- "Awesome experience!! So comfortable and relaxing..Thank you 😊 " - "This property is very cute and quite. It’s off the grid but has power and wifi between 6am and 10pm. The site has two little ponds you can fish and other bucking trails. There is also a few communal area/lodges for gathering. My only comment would be that the property is located several miles off a dirt road from Highway 24/285. Hotels.com does not explain this but the property website does. The road is easy to drive but is located in an area with zero cell service so make sure to make it out before you exit the highway. "

This log cabin sleeps 6. There are 3 king-size beds with luxe mattresses/linens, and a 'loft bed' for kids. MBR has sliding glass doors to a balcony, beautiful ceiling architecture with a ceiling fan, a private bath, a desk, and a reading nook with a recliner. We provide most essentials for your stay. The four 6ft X 6ft windows and glass French doors in the main living area make you feel like you're sitting out in the aspens and pines surrounding the cabin. The leather and chenille couch sits 6-8. - "The cabin and property were beautiful and well maintained. I felt like we were staying at my family’s house. It was warm and inviting and well stocked with everything we could have needed. We will be visiting again!" - "It was beautiful! Such a cozy cabin feel. Fit our party perfectly and was an ideal location to get to the nearby ski mountains and tubing parks." - "Myself and 3 friends stayed for 2 nights and had a great time! The house had EVERYTHING we could have ever needed. It was warm, comfortable, homey, and located in a beautiful setting close enough to 285 for ease of convenient but just far enough off the beaten path. We spent most of one day at Mt Princeton Spa and Hot Springs but mostly we just hung out at the cabin relaxing, cooking, and enjoying the solitude. We'd love to come back in the summer to enjoy the fishing and hiking trails. We'd definitely recommend this to others, including families with small children! (toys, baby gate, outdoor play structure, kids beds, etc.)"

Located over 2+ acres covered with aspens, spruce, pines. Out front view includes majestic mountains, nearby Lake Antero (best fishing Colorado 2007) and big valley rangelands. Enjoy the frontier feel of the lodge and built-in comforts. Decor in European salon style, 300+ lodge, wildlife, outdoor themed books spread thru-out delight readers when desired (like Sofitel, Aman, other top brands offer), storage items inside and out support lodge operations. We do not seek the too commercial stark boutique hotel looks (a bench and a can opener and those guys are done with their 'ambiance'), rather we make it warm and even elegant like a mountain home. Many places to gather or spread out ~3,342 sq ft - with (4) indoor and (2) outdoor gathering areas, (4) attractive bedrooms and (3) designer bathrooms. There are:(2) floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces, gourmet kitchen (with island) with breakfast/lounge bar and dining areas, picture windows, separate loft, living, recreation and raised sitting rooms for family gatherings, wet bar, jetted tub and (3) dual-spray spa showers, custom granite, slate & marble & attractive rustic & country decor. Thorough and thoughtful regional-themed immersive decor. Items supplied: (3) mountain bikes, (1) PS3, about (15) popular DVDs (with lots of kid shows), fishing poles, snowshoes.
What to bring: Sunglasses, sunscreen, cameras, water bottles, gloves, snow & ski or rafting clothing, boots, and good socks. See local winter and summer outfitters to round out your gear. Ambiance and amiability increased using an element of the Interior items enhance connection to local frontier area (we anticipate guests want to connect to local lodge and outdoor ambiance for their getaway visit and therefore do not adhere to KonMari austere influences). We're at ~9,000 ft. - so take some time to acclimate to less oxygen in atmosphere and consult your doctor prior to travel for recommendations on this topic for each arriving person in your group (Ex.: you may want to arrive with supplemental oxygen bottles if unexpected needs arise, and any additional doctor recommended measures - particularly for those in your group that may have less than optimal health profiles, including not bringing those guests with health risk profiles that a doctor would not recommend to attend). Enjoy the high country, thanks for taking care of the place & thanks for staying at Lodge of the Rockies LLC - 9000 feet above average!!

* Four-Wheeling – Four-Wheeling is not allowed on the ranch, but there are numerous forest roads and mountain passes to old mining camps and back country area’s around South Park.

