suites, each with attached full bath.

The completely furnished kitchen and dining room includes pots, pans, standard small appliances and table service for eight. All bed and bath linens are provided, so just bring your groceries and personal care items, such as bath soap and shampoo, to complete your home-away-from-home experience!

Beds are wonderfully comfy and each queen-sized master suite is separated from the other, providing both privacy and an enhanced sense of solitude for our guests. There are also 2 queen-sized beds in the spacious loft with great views of the San Juan Mountains, so the cabin comfortably sleeps 8 guests.

The fireplace in the great room adds both warmth and gracious ambiance. Prop your feet up in the lazy boy chairs and just let your cares melt away. Games and a full library of great books are available to enjoy. There is a smart TV in the great room. Simply sign in to your personal account to access any streaming apps to which you are subscribed. There is also a DVD player available if you wish to bring a favorite movie from home. WI-FI is available also!

Large decks grace the front and back of this home, An outdoor barbecue and dining table are ready for your picnic meals. Please remember to purchase propane for the grill as we are unable to provide it locally.

Great hiking, biking, ATV-ing adventures start right outside the front door. Our guests are provided with a fishing pass for the lakes in the development. Contact Security to have your pass issued. Wildlife is abundant in this rural development. Keep your eyes peeled for elk, deer and birds!

Boat owners can fish Blue Mesa Reservoir (12 miles away) or Silver Jack Reservoir (25 miles away) and bank fishing at both locations is also available.

Don't forget to visit The Arrowhead Mountain Lodge during your stay. The charming decor and meals for those days when you don't feel like cooking are a real treat and the Lodge is right in the neighborhood!

- "The cabin was very nice, well designed and quiet. Very spacious and had every amenity that we needed. Two things to keep in mind about this place are the showers/bathtubs are above average in height. I'm fairly mobile and it took some care to get in and out. Someone with mobility restrictions might struggle with safely entering and exiting the shower. The other thing to consider is getting to the cabin from Hwy 50 is the most convenient option. We came in about 7:45 and found out Hwy 50 closed at 7:00. We had to bribe the highway crew (literally with money) to allow us to travel the 3.5 miles down the closed road or be forced to find an alternative route. With a 20' trailer behind me, I would have found out the hard way in the dark that CR 867 would have been a very bad choice. It is a very pretty drive down to Lake City that way, but the last 3 or so miles have switchbacks that I would most likely not have made with my trailer. The cabin was very nice and as advertised. The only issue was the road closure that worked out eventually, but it could have been disastrous if they didn't let us through. If the road construction and closure would have been communicated to us, we would have been there earlier. Other than that, it is in a very pretty area with lots of mule deer roaming early and late in the day."

The Blue Bear Cabin is a quiet, comfortable home base for your outdoor adventures and a peaceful place to reconnect with family and friends. Located a few miles outside of Cedaredge, on the southern slope of the Grand Mesa, convenient to nordic and alpine skiing, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Watch deer stroll through your amazing view of the Mesa during the day, and enjoy awesome stargazing around the firepit at night.
The cabin kitchen is fully equipped to cook up some great meals, down to Tupperware and plastic wrap in the drawers. There's an instant pot, crockpot, waffle iron, blender, immersion blender, electric griddle, toaster, and plenty of pots, pans, and mixing bowls. Outside is a Weber gas grill.
Lift up the lid of the trunk in the living room to find an assortment of games and activities for all ages. The cabin sleeps four comfortably; five if one is a small child sleeping on the Regalo My Cot.
There's plenty of room to park your trailer by the cabin; just stay on the gravel. And no special vehicle is necessary; the roads are plowed and slopes are gentle right to the front door.
Let us know prior to check-in if you'd like to use the child's cot, highchair, or dog crate during your stay so we can have them in the cabin when you arrive.
For our guests staying more than seven nights, we offer a complementary linen change and light cleaning at the halfway point, or every seven days. Arrange a mutually convenient four-hour window with us.
The entire cabin and environs are for your use. The 10-acre lot (shared with our house) is bordered by Timothy Rd. to the north, the fence line to the east in back of the cabin, and the fence line running along the west side at the entry to the property. The south side has no fence, but if you reach the neighbor's house you've gone too far. :)

