Location: Our home is in the Ski Ranches at ten thousand feet elevation, (300 Beaver Pond Ln. Telluride CO 81435) one mile from the entrance to Mountain Village Ski & Golf Resort. We are ten miles from the town of Telluride with access to Hwy #145. The town is accessible by road or by Gondola. We often drive to the parking in Mtn. Village (sometimes free) and ride the Gondola (free of course) to the ski area or into town for shopping or dining. Most everything from the Gondola is within walking distance and there is no hassle with parking.

The living area was spacious but we definitely utilized the deck outside every afternoon. We were surrounded by trees but the main view out back was wide open. As suggested, we hung the hummingbird feeder outside and watched as many came to feed. We also filled the tin bowl out back with fresh water and the deer stopped by to drink. The little stream below was delightful. Inside the kitchen was everything we needed to cook our evening meals. The washer and dryer came in handy and was so convenient. The property is quiet and secluded near the end of the road, amongst a mixture of 5 to 40 acre parcels making up the surrounding "neighborhood." There are walking trails around the acreage and along the gravel roads in the subdivision. Property is forested with Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir, Gambrel Oak, and Aspen, as well as many wildflowers.
Mountain views are of Hayden Peak, North Pole Peak, and Mount Mary. Wildlife are seen on the property and in the neighborhood. The property has horse shoe pits, corn hole boards, and a sandbox and swing set for children. It is a dog-friendly place. The BunkHouse at Piney Woods is a NO SMOKING property, inside and outside.

The BunkHouse at Piney Woods is 510 square feet with one bedroom/living room combo; wood stove; separate kitchen with dining table and chairs; full bathroom with shower; private deck with forest view. It accommodates two people with one queen size bed and possibly a child on separate sleeping “bunk”. Guest parking is located directly in front of The BunkHouse. There is no cable or satellite TV, but Internet is available. A flat screen TV with built in DVD player is provided. The kitchenette is equipped with dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, coffee pot, electric kettle, microwave, toaster, hot plate, refrigerator, slow cooker, toaster oven, kitchen linens, and paper towels. You may choose, on another day (or the same day) to ride your bikes to Ouray, again straight from the cabin. Taking County Road 23 to County Road 17 is the best way to see much more of Ouray. Take a break in Ouray to shop or have a bite to eat, then turn around and head back to the cabin (mostly all downhill, at this point), riding along the Uncompahgre River, life is so good!

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very clean, well equipped cabin. Great location." - "We've stayed at four different cabins in Ouray and this was our favorite. The outside sitting area/creek is very relaxing and private; by far the best atmosphere of any place we've ever stayed. The home was very clean and roomy (a whole family could stay here and be very comfortable); it was also the best stocked with supplies of any place we have ever stayed. We traveled with a group and we each took turns hosting a dinner; we had six people over one night and the only thing we supplied was the food... everything else (spices, cookware, place settings, dishwasher detergent, etc) was supplied in the cabin. It's close to Ouray (5-6 miles) and very close to the Ouray KOA campground (about a half mile); if, like us, you have friends staying at the KOA you will find this place VERY convenient. I would definitely stay here again! If you stay when it's hot out and need more than one bedroom you should be aware of the following: We stayed in late July and it was in the 90's during our stay. There was a portable air conditioner downstairs but the house stayed cool enough that we did not need that air conditioner. But, both bedrooms are upstairs and only one had a portable air conditioner; that air conditioner cooled that room very well (we only used the room with the air conditioner and were very comfortable). The other upstairs bedroom got uncomfortably hot during the day and, while opening the windows at night did cool the room, it took some time for it to cool down. "

- "Very cool location, feel like you have the valley to yourself! Loved our stay and will be back!" - "This place is magnificent. The views are outstanding, with a backdrop of jagged mountains and aspens. It's tucked away in a quiet little community, so you definitely have a sense of peace and quiet, and the stargazing at night is spectacular. There are NO criticisms for this place, but I will offer a few things to consider before you book: There isn't a microwave or dishwasher, so you'll do things the old fashion way. There is a TV, but it's situated upstairs, in the loft area, and is parallel to the bed. We ended up just reading and didn't use it. The queen bed is located in the loft, and it can get quite warm, so if you're part polar bear like me, you'll be better off sleeping on the couch. We loved this place, and it is close to a few spectacular hikes (recommended: Blue Lakes/Mt. Sneffels), so we hope to stay there again."

