- "Our family’s second visit to this magical place this summer . We love it !" - "The Gregg house is a perfect location for fishing prime water on the Frying Pan" - "We had a wonderful time in Basalt! The Gregg House was an amazing place to unplug and getaway for a week. We knew beforehand that cell service was a no go and there was enough internet to stay in touch. Not a problem at all. It gave our family a chance to unwind for a week of fly fishing (24” Cutbow at around 10 lbs was the best catch of the week), reading, hiking, and amazing star gazing in a nearly dark sky. We did experience what seemed to be a 100-year rain storm with the owners and their ranch team! It was a memorable battle against the elements and we helped redirect water on their property— it was a real ranch-life feel if only for a short while. Wonderful people and vacation property! We will definitely return and look forward to making more memories! Thanks to the owners for making us feel welcome!"

- "We look forward to this trip every year. From my fly fishing husband to my teenage son to my little daughter we all enjoy being here! Walking in to town for breakfast, having wine by the riverboat night. It’s very cozy and a perfect family trip or romantic trip for two. I’m torn between telling people how wonderful it is or not telling anyone to keep it a secret! I don’t return many places that we travel because I always love something new. This is my one exception….. love it"

- "Beautiful location right on the Frying Pan River! The owner was great to work with and responded quickly. Would definitely stay here again!" - "We all love it here and plan to return year after year. It’s nearly perfection. I only wish the bath tub worked and we could get a reservation on Saturdays. Small things." - "We were a group of three friends coming together for a long weekend in the mountains. The cabin worked great. We loved sitting outside by the river--watching the water and light change. The location really worked well for us as we set out for different adventures each day. Jake and his crew were terrific. The group staying before us was slow to leave, and Jake was super about updating us on when we could check in. We also accidentally left a few small items behind, and Jake kindly posted those back to us."

- "We were in town for a wedding in Aspen but didn’t want the hustle and bustle of town and this was perfect. Located about 16 miles outside Basalt near the reservoir this quiet cabin is nestled back in the woods with tons of wildlife (some that comes to visit) and picturesque views made this the perfect place to decompress and just “be”. The home is absolutely beautiful and wonderfully decorated and comes complete with everything you will need. The host, Christian, was super nice and accommodating. He lives onsite but makes himself scarce but if you want to chat he will oblige. We will definitely visit again should we find ourselves in the area."

FLY FISHING
Sitting on arguably the finest water of the upper frying pan river, LCCR offers some of the best fly fishing in the valley. Encompassing both sides of a half mile of private water, guests can avoid the crowds and spend hours fishing your own stretch of either frying pan or lime creek.

The river fishes truly world class with the opportunity of catching the pinnacle 20 inch brown or rainbow lurking with every cast. Fish numbers are healthy in both the river and creek as guests having 50 fish days is not uncommon. The current ranch record stands at a 27inch brown caught in the waterfall pool of the river.

As the namesake goes, the northern expansion of the property follows up the steep draws of Lime Creek Canyon. Wading a short distance up the confluence, you will find one of the most vibrant ecosystems between the canyon walls. A truly rare experience of meandering crystal clear water, creating technical riffles and pools, holding surprisingly large browns.