Elk, deer, moose and many other species can also be found in the South Park area.

We were there a week and enjoyed every minute. The description of the lodge is spot-on. There was enough room for everyone to spread out and relax. This is a great log home in a beautiful location. NO CLEANING FEES. Located 4 miles south of Fairplay in a gated community, Warm Springs Ranch, that borders National Forest land. This property is a Convenant Controlled Community which is a Gated Community. Due to drought conditions in the West, Fires Will Not Be Permitted. You are liable to see elk, antelope, deer just outside the entrance to this area. At night, the stars seem to jump out at you and views of beautiful mountains abound. The changing seasons brings surprises of beautiful aspen and great snow, while you are cozy in the cabin with a welcoming propane stove and all the amenities of home. All roads are well maintained but four wheel drive is required in the winter months. Skiing in major ski areas can be found at Breckenridge (29 miles), Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Monarch, Loveland and others. There is some thing for everyone and stocked fishing ponds located within the subdivision with no fishing license required. Lovely Rec Center in Fairplay.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms - one rather large loft concept upstairs and one downstairs both with baths. Main floor has the kitchen/dining and living area with plenty of natural light. Lovely front porch which allows one to sit on and admire the scenery or eat outside on a large wooden picnic table.

Welcome to the Chocolate Moose! The cabin that offers the very best of the Colorado mountains. This luxurious 4,000 square foot, 3 story custom crafted log cabin features four bedrooms and three and a half baths, and offers everything you need for the perfect mountain retreat. This spacious home is tucked away in the aspens with breathtaking views of South Park and Silverheels Mountain.
Hit the trails by simply opening the backdoor. The many trails maintained by the community connect up with the National Forest to the south providing hours upon hours of exploration. If you want to continue your adventures a bit further from home, you can catch the Colorado Trail on top of Kenosha pass about 30 miles to the north, or bag your first 14er by climbing Mount Sherman just a few miles up the road.
Enjoy the private stocked fishing ponds within the community (no Colorado license needed - just grab the pass from in the kitchen) or grab a license and venture out to explore all of the amazing fishing destinations in the area (http://285mountainguide.com/guide/activities/fishing.html). The community also offers a tennis and basketball court if a friendly rivalry needs to be decided on the court.
If 4-wheeling is more your speed, the cabin is just 10 minutes from Breakneck Pass (https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/231-breakneck-pass) and over a dozen other rated trails are located within an hour's drive.
Just 10 miles up the road you'll find the adorable and inviting mountain town of Fairplay. Home of the South Park City Museum, a perfectly restored mining town that lets you walk through over 40 authentic buildings from the time period. It is also the inspiration for the popular cartoon series, South Park. Drive through and spot all of Kenny's favorite hangouts. In addition to the museum you'll find restaurants, shopping, the new South Park Recreation Center, and local art on display. Spend the day strolling, snacking and don't forget to stop by South Park Brewery for a pint of craft beer and live music on your way back home.
The cabin is located 32 miles from Breckenridge Ski Resort, so if you're in search of a Colorado blue bird day you're less than an hour (depending on weather) from speeding down over 180 trails. In the summer, the resort transforms into a family fun zone, offering alpine slides, ropes courses and mining for adults and children of all ages!
The Fairplay Nordic center is just a few miles away with maintained cross country trails if scenic views and a quiet picnic is more your speed. You can also find sleds in the garage and opportunities to use them abound!
36 miles to the south of the cabin you'll find Buena Vista, CO. (Pronounced B-yoo-na Vista - if you want to sound like a local). They offer guided whitewater rafting, an outdoor adventure park, local breweries, festivals, hot springs, dining, and access to more of the famed Colorado 14'ers (14,000 foot peaks) than any other town in CO. It's an outdoor playland!
With so much to do we most definitely can't cover it all here so please reach out with any questions. We'll do our best to assist.