This is no ordinary YURT! The YURT at Screwball Ranch is Off-the-Grid but large (over 900 square feet – including the loft) and contains a complete 3/4 bath, fully equipped kitchen (propane range and oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils, etc. - no dishwasher, but Hey - it's a Yurt), open living area, wood stove, propane heater, solar electricity (generator backup), large deck, enclosed entryway, and adequate storage space. The cabin is about 1 mile off Alpine Plateau Road and 6.5 miles off Highway 50.

Spring/Summer and early Fall:
Guests enjoy fishing at private mountain ponds, abundant scenery with nearby COBDR trails, ATV routes, hiking, and biking trails. Since the lakes are private property you will not need a Colorado fishing license. Guests will also enjoy wildlife viewing and stargazing next to the fire pit or on the large deck.

On Saturdays during the Summer there is live music at the restaurant which also offers great food. Hours fluctuate depending on time of year.

Winter:
Winter is very special at Arrowhead as the internal community roads close to vehicles once there’s adequate snow. This is typically 12/1 - 4/15 and depends on the weather. Internal cabin community roads are open only to snow machines, x-country skis, snowshoes and foot travel. Inquire before booking. When the internal community roads close, guests will park in the Winter parking lot and use your snowmobile, skis or snowshoes to scoot to the cabin. The cabin is about 1 mile (approx. 30 minutes to snowshoe) from the winter parking lot. The internal roads and winter parking lot are typically groomed but often covered with fresh powder snow. We recommend at least AWD in the winter parking lot due to snowy conditions.

Cell phone coverage is spotty at best. AT&T seems to work some, especially from the south west corner of the deck.... but hey aren't you looking forward to getting away from all that! We do have a land line at the cabin for safety.

Arrowhead Mountain development is halfway between Montrose and Gunnison on the flanks of Uncompahgre Peak. Deer and elk abound in the open sage meadow / aspen / spruce evergreen forests around the property. There are also two lake locations where kids can fish. The house itself is exceptionally well preserved and was extremely clean. The kitchen is fully appointed so you do not have to go out at all. The four bedrooms are comfortable and the house is designed for a charming cross breeze. The patio overlooking the view is also lovely! We hope to return."

There are 3 private lakes in the subdivision, hiking, walking, four wheeling, fishing, mountain biking, sightseeing. Blue Mesa Reservoir is approximately 15 miles away, the breathtaking Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument is 28 miles away. There are airports in Gunnison and Montrose which are approximately 40 miles each way.

This beautiful ranch style log cabin has an open floor plan. Each room has large windows for viewing the forest and wildlife. Oak flooring is throughout the cabin. The very large covered front and back porches are great places to watch wildlife or sit back and relax. There is a propane outdoor grill, tables and lots of seating including rocking chairs and a swing. On the east side of the cabin is a sun deck with lounge chairs for your enjoyment, and at the backdoor is another large, covered porch with table and chairs for your relaxation. A large firepit with split firewood is for campfires and nighttime relaxing.

The kitchen is modern with all the amenities you would need; granite counter tops, double door refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, two ovens, microwave, Keurig coffee maker. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, crock pot, blender, toaster, cooking utensils, spices, coffee, and tea.

The dining area has a beautiful aspen table for eight. The dining room table is ideal for the selection of games and puzzles kept at the cabin.

In the living room area is a wood stove with plenty of split wood and fire starter. Living room seating includes a couch, love seat, and two recliners. The smart, large screen tv includes Disney, Netflix, Roku and DirectTV. There is a DVD player for those that want to watch movies or play music. Free WIFI is available for your cell phone and computer.