- "Location is almost a ski in ski out with a short walk to a ski run then ski down to a ski lift. Shuttle service is very convenient to get around mountain village and for pick up at the end of a ski day. It’s kind of too difficult to actually ski back to the lodge so a pick up at the market or the village is easier. Loved the pool and hot tub outside after a long ski day. They also have a sauna and steam room and indoor hot tub that was nice and clean. It was perfect for our needs just wish there was a mini fridge and small microwave and it would have been perfect. Thanks for an awesome stay!"

- "Beautiful view of the Cimarron Mountain Range, with lots of windows to look out. At over 8,800 feet the air is thin and can make breathing difficult.The rooms are large and the house is well stocked with everything. The wood burning stove was nice. The master bathroom is small with a very small toilet. In both bathrooms the toilets are so close to the tub/shower they almost touch. The shower door opening in the master bathroom is small and not easy to get in and out of and the showerhead would not stay up. There's a king size bed in the master and a trundle bed in the second bedroom that would work for one or two children. There's a large storage room/closet off the second bedroom with a bed stuck under the shelves. There are no table lamps or bedside lamps so no reading in bed. Instructions for the thermostat would have been very helpful. Strangest of all are the wooden double dungeon doors going into the second bedroom. There are wooden spindles/bars at the top and a large metal bar that locks the doors from the outside. Makes you wonder who was locked in there before! The house could use a deep cleaning and the deck needs some attention. We did enjoy staying in the area and feel that with some work and changes this could be a really good place to stay."

The house is a modern 2 bedroom, 2 ½ bath with a very rustic charm. The reverse floor plan is somewhat unique with the bedrooms on the first floor and living space upstairs. No lugging heavy suitcases up the stairs and the views from the second floor are beautiful. There are large decks on the front and back of the house. The back deck has a gas grill. They are great places to hang out at the end of the day to relax and plan the next day's adventure. The stargazing from either deck is spectacular since there are no other houses within a mile of the house and no intrusive light. There is no cell service but calls can be made over WiFi.

#STR2022-027 Enjoy this secluded 4 BR, 3 BA roomy cabin at the end of a private drive set in the trees on one acre of land. Take in beautiful secluded mountain views on a property surrounded by 120 acres of conservation land, yet only a convenient 8 min drive to Ouray (5m) to soak in the Hot Springs or 10 min to Ridgway (8m).

Spacious layout and floor plan, comfortable beds, appliances, full kitchen and full bathrooms on every floor. Enjoy a beautiful location with lots of amenities.

The space
Sleeping: The Loft is an upstairs honeymoon primary suite with King bed and full bathroom, complete with jet tub and glass shower. Enjoy forest and mountain views from the bed and bathroom. Two main floor bedrooms—the Room with a View (Queen) and The Dreamer (King) access a full bathroom on the main floor. The downstairs Cub Cave contains two pair of stacked bunk beds (sleeps 4) and 3rd bathroom with shower. Ten people sleep comfortably spread out in four bedrooms with bathrooms on each level. The Rest Inn Cabin is comfortably luxurious.

Eating: The fully stocked gourmet kitchen is cook friendly. It includes a gas stove-top, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, large sink with disposal, and many kitchen amenities. Enjoy long conversations around the dining table, the den bistro table, play games on the game table or sip a favorite drink outside on one of three separate decks. All decks have mountain views and forest views.

Relaxing: Hang out in one of two living rooms by a gas log stove. Gaze out the "IMAX" windows at the mountains, the Ponderosa pines, and wildlife. Take a walk in the 120 acres of mountain forest on public conservation land (BLM) that surrounds the one acre Rest Inn. Take a bike ride down CR17 south to Ouray with spectacular views or north to Ridgway and see the Ridgway State Park. Kick back and read a book on one of three different patio decks.

The Telluride area Placer Mine Ranch is a stunning, secluded, estate home set inside a red rock canyon on over 5 acres. The home sits across the street from the San Miguel River and only a short 18 minute drive to the award winning, Telluride Ski Resort or Town of Telluride! Large outdoor patios/decks throughout to help you relax with your morning coffee and enjoy the sunsets after a day of hiking, biking, skiing or more. The property also offers a large private hot tub and steam shower.

The space
This luxurious home offers top of the line finishes and appliances throughout to ensure you're every need is taken care of while vacationing. The outside space is built for relaxation and taking in the sounds of the San Miguel River located just across the street from the home. Relax after skiing, mountain biking or hiking, in the large outdoor hot tub while enjoying stunning views, as well as stargazing the evening away after dark. This listing is for the 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath larger home, but can also be rented as a 6 bedroom, 3.5 bath with the adjoining (yet separate) apartment. Please ask for more information if you're interested in the larger rental (otherwise, it's listed separate here as a 2BR, 1BA) and may be rented separately during your stay (there is a completely private entrance, hot tub and parking area).