"We hope that this will not be our last visit to the very special Chocolate Moose Lodge." Arie G.
"We found Chocolate Moose to be just what our family of 6 adults and 2 grandkids needed for our 3 night stay. Kitchen perfect for the preparation of our Thanksgiving feast. Hot tub with a fantastic view was so pleasant and appreciated finding a hiking trail just a few hundred yards from our front door." Carla S.
"We had a great stay at this very comfortable and well-stocked lodge. It was just right for hanging out with family, cooking, hot tubbing and just relaxing." - James S

- "The property is at just over 10K feet...be prepared for a lack of oxygen. We did have someone in our group that has asthma and a can of oxygen assisted tremendously. We seen moose right outside of the front door, deer around the property, and enjoyed fishing at the stocked ponds. The property has amazing views and lots of deck space for everyone. The board games are totally stocked! It was fun seeing the kids off the technology and just enjoying everyone's company. The hot tub was amazing to relax in. Storm watchers will be amazed to see how quickly storms come and go simply from the living room couch. Don't be concerned about the garbage situation - there are garbage cans down in the garage to hold it until you are ready to get rid of it. We just dropped it off on our way out each time. The property is simply AMAZING and would highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing get away."

The fact that Griz & Lou welcome pets was a big factor in our choice and once we got there, we were charmed with the location. (I've never seen our dog so happy exploring!) The sunrises are spectacular and watching the chipmunks were quite entertaining. The cabin is small but clean and quite comfortable. Last but not least, everyone in town was friendly and welcoming!"

There are 3 queen beds-2 downstairs & one is upstairs in the loft adjacent to the sofas, recliner & TV. There is also a full bathroom, bunk beds & desk upstairs. Another full bathroom is on the main level. There was plenty of seating for our group of 5 adults (plus our dogs). The kitchen had pretty much all the basics, and even spices, oil, etc. The refrigerator is fairly large & there is a dishwasher & gas stove. There was a small Keurig, small coffee pot, toaster, knives (pretty dull), pans, cutting boards, some baking dishes, wine glasses, etc. The host had laundry detergent (though we didn’t use the front loading washer or dryer). Plenty of towels, sheets, paper towels, etc. There was only 1 dish towel for drying dishes. There was a new larger hot tub which we really nice. We also loved the wood burning stove. - "We stayed for 5 weeks in this wonderful cabin! The cabin was very spacious for 2 adults and our 2 dogs. I honestly could not tell that dogs had stayed there before. It was super clean and ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked, had everything to make your own meals, and a nice grill on the patio. It had cable and wifi, so we could work remotely from the cabin. The views from the back patio are amazing. Lots of roads to walk the dogs, we did find some trails around the area to walk. Closest town is Buena Vista, which is where we went to get groceries and check out some restaurants/bars. There were also some nice trails in BV to walk the dogs. Takes about 25-30 minutes to BV and Breckenridge is about an hour away. We explored some of the surrounding areas too, Leadville, Salida, Guffey, and Red Cliff. Did a few snow mobile trips while we were there, had a really great time. Cabin is on a dirt road, which is noted in the listing so that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, it also snowed while we were there. Once the snow stopped they plowed the roads, so it was pretty easy to get in and out with no issues. Lots to do if you are willing to venture out. If you get a chance to stay here, don't pass it up, it is a great place and Terence is a super great host!"