The two bedrooms each have beautiful aspen framed queen beds. The main bathroom has a bathtub with shower, and granite topped vanity. The washer and dryer are in the main bathroom. There is an additional half bath located off the great room.

Black Canyon National Park, Curecanti National Recreation Area, Blue Mesa Reservoir, San Juan Mountains and the towns of Gunnison, Crested Butte, Montrose, Ouray, Lake City and Telluride are nearby. The Black Canyon National Park is approximately a 50-minute drive from the cabin where you can explore and hike the deepest canyon in Colorado. Blue Mesa Reservoir is approximately a 30-minute drive where you can rent boats and fish for world record lake trout. Gunnison and Montrose are approximately a 50-minute drive in either direction. Crested Butte, Ouray, and Lake City are 1.5 hours away from the cabin.

At the cabin, guests have access to the Arrowhead Mountain Inn, which is a 20-minute walk. Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Friday. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served on Saturday and Sundays. The lodge has a full bar and during summer months, there is free musical entertainment.

Before arriving to the cabin, make sure you stop at a grocery store in either Gunnison or Montrose to get supplies including gas and food.

Cell phone service is intermittent. The cabin has free Wi-Fi. Guests should enable or setup Wi-Fi calling on their cell phones. There are USB outlets in the living room, kitchen, and both bedrooms. A computer work desk is in the main bedroom. There is an outdoor security camera on the property.

Winter at Arrowhead is a special time. The internal community roads close to wheeled vehicles approximately December 1st until mid-April, depending on the amount of snow. In winter the roads are open to snowmobiles, cross country skis, snowshoes and foot travel. Inquire before booking. Guests need to park in the Winter parking lot and use snowmobile, skis or snowshoes to go the .5-mile groomed trail to the cabin. Snowmobiles can be rented locally ahead of time from Arrowhead Mountain Adventures (www.alpineplateau.com). Shuttle service is available for an extra fee and must be arranged in advance.

There is a smart TV in the bedroom. Downstairs there is a futon if you need more sleeping space then what is upstairs. There is a 65-inch smart TV in the living room with Netflix. There is Wi-Fi in the cabin and also a desk for a work area. There is base board heat and also a wood burning stove in the living room. In the kitchen you will find a small table for dining, a coffee station with a Keurig and all different kinds of coffee and hot coco. There is a microwave, and an oven/air fryer, there a normal stove top for cooking and a full side refrigerator. Also, a washer and driver in the hall closet. There is a Grill on the porch and a firepit in the back yard.

You have the whole cabin to yourself. The cabin sits on almost an acre. There is one neighbor on one side but not close.
There is very spotty cell service depending on your carrier. The Wi-Fi works great for Wi-Fi calling.
Other things to note
This cabin is within Arrowhead, a mountain home community located between Gunnison and Montrose, south of highway 50 on the Alpine Plateau Road. From May, into November, the cabin is accessible by car. When there is adequate snow, usually in November, the roads within Arrowhead are closed to car and truck traffic. During winter, when the internal roads are closed, you need to park at the winter parking lot and traverse the remaining 1/4 mile to the cabin by snowmobile, snowshoe, of skis. The cabin is not far from the winter parking area after the trails for the snowmobiles has formed you can walk in with just snow boots. Snowmobiles can be rented from Arrowhead Mountain Adventures located next to Arrowhead Mountain Inn.

There are 2 lakes that are stocked to fish and tons of forest to explorer. Blue mesa lake is 17 miles away as well as Lake City. Ouray is a 1.5-hour drive away.

