If you are considering traveling with a dog, we require prior approval before accepting a booking request. Please email us a completed Pet Addendum, which is part of our Rental Agreement, when you submit your booking request. It is an easy to use, online form and includes our "cabin rules" for visiting dogs. This form asks for your dog's name, breed, color, weight, age, sex, and if it has been spayed or neutered. If you have trouble with the form, please just send us a simple email with the requested information and an acknowledgement that you accept the rules.
We have free WiFi for your convenience and recommend connecting your cell phone to it for a stronger signal. Our cabin sits at the bottom of our driveway, below street-level, so we strongly recommend an all-wheel/4-wheel drive vehicle during our rainy/snowy winter months.
We would love to have you as our guests so please let us know if you have any questions.

- "Had a great time and a great stay!" - "This was a great home base for our Colorado vacation in the Cripple Creek area. Loved the large deck and waking up to looking at those mountains every morning. Also appreciated the nice gas grill to do some cooking. The gravel road up to the place was in good shape and it was actually a pretty quick, scenic drive into Cripple Creek. We were pretty well situated to get to everything else in the area. We had visits from some deer and heard the coyotes in the night. And since it was late July we also had fun watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeder on the deck. It was an enjoyable, comfortable stay!"

We've personally rented properties where the owner clearly does not reinvest. It definitely detracts from the experience to have a blanket with holes that a horse could fit through (yes, really), or only 2 forks and a bent knife to eat with. That'll never be us. Not only are we determined to maintain our cabin experience the way we'd want it, we're committed to constantly improving the property. Here are some of the changes we've made:
For 2020:
- We upgraded our heat in the Living Room (+1000W) and Queen Bedroom (+500W). Get cozy faster.
For 2021:
- Added new pots and pans and new cooking utensils.
- New kitchen faucet with pullout spray.
- New Queen mattress -Thicker!
- New side entrance, full length window in door and new storm door.
For 2022:
- New kitchen sink, double basin, much bigger!
- New Ceiling fan in twin room (more fan upgrades coming)
- New roof and gutters!
- "This was an excellent place for our family to stay on our vacation to the mountains. It was quiet, clean, and had everything as advertised. We got lucky and also enjoyed a full moon setting early in the morning while having morning coffee on the deck. Communication with the owners was easy through the VRBO app or texting. We would definitely stay there again." - "This cabin was an amazing breath of fresh air. My husband and I got married this last weekend, and decided we wanted a little mountain getaway before returning to normal life. We arrived the day after the wedding and stayed a few days. It was so fantastic! The best part by far was the huge patio. You sit in the rocking chairs and have coffee out there in the morning, dinner in the evening, and sit out and look at the moon at night. We spent hours just sitting looking out at the nature surrounding us. You nearly can’t even see another house, just a long landscape of mountains. One day, we went into cripple creek, had some lunch, and went to the old railroad museum! The house was clean, had everything we needed, and overall was an incredible romantic getaway for us. We will be visiting again and again, this is now a very special place for us!"

