The only downside was the strong cleaning agent odor in our room when we arrived. Kind of a sweet chemical smell. Not very good air circulation, so we had to open our window and door wide for 15 minutes to get the smell to abate. Would recommend a more natural cleaning agent without such a toxic artificial odor. The town of Basalt offers excellent dining options, several boutique's for the casual shopper and a choice fly fishing outfitters. There is also a General Store in town to pick up your basic essentials. An additional 5 minute drive further down valley is the Willet's Town Center. This popular retail location offers additional shopping, multiple dining options and a list of retailers including Whole Foods market and City Market for stocking up on your complete grocery list. Aspen/Snowmass and the Pitkin county Airport are located, "up valley", approximately 45-50 minute drive away from the cabin.

The roads are maintained during the winter months. However, 4 x 4 vehicles are highly recommend in the Rocky Mountain region.

- "Second time staying here and it won’t be our last. First, and most important, Dan is the consummate wonderful host. Incredibly quick to respond, took time to check in to make sure everything was perfect, and just wonderful as a host. Cannot recommend him highly enough. Love the location of the property above Ruedi Reservoir. There are neighbors but the property is very secluded and quiet. We loved the daily visits by a doe and her three fawns and had a separate visit by two bucks. If you want peace and quiet, this is the perfect place. The addition of Starlink internet from our previous stay was a nice surprise because it meant not being without phone service since cellular coverage stops just outside of Basalt. And last, but certainly not least, the drive along the Frying Pan River never gets old. If anything, it’s difficult to pay attention to the road. One of the best scenic drives in this part of Colorado. Can’t wait to come back for ski season. Thanks again, Dan!"

Luxurious Riverfront Log Cabin located directly on the banks of the Frying Pan River. The Guest Cabin is located on the same property as Lodge at River's Edge and consists of a fully equipped kitchen, living room with cable TV and wireless internet, a bedroom with a queen bed and an open air loft with two twin beds. There is also a pull out sofa in the Living Room.

The cabin was originally built by Colorado Midland Railroad workers in 1896, it was restored a century later in 1996. The cabin was renovated again in 2005 and 2015 . The cabin is decorated in an elegant mountain style and includes luxurious linens, comfy robes, down pillows, radiant in-floor heating, fireplace and all the amenities you would expect at a nice hotel. The sliding glass door opens up to the views and sounds of the Frying Pan River rushing by. The cabin guests' are welcome to fish on the Frying Pan River in front of the cabin and also upriver towards the main lodge.

The cabin interior was recently with a gorgeous custom staircase to the loft. Additionally, the kitchen has been remodeled with granite counter tops, stainless appliances, and wood flooring throughout. Other additions include A/C, washer/dryer, dishwasher and an upgraded bathroom with walk in shower and double vanities. No details has been overlooked.

The cabin is located only one block to the charming town of Basalt. It is a beautiful, quick 1 minute stroll to all the restaurants and shops located in town. This unique guest cottage (1,000 sq. ft.) is located in Old Town Basalt. Tucked in the back yard of our home, it offers a neighborhood experience within walking distance
(4 min) to historic downtown Basalt and just steps away from hiking trails to Basalt Mountain and the Gold Medal Waters of the Frying Pan River. With private access and designated parking, this property is a special find as it was built by us with attention to detail and design. Mostly used as a private guest house for family and friends, we decided to open it up to guests and list it on VRBO. We are enjoying sharing this special spot with our guests! It offers one private bedroom upstairs with a king bed. There is additional sleeping space with two twin beds at the top of the stairway open to the hallway. The Bathroom and washer and dryer are also located upstairs. From the $80,000 Italian made Pedini kitchen equipped with subzero, gas range and excellent cookware and dishes to the finest Italian bedding - you will not find a more luxurious, exciting and convenient place to reside during your vacation. We have collected artwork for the loft from renown artists from Eastern Europe, Barcelona, New York and Tibet among others. The style is clean and modern with Ligne Roset furniture from Paris in the living room. The master bed was hand forged and all mattresses in the loft were selected for ultimate comfort. Down comforters, linen, fine cotton duvets and super down pillows are provided to settle in at night. Top of the line large screen TVs are in both the living room and master bedroom. Twelve-foot ceilings and banks of windows add to the modern vibe of the space. The second bedroom is an intimate space that can sleep 4 in two full-over-full beds. There is also an additional single bed pallet that can be used in this room. The rug was handmade in Buenos Aires and is of soft chevron cowhide. Everything is pristine as it was all acquired with our recent remodel.

The spring, summer and fall activities seem to happen more down-valley in terms of horseback riding, golf, fishing and hiking, and you are right in the center of it all! The main bus station is 1 blocks from our unit that you can take anywhere with buses leaving every 20 minutes. If you rent a car you do not have to worry about snow as you have a designated underground parking spot. On days we ski Aspen mountain, we typically valet at The Little Nell, and have a Apres ski cocktail and have our ticket validated, which makes it quite reasonable to park at the very base of the mountain. It is a terrific place to people watch and relax before heading back to our little sanctuary.

You are steps from the bus stop, the best wine store in the valley, as well as two of the top-rated restaurants on the first floor! Jump on the bikes and head to the river or stroll to the 8 screen movie theater or the darling bowling alley that serves rack of lamb! We have done what we feel makes a space both exciting and comfortable to enjoy the best of the best in Colorado. You will be thrilled with the money you will save having the anchors such as Whole Foods so close as opposed to the heart of the tourist areas. As foodies, we love to try every new restaurant and found the choices much more interesting in the Basalt area at basically half the price and it is incredible to have the option of either! Skiing could not be easier - hop on the bus on the corner of our block and be driven or pack your car in the garage and head up the mountain. Everything is so easy to make your trip fantastic!

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

We took lovely walks and found it so easy to get around. A word of caution though, washing machine does not drain or spin, and the door to the deck is very challenging to open. I ended up not using the deck because the door was stuck tight."

Totally renovated two bedroom, two bath condominium with brand new furniture, bed and bedding await your arrival to a comfortable getaway. Located on the top floor of of the Gold River condominiums walking distance from dining and shopping. Walk along the paths that follow the river, drive up to Ruedi Reservoir for a day on the water. Gold medal fishing for the avid fisherman right out the door and for miles along each river. In the winterpick up the high speed bus to whisk you up to any of the mountains for skiing within a half hour from the condo.