This cozy mountain getaway is located in the heart of the Colorado San Juan Mountain Range, halfway between Montrose and Gunnison off Hwy50. This cabin has all the comforts of home, but set apart at 9,000 ft. elevation surrounded by acres of quaking aspen, majestic pines, natural mountain lakes and wildlife. Paradise to all the hikers, bikers, ATV'ers, fisherman, hunters, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers out there! Come, stay, re-charge and enjoy all that nature has to offer

The space
This 3,000 sq. ft. cabin features 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests. Whether you want to host a large family gathering or enjoy the space with friends, there is more than enough room to accommodate. Kids will love the bunk room in the loft with attached playroom, private bathroom, and smart television and DVD player for movies (bring your own movies). The master features a king bed with private access to a bathroom. The additional private guest suite on the main floor has a queen bed. Guests who stay in the basement will enjoy private access to their own bathroom.

The great room features a large leather sectional, wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen that overlooks unobstructed magnificent mountain views. Enjoy dining inside or outside on the deck. An outdoor grill is available for your use (propane provided). If you’re quiet, you might spot an animal or two, or three!

Want a break from the kids? No problem, send them down to the walk-out basement to the fully outfitted game room featuring a pool table, big screen tv, wet bar and collection of card and board games. Perhaps the crisp mountain air is calling for a fire in the outdoor fire pit. The cabin has roasters for you to roast your hot dogs and marshmallows! Please note that dogs are not allowed.

This cabin has all the amenities available for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Just bring your own food, belongings and personal care items including bath soap and shampoo as those are not supplied. The cabin also has a washer and dryer for your laundry needs.

Things to Do:

Do you like to hunt? The cabin during the FALL can’t be beat! It is in Unit 66 and on the border of Unit 65. There's plenty of hiking, biking, off-roading and fishing left to do during the months of September and October too.

The WINTER is a snowmobile paradise!! Enjoy 32 miles of groomed snowmobile trails on the Alpine Plateau courtesy of the Arrowhead Snowmobile Club. Check their website at arrowheadsnowmobile.org for maps and more information about snowmobiling in the area. Don’t have your own snowmobiles? Rent some at Arrowhead Mountain Adventures. Check their website at alpineplateau.com for more information. Maybe snowshoeing or cross-country skiing is more your vibe, there are miles of groomed trails for that too! We have a fleet of adult cross-country skis and boots for you to use! Don't forget to bring a sled for the kids too!

In the SUMMER, enjoy great hiking, biking, off-roading, and fishing right as you walk out the front door. Hazel Lake is a short walk from the cabin where you can enjoy the beautiful views or fish for free without state licensure using our guest pass. Please note that swimming is restricted in this lake and others in the area. Enjoy free outdoor concerts at the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge 1.8 miles down the road every Saturday night in the Summer from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Don’t feel like cooking? Arrowhead Mountain Lodge has you covered at their in-house restaurant and bar. Check their hours of operation at all that they have to offer at arrowheadmtnlodge.com. If you enjoy ATV-ing, the 1.5 hour off-road drive to Lake City may interest you where you can access Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass or the Alpine Loop. Please note that you will need to trailer your off-road vehicles to access these trails. Off road vehicles are not permitted on roads in Colorado. There is a short section before Lake City where off road vehicles are not allowed. Arrowhead Mountain Adventures has off-road vehicles to rent.

The cabin is 32 miles away from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and 12 miles away from Blue Mesa Reservoir where you can enjoy recreational boating or fishing. The closest resorts are Crested Butte (1.5 hours East) and Telluride (2 hours
West) where you can enjoy skiing in the Winter and a variety of activities in the Summer.

* In the WINTER, approximately late November through early April, all homes in the Arrowhead Development in Cimarron are CLOSED to road vehicles. Alpine Plateau Road (off US Hwy 50 in Little Blue Canyon) is plowed up to the Winter parking lot where you can park your road vehicles (5.5 miles from Hwy50). From there, the cabin is 1.8 miles away accessible ONLY by snowmobile, snowshoes, skis or securing a shuttle. If you don’t own or bring any of these, make reservations at Arrowhead Mountain Adventures (alpineplateau.com) at least 4 weeks or 48 hours before your stay. Be advised that we will require confirmation of snowmobile rentals 4 weeks prior or 48 hours if booked within 4 weeks prior to your stay. If we are unable to get confirmation from you, we may need to cancel your reservation.