We are 10 minutes from Cripple Creek with the restaurants, casinos, the narrow-gauge train, Dome-Rock, Pancake Rock trails, vistas of Pikes Peak, etc..
We require Snowy Season use of a 4x4's, Jeep or AWD's with very good tire treads (or snow tires). I have some alternatives for getting up the hill without a Jeep, etc. but these must be arranged - please ask. I would suggest being there to check-in at 4 PM during daylight (or before, just ask) rather than late or middle of the night so you can better see on a snow-packed road. We do not pay for towing, etc. If you get stuck please try to move off to the side for other vehicles (neighbors) and you will need to hike up to the cabin. I do not live nearby, I would delay any arrival until a squall or blinding snow storm if finished so check the weather if it is questionable. Pro-Tip: Bring groceries-coffee with you at check-in. From May on through most of November, 2wd vehicles and motorcycles are fine to climb up the ridge.
The fee shown is for the cabin with 3 bedrooms - 2 Queens and a King bed with sleeping for 3 couples or 6 adults (we do have a cot). Vrbo automatically bills for our Sleeping Quarters - Bunkhouse if you have 7 or more guests at booking. It has two queen beds in an open area - short loft. It is suitable for a family of four. The Bunkhouse can be optionally added as a 4th bedroom if guests need separate arrangements (you will need to request that, please). The fee is $100 per night if added as an option.
We do not allow construction employee housing use, construction work crews to rent the cabin due to prior damages. We do not allow parties or one person to book and others use the property. The booking party is the responsible point of contact and is required to stay at the property for the booking period. We allow 1 dog with the Pet Fee or maybe two small pups with approval. We require you to check the box showing a Pet is coming. Otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel without refunds.
Our listing is for the nightly rental of the Cabin. We are a wedding venue and we require our Venue Contract and venue fees. To safeguard this, we have a view of the exterior and arbor areas via camera. So please do not attempt to have a ceremony, reception or party without my written contract, etc.
Our high-altitude Really Blessed Cabin (sitting at 10,200 feet) is a log cabin and property offering spectacular panoramic views of Pikes Peak and it's southern ridges in Colorado's high country above the picturesque Gillette Valley. From outdoor settings overlooking the majestic Pikes' Peak, to the log cabin that reflects the essence of the Rocky Mountains, Really Blessed Cabin helps create a truly "take your breath away" experience. This spectacular view is enjoyed from the interior front wall of vaulted windows, as well as, from the wrap around deck. The setting is dramatic.
LOG CABIN
The interior log cabin, appointed with vaulted, tongue and groove beamed ceiling is an ideal place where your family and guests can come together to celebrate your special day. Accommodations are for up to 6 guests in the main cabin with a king bedroom and two other queen bedrooms. A new groom's bunkhouse, sleeping another 4 guests is available. Other log cabin amenities are wood and slate floors, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, luxurious lighting, wine cooler, granite counters, and tasteful Colorado style decor, including wall mounted Elk antlers. Two full bathrooms round out the log cabin.
Our wood stove will keep you toasty on those chilly Colorado nights. A large 60" HD satellite-fed television with Blu-Ray DVD player, surround-sound system and WIFI are available. An audio cable is available for your music through the outside speakers over the hot tub and deck. Another Blu-Ray player is in the King bedroom for that TV (bring movies). We do have cards, books, and various board games to play during your stay. If there is not an outdoor fire and smoking ban, you may use the outdoor oversized campfire pit (has a cooking grate in addition to our large gas grill).
As explained above, our Accessory Bunkhouse -Sleeping Quarters may be added after the fact to a existing reservation at $100 additional per night (plus Vrbo fees). The Bunkhouse will sleep an additional 4 guests in two queen beds. The restrooms in the cabin will need to be shared but we have a water dispenser for coffee, etc. It also has a fold-down dining table, TV with Blu-Ray player, a loft and a wood-stove styled heater. It is ideal for a glamping experience, over-flow sleeping, Artist Studio, etc. We do not allow children under 16 to sleep unattended in the Bunkhouse.
For more guests, we also offer our RV or Camper pad with 30 Amp service at $50 per night (includes our drop station).
Our 5-person hot tub with a waterfall jet and colored lighting sits on the deck where the mountains can be enjoyed or viewing the stars if you take a soak after dark.
Please be accurate with your number of guests as we purchase our water supply or manually deliver it for each guest group. Please keep this in mind by taking short showers, not leaving the water running, using a single towel during your stay, etc. The washing machine is not available to guests. Exceptions will be for longer stays with a water charge.
Our check-out time is 10 a.m. because of the amount of work needing to be done. Our housekeeper is punctual (set an alarm, please). Again, check in time is 4 p.m. The home likely will not be ready until then, but I do recommend arriving close to this time than late at night to avoid being lost (GPS units do not work to the Cabin) or due to weather. Please let us know in advance should you need an early check-in.
It is an easy 10 minute drive to Cripple Creek, 35 minutes to Woodland Park's restaurants, etc and a beautiful 50 minute drive to Manitou Springs and western Colorado Springs.
We are not Weed friendly, thus, no weed is allowed, neither inside or outside. There is an outside ashtray for cigarettes but be aware when a fire ban is in effect outdoor smoking is also banned. Smoking in your car might be your best idea or in a bar in-town. Damages, the smell of smoke, missing or lost items such as pillows (ours are marked), etc will be charged.
Let me know questions you may have. God bless!