Our highly-rated cleaning crew ensures a sparkling, clean and fresh environment where you feel safe to relax and use the space with ease. All touch points, kitchenware and linens are sanitized and disinfected on a regular basis following CDC guidelines.
There are 3 bedrooms: one master bedroom (king size bed), a second bedroom (queen-size bed) and a third bedroom (bunk beds with one full and twin bed as well as a pull out bed). The pull out bed has an extra pair of sheets in the dresser. The cabin includes one full-size bathroom with a shower, fresh towels, complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. We also provide a few extra rolls of toilet paper, a hair dryer, flat iron, and a full-size washer and dryer for laundry.
The kitchen is well stocked with all the basic kitchenware you will need for family and friends for intimate meals. There is a gas range oven, refrigerator with ice maker and water filter, a grill on the deck, coffee pot, utensils, glassware, dishes and some cooking basics like spices and cooking oil. Business Travelers
Inside there is a house manual with instructions, WiFi password and information about The Land. Working remotely is a new way of life and we’ve kept this in mind for those who are remote workers who can enjoy a dedicated workspace with high-speed and reliable Starlink internet. There is a monitor and HDMI cord. Enjoy the ease of keyless entry. The Land also has complimentary Netflix and Hulu accounts and hundreds of DVDs.
The Great Outdoors
The cabin sits on a large 35 acre property with seemingly endless activities to keep you entertained. There are yard games like cornhole, horseshoe, games, and the pond. There is a large deck wrapped in string lights with a grill, table for outdoor dining, and a patio furniture set with a beautiful view of the teepee and mountains.
Getting There
Accessing the cabin is via keypad entry. Upon booking the cabin you will receive a welcome message. Prior to your stay you’ll receive more access instructions for entering the cabin.
The cabin is open year-round but keep in mind the roads of Old Kathleen Ranch are well-graded dirt roads that are maintained and plowed by the Old Kathleen Ranch Homeowners Association. There is a ¼ mile downhill and curvy newly paved dirt road from the main road to the cabin. We will try our best to have someone plow if there is snow, however that is not guaranteed and visitors should ensure they are bringing an appropriate vehicle (especially in Winter months November - March).
Fireplace
We do allow renters to enjoy the ambiance of a cozy fire. Guests must use extreme caution when using, and ALWAYS close and lock the door when in use. There is a heater in the living room as well as baseboard heaters if guests choose not to use, heats the house in minutes!
Other things to note
There is not a disposal, please no food down the drain. There are some glass containers for bacon or grease. We allow pets to enjoy the cabin with you for an extra cleaning fee. If guests do not pay the fee and the cleaner finds there was a pet, we will be following up for the payment. Be mindful of tracking mud in the house, hair on furniture, and always pick-up after your pet like the responsible pet owner we know you are!
- "Property was as expected. Beautiful mountain air and quiet. Im very familiar of that area and love the cover mountain region. Cabin was very nice and clean. The grill was out of propane so i could not grill. Enjoyed my stay and would do it again." - "We had such a great time here, it was clean and had everything we needed! You could tell this was a second home, all the kitchen gadgets and utensils and spices! Lots of space to roam and my kids loved the cows that walked onto the property a few days. The porch with the view was my favorite part of the week, overall a great place! Internet was great, but our phone service was spotty. Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

- "We had a great stay in Fairplay! The space was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. Everything you need is readily available. We were able to easily drive into Breckenridge, Copper, and Keystone for day trips. I would note the queen bed in the non-bunk room is more firm and it was extremely windy while we were there - but that's more of an FYI, not anything against the property. " - "This place is awesome! The kitchen had everything we could have possibly needed, the bathroom was well stocked and the living room had a great selection of DVDs to choose from. I was particularly pleased to find the gem, Pay it Forward as that was one of my favorite films from the early 2000's. We really appreciated the cabin being pet-friendly as well and our dog had a blast exploring the area. You're pretty immersed in the local wildlife here and the view from this place is truly amazing. We were even lucky enough to see a moose just feet from the kitchen window one night. Even though this cabin is in a gated community, it's still very private and perfect for a nice little getaway from the city. As a note to future guests: bring some long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts, even in the summer, as it did get pretty chilly and windy at night. But I guess that's to be expected at nearly 10,000 feet. Thank you to the homeowners for sharing your lovely home with us, we would love to come back again!"

- "The property and home was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. We were hoping for more snow but it was early January and therefore early season. It was less than an hour to Breckenridge however so we did get some skiing in and came back to a nice warm place with everything we needed to make dinner for the whole family." - "We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin! It had everything we needed—comfy beds, a great kitchen, and amazing views. It was the perfect summer base camp, close to everything we wanted to check out and just down the street were great fishing ponds in the housing community. The owners were super responsive and designed the house perfectly for a family. We'll definitely be back for another vacation!"