Other things to note:
* NO SMOKING of any kind (tobacco, marijuana, vaping, etc.) is allowed in the cabin OR on the property at any time.

*Pets are NOT allowed. Violators of this rule will incur an automatic $300 fine.

*The nearest store (of any kind) is 30+ miles away through mountain terrain. Shop for food or other needed supplies BEFORE you arrive. There is a large pantry and fridge for you to store all your food and supplies. If you do find yourself in a pinch, Arrowhead Mountain Lodge has a very limited list of things available: milk, soda, bread, and cheese. They have also been so kind to sell small quantities of flour or sugar if you forgot some.

*Internet is available at the cabin, but cell phone coverage is limited.

*Be aware that this cabin is in a remote location and the main road to get there (Alpine Plateau Road off Hwy 50) is an uphill dirt road and may become slick in the winter, especially during a snowstorm. It is plowed and maintained during the winter, but make sure you check the weather report before you come and drive appropriate vehicles for the conditions.

To your left lies another love seat that pulls out to a twin bed. In the right corner, you are greeted with an oversized chair and ottoman, the perfect place to catch up on some reading. Nestled at the far end of the home is a wood burning stove to complete the full cabin experience. The laundry area boasts a stacking washer and dryer set, alongside a fully equipped bathroom. The home is completed with an oversized two car garage for vehicles and outdoor toys. Bringing your furry friends, you will love the doggie door that leads straight into an outside kennel.

Welcome to The Secret Garden Suite of Storybook Cabin, with its bay window overlooking raised gardens, koi pond & fire pit area, and picturesque valley. This ground-floor suite accommodates two guests as a studio or may be combined with the Beyond the Bright Sea Suite for up to 5-6 guests. The best feature of Storybook Cabin is its 360-degree views of the North Fork Valley and surrounding mountains. Located just 2 miles outside of Paonia, it’s a peaceful Colorado haven. Breakfast is included!

The space
In 1997, we broke ground for our log home, recently designated as Storybook Cabin of Sunridge, LLC. The barn, complete with garage, work shop, and multi-purpose space, was constructed in 2008. We underwent another major renovation in 2023, when we reconfigured our living quarters to allow for private ground-level guest space. The “storybook” theme emerged as the two studio apartments took shape.

Please note, The Secret Garden Suite can be combined with the Beyond the Bright Sea Suite for a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment for up to 5-6 guests (see separate listing for Storybook Cabin of Sunridge.) As for the number of guests who can be comfortably accommodated within the entire space, there are two queen beds, one daybed (twin), one rollaway bed (twin), a small toddler bed, and infant/baby crib available. Different configurations are possible; message us to ensure that we can provide the lodging and bed space you need!

The Secret Garden Suite has several unique inclusions, such as its replica clawfoot bathtub (with discreet overhead Smart TV); his & her closets which contain a refrigerator, microwave, coffee/hot pots (L closet) and space for hang-up clothing (R closet), along with amenities such as luggage rack, ironing board & iron, and extra linen; games and lending library (with a “take a book, leave a book” philosophy). Please be aware that there is no stand-up shower in this suite (just the bathtub), but arrangements can be made for shower access either in the other unit if unoccupied or on main level of the home using rear stairway. Let us know if you would like access to one of the showers!

Please note that this is a No Smoking/No Drugs property, including indoor and outdoor spaces. Out of consideration for those with allergies to pet hair and dander, as well as our desire to avoid extra smells and noise, we have a No Pets Indoors policy. Our two outdoor kitties do wander the grounds at their leisure and retire to heated beds in the shed at night. Please keep doors to the suites closed, as our cats consider open doors to be invitations to become house cats.