With CLOSEUP views of Pikes Peak’s Sentinel Point, “Rocky Mountain Heights” is perfect for vacations and getaways for couples, friends, or small families. It also is a fabulous spot for “working from home,” with new Starlink high speed internet. The cabin is on 3.2 acres atop a hill in the western foothills of Pikes Peak. View Pikes Peak’s Sentinel Point from the sunroom, or the Adirondack lawn chairs. Hundreds of acres of undeveloped, forested hills provide privacy and amazing views. As you view down the stunning valleys, listen to the narrow mountain stream that flows into the beaver ponds on our neighbor’s private property. Watch for the yearly visits of mama moose with their newborns. Wildlife abounds, with moose and elk nearby, with mule deer grazing in our yard, and forest animals and birds cheering your spirits. From 9,500 ft, unplug, relax, and watch beautiful sunrises, brilliant stars, quaking Aspen, and silent snowfalls. Security/Game cameras are installed in the front and back of the property. The cabin is one level, with no stairs and easy parking, and a low-fenced front and backyard for the kiddos. A glass-bead firepit dining set is in the covered area near the propane bbq grill.
Charming mountain cabins often do not provide all the amenities that we have: sunrises and MOON rises over nearby Pikes Peak’s Sentinel Point, while hearing the small mountain stream from the backyard; covered outdoor dining and firepit. Inside: a workspace/ adjustable height computer desk (sit or stand) and chair; a gas fireplace, new comfy king and queen beds, televisions in both bedroooms and the living room, new washer and dryer, dishwasher, and propane bbq grill, and a sunroom. The log cabin exterior and the interior woodwork add to the mountain charm, with vaulted pine ceilings throughout, and hickory hardwood floors in the living and dining areas. YouTube television and internet are available, and you can prepare meals from the well-appointed kitchen.
Special Note: Marijuana/drugs, smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are not allowed in the cabin nor on the property. Activities Galore are in every direction!
Pikes Peak is 25 miles away to visit it by car, or take the cog railway from Manitou Springs. HIKE up the backside of Pikes Peak from the Crags Trailhead, just 6 miles from the cabin! Our area is a hiker’s dream! Mueller State Park is 5 miles away, with 50 miles of trails of every level on FIVE THOUSAND ACRES! (Or just drive through Mueller for vistas of Pikes Peak AND the Continental Divide). Minutes away are the waterfall at Horsethief Falls Trail, and the Dome Rock and the Pancakes Trails. See the AllTrails app for many nearby trails. In Cripple Creek, 12 miles south, are the casinos, the nationally famous winter Ice Castles, and the Mollie K. Gold Mine Tours. The town of Victor has gold mining history and Rita the Troll. On the way to Colorado Springs from the cabin, visit the Dinosaur Resource Center, Santa’s Workshop Amusement Park, The Penny Arcade and 25-cent kiddie rides, Cave of the Winds, Indian Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods, The Air Force Academy, the famous Broadmoor Hotel and Seven Falls, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Kids and adults love it!
Our central location allows you to enjoy all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer: hunting, skiing, river rafting, kayaking, world class fly fishing, snowmobiling, sledding, hot springs, hiking, biking, ATVing, Jeeping, zip lining, and rock climbing. The Royal Gorge is 57 miles away, offering river rafting, extreme zip lining, train rides, and gondola rides across the Gorge. Snow ski at Breckenridge, 88 miles away, without the high cost of lodging, and the more than 4-hour, round-trip travel congestion of I-70 from Denver in peak season! Snow ski at Monarch to the southwest, or stop at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs in Buena Vista on the way.
One of our favorite spots is less than 30 miles from the cabin — Eleven Mile Canyon. (Not to be confused with Eleven Mile Resevoir nearby). Drive through and ask the ranger to point out the huge bald eagles’ nest on the way in. The South Platte River rushes and tumbles between the stunning canyon walls, in the quintessential, picture-postcard Colorado wild. Picnic, hike, fish, fly fish, or drive through and never leave your car. A photographer’s dream! A Must See!
All the roads leading to the cabin from every direction are excellent highways, except for the last 1.2 miles, which are 2 lane, decompressed granite roads which are well-maintained by the county after rains and snow.
Come home to the gas burning fireplace in the cabin, nestled in Colorado mountains, where “nature’s finest” is right out your door!
- "The host is so organized and has renting down to a T. They go above and beyond with amenities supplied such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, laundry products. The decor is tastefully done and should be featured in a magazine. The furniture was good quality and clean. The entire home was clean. They also have a dishwasher for those that love to cook and they have every imaginable kitchenware as well as a formal dining area. Because of their good communication finding the location and check in was a breeze. We had zero issues but host gave us a way to contact them if we did need anything. It's so quiet at night. No noise or traffic, or partying of any kind, it was heaven as our goal was to get away from it all. We did check out the local towns, restaurants and bought a ticket up to the summit to Pikes Peak. I mention all of this for those that need things to do. However it's also a place to just hang out and relax. We spent hours sitting on the chairs that overlook the mountain. It was just so relaxing and I can not emphasize that enough. Things that made me smile were the detail they did in making this home a home. From the bears in a canoe paddling over the dark blue table cloth, to the seashell in the corner in the bathroom. The artwork on the walls was beautiful. For anyone reading this, I highly recommend renting from this host. You will not be disappointed. --- Misty and Theo"