The cabin is approximately 700 square feet. It has a separate bedroom with a QUEEN bed, a living room with a fold out couch (QUEEN size), a dining room and a snack bar in between the living room and the kitchen. There are two doors that exit the cabin onto the deck, one from the bedroom and the other from the living room. Once on the deck there is a door into the bathhouse area. There is a wood stove for heat and a few small electric heaters (please conserve electricity). Turn off electric heaters when leave. Thank You.
THERE IS A CENTRAL BATHHOUSE AND An Outhouse located on the property that can be used by all guests in the Cottontail, Thumper and Rabbit Den, The Wild Hare has its own bathroom yet when the water is shut off in the winter months the guests can use the outhouse or bathhouse. The Bathhouse is attached at the end of the yellow timed cabin (Cottontail). It has one shower, one toilet and a sink. There is also an outhouse located at the opposite end of the property (see property layout) for those not wanting to wait for the toilet at the bathhouse. PLEASE, be respectful of all guests and leave clean. Please remind children to do the same.
For Water, there is a well on the property, but I suggest you bring a few gallons of drinking water, if you do not like well water. The well is shown on the property layout.
Off-season 'Winter' is when water is shut off to the cabin and Bathhouse.
This is from Oct 15th till Approx till May 1st.
If the water has been shut off to the cabin, verify water is still on at the Bathhouse that is attached to the Cottontail.
Each cabin is fully furnished with refrigerator, microwave, popcorn popper, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, coffeepot, toaster, electric hot plates, electric skillets, crock pot and other misc. kitchen equipment. I do have internet upon request, I want people to spend time together not by texting but by bonding as the old days. I will give you the password, but I do not want downloading movies or streaming music, it will slow or shut down from overuse, business only.
"Do not give to children tell them to play games, puzzles, catch/kick ball, enjoy the outdoors"
IT IS SUGGESTED YOU BRING THE FOLLOWING,
Remember, this is your cabin and others in the mountains "Cheers"
Linens or sleeping bags and pillowcases
Towels and dish cloths
Toilet paper and paper towels
Trash Bags
"Provided are pillows and blankets, not pillowcases."
All can be provided for a fee, but advanced notice is a must, minimum cost is $25 per bed, includes bedding (top and bottom sheet), 2 pillowcases, 2 towels, 2 wash cloths.
"Firewood is available for purchase on the property for outside fires."
Cabin price based on 2 people all extra guests and pets are $20 more per night. Make sure you verify all before arrival. This is your home and others in the mountains, surprises are good but not the type that is to sneak one over on Jeff or the other guests on the property. Like you tell me one pet and got 5, or one guest and I arrive to find a tent and a camper. Thank You, All and Jeff
If you bring extra guests (people or pets) and did not include when booking it is best, you inform Jeff immediately and /or use the drop box on the property located at Jeff's house. If you do not inform Jeff/use the drop box, you will be charged double when leave. This will come out of your damage deposit. That is $40 per night for each and not $20. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. (OR) you will lose your deposit. I am tired of people not the pets trying to get over on me and me letting it happen. It took too many years to fix these places up, never getting paid and now, I just wanted to be treated as I ask. Thank You Jeff and all honest guests!

As we shared in the description this great log cabin. We would love to have you and anyone that would like to rest, recharge and rejoice. If you choose to book this great cabin you're agreeing that its as is and agree that you will not dispute you're stay. As we need to address to you the home is rustic, it's like going camping in a tent but inside for some people. (Not a Hotel, so look for the joy within). We also have a wonderful housekeeping team, but as I stated above it's a Rustic Mtn cabin and dust and dirt blow in if wind gets going. The main owner does keep some of his personal item's. Pets are not welcome as the HOA will not let guests bring them. No parties but Close to downtown, bars and restaurants. As we love to have anyone, if you feel this place isn't for you, our staff and their families work hard to keep the place in order and can't afford refunds. ( As some sites are just refunding and some guests look for ways to get a free vacation we are sure your not that type of person)