Both suites have access to the yard & garden areas, patio with outdoor dining space, koi pond & fire pit, Kids Cabin, and playground area. Parking is available on concrete slab (one space per suite) or on gravel driveway in front of the detached shed, with additional parking out by the barn. Vintage lights span the overhead region above the parking spaces and that larger vehicles may need to park on gravel driveway.

Guest access
Guests have access to the yard and garden areas, playground, Kids Cabin, koi pond and fire pit area (children must be supervised by adult within all fenced-in zones), and patio with outdoor dining space. The fire pit can be used only when risk of fire danger is low.

Please park only in designated parking areas adjacent to ground-floor guests suites (turn-around drive on upper level is reserved for deliveries and your hosts). Likewise, please do not block garage doors at the barn. The upper two floors of the log cabin, as well as the barn and second-floor back deck, are private spaces with no guest access.

During your stay
We prefer contact via the AirBnb site, but in case of emergency our cell phone numbers are listed within each suite’s guest book.

If we are home upon guest arrival, we will welcome you in person but also want to respect your privacy. We make every attempt to be available to answer questions. Please observe quiet hours of 10pm-8am. We can often be found out at the barn or outside working in the garden, tending to our yard, koi fish, and outdoor kitties.

Other things to note
The Secret Garden Suite is set up with one queen bed (with brand new Sealey hybrid mattress and soft linen), with available infant/baby crib or toddler bed (with notice in advance). It is therefore appropriate for a single traveler, couple, or family with small child. A plug-in tower for devices and sound machine are conveniently located at bedside.

We value a great night’s sleep, so the queen bed is outfitted with soft comforter/duvet cover and your choice of hypoallergenic pillows (flat, plush bamboo, memory foam) to encourage a comfortable night’s rest (and maybe even an afternoon nap!) Extra pillows can be found in the R side closet; help yourself to a swap if you’d like! We clean and launder all linen with environmentally-friendly, no chemicals or dyes Melaleuca products.

There is a fridge, microwave, and coffee/hot pots, along with coffee, tea, and snacks, within the left-side closet. We provide continental-style breakfast, complete with fruit, yogurt, and fresh baked goods from either Mountain Oven Organic Bakery or Paonia Bread Works.

We live on the upper two floors of the log cabin, so you may hear mild noises of occupancy overhead. We do our best to observe the quiet hours as we expect of our guests. We both work in the healthcare field, which necessitates some early morning activities which may include watering the garden.

AMAZING LOCATION!!! Near Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and all the adventures the Western Slope offers! The Cabins sleep up to 4 people and is pet friendly. They include kitchens, bathrooms, Wi-Fi, antenna TV, and a view of the San Juan Mountains.

The space
Our accommodations all have a kitchen with basic cookware, dishes, and utensils. You will need to bring any condiments or spices that you would like to use if you plan on cooking. We provide a coffee maker and filters, but you will need to bring your own coffee and sweeteners.

The full sized bathrooms have a shower/tub, and three sets of towels. If you need more towels please contact the office and more will be provided. You will be responsible for your own bathroom essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, etc.

The beds are made with two pillows, a fitted sheet, top sheet, and a comforter. If you need extra bedding such as pillows or blankets feel free to bring them from home. We do have heaters in all the rooms.

Feel free to use the laundry rooms if needed. There are two on site, one behind the office, and one on the back side of the country barn. Quarters are available in the office during office hours.

The pool is now closed for the winter. We will be opening it around memorial day depending on weather.

The country barn is open from 12pm-7pm when weather permits. We have a pool table, ping pong, cornhole, and a few board games.

Nestled in our elm forest, the casita is a private and tranquil oasis. This home was naturally built with earth based materials. Enjoy the views of our beautiful pond right outside the back deck with your morning coffee and watch the trout jump. If you're looking for a cozy little reconnect with nature and a disconnect from the rat-race, you've found it. The Yucca Cabin is a perfect Paonia home base for exploring the North Fork Valley.

The space
This is not a place to come and party. We welcome guests who are seeking relaxation, rejuvenation, and connection with the natural world. And those who carry respect for nature and their surroundings.