- "The location an view from the backporch was amazing! The house was very clean and cozy. There were games to play with my kids and even tho i had no reception on my phone the wifi worked really good. I would definitely stay here again!" - "Very clean, great accommodations. Roomier than it looks." - "What a stay! My wife and I loved the place and so did our Australian Shepherd. Kristen's communication was awesome and she always was quick to reply to our messages and answering questions. Check in was a breeze. I wish checking into hotels was as easy. The place was spotless when we arrived and we were impressed by the stock of condiments and everything you would ever need. If you cook gourmet you might want to bring your own spiced (commonnn the host can't think of EVERYTHING) but for cooking most meals there is what you need. The bed is really nice and better that the bed at home. Oh wait did I say that out loud? The views were great from the back porch. The shower was great and 6'6" 270 lb me had plenty of room and the water pressure was was good. Our dog Sykes loved it and loved running around the place and exploring as well as chasing the Chipmunks. He also enjoyed barking at the Lynx one night. If you have ever heard a Lynx calling on a dark night you know itwill make your hair stand up on the back of your neck. He also had a night he got to bark at a bear that was outside. He/she left a large poop near the cabin to prove that it was there as well as another philosophical question that has been asked for many years now. And with that said I definitely would not let pets out after dusk without an escort and on a leash. Remember we are in their home and they have every right to pass through. If you want a very reasonable place in rhe mountains, this is the place."

- "We absolutely loved this property. It was a good distance away from town, but it did not matter. The cabin was incredibly clean and tastefully decorated. Anything and everything you might need was available, including a fan for white noise at night, heated floors in the bathroom, extra blankets and pillows, games and books, some snacks and treats...the views were absolutely gorgeous, and we were entertained by a variety of wildlife. There were deer grazing within 100 feet of the back door, a red robin's nest of babies on the back patio, and a small bunny that visited by the back door at every dawn and dusk. It was a perfect get away. I would choose this location again and again. As previously mentioned it was not close to town, but we didn't need or want to be. There were nearby neighbors, but it's location on the mountain made it feel very private. There were 4 of us, all adult size, and there was plenty of room. I can't say enough how much we loved this rental."