Explore 35+ wooded acres surrounded by national forest in the sunny Rocky Mountains. A wonderful place for couples, friends, & solo travelers to relax and adventure in a comfortable modern cabin all <15 mins from historic downtown Salida, CO.
We designed the Glass Greenhouse with massive windows, a private wraparound deck with a hanging bed, and views of the national forest at the back of the property. Our goal was to bring the outside in while you enjoy the comforts of a modern cabin.
The space
Location:
The Glass Greenhouse is about 50 yards from national forest boundary in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is centrally located about 2.5 hours from downtown Denver, <30 minutes to Monarch Mountain, 1.5 hours to Breckenridge, and about an hour from Great Sand Dunes National Park. To get here, just take 285 almost the entire way from Denver. It's a beautiful drive over high passes and low valleys. You might even see moose at the lake around Kenosha Pass. Traffic is almost always non-existent except for peak times -- thankfully it's not like I-70!
What to do (the short version):
There is a ton to do nearby outdoors--from day national parks to rafting hiking and skiing--that make perfect day trips all year. The Glass Greenhouse is newly renovated inspired by Swedish design with an exposed wood exoskeleton. There is a private trail on the property itself which circles around the aspen, ponderosa pine, rock outcroppings, and what we call sunset boulevard view. We also have a guidebook for everything from short hikes to restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries! We're tucked behind a mountain that blocks the road but right off a well-paved and plowed road.
The Basics:
There are some limited kitchen amenities with new mini fridges, a coffee maker (of course free coffee), etc. Quality towels and linens are freshly-washed right before your stay and will be waiting inside. The bed is a memory foam queen bed. The outdoor space includes a private deck space with a hanging bed. We also allow pets but please be sure to add a pet to your stay when you book it. We keep our pet fees far lower than most as we know people love bringing them but they can be a lot of work to clean.
The Bath House:
Down the path from the glass greenhouse is a large, heated bath house. We have recently done extensive renovations so most amenities are new. It's stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and had wash. We have more than one bathroom for each unit on-site so you should expect to have plenty of space. It's not like a public restroom. We also have a seasonal toilet and sink area which is right next to the greenhouse
Guest access
Getting Here and Parking:
At almost all times, all cars can easily drive up to the glass greenhouse without issue. We also have it plowed after every snow as well. Please park right next to your unit.
When you enter the gate, drive up and proceed past the Tipi. Then, the glass greenhouse will be the second major building on the left.
Other things to note
Bath House:
We have bathrooms scattered across the property and not in the cabins themselves.
You will see the main bath house as you drive in and there are signs. We have invested a lot of time into renovating the bath house and are continuing to do more. There is also a seasonal restroom closer to the greenhouse.
WIFI:
We have added strong WiFi to the Greenhouse.
Cell Service:
Cell service with Verizon is actually quite strong as there is a tower on a mountain right next to us! AT&T and T-Mobile are strong a few miles from the property down the pass but are generally spotty at best on-site.
Fires:
Due to the dry climate, fires are off-limits all year round and open fires of any kind are prohibited at all times.
Essentials • Shampoo • Body soap • Cleaning products • Hair dryer • Mountain view • Conditioner • Shower gel • Bed linens • Extra pillows and blankets

The pull out bed has an extra pair of sheets in the dresser. The cabin includes one 3/4-size bathroom with a shower, fresh towels, complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. Enjoy the ease of a monitor with an HDMI cord, keyless entry, and fast WiFi. The Land also has complimentary Netflix and Hulu accounts and hundreds of DVDs!
The cabin sits on a large 35 acre property with seemingly endless activities to keep you entertained. There are yard games like cornhole, horseshoe, games and fishing at the pond. There is a large deck wrapped in string lights with a grill, table for outdoor dining, and a patio furniture set with a beautiful view of the teepee and mountains.
Guest access
Accessing the cabin is via keypad entry. Upon booking the cabin you will receive a welcome message. Prior to your stay you’ll receive more access instructions 48 hours prior to your check-in date.
The cabin is open year-round but keep in mind the roads of Old Kathleen Ranch are well-graded dirt roads that are maintained and plowed by the Old Kathleen Ranch Homeowners Association. There is a ¼ mile downhill, curvy and newly paved dirt road from the main road to the cabin. We will try our best to have someone plow if there is snow, however that is not guaranteed and visitors should ensure they are bringing an appropriate vehicle (especially in Winter months November - March).
Other things to note
Venture to nearby sites like the curious and quaint town of Guffey (where the largest meteorite in Colorado was found) to go for a bite and brew at Freshwater Tavern, swim at Paradise Cove, fish at 11 Mile Reservoir, gamble at the historic Cripple Creek casinos, be amazed at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Sanctuary, or visit Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and many more!
Fireplace
We do allow renters to enjoy the ambiance of a cozy fire. Guests must use extreme caution when using, and ALWAYS close and lock the door when in use. There is a heater in the living room as well as baseboard heaters if guests choose not to use, heats the house in minutes!
There is not a disposal, please no food down the drain. There are some glass containers for bacon or grease. We allow pets to enjoy the cabin with you for an extra cleaning fee. If guests do not pay the fee and we find there was a pet, we will be following up for payment. Please be mindful of tracking mud in the house, hair on the furniture, and always pick-up after your pet like the responsible pet owner we know you are!