While it pains us to say, we are not currently allowing pets.

The cabin is one of two on the property (search Coyote Cabin for other listing) and you'll have your own private parking right in front of cabin.

The cabin comfortably sleeps four, with one big main bedroom that has two full-sized beds.

There is also a small loft with a twin-sized bed if you need the extra space. PLEASE NOTE: The loft is accessed by a built in (completely vertical) ladder and is a very compact space that could only sleep one. It would be best suited for a smaller human. Kids seem to love it!

The space has all the essentials you'll need: Wifi, AC for warmer months, gas fireplace for winter, 4-burner gas grill on deck, full bathroom with shower, towels and bedding, shampoo/conditioner, 2-burner electric range, mini fridge, basic kitchen and cooking utensils, kettle, french press, pour over (and coffee and tea), sink, comfy seating area inside and out, four person dining table.

Things the space DOES NOT have that you might consider: washer/dryer, freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster.

Please do ALL smoking outside and please do not, under any circumstances, throw your cigarette butts on the ground!

We HIGHLY recommend that you SCREENSHOT directions and DOWNLOAD area map before reaching Paonia. Cell service is VERY spotty.

The water source in the cabins is city water and is safe to drink - it is what we drink and use also!

A quick note: We have two dogs on the property, one of which is slightly protective. It is very unlikely you will see our pups during your visit but if they happen to wander up towards your cabin, please just ignore them and do not engage. While he is the sweetest boy, for liability reasons, we need to say “Beware of Dog”.

The Grand Mesa is beautiful! We are located at 10,200' in elevation. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SNOW ON THE GROUND THROUGH MAY AND INTO JUNE.
We have a total of 9 cabins for rent. We are across the street and a short walk to two lakes, beautiful scenery, hiking trails, XC skiing, atv-ing, snowmobiling, canoeing, mtn biking, and great fishing! We rent boats, stand up paddle boards & snowshoes. We also have snowmobile tours and rentals. There's something for everyone!

The space
The cabin has a kitchen with all the cooking essentials you should need for your mountain getaway. There is a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and more. Just bring your own groceries and a chef! The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Compact, but efficient for a log home. We provide linens, towels, blankets, soaps, coffee, and paper products.
Wifi works at the main office/lodge. It kind of reaches to the cabins, but not well enough for streaming. We have a dvd collection you can borrow from, but you would need to have your own dvd player or laptop. We also have board games in the office that you can borrow.

Summer: Each cabin has its own charcoal grill, picnic table, and fire ring outside, but you are more than welcome to use the community fire pit. Around the larger fire pit are hammocks to enjoy the view looking out over Deep Ward Lake. We also have a community pavilion that you are more than welcome to use with extra picnic tables and a propane grill. AMAZING LOCATION!!! Near Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and all the adventures the Western Slope offers! The Cabins sleep up to 4 people. They include kitchens, bathrooms, Wi-Fi, antenna TV, and a view of the San Juan Mountains.

The space
Our accommodations all have a kitchen with basic cookware, dishes, and utensils. You will need to bring any condiments or spices that you would like to use if you plan on cooking. We provide a coffee maker and filters, but you will need to bring your own coffee and sweeteners.

The full sized bathrooms have a shower/tub, and three sets of towels. If you need more towels please contact the office and more will be provided. You will be responsible for your own bathroom essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, etc.

The beds are made with two pillows, a fitted sheet, top sheet, and a comforter. If you need extra bedding such as pillows or blankets feel free to bring them from home. We do have heaters in all the rooms.

Feel free to use the laundry rooms if needed. There are two on site, one behind the office, and one on the back side of the country barn. Quarters are available in the office during office hours.

The pool is now closed for the winter. We will be opening it around memorial day depending on weather.

The country barn is open from 12pm-7pm when weather permits. We have a pool table, ping pong, cornhole, and a few board games.