Escape to our modern cabin in the Pikes Peak region. Enjoy mountain views, a hot tub, and a large deck surrounded by aspen and pine trees. This private property has been newly renovated and boasts a large flatscreen TV and high-speed Starlink internet. Experience the magic of nature as you spot big horn sheep and other wildlife. Relax by the fire pit under a starlit sky. With its serene ambiance and new renovations, this property offers the perfect mountain getaway.
Step inside the cabin and be greeted by a recently renovated interior that seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern comforts. The open and spacious layout provides an inviting atmosphere for relaxation and socializing. Relax is the cozy living area, where large windows frame the majestic mountains, allowing natural light to flood the space. For entertainment, a large flatscreen TV awaits, ensuring you never miss your favorite shows or movies. The kitchen has anything you may need to cook up a quick snack or a large meal. There is tremendous views from every window as you walk through the cabin. You will find a central bathroom with an extra large shower, big vanity and a full sized washer and dryer. Then you will enter into the large bedroom in the back of the cabin. It is set with a memory foam king bed. There is a comfy office chair and a large desk equipped with a charging station and Starlink Internet for all your remote working needs! The exterior of the cabin has a large deck, hammocks and plenty of spots to take on your next book.
The guests have access to the cabin, the area around the cabin that is all on the East side of the driveway. The West side it is marked with blue markers and that is another person property. Also our neighborhood has a clubhouse and guests are able to access the outdoor amenities (tennis courts, play ground and frisbee golf course)
Cautionary Notes (Please Read)!
We do NOT accept check-in or check-out on holidays.
Absolutely NO open fires are allowed. The risk of wildfire in the area is too high. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity. The gas fire pit will be removed if there is a fire ban.
The roads require 4WD for November through April (however it can snow in October and in May!). The roads are plowed after 6 inches of snow. You do not need a 4WD or AWD in the summer but be aware that the dirt roads in the neighborhood are bumpy!
There is no air conditioning unit here. It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!). The nights are cool in the summer so to cool the house off you can open all the windows at night, then close them during the day and you stay cool! There are fans provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin.
We are at 9,200 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms including, taking a day to rest when you arrive, drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help).
- "We have been visiting this area of Colorado for many years and try new rentals each time - this one may very well be a repeat stay! The views were great and there were no close neighbors so it was very private. Loved sitting on the deck watching hummingbirds and afternoon thunderstorms. The hot tub was perfect for nightly soaks under the stars - you can see the Milky Way with your naked eye. Nice and updated with modern finished on the inside and out. The only thing I personally missed was a dishwasher, but the pros definitely make up for it. Host communication was excellent and the property was exactly as described. Would definitely stay at this property or another with the same host in the future."

Very private, Mountainview hideout! Surrounded by National Forest at the foot of Pikes Peak. View of Continental Divide and snow capped peaks from our new hot tub. Close to hiking trails, Goldmines and great restaurants
Our 1000 square-foot cabin is surrounded by thousands of acres of Pike National Forest. You can’t see another house from this property! That’s why we call it, ”The Hideout”.
You could literally hike out the back door all the way to the summit of Pikes Peak and not cross a road nor see another house. Truly your Rocky Mountain getaway.
The space
We have just furnished the cabin with beautiful log and leather furniture. Brand new mattresses, bedding, linens and towels.
Our kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you should need. Just bring the food you want to cook on our gas range or grill out on the patio… propane is provided.
We have high speed Internet, a smart TV and your own desk and workspace. Each nightstand has power cords with USB plugs.
Snuggle up in the living room on our leather reclining sofa and overstuffed recliner. The lodge decor reminds us of a time when life moved at a much slower, relaxed pace

Our cabin is located on the west side of Pikes Peak and our driveway is steep. Although you can make it up the driveway with 2 wheel drive. or front wheel drive, all wheel drive or four-wheel-drive will be necessary if there is snow.
If you are coming from the town of Divide, you may want to go just past The driveway, about 100 yards, to a turn around. That way, you will have a straight shot up the driveway.
After a long day hiking or playing tourist, relax in our hot tub. You will have breathtaking views of the Continental Divide and at night, a spectacular star filled sky!
Welcome home!
Guest access
The entire property is for your enjoyment and there is plenty of parking.

Other things to note
Please be aware….
You are visiting an area that is a semi arid climate. Wildfires are a very serious threat. Please be EXTREMELY careful with any kind of open flame. Each year, thousands of acres are needlessly burned across the state of Colorado.
You are visiting an area with a lot of wildlife. Bears in particular, can smell food a long ways off. Please do not leave any food outside or in a vehicle. They are quite clever and will usually find a way into your car.
Please do not feed any wildlife.l
There are four exterior cameras, always on.
One on the parking area.
One on the driveway.
For your safety and to meet insurance requirements, there is one on the area around the hot tub and front of the cabin.
The hot tub camera is completely blurred within 4 feet and including the hot tub. No image can be seen, in the hot tub, just people walking up to it. Because of the remote location, we need to make sure people who come onto the property uninvited are observed.
There is a Ring privacy feature. All images inside the hot tub and the area directly around it are completely blurred for your privacy.
One on the end of house.
- "Loved it all thank you so much for everything" - "Very nice place. Close to a lot, but remote as well. I look for places that are "secluded" and private. Anywhere you look, from this location, you wont see ANY other structures. Just forest, and the road is 30ft below you. Very modern, and fully equipped home, with no one, and nothing but forest around it. The hot tub faces west, overlooking the tree covered mountain slopes at sunset. Fantastic place to stay. "

- "We wanted to stay in a cabin rather than a hotel to visit places like Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak and this was an amazing cabin. It was easy to checkin and clean when we arrived. The linens were top notch. The kitchen had all we needed to make a home cooked meal. The hot tub was amazing after a day of exploring. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to be off the beaten path. The location is 9k feet so high altitude and a bit far from stores so make sure you stop in Woodland Park to gather what you need for your stay. Overall we enjoyed our time at the cabin. Thank you Jennifer and team!"