We do our best to remain pet friendly and keep the cost reasonable (why charge $100 pet fees?!). If you plan to bring a pet please add it to your reservation - the small fee just goes to whoever cleans for the extra time.

Take a break and explore 35+ wooded acres surrounded by national forest at 8,000 feet in the sunny Rocky Mountains. A wonderful place for families, couples, & friends to relax & adventure in a modern cabin all <15 mins from historic downtown Salida, CO.
The Mountain Manor has a 100" indoor projector, 3 queen beds, fast WiFi, a hanging bed outside, an outdoor projector, and a ~500 sq. foot private patio for you.
We've worked hard designing + curating the manor. Would love to have you.
The space
Overview:
The entire cabin, balcony, and surrounding area will be private for you. You also have a private half bath in the Mountain Manor. A recently renovated bath house, which has 4 bathrooms, sinks, and showers, is <1 minute walk from the Mountain Manor so those are open to you as well!
Location:
The Mountain Manor is centrally located about 2.5 hours from downtown Denver, <30 minutes to Monarch Mountain, 1.5 hours to Breckenridge, and about an hour from Great Sand Dunes National Park. To get here, just take 285 almost the entire way from Denver. It's a beautiful drive over high passes and low valleys. You might even see moose at the lake around Kenosha Pass. Traffic is almost always non-existent except for peak times.
What to do (the short version):
There is a ton to do nearby outdoors--from day national parks to rafting hiking and skiing--that make perfect day trips all year. The Mountain Manor is newly renovated inspired by our Swedish heritage.
Cooking:
There are kitchen amenities with a fridge and freezer, two stovetops, a microwave, a coffee maker (of course free coffee), and a tea kettle. We also provide plates, bowls, forks, knives, etc. You should have all the basics for cooking you need in a kitchenette.
We also have an electric grill that works great for outdoor cooking. Quality towels and linens are freshly-washed right before your stay.
The Bath House:
We have recently done extensive renovations so most amenities are new. It's stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash. You have a private half bath in the Mountain Manor. If you need a shower, you should expect to have plenty of private space in the bath house (it's more like a spa building).
Pet Friendly:
We do our best to remain pet friendly and keep the cost reasonable (why charge $100 pet fees?!). If you plan to bring a pet please add it to your reservation - the small fee just goes to whoever cleans the cabin for the extra time.
Guest access
Park in the large parking lot below the Mountain Manor. You won't miss it. Additional detail in welcome message, but parking is very easy. We're tucked behind a mountain but right off a well-paved and plowed road. The Mountain Manor is not up steep terrain, so guests have been fine to reach it without 4 wheel drive.
Other things to note
Bath House:
There is a half bath (sink and shower) in the unit and a heated bath house open all the time just about 50 feet away with 5 full bathrooms.
If you are not comfortable walking to the bathroom, the other cabins on-site are even simpler! You will see the bath house as you drive in and there are signs. We have invested a lot of time into renovating the bath house and are continuing to do more.
WIFI & Cell Service:
Cell service with Verizon is actually quite strong as there is a tower on a mountain right next to us! AT&T and T-Mobile are strong a few miles from the property down the pass but are generally spotty at best on-site.
We have added strong WiFi to the Mountain Manor. You can certainly take video work calls (working from here is great) or stream movies.
Fires:
Please follow instructions at fire pit when you arrive. Guests are responsible for quickly googling to see if there is a county burn ban. If so, please do not have a fire.