Summary:
We think you'll love this cute tiny home! It's tucked out of the way in a dense forest, with sweeping forest and mountain views. You won't believe how peaceful it is! You're just a few miles up Hwy 67 to Cripple Creek with small shops, restaurants, and some of Colorado's only casinos! **While the road is plowed, during winter months we do recommend 4WD for the large snow amounts Colorado mountains get each year.
The Space:
Layout:
- Studio style tiny home
- Main level has small living area, kitchenette, and bathroom
- Loft area houses bed and TV
Bedroom:
- The loft space acts as a bedroom with a queen size bed and TV
Entertainment: high speed internet, TV, and access to various TV streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc.)
Guest Access:
You'll have full access to the entire tiny home, including the surrounding forest. There is lots of Bureau of Land Management (Colorado public) land around here as well! There's plenty of room for parking, just make sure not to block the road.
The Neighborhood:
You'll be just 0.8 miles off Highway 67, and under 4 miles (7 minutes) to Cripple Creek. You'll drive through a county area that is an eclectic mix of million-dollar mansions and old shacks on your way to the cabin. The 0.8 mile drive off the highway is on a maintained dirt road (and plowed in the winter). You'll turn right after a trucking yard, pass a few houses, and come to this tiny home near the end of the road.
Getting Around:
If you're looking to walk around, hike, or bring your bike/ATV/etc. there's plenty of room around here. If you're looking for food or shopping or gambling at the casino, Cripple Creek is just a 7 minute drive away, and you can get to Divide in 25 minutes. Colorado Springs is 1 hour away. If you're wanting to hit the slopes, Breckenridge and Monarch are both about 2 hours away. **4WD recommended for winter months.
Other Things to Note:
AT&T and T-Mobile users do not get good signal here. Verizon and Sprint seem to be good (LTE). We do have fast wifi to help you stay connected, and you can use wifi calling.
Interaction with Guests:
This is a remote area and we will not be onsite. If you have trouble we can be reached via messenger and can make recommendations on who to call in case of emergency.
- "We loved this Tiny Home. The only thing that wasn't ideal is the road conditions getting to the property. The road leading up to the house is very bumpy with several dips. Otherwise everything was great!" - "Such an awesome property!!! Adorable tiny home equipped with everything you could need. Good size mini fridge, stocked kitchen supplies, hot water and gas. The location is beautiful and the hosts were very communicative. No trouble finding it, checking in or out. Super romantic spot, I'll be coming back with my partner next time!"

Animals, flowers, nature, wildlife, etc... The property is being set up to be a fully functional homestead and farm, where you get to enjoy the ambiance and benefits, without any of the work. Currently, things like eggs, are provided to guests free of charge, with extra cartons of eggs available to purchase if guests would like to take eggs home with them (locally, or on to their next local destination). Long-term, other products like bacon, chicken, honey, and other products produced on the farm will also be available for sale.
Seasonally, you can expect the grounds blanketed in snow during the winter (Nov/Dec - April/May), or covered with fields of flowers in the spring (May/June) and summer (July - Aug; note: at these altitudes, we do not have ticks / venomous snakes), with fall foliage popping all around in the fall (Sept/Oct).
Animals on the farm - Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Turkeys, Pigs, Livestock Guardian Dogs & Barn Cats (some animals will be seasonal for a couple of years, but will become full time residents, who repopulate the farm for the following years). Over 2025, I will be doubling or tripling the number of pastures to implement proper rotational grazing for all farm animals and will be applying for AirBnB experiences to offer farm tours, and wolf-hybrid tours, to offer guests even more unique opportunities and experiences.
On the topic of future, future of the property, and experiences... historically speaking, at one point in time the neighboring properties were a local ski hill, with tubing, and ski lifts. I have purchased those properties, and will be working on restoring these trails, lifts, etc... so that during the winter, there are private ski slopes, and tubing trails. During the other seasons, hiking, biking trails, and scenic viewing spots available to hang out at. (Note: I do not have concrete timelines on these - some hiking trails have been established, others are still a work in progress, but I share some of the vision for the properties, as your staying today, helps build that future tomorrow, and I look forward to sharing that future).
Guest access
Guests have full access to the guest cabin, and surrounding property.
Front gate has electronic key-code entrance & exit. The code will be emailed to you prior to check-in.
Steam Sauna, Grill and Fire Pit are all located between the guest cabin and the Hot Tub, along the driveway (Towels and Bathrobes are provided).

The timer has 2 modes, run for 1 hour (you will hear the heater engage) or delayed start then run for 1 hour (if you choose this option, you will hear the heater turn off after engaging, then you will set the dial to your desired delayed start).
Hot tub is located by the driveway, near the metal building, past the steam sauna. Stairs to enter the hot tub are on the back side.
There are a mix of tubes and sleds, for everyone from kids to full grown adults (max weight ratings of 350 lbs). These are provided in the wooden box, by the back gate.

The last 1/2 mile to the property is on well-maintained County dirt roads, during the time of year when snow is possible (Nov - April), a 4-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended as are higher clearance vehicles during non-snow times. The public roads are regularly plowed as needed. We have a snow removal service in place for the parking areas immediately adjacent as well as the private access drive. However, the snow service comes after the snow stops and only if there is more than 1-2 inches of snow. So light snow may exist on the drive. Please note there are no refunds due to weather or travel issues outside of the stated cancellation policy.
Guest access
We recommend a 4WD vehicle, as weather is unpredictable from November to April and even other months can have anomalies. There is no significant public transportation, so bringing or renting a vehicle is the best solution for mobility.
Other things to note
When driving in the mountains, deer and other wildlife will pop out of wooded areas along the road. If you see one deer, there are almost always 2-3 or more behind it and they can be fawns. Please slow down and observe speed limits to avoid killing wildlife. Dawn and dusk are when they are most active and we have a lot of them in the immediate neighborhood.

Escape to Bighorn Vista, where stunning mountain views surround you at every turn. Soak in the hot tub, unwind in the sauna, or stretch out in the unique sky net suspended over the deck. Inside, gather by the crackling fireplace, enjoy the main-level king bedroom, and let the kids or friends retreat to the cozy loft with twin beds. End your days at the outdoor firepit under endless stars. The perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and mountain charm awaits.
The space
Welcome to Bighorn Vista — your private mountain retreat where breathtaking views, cozy comforts, and modern amenities create the perfect getaway.
When you arrive, you’ll park along a quiet mountain road and take a short walk down a sturdy set of stairs to the cabin, tucked just below the road for added privacy. With each step, the view begins to unfold — towering peaks, endless sky, and the promise of relaxation ahead.
At the bottom, you’re greeted by the spacious front deck, designed for both fun and serenity. Comfortable seating offers a place to sip your morning coffee or watch the sunset paint the mountains. A fire pit is perfect for gathering under the stars, and the built-in sky net — suspended over the deck’s edge — invites you to lie back and gaze at the mountains below or the sparkling night sky above.
Step inside, and the cabin opens into a warm living room centered around a glowing fireplace. Large windows frame the view, bringing the outdoors in, while plush seating creates the perfect spot to curl up with a blanket, enjoy a movie, or simply watch the shifting light over the peaks.
The living area flows into the fully equipped kitchen, stocked with everything you need to prepare anything from quick snacks to full dinners. Modern appliances, quality cookware, and plenty of counter space make cooking a pleasure. A dining area at the counter keeps everyone connected, whether you’re cooking, eating, or chatting over coffee.
Off the main living space is the custom bathroom, designed with mountain charm and modern touches. Quality finishes and thoughtful details give it a spa-like feel, making it a welcome retreat after a day outdoors.
The primary bedroom is located on the main level, offering a plush king-size bed dressed in soft linens for ultimate comfort. A washer and dryer are tucked into the closet, perfect for longer stays or freshening up after adventures. This space feels private and peaceful, ideal for a restful night’s sleep.
Head upstairs to find the lofted bedroom — a cozy, open space with two twin beds, a couple of comfortable chairs, and a collection of games. Perfect for kids, friends, or extra guests, the loft doubles as a fun hangout spot and a quiet reading nook. Its open railing lets you look down over the main living space, keeping the cabin feeling bright and connected.
While the interior is welcoming, the back porch is where the magic happens. Here you’ll find a private sauna — the ultimate way to relax after a day of hiking, skiing, or exploring. A grill is ready for evening cookouts, and the hot tub offers pure mountain bliss. Soak in steaming water while gazing at the stars, watch the sunset over the ridges, or enjoy a crisp morning with the mist rising around you.
Every corner of Bighorn Vista has been thoughtfully designed to balance comfort, style, and adventure. Spend your days exploring nearby trails, fishing in mountain streams, or discovering charming small towns — then return to your cabin to relax by the fire, share stories on the deck, or simply listen to the quiet of the forest.
Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a friends’ retreat, Bighorn Vista isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience. From the sky net to the hot tub, the sauna to the mountain views, it’s a space that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and make memories you’ll treasure long after you leave.

There is no air conditioning unit here. It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!). The nights are cool in the summer so to cool the house off you can open all the windows and doors, then close them during the day and you stay nice and cool! There are fans provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin.

Other things to note
DRIVEWAY: You don’t get beautiful views with flat roads! The dirt/gravel driveway is a bit steep, and AWD or 4WD are required to ensure you’re able to comfortably access the home. As with anywhere in the area, chains are strongly recommended in winter (driveway is plowed regularly after snow).
PARKING: There is room for two cars in the garage and two or three more in the area in front of the home. More detailed instructions, including no-parking zones, will be provided ahead of check-in.
NEARBY AMENITIES: You can walk a mile or take a short drive down the hill to visit Cripple Creek’s famous donkeys, or try your hand at Frisbee Golf on the full course at Mountain View Adventure Park. Mountain View Adventure Park also offers a lovely walking or running trail, playground, and more.
CAMERAS: WiFi cameras monitor the exterior of the home. Footage remains private and may be used for liability reasons and to monitor compliance with the applicable rules and policies (including ensuring the hot tub is not left uncovered). Start the day with coffee or mimosa on the deck surrounded by epic Colorado mountain views. Explore local trails with your furry companion. Indulge in a well deserved dip in the hot tub. Working remotely? Fast wifi makes it easy. On vacation? Well done. Kick your feet up with a good book in a hammock. Create a delicious family meal and revel in a game night. Share stories by the fire. Fall asleep in peace under the stars nestled in a mountain top Aspen grove, dreaming of another perfect day.
The space
The views around the house really steal the show. You can see both Pikes Peak to the east and various mountain ranges to the west, and pretty much everything in between. The Sawatch Range, Collegiate Peaks, and the north end of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains are all visible on a clear day. The west-facing deck offers spectacular views of the rural valley and nearby granite outcroppings including Dome Rock. The hummingbird feeders bring curious hummingbirds right up to you as you sit on the deck with your coffee or enjoying a meal with family.
Go for a hike in the nearby Dome Rock state wildlife area, where you can fish Four Mile Creek or just be on the lookout for the bighorn sheep that call the area home. Head down to Guffey Gorge watch the locals cool off in the pools, or drive up to Mueller State Park for even more great outdoors. You can also enjoy your immediate surroundings and explore the nearby rock outcroppings on the property or watch for the deer that bed down under the tree. The cabin is surrounded by a wild aspen grove, which is most beautiful in the fall when the leaves change to a gorgeous golden yellow. Many drive to the Rocky Mountains to see the aspens change and you can see them just out the window!
Other things to note
The cabin is located at 9,500 ft above sea level. If coming from a low elevation, you may experience altitude sickness. We highly recommend increasing your water intake to stay hydrated while at a higher elevation.
Please also keep in mind that there is increased risk of fire in Colorado so there is a fire ban in our community. There are two fire places inside the cabin though to tell stories and sing songs around.
During the winter and spring months, it can snow quite a bit up here. We recommend AWD or 4WD, especially if you aren't accustomed to driving in the snow. The roads to the cabin are plowed and well maintained within 24 hours of snow, but we cannot guarantee the condition of the roads during your drive.
If your stay is during the week, you may see our hot tub guy come by. He typically comes on Wednesdays but may come earlier or later depending on the weather and other delays. He tries his best to stay out of the cabin, but if he needs to refill the water level, he may need access to the utility closet in the basement.
